I really wish the show showed more of these two interacting. I don't own Jimmy, and thanks for putting up with me. Also, I found an error in this that I had to fix. Sorry!

It happens unexpectedly. One moment they are eating popcorn and painting their toenails. The next, Libby clears her throat and says. "So, you and Neutron, are you like a thing now?"

Cindy gawps at her best friend. "I don't...I don't.." she stutters.

"Do you think I haven't noticed how weird you've been lately? That you've been hanging out with him more? Or how you look at him when you think he's not looking? Cind, I want you to be honest with me. It's okay. I promise I won't tell."

She thought no one knew about her little visits down to the lab. But her friend was very observant. She always had been. She was the first one even to guess that Cindy's feelings for the boy went beyond hatred.

"I pinky promise I won't tell," Libby repeats seriously.

She swallows loudly. "Yes, okay? I mean, I think so."

Libby beams at her. "It's about time, girl! When did this happen?"

"Do you remember the night we ended the news broadcast show?"

"Yeah," Libby answers.

She looks down at the carpet, dragging her fingers through its pilled surface. Feeling the way it scratches against her fingertips. She takes a deep breath and steels herself for the words about to leave her mouth. "He kissed me."

"He what?" Libby chokes.

"Kissed me," she can feel herself blushing. "And things just evolved from there. But honestly, Libby, it's not official or anything. He's just invited me over a few times, and I mostly help him with his inventions. There hasn't been any more talk of what that night meant. I'm not even really sure that he thinks of me that way."

"I thought you were smart, girl. Do you think boys go running around kissing people they don't like?"

"I don't know. Things between Neutron and I are complicated. I am a little afraid of what would happen if people found out. This is all so new."

"Cindy," Libby's soft voice says, "I promise even if people do find out, it won't be as bad as you think. Everyone knows you two like each other." At this, Cindy's head snaps up so fast that Libby bursts out laughing. "Girl, your face is priceless!"

"Did you just say that-?"

"Everyone in Retroville knows you two like each other? Yeah, Cindy."

"Oh," she answers, bringing her gaze back to the carpet.

"Now you've got to tell me about that kiss…."

Cindy blushes fervently, and Libby laughs.
