The Magical Trinity

Chapter 10: The Founders

The Great Link
Now in orbit over the new home world of the Founders, the 5 crew on the Thames set about contacting the massive cruiser to get the coordinates from their 'gods' as the crew of the cruiser saw the changelings, to a spot they could transport to.
In a few minutes, all 5 beamed down to what looked like an island surrounded by a gelatinous sea. Kira and Dax knew what the contents of the 'sea', so the trio were informed. Inward they knew through Q2's briefings who the founders were.
After a few moments, they all saw some movements then 3 points rise on the beach of the island who them formed into humanoid shapes then solidified to the familiar form of the founders or changelings Dax and Kira were familiar with. Both had a bit of hesitation until one finished forming and Kira Nerys ran and leaped into his arms. It was Odo, formerly the Chief of Security for Deep Space 9 and Kira's former lover.
Those around them waited quietly, observing for the reunion to conclude. The other 2 Shape-shifters seemed calm, but a slight bit of concern showed in their features, while Dax was smiling happily for her friends had reunited. The Trio watched and waited for them to finish.
When the two had finished their rather long embrace and kiss they realized their situation and separated though they kept their hands linked and both faced those around them. As they started to apologize for their display of affection Dax simply stated she was happy for them, while the Magical Trio nodded affirming their view as well. The only ones that seemed concerned were the other 2 Changelings, but before they could say anything Luna stepped up and started the conversation that needed to be said.
"I'm sorry to intrude on your communing as a single gelatinous state of being but we come with news about an intrusion in your quadrant that will affect you. This will be done by a race that you may know as the Borg "Luna continued. "These work our semi cyber attic Anne have a hive mind with a Queen. And they will go to whatever lengths to add more to their oneness to become perfect. You and I both know nothing is perfect. We're here to help you in getting ready to fight the Borg "
As she finished the 2 Founders (one male, one female) looked at each other, then one said," We know of the Borg and their incursions into the gamma quadrant. We also know so far that they have not been able to take anything from our areas. So, I don't think we would need any more help from those who we fought five years before "
Hermione then answered back, "But you see we are not from the Alpha quadrant of this reality. We are what you call quantum beings in the sense that we can manipulate matter at a quantum level instinctually. Now, what does this mean to you it simply means we use magic! I know you don't think that's real but let us demonstrate and then you'll see why. ".
With that all three then changed into their Animagus Forms, Harry into a large Griffin with the head and body of Eagle wings and all, Hermione into a Thunderbird with electricity arching between her wing feathers, and Luna whose form was the largest in that she was the size of a bison but looked like a Large menacing Feline with spike-like hair all around her, with a mane like growth of then around her neck. She kept her mouth shut as her form had toxic breath. They then reversed their forms back to their humanoid fairy forms (Remember their ears) and waited for their changeling's responses.
It wasn't long as the Founders knew these 3 weren't changelings like then yet these 'solids' had done a transformation usually done by their kind. But before the 2 could form a response the 3 magicals then transfigured the rock outcroppings into different types of furniture, then various known animals, then to some spherical and geometric objects then back to their original forms.
To say that the founders, Odo, and the 2 federation officers were stunned was a real understatement. Then Harry started to explain:" We were sent here from our reality to yours to help fix a mistake for being of even more power I've done here. If we help you with the Borg that fixes that problem, and we can go back to our reality. "Then he turned to Odo and Kira. "But we are here also to fix another mistake that's being made that if it is not fixed soon will render the destruction of the profit! "
That got Kira's attention. "So, this was your other mission not just to help the Founders with the board, but also to help measure and the prophets as well, is that why I needed to come here? "
Luna clapped and was looking at Hermione. "Oh, she must be tactically as smart as you were Hermione. "She then turned to the couple. "Yes, you two are an integral part, not only to what's happening in the Gamma quadrant here with the founders but also to the Prophets directly. That's all I can say for now but you and Odo have to go back to Deep Space 9 And the Wormhole.".
