Berserk good old days

When Gut's woke up he was surprised to be laying in the bed without the Berserker armor. he looked at his hand that was so use to being mechanical although that might still happen due to him breaking it testing the armor.

'Hmmm I've been in the armor so much...I don't think I've ever been out of the armor...strange my nerves they feel dulled…' Guts thought when suddenly the door bashed open to a rather drunk member of the band of the hawk and his buddy making Guts irritated.

What made it worse was it was his own regiment.

"Ahh haha lets bring the party here to!" The guy hanging over barely said vocally as slurs voices themselves more than syllable. The other guy laughing heartily and clunk the two mugs together "yea!"

Suddenly they were cut out by a rush of air and as they looked to the door frame they saw a bolt sticking out from the wall

They followed the path and looked noticing a very irritated Guts holding his crossbow in his left hand and holding it up with his right although not very well as they still noticed his arm shaking due to the weight. However the glare was as strong as ever.

"Umm per-perhaps we should go join the others…" the more sober of the two said as they turned around

"R-right. G-get better captain see you on the training field." The other said making it very hard to tell who was the more sober of the two.

After they left Gut's arm followed hitting the bed "damn." He said as he realized how weak he was

However his voice overlayed with another in the room "damn idiots."

Guys looked over to the left to find Sherkie sitting by a desk reading several books by the lamp

"Huh didn't expect you to be here." Guts said

"Well you are my patience." Sherkie said very professionally almost making Guts think it was His Sherkie from before. But he quashed that notion at a look at his arm.

"I just...I didn't think you would just remain separate from a group." Guts said

Sherkie stood up and smiled at Guts.

"Well despite being a pagan which par for the course is thrown raunchy parties for the gods...I've never actually been a party type of girl." Sherkie said as she walked over to Guts

"Let me see the arm." She said as she yanked the crossbow off and threw it to the side not caring if it broke. And yanking Guts arm over across his body earning a "hey!" For both

"Oh relax Ricket can make you another one easy." She said making Guts pause "ricket?"

After a moment of silence he said "you...started to remember." He said but Sherkie shook it off

"No it's only your memories I saw everyone including people we haven't met but you have but I'm not her. I don't think I will be." Sherkie said

"Don't count yourself out Sherkie." Guts said making the witch look up

Guts was grinning "you defeated Wyald in single combat. Not even I could do that if you remember. Your right your not the Sherkie I know...your better...your apart of the band of the hawk." Guts said

Sherkie smiles as her heart flutters with the kind words before getting serious and poking Guts arm "Now Ivalera has donated some dust from her wings to give you this powder." She said as she sprinkled the powder on like table salt before rubbing his shoulder in a circular pattern guts rolled his head back feeling the soothing ability of the Fae kick in. "Oh that's good." He said

Sherkie smiles and said " you'll be better in the morning but im restricting you to not use dragonslayer for a week to until it heals. I know I know once it's healed I'll brew you a potion so you can train with it and get back on track from your week of missed training." Sherkie said as she turned back to the desk

"Thanks Sherkie." Guts said with a kind smile for taking care of him and is attitude.

Sherkie rolled her eyes playfully and said "workaholic." As she bent forward and gave him a kiss on the cheek "but your my workaholic." She said and left the room to give Guts some rest.

Sherkie headed out and closeted the door and was bumped into Caska who had her arms crossed.

"Oh Caska I didn't see you there." She said

"I kinda figured otherwise you wouldn't have kissed Guts on the cheek." She said

"Oh Caska I'm so-sorry I-." Sherkie said but was cut off by the older women

"It's not a problem, I trust you, Guts is a good man, and I hope you will give him a choice." Caska said

"If guts decides to choice you over me I will accept it, I've set myself up for failure at that." Sherkie said as she lowered her head recalling the Gut's memories and feelings of Caska.

Caska put a hand on her shoulder, "you will be fine, I don't hate you, I also want you to be happy." She said as she walked off,

Sherkie watched her walk away as she headed to the bed chambers probably to sleep for the night.

