AN: I don't own Hellsing or Inuyasha, this is just for fun.

No one asked for this absolutely no one, but it's been on my mind for the past six months and I felt bad because I hadn't uploaded to this fic in a long time. This is terrible because I have so many half-finished works for this. Anywho…

Pairing: Kagome/ Alexander Anderson

Part 1/3: Unfortunate Intro

This is what she gets. After all this time, all the things she has experienced. Had the experiences taught her nothing? Was she once again that naive 15 year old, ready to trust anyone that smiled at her? Or was she a 22-year-old woman, who had a fucking war under her belt. Actually, this wasn't her fault. She was in Italy for university and was sick of being lonely. It was hard to connect with her peers after what she had seen and done, but is this what she gets for trying? Kidnapped by a cult, because one of the members pretended to be friends with her. And now she might die being burned at the stake. Really what year is this? She struggled against the rope holding her to the logs. As she did, the white billowing dress, that she did not leave the house in rustled. When/If she got free, she was going to kick the ass of those who had changed her because it was a large group of men. She had not heard or seen one woman yet. Her efforts to escape intensified as a man in a priest-like robe stood in front of her, giving a sermon. And a man holding a torch started to walk forward, almost eagerly.

"My fellow men, rejoice, for God will smile upon us. For we will return, his faithful servant," the crowd cheered.

"Please, stop!" Kagome yelled at the man with the torch. "I'm not who you seem to think I am."

"Don't fear," the priest turned to her, "Your mortal coil is in the way of what you truly are, an angel on Earth."

"I don't know what you're talking about!"

"God will grant us eternal favor for returning you to him"

"No, no, he won't," she pulled at her ropes harder, her hope of escaping was about to literally go up in flames. This is not how she imagined she would go.

"Stop! You heathens, you fake bearer of God's will," a voice shouted from the tree line. Kagome vaguely noticed that it was Germanic, not that she recognized the voice. It wasn't like someone would come help her.

"No!" the priest yelled, "Stop them, use your body as a shield. We will not let them interrupt us. We must redeem ourselves in His glory. We-" His speech was cut off as his face was blown off. Kagome felt bile gather at the back of her throat as the faceless man fell to the ground.

Whoever these people were, she would get shot in the crossfire, that is if she didn't burn alive. She looked around and cried as the torchbearer was caressing the wood at her feet with the flaming stick. A shrill scream ripped through her vocal cords as the fire quickly spread and licked at the kindling.

"No, no," the more she tugged at the ropes the tighter they seemed to get.

"Yumie, get the hostage!" the German voice yelled over the carnage, but Kagome saw that it was too late as she was encased in flames and her dress was set ablaze. She didn't know she could scream louder, as she closed her eyes and waited for the pain to engulf her. However, it never came, she cracked open her eyes. Flames surrounded her, but they were blue. Was this foxfire? She looked at her feet and smelled burning wood. Nope it wasn't that? What the hell? Before she could think about it more, the ropes were cut and she fell to the ground next to the faceless priest. With a quick look over her shoulder, she saw that the fire was once again a marriage of reds, yellows, and oranges, like fire, was supposed to be. She clawed herself away from the body next to her and was barely able to get to her feet when she was knocked over again.

"Heinkel, what do we do with her?" this was a new voice, there was a harsh edge to it.

"We can't kill her, you saw the flames." the German woman said.

"Maybe she's a witch," Kagome felt a blade on the base of her neck.

"No, do you think this is the person Maxwell mentioned a while ago?"

"Hey! What's your name?" the blade was pushed into her neck.

"Kagome Higurashi, please don't kill me. I had nothing to do with those lunatics. I was kidnapped. I just want to go home, and forget this night happened."

"Identity confirmed, Yumie do the thing, to double-check" Kagome closed her eyes, and winced as the blade was dragged down past her shoulder blades. She could feel the blood flowing to the surface, and her powers working to heal her. "It is her,"

"I don't know what you're talking about. I just want to go home," for the first time in a while, she felt tears start to gather in her eyes. "Please, I just-" She was rolled over to see the women above her. One had cropped blonde hair with a very androgynous look. The other had borderline crazed maroon eyes and wild hair. That was all she was able to take in before she was knocked out with a strike to her temple.