The Threat
As Odo and Kira were processing what Luna said Hermione And Harry stepped towards the 2 Founders. After Explaining what Luna said in a way they could understand, Hermione waved her hand and a round table with 8 seats materialized from thin air. All the non-magical beings were astounded as there was no sound nor visible wave of a transporter being used. After a few moments, all of them took a seat, the trio followed by Dax Kira and Odo with the 2 Founders rounding out the table.
The next few minutes were taken up by Harry Hermione and Luna
explaining the threat, the Borg were, the Teach they had to make those who might be assimilated fight off that threat and the Nanotech they could use to bring the Borg the reality of being defeated.
The female Founder Enquired: "Will this Nanotechnology be a final way
to deal with the Borg or a stop-gap measure?'"
After the trio looked at each other Hermione answered as she had the knowledge Q2 had given her. "Yes, in that encrypted within the quantum level the probes will make the Borg stop their expansion, now as they assimilate various cultures and technology this can be countered in the future! You. and the rest of the galactic powers should come up with a way not only to counter their response by then but also cripple their idea of a perfect society because we know that diversity breeds more views and in turn an increase in a society's advances in technology and way of life. What I mean is this can bring the idea to their Queen that perfection is not an achievable goal and that by assimilating a society and its Technology you are Countering that goal." While Luna and Harry were rolling their eyes at Hermione's explanation, the Founders, Odo, Kira, and Dax were contemplating what Hermione had said.
With that the discussion turned towards what the trio will give the Founders and that the Dominion will need to open relations with the Alpha Quadrant powers and to set up a defense against the Borg in all 3 Quadrants! Finally, The Trio explained that their other mission involved Odo and Kira.
The Conversation
As Kira and Odo look at each other digesting what Hermione had said they both knew this was going to change their lives. Kira had resigned herself to not seeing Odo again and had been just doing her duty for Bajor. Maybe it was something with her feelings for him, but she had been contemplating her change of career as this now becomes the main issue.
Odo was in a quandary, he had returned to the Great Link and the Founders to do as he was originally sent out to do add his experiences to the link and to mix and meld with the other Shapeshifters and had also been making sure the Antidote was received by every Changeling even those that were not on the planet, he made sure they melded with one who had the cure.
As both came back to the reality that what was to happen next would involve them, they both turned to the Trio for an explanation.
As Dax and the 2 Shapeshifters sat there with the Magicals, Odo, and Kira Hermione asked, "Do you mind that the 'Great Link' through these two, and Dax will hear this, or do you want our conversation to be made private? "She looked at Odo and Kira. Both looked at each other seemingly having a silent conversation then both nodded.
"Alright, do all here understand the concept of linear versus nonlinear existence "they all nodded, and she continued. "We as in all those here at this table and in this universe live in a linear existence or a timeline, we all are born, we all live our lives, and we all die. We also know that there are beings that we know that are nonlinear in existence. The "Q" for instance several others that we all have encountered either as a civilization or as a species. Live and never die. Does everybody agree with that? "Again, they all nodded, and she continued here" the profits on Bajor live a linear continuous existence so they can prophesize I'm sure Kira here agrees but every linear existence has a start not like ours at least a beginning it's just a start. Why we need Kira and Odo is quite simple they are That start, they are the progenitors of the profits. "
There was silence with stretched for almost 10 seconds until Dax replied, "Well that came out of left field." all turned to her confused as she elaborated. "A metaphor My Friend Benjamin would have appreciated." "Captain Sisko was a huge fan of an old earth game named baseball, we even played the game a year before the war was over against a group of Vulcans as Odo and Kira can attest" Both agreed, and she added. "Well, I can imagine Ben saying that as he is …well now with those Prophets as Kira would say and who we call the Wormhole aliens." She smiled as the rest digested that bit of comment.
"Thank you, Ezri but our Magical friends here might not have understood that metaphor as well as we have." Odo reminded the Trill officer.
"It's alright we have a similar nonmagical game called Cricket back home, but we understand the reference given where your friend is now," Hermione added.