Sherkie sighed as she headed to where the loud roaring of humans were,

She walked down the stairs and headed to the main hall where the party the band of the hawk were celebrating were at.

Sherkie entered and noticed all the band of the hawk mostly drunk, very few were not drunk, mainly Griffith, Ricket, Pippin, and Jadeau, that's not to say that everyone but them were blackout drunk, many of them were just tipsy, most of them however were those of Guts hawks Raiders group, probably because they know there training will still occur tomorrow no matter if your drunk or sober, Gut's training will not wait.

Sherkie sighed and walked down the stairs and headed to the table where many of the drinks were being served. As she sat down, the mercenary behind the bar turned to her as the one. Sitting next to her turned to her,

"Oh I didn't think you were one for a drink." The man teased her

Sherkie glared at him "I bet I can hold my liquor better than you." She said

Sounds of "oohs and groans" were heard, as the man growled to the guy. "Give me a refil." He said not turning away from Sherkie who responded with balls.

"Give me the biggest Mug you have, and the strongest alcohol you have." She said

An unknown time has passed as Sherkie has finished her 5th giant mug while the other guy only made it to two before he passed out.

"That was good." Alright I'm good for the night see you Guys," she said as she hopped down without a stumble and headed over to the stairs when she suddenly nearly pitched forward

She was lucky caught by an armored arm "careful even if you are trying to show off you need to keep a firm head." A gentle voice said

Sherkie looked up and found herself looking eye to eye with Griffith, "the White hawk…" she said dazed

"Hmm?" Griffith tilted his head unsure how to respond,

Sherkie regained her balance and stood back up. "Oh Pardon me haha ah such a clutz." She said

"Griffith smiled "it's quiet alright do you mind a walk with me for a bit." Griffith said

Sherkie nodded and followed Griffith to the balcony.

"So how is Guts," Griffith asked

"He's good, a workaholics but good, he should be ready and able to overlook training in the morning," Sherkie said

"Yes that is very good." Griffith said before he looked to her, "you like him don't you," he said

Sherkie sighed and said "I feel I'm too young to actually get into liking someone, however despite this I feel attached to him, I don't know." She said

"Is that wrong?" Griffith asked

"If his heart belongs to another trying to separating those bonds will only caused the two to grow closer to each other." She said

"Guts and Caska." Griffith said

"I'm not jealous." Sherkie said making Griffith look down at her,

"If they're happy, they are happy. I'm not gonna stop them." She said

Griffith smiled, "yes I can see why Guts feels a kinship towards you...perhaps something more." He said as he turned to the castle

"Goodnight Sherkie." He said

"Yea...night…" Sherkie said watching Griffith leave.

Sherkie looked out to the moon and the wind blew at her face, she pressed her cloak to her body, to give her warmth, as that was the only covering on her skin she wore.

Sherkie decided to follow Caska and go to bed. "Damn I'm tired."

Sherkie got under the covers and sighed her heart was in a flutter and she smiled, despite all she had been through and all the horrors she know to expect from being with Guts, she can't help but be happy.

The next day Sherkie woke up she heard groans and clashing of metal, as she woke up she walked out onto the balcony and saw the Hawks Raiders in the courtyard training with Guts covered in bandages and a normal shirt and pants, watching the training of his troops.

Sherkie was silent thinking Guts was just watching with approval and wasn't gonna push himself, until he smacked the stones and yelled out to them.

"YOU CALL THAT TRAINING YOUR RUNTS! I can work up more of a sweat with one arm and my dagger! I don't care if your drunk, the entire Band is wasted it's up to us The Best of the Best to protect them until they can preform what Griffith Wishes!" Guts yells

Sherkie looked down the field clearly wondering how the Raiders would take the harsh words and was surprised when she noticed anyone who was before on the ground had gotten up and fought there training partner with twice as much fury, clearly the words worked.

Guts huffed and sat back "keep it up if I see you slacking off for even a little bit I'll come down there myself." He said as he walked down into the dining hall, ingnoring Sherkie, or at least she thought before Guts put pat her head, saying "thanks."