-Later, Some undetermined time has passed-

When Kagome came to, she was in another place that didn't recognize. But props to this kidnapper, she was in a building with furniture and not in the middle of the woods. The bed she was in was comfortable and slightly bigger than a hospital bed. The room was bland with yellowish walls, and a fair amount of religious paraphernalia around the room. She was in different clothes this time as well, a pair of loose gray sweatpants and a loose black t-shirt. She didn't appear to be hooked up to any medical machinery. Sitting up caused her to feel light-headed, when she touched her temple, it was tender. Meaning the person that hit her, could have killed her if her powers hadn't healed her. Oh joy. From one group of strangers to another. She was able to stand by stabilizing herself with the bed. Looking at her hand she saw a bandaid that closely matched her skin tone. It didn't hurt when she poked it. Did they drug her? Take some blood?

"Oh my, you shouldn't be out of bed," Kagome looked over her shoulder to see an Asian nun rushing across the threshold to her. The woman's face looked similar, but she was too tired to really think about it. Wait a…

"Aren't you the woman who knocked me out?" she asked in an accusatory tone. She rejected the woman's help as she tried to stand. However, Kagome found herself on the ground as her legs crumpled under her.

"Ugh, it's hard to explain, but I apologize for her," the woman was surprisingly strong as she got Kagome back into bed and even tucked her in. "Please, you need more rest." A shawl was draped over her shoulders. "I'm Yumiko by the way."

"Where am I?" her already thin patience was quickly being grated to nothing.

"You're safe in Rome," Yumiko said as she wrung her hands in front of her habit.

"Okay, when can I go home?" she noticed that the woman paused and shifted on her feet.

"Soon," but the woman's face had a strange expression pass over too fast for her to put a name too. That was the determining factor, she was getting out of here. She wasn't even going to entertain trying to learn about these people.

"Look, I really should...rest," she finished to get the woman to leave the room.

"Thank you, call if you need me. I won't be far," the woman bowed to her before leaving the room. When the door was opened Kagome thought she saw two guards standing on either side of the frame. Okay, so walking out the door was out of the question, but isn't it usually.

It took a while for her to get her bearings. Once she could walk, she slowly made her way around the room. Her only way was out the window. The only personal effects she could find were her wallet and phone that had been placed in a drawer beside her bed. Her phone had been disabled, so she decided it would best if she left it behind and get another when she could. The sweatpants had deep pockets, so her wallet was protected. The window thankfully opened with minimal creaking and it held itself open. Looking down it was about a two-story drop, with bushes under the building to catch her fall. She tried to figure the best way to fall with the least amount of damage before she got paranoid and just jumped out feet first. The impact with the bush wasn't bad, a twig stabbed her in her lady bits, which did hurt terribly. A little jittery from the fall, she wrestled her way out of the shrubbery, happy to see that no one was patrolling around here.

In front of her was an expanse of fields bordered by a forest. It would have been worth a picture if she wasn't trying to escape. Now, if the woman was right saying that she was still in Rome, then she just needed to find a road and get into town. Because if she just went into the woods, she was liable to just get lost. She stayed close to the edge of the building and ducked under windows because she could feel people inside. In fact, she thought she was getting to the front of the building because she felt more people, which meant she would be able to find a driveway and find her way to the road. She stopped at another edge of the building and peeked around. There she saw a bunch of cars parked around a circular driveway and lots of people of varying appearances dressed as priests and nuns. All of them were wearing glasses, which was weird. She watched, intrigued as a car pulled up, and out stepped a man with long white hair, an angular face, and eyes were hidden behind shades. The man that came out after the white-haired man, made her breath stop. He was massive, and that was generous. He seemed to tower over everyone. He was also dressed as a priest but wore a billowing white coat. His gold hair caught the sun, and from the quick look around the area he gave, she saw that he had a face scar and a nice face. He reminded her of the taiyoukai she had seen, though he felt human. She stopped her ogling and pulled her head back.