As Hermione finished Kira finally spoke up as she pointed to the trio, "So you tell me I would need to have children for the prophets to exist? How can that happen, we are so different Physiologically, yes, we love each other but that has nothing to do with the physical situation my becoming pregnant with a shapeshifting child and our medical knowledge right now would not be able to keep that child or children in my womb? Am I right, Odo?" she looked at her lover.
Before he could answer Luna interjected. "Kira Nerys, have you had children before?" The bridge or an officer nodded, Luna continued. "Alright, you now have a womb which is used to having children, that's why we're here! We can help you and Odo conceive a child or children and because of the advantages of shapeshifting those children can grow much more quickly than in what the founders would say solids humanoid body. What I mean is when you conceive those children 4-5 weeks later you will go out into the wormhole and the wormhole will cease to exist for approximately 5 seconds, and then come back alive again your children will be joining Founders "
As all were astonished by Luna's revelation Kira started to cry. As Odo consoled her she called out to Luna Harry & Hermione, "I won't be able to raise them, to comfort them, to be a parent for them, I'll just be a baby factory I'm not sure I would like that." Odo agreed he would like to be a parent, as he was for a short time before the Dominion War was over when he tried to raise a shapeshifting youngling, who later died and gave up its shapeshifting abilities to Odo.
Of the 3 Harry surprisingly answered their concerns. "To answer your concerns let me ask you a question, who was Benjamin Sisko to Bajor?
"Kira answer 'the emissary of course everyone knows that."
"OK imagine if a new emissary was needed who better than the two beings who have a direct link to the prophets, that means you will have the same visions and at times mostly your children, but the other prophets will be visiting you and conveying information to Bajor."
He then turned to the two founders "The prophets will also be sending information to help through Odo for you, it seems you've piqued their interest. "
He laughed and their perplexed expressions, and Hermione added. "But this will not happen into Odo and Kira decide to do this as this was our other mission as well as to help you fight the Borg, but also to help the prophets because they will be key to this galaxy's future as well as those civilizations within it. "
He then got up took his friend's hands and promptly disappeared to theory shuttle leaving Odo, Kira, Dax, and the 2 founders to discuss what had been said. Harry knew they had done what they had to do now it was up to those involved to decide!
Decisions and Afterthoughts
After an hour of talks, all of the diplomatic agreements were set up with a long-distance communique sent Dax left for the Thames to talk to the trio about all this, while the 2 Founders said goodbye to Kira and nodded to Odo before they walked into the gelatinous sea that was the Great link and with a Disembodied glop sank into the sea to commune with their brethren.
That left Kira and Odo on the still conjured Chairs and table sitting next to each other staring at the now twilight sky.
As Kira was snuggled onto her now rejoined lover she asked, "Well you heard them it seems it's up to us to make sure the profits exist. That is hard to comprehend given I've been praying to them all my life I have thought them to be gods, I still do but how can you and I be the parents of God's?"
"Logically, it is hard to comprehend solid shapeshifter can have children, yet it seems we are destined to! I don't like anyone or thing making us do things, but I do love you so if this happens, we will have contact not only with our children but those in the wormhole who comes before during, and after if you think of it linearly. Odo laughs.
Kira sighed then she answered, "I birthed Yoshi for the O'Brian's before but this, I mean these children will be ours and I for one am happy now that I know what happening it makes me feel content, so I'm guessing you in on this with me?"
"Yes of course and it allows me to be with you and them, though I am not thrilled about those visions as Captain Sisko didn't think highly of them. "
She smiled and kissed him, "This also makes my decision to join the Religious order pretty much a done deal." She remembered Jake Sisko saying that once. She also wondered if this new adventure would make them distant relatives. She shook her head this idea was for after the mission was done.
As they sat wondering of their future the Prophets back in the wormhole were pleased, The Borg had no inkling what was going to happen and Q2 and family were setting into their next home.
Chapter 11: Back to the Wormhole
As the crew with escort warp back to the wormhole, it seems Odo and Kira trying to conceive, and that influences our Magical Trio!