Inside Doldrey, Guts sat down and started to serve himself some food while Caska joined him across the table,

"Don't you think it's cruel to push them so much?" Caska asked

"Believe me if I was able to I would join them but I'm trying to keep Sherkie happy and not push myself." Guts said Caska looked at Guts

"As a healer she is invaluable, I would hate for her to be angry at me and refuse to treat me in the middle of battle." Guts said

Caska stares at guts in shock before bursting out laughing, "you...oh you innocent idiot!" She said

"What was that?" Guts growled.

"Nothing, I should go and check on my troops," Caska said standing up

Guts shook his head, "crazy women…" he said 'But at least not insane.' He thought as he finished eating and went to join his own troops in the courtyard,

The courtyard was filled as Guts walked out with screams and calls of people pushing there limits as he noticed that on everyone's faces they were sweating profusely. Clearly they were trying to either impress him or pushing themselves to improve, he admired there drive but it didn't mean he was gonna give them any break.

"AND REST!" Guts yelled

All of a sudden you could instantly tell anyone of Gut's ranks from the other band of the hawk as a quarter of the people dropped to their knees. Lost there breakfast, or had a coughing fit, losing there weapons and looking drained, the other half looked at Guts and looked ready to fight him and ready to win, determined, skilled, and deadly loyal.

Guts looked over and for once in his life took pity on those in the band of the hawk not in the raiders. "Anyone who is too tired to move head back inside and get your drinks and food." He said

To any other members it was a kindness, but those who worked with Guts knew just what sort of ultimatum it was. 'If you take this do not come back, we won't accept you,'

Gut's word had the desired effect as those who he noticed fell to their knees coughing or dropped their swords left, all but one,

Guts looked at the boy who was no older than 14, still on his knees panting, Guts thought he was too weak to move and started to approach him to help him up and send him in,

However he was surprised when a grunt was heard and the boy stood on his feet two shaking and swaying, but still determined. Guts also noticed he was not usually apart of the hawks raiders,

"You know I don't see it as a weakness if you have to leave…" Guts said which was a blatant lie and everyone In the Hawks raiders knew it, but they said nothing

"Bullshit," the boy said shocking Guts yet again.

"You calling me a liar Son?" Guts asked looking mighty furious that he was being pegged a lier,

"Think what you want to think, but I know the raiders. And I'm gonna prove I belong here, even if I have to fight you yourself to prove it." He said looking right at Guts and looked ready to fight him.

"Heh, your funeral." Guts said although secretly happy he passed his test, only certain people in the Band of the hawk were able to join, because of how brutal the training was, anyone not strong enough were likely to die in training, Griffith even banned people from joining Gut's raiders without overseeing them first themselves before they participated in the training program.

However due to the celebration Griffith was lax and didn't check which was why so many people were at the training ground this morning that were not Gut's normal troop, usually they get a new recruit once a month.

"Alright EVERYONE TIME FOR TRAINING I see your all in gear I WANT 5 laps around Doldrey full gear!" Guts yelled.

Not even a groan escaped the Men as they broke into a run or jog. Guts looked at Gaston and nodded, who pulled the boy aside and walked over to Guts,

"I don't think I need to tell you to not be last!" Guts said as everyone broke into a full sprint.

Guts walked over to the boy and sat down, "don't worry you won't be going on the run today, that's fine, Both of us are gonna check you down," the second in command Said

Guts sat down, as Gaston started asking questions

"Who was your commander before coming here?"

"Caska." He said

Both Guts and Gaston looked at each other, her infamy is for being a fought commander is just as much as Guts, her only differences is that Caska has "a heart" as the masses say. Which is untrue, Guts also has a heart, he's just willing to beat you up more, to make sure you can live, he would rather you be alive hating him then dead respecting him. And is willing to push his. Troops to make sure.