Okay, well she found the driveway. She walked back towards the window she jumped from and then made a beeline for the forest. Her only gripe was that she didn't have any shoes. She couldn't find any when she searched the room. Twigs and rocks dug into her feet, which weren't used to walking on the forest floor anymore. And it did slow her down, but so far so good. As she got closer to the front of the building under the cover of trees an alarm started ringing. The people in front got tense, as the woman, Yumiko, was her name, leaned out the window to shout.

"She's gone!" with a speed she had not seen since the feudal era the people scattered, "She can't have gotten far!" the woman jumped out of the window, she hit the ground sprinting. And Kagome took that as a sign to run, she didn't know what these people were capable of, but they were obviously stronger than anyone she interacted with at her university. She just hoped that even though she was not in the same shape she had been in the feudal era she would still escape.

She walked deeper into the woods, there was no way she was going to run, shoes aside, it would give her position away to anyone with a keen enough ear. A nervousness started to envelop her as the trees thinned out, and she could hear what she thought was traffic. But before she could traverse further, she felt a presence behind her. She looked over her shoulder and didn't see anyone, so she kept walking.

"I know someone is there, I'm just trying to go home," she said with the hopes that the person would feel bad and leave her alone. Also, the trees were quickly running out, and she wasn't sure what she would do without their minimal cover. "I just wanna go home," she thought she heard a footstep behind her, and she turned around to walk backward for a bit. She raised her hands to show that she was defenseless, "It's been a crazy day or two. Please let me leave, I'll never talk about what little I saw." As she was about to turn back around, the massive man she had seen earlier emerged from the treeline. Of course, it had to be him, and not some smaller, hopefully, weaker man. Though at this angle she could see that he had green eyes, which was useless, in her current situation.

"Hi," she said as she gasped as her back hit a tree.

"Hello," his deeply accented voice said back, and he inclined his head in greeting. They stared at each other neither moving, then she felt it, more people, surrounding her. This man was their scout, probably. She didn't want to give it more thought as she quickly rounded the tree before running in the direction that felt less people. It was coming from all angels it felt like.

"Lass, we don't want to sedate you again, but we will if we have to," it sounded like a man was in her ear as she ran. While her skills were rusty she was managing to avoid the people that were grabbing for her and whatever the hell they were shooting at her. She didn't bother to look back, that was how you lost track of your surroundings. As she juked another person, by spinning around them, and dropping them with a quick trip, before she could escape. Her arm was grabbed, she was unable to get away, as she looked up the arm, it was the tall blonde man from before. Had he been close the entire time? Wrestling out his grip proved to be ineffectual as he held firm as if she wasn't giving it her all. He even managed to get her firmly into one arm and produced a needle in his other hand. "I really didn't want to do this," he said as he aimed for her neck, she couldn't get a scream out as it jabbed her in the neck, the effects seemed instantaneous as she blacked out again.

...

Kagome woke with a startled gasp, and she saw that she was in the same room as before. Had she dreamed her escape? The dull throb in her neck told her otherwise. As she sat up she saw the man that was responsible for her being captured, again, was sitting in a chair right beside the window. It looked comical because he was too big for the wooden chair. He looked uncomfortable, with long legs stretched out and his hands rested on his thighs.

"You're awake," he said as he stood. "I'll get Yumiko, it would be for the best that you do not move, the window has been locked good." And with that he lumbered out of the room, leaving her in silence.

"Good afternoon," the woman from earlier said as she entered the room, "How are you?"

"Trapped," Kagome said and didn't feel bad as the woman winced at her tone.

"Sorry about that, it wasn't done with joy. We didn't think you'd try to leave," Yumiko gestured to the window with a strained giggle.

"Who's we?" She didn't know why she asked, they were more likely another cult.

"Umm…" the woman looked behind her as the man walked back in.

"We, as in Iscariot, as in believers and enforcers of the Catholic Church," the man said with obvious pride in his voice. Kagome looked between the two.

"Fuck, this is another cult. What is my week? I can't believe this," she ran her hands over her face.

"We aren't a cult," Yumiko said with passion in her voice, not as meek as before. "We are a religion of love."

