Cinderpelt puffed a sigh as she left Firestar's den. The fire and tiger omen was worrying, certainly, but as she had predicted, Firestar had taken it the opposite way she had. Normally, she would have added her own real suspicions to the discussion, but in this instance, she felt that it could have worsened things rather than improved them.
And if she was right, then there wasn't much even the great Firestar could do to stop it.
Still, it was nice to have her reading of the omen confirmed when she explained it to Ferncloud the next day.
"What, you give it a moon, maybe two?" Ferncloud mused.
Cinderpelt kneaded the ground thoughtfully, then replied, "After they get back? Yeah, a moon."
After all, Firestar didn't need the added stress of thinking his daughter was in love with the tom that Firestar irrationally panicked around.
"I'm sure their kits will be adorable."
"Do you think Firestar will cause a fuss?" Cinderpelt asked, though she was fairly sure she already knew the answer.
Ferncloud snorted, eyes glimmering with good humour, and voiced Cinderpelt's earlier thought: "StarClan themselves can't stop true love. And even if they could, no one and nothing can stop Squirrelpaw from getting her way."