"Ok does She know about you being here?" He asked

"No." The kid said

Big oof in Gut's mind. He respected and even loved Caska, amd damn was the women competitive, if she heard that someone transferred over to him without her knowing, especially if it was one of her own she would flip. But not only that, but usually people who don't inform there previous commanders about transfers to Gut's group, usually try to join because of selfish and halfass gains, and that's something Guts doesn't tolerate, 'selfishness gets you distracted, Getting distracted means you get killed, if you get killed the entire group is threatened.' Guts said in his own words.

"Alright, so why do you wanna join Gut's raiders?" Gaston asked

"I wanna join to get stronger so I can protect those who can't for themselves." He said with determination,

"Gaston was about to ask something else but Guts towered over the boy and glared at him.

"Did anybody challenge you to try to join our ranks?" He asked

He notices after he came back and started to train his unit again there when there was downtime, Guts noted people making bets to see if they could sneak into training with "the best" and Many of those who were drunk that previous night and had joined them, were the ones who died.

The boy looked at Guts straight in the eyes not afraid at all and said "No Sir."

Guts bent down to look deep into his eyes. "What's your name?" Guts asked

"Alex." The kid said

"Do you Alex plan to give it your all to the point you will keep fighting if your own arm is off and your comraid isn't dying on your shoulder?" He asked

"I'd carry him on my back." Alex said.

Guts straighten up and smiled, "if I wasn't injured I'd bring you to the battlefield and face you right now, to prove it, however you got at least a week freebie until your test, use it well…" Guts said as he walked off,

"Wait does that?..." the kid asked

"Congrats kid, for now at least you can train with us, however slack off at once and you're out." Gaston said

The kid nodded "I'll gather my gear and join the Rest on the run." He said

"Guts told you you don't need to worry…" Gaston said

"Yea...but I don't want to seem weak in front of him now, I'm gonna go, and I won't get last." He said as he headed off.

"Well he's got balls." Gaston said

"Yes...now to level this with Caska…" Guts said.

"So that's where he went huh?" Caska said as she put down her mug

"Yes." Guts nodded

"Well that's not surprising, for the past week or so Alex has been the first one up of the group, and I'll admit I was not surprised when I walked in this morning to find his bed empty I was though to find he wasn't in the dining hall." Caska said

"I'll be honest I was gonna transfer him to Griffith to check over maybe give a command of his own, he's good, and experienced, he will be a good fit with you." Caska said

"Well first he has to get thought training." Guts said

"Your already putting him through training?" Caska asked

"No he did it himself." Guts said

Caska looked impressed, as Guts stood up, "still I don't wanna give them any ideas, Gaston doesn't push them enough, I should be getting back to them." He said as he left,

Caska chuckled at the irony, Gaston was a fine trainer, and takes a lot after Guts he was clearly sugarcoating words about Gaston,

Still Guts made it to the courtyard and saw the first people coming in from there laps. Guts was extremely surprised to note that despite being a later start, Alex wasn't last, although had a lot to prove with just being one ahead. But still impressive,

"Alright strength training get to it!" Guts said before a loud voice called over them

"Halt!"

Guts looked over and sighed "you've gotta be kidding me." He muttered, out from the deserts near the lake was Farnese and Sipico in there holy Chain Knight's uniforms.

"We are the holy chain knights, looking for the Outlaw known as the black swordsman. As a Band of knights yourself your right to comply to help us look for him." Farness said.

Guts sloped down, 'was she really trying to pull rank on another mercenary band?' Fortunately Griffith made it to the gate and tapped Guts on the shoulder,

"I'll handle this, you head back into Doldrey and continue training in the courtyard," he said

Guts nodded as he noticed Sherkie sitting behind Griffith on his horse. Guts lead his Raiders into Doldrey much to Farness expenses,

"HALT!" She said "why are they not listening to me?" She said "um Commander?" Sipico said pointing to Griffith who was approaching them.