"Love that holds people captive," Kagome snipped, she did not care how much of bitch she looked like. She was tired of this and wanted answers. The nun grabbed her cross.

"You are stressed," she said, then smiled, "But you are in luck because dinner was finished while you were out."

"Oh, so you can drug me with food?"

"No, but it will shed some light on this," she looked at the tall man behind her, but he remained silent. "Please come along," she walked over to help Kagome out of the bed. Which she was upset about because her legs felt like jelly again. Yumiko held Kagome to her side securely as they walked out of the room. She did get her confirmation about the guards outside her room. As she was helped downstairs, she didn't think she could manage another escape. One the woman helping her felt strong. Two her body felt so floaty. It was lessening as the descended the steps, but in no way stable enough for her to leave. And three and most importantly, the tall blonde was following closely behind. She was stuck. Thankfully the woman must have wrapped her shoulders in a shawl as she slept, she gripped the edges for comfort.

She tried to take in her surroundings, but she felt defeated at the moment. It did seem like a hospital she was in, she could feel the aura of sickness, she didn't notice before. As they rounded more corners, and down yet another stairwell, pamphlets and medical posters littered the hall and cluttered the tables. It didn't look staged for her either, this was a functioning facility that had been for a long time, and been well used. She then felt bad, maybe these Catholic nutjobs were trying to help, in their own special way. Then she remembered that they weren't letting her leave, and all sympathy was out of the window. She also noticed that she couldn't feel the weight of her wallet in her pocket. As her anger rose the smell of food wafted through the air. When they walked into the room that the smell was coming from it was an unusual sight. The white-haired man stood at the obvious head of the table, and the glasses-wearing nuns and priest stood ridged around the room.

"Ah, Miss. Higurashi, so nice of you to join us," she noticed that he wasn't wearing shades anymore, and his vibrant violet eyes were bearing into her. It was unsettling. He also felt human, much like everyone in this room. "Please have a seat," he gestured to the chair at his immediate right, "Dinner will start soon." He moved to pull the wooden piece of furniture for her, and her side was abandoned by Yumiko. She found that she could stand on her own, which was nice. But all the eyes on her, she felt so exposed, she hugged the shawl closer as she walked towards the man. The sense of foreboding building with each step. As she sat down, she came to terms that she would most likely never see her family again. And they'll never know about her odd final days. "So nice to have you seated with us," she almost missed the man's words as she prayed for her family.

"Uh, thank you…" she trailed off, still deep in mourning.

"Maxwell, Enrico Maxwell," he extended his hand to be shaken, but she just stared at it until he lowered it.

"Maxwell, thank you for having me," her words were so hollow, as she came to terms with her death.

"Yes, these are quite odd circumstances, I do apologize that this is how we meet. I had hoped it would have been nicer." He crossed his hands and rested his chin atop of them.

"Life is weird that way," she reached out for the cup in front of her that was filled with water. Was it poisoned? Did she risk a sip?

"Yes, God blesses us to cross paths with the most unlikely people," his voice was hinting at something, and her already thin patience was at its end.

"Maxwell, I must be frank, am I going to die here? Because if so, I would like to skip the pleasantries," the man had the balls to look surprised, any aloofness gone from his face. Everyone around them also gained looks of shock.

"What? Oh no, you seem to have vastly misread the situation," he tried to smile at her, as if that would put her at ease. His smiles were natural, as it caused him pain to move those muscles.

"Really? You have a bunch of guards, knocked me out at least twice. By the way, thank you to whichever duo rescued me from the fire, and I'm mostly convinced that this food will be poisoned," she challenged, she wasn't dumb, or would she be led into a false sense of security.

"No, no, no," he sounded like he was comforting a child and it made her want to attack him, but she restrained herself because she couldn't fight off any of these people. "We wish to bring no harm to you. To do so would surely damn our souls to hell."

"What? The last people were more than happy to burn me at the stakes."

"That was a disgusting cult that perverts the image of His Almighty. We would never raise a hand in violence towards one truly blessed by God," the man reached for his own glass to take a sip, and the confident exterior that he had earlier was back.

"Okay," she blinked at him, and looked around the room, "You've lost me."

"Oh, Miss Higurashi, so humble," the room softly chuckled around her, it didn't help her anger. "You are the Great Priestess of the Jewel of the Four Souls," this caused her blood to freeze, her anger forgotten. "And mighty vanquisher of darkness that almost plagued the world. Truly, one of the last of God's chosen to be blessed with holiness above all humans."

"I think you have the wrong person," even she didn't sound convincing, but maybe they would let her leave if they thought they had the wrong person.

"Oh, no we don't. We have the records dating from the 1500s from early Catholic missionaries. An oddly dressed priestess, who traveled with a half-demon, a demon slayer, a monk, and two different demons, took down the threat of darkness known as Naraku and Magatsuhi, only seen in the likes of Lucifer." She stared at him with wide eyes, "Should I continue with what I have here?" He gestured to the piece of paper on the table, and she was trying to think of when she came across Catholic missionaries. But to be honest she had met a lot of people, and walked past a lot of people.

"What do you want?"

"To offer protection, though this offer is a bit loose. I insist that you accept protection from Iscariot," well that wasn't something that she expected to hear.

"No."

"What?"

"I don't need protection, whatever that entails. I was fully capable of taking care of myself before the cultist kidnapped me, and that was because I let myself be vulnerable, which is not happening again anytime soon."

"Hmm," the man snapped his finger, Kagome flinched and waited to be hurt. However, it didn't happen as a different nun came forward with a long box that was wrapped tightly with what looked like sigils. The aura inside was unmistakable, something she knew thought she would feel again. Amaterasu, the transformable bow that Sesshomaru had forged for her by Totosai. "I trust you recognize this?" She opened the box as if the sigils weren't holding it closed. She ignored the intense gazes as her weapons aura intertwined with hers. The silver lining gleamed in the dining room light. It looked a lot how she remembered, even down to her initials carved into the metal.

"What is giving me back my bow supposed to invoke?" Nothing in this world was for free and going off the box it had been sealed for easily over a couple hundred years. Did they take it off the battlefield after she was forced back to the future?

"Nothing, just a little something to, how do you say, sweeten the pot,"

"For me to accept protection, but you give me back my weapon, or was this part of something you didn't want to share until I agreed to be looked after?"

"I want you to accept our protection, as well as invite you to join Iscariot, and our goal of eliminating all filth that pollutes God's great creation," his zealous speech was back.

"Um, can I say no to both, and keep my bow? Because this is mine, and forged with my own blood, and useless to anyone that's not me." She could still feel the knife Totosai used to slice her arm open to drain her blood for the bow to mix into the silver mixture.

"Now, don't be so hasty. I can give you time to think it over," he continued before she could interject, and her bow was swiftly removed from her hands. "Let's break bread, no more talk of formalities. This is a great moment." The table quickly filled as the nuns and priests took seats, it actually felt a little claustrophobic. And her hands felt bare without her bow and she went back to holding the tail ends of her shawl. The sight in front of her felt surreal, as they got comfortable, even the mountain of a man, who sat across from her seemed more relaxed. The food was brought out swiftly, and they all made themselves plates. Someone took her plate and filled it for her. After everyone had their food in front of them they all stared at her expectant, and she looked at Maxwell confused, "Oh, please do the honors of saying grace. It's not every day we are in the presence of such a holy person."

"Uh," she had heard of the concept of grace in her religion class, she would try her best to comply. Best not to piss off her kidnappers, "Here's to unity and new beginnings...amen," she tacked on when she remembered the word.

"Amen," the table chorused around her before they started eating. She took a moment before joining, she hadn't eaten in like two days. It wasn't long until joyful conversation broke out, this put her somewhat at ease. There weren't creepy stoic religious people. She still needed to get away from them though.

Part 1 Done.

Don't worry, she's not getting away. I'm planning at least two more parts. This has been on my mind for a while and I wrote it. I'm so happy with it. I hope you all enjoy it, and hopefully, I will update more frequently. I have part two and three partially written through scattered notes. Thank you, any feedback is welcome and I wish everyone a safe New Years. Ja Ne~