Griffith stopped his horse infront of Farness but didn't get off, as he looked down at her. Turning his horse to face her. She noticed Sherkie and winced,

Griffith stared at the Holy chain knights, before saying, "tell me, what does the Enforcement of the Holy See want with The Band of the Hawk?" He said

This started many conversations. Among the troops. And Farness spoke "as command by the Vatican we are hunting on the Outlaw The Blackswordsmen, I'd like to know if you have seen him or have encountered him, or anyone with heretical ties…" she said

Sherkie winced as those words left her mouth. As she wanted nothing more than to shrink away and hide,

"I'm afraid I do not know of any heretics living around Doldrey at this time." Griffith said

"And are you perhaps forgetting your companion who is a Witch behind you? Perhaps you are housing him as well?" Farness said

Griffith's eyes narrowed, "Sherkie is among the Band of the Hawk, and is as such a member, if your trying to say my band is harboring fugitives of the faith. Perhaps it's best if you don't accuse the warheroes of the hundreds years war…" he said

Farness was about to retort before Sipico stepped forward, "my apologies for my commanders harsh words, we have been on this what some would describe "wild goose chase" for some time." He said

"Yes I see but no the black swordsman is not here, good day." He said as he trotted off back to doldrey,

"Were you successful?" Griffith asked

"Yes, I implanted the idea that Guts is indeed in Doldrey, we will be able to corner Farness and Sipico and "restore" them." Sherkie said

Griffith said "very good now to tell Guts the plan." He said

(Later in Griffiths room)

Guts put down his mug on the table and put his hands under his head the commanders were with Griffith as well.

"I don't like this…" Corkus said

"Why are they so important anyway The Holy See isn't gonna like us taking away there best troops." Jadaeu said.

"Yes but in the other timeline, Farness was training as a Witch, and one of her specialties was healing. And Sipico was a very good swordsmen fighting Guts to a draw both times they fought." Sherkie said explaining it in the technicality.

" it's gonna be hard for my troops to accept it, they're normally the ones on night shift, and will be restless during the night, about an attack." Guts said

"Then I suggest you work them to the bone so they rest instead." Griffith said

Everyone looked at Griffith like he was insane, Guts also but Gaston nodded

"Captain...we can handle it." He said

Guts sighed, "Gaston go to the others and get them ready for a second round of training, I want you to take Alex and train him personally, he is not to join in this excersie." Guts said

Gaston shuddered and nodded leaving the room, as Guts turned to Sherkie

"I'll need your help for this…" he said with a wolffish grin, making everyone in the room subconsciously shudder.

(Courtyard)

"ALRIGHT LISTEN UP!" Guts yelled at his Raiders who were lined up ready to fight.

"Today we are going over fighting monsters." Guts said

"I know we defended Doldrey from the attack, however Sherkie helped you, and while she is a powerful spellcaster, in a battle she will most likely be doing other things." Guts said

Everyone in Gut's raiders hung onto every word,

"Theses battles you will face will not be easy, I expect several people to be having broken bones, by the end of this, however Sherkie has assured me she will heal each and everyone of you after." He said

The Raiders shuddered, they wondered why Sherkie was here.

"When you fought to defend Doldrey you fought several Apostles facing 2 or 3 on 1 odds. This time everyone is gonna be fighting there own Apostle! And we will help you when it comes time to take the attack to those who attacked us!" Guts said

The training went as expected, Sherkie summoned several Monsters who were comparable to lesser Apostles, as she was being nice, and found that many of the Raiders didn't even break a sweat in destroying them, Guts reprimanded her for going easy, so Sherkie didn't and summoned several monsters Guts faced before, and again with good results, no one died, but everyone was tired,

"Alright! Trainings done, all of you get ready for bed, we are not taking Night watch tonight." Guts said.

Everyone groaned and fell to there knees and sighed, this was honestly the worst training session they had yet, even for the veterans they were dazed, and knowing Guts if he was able they would face him with dragonslayer.

Guts nodded as he noticed everyone trudge up the stairs to sleep. He sighed as he looked off to the distance desert and treelike before heading inside,

(Treeline)

Looking through a spyglass the looker focused on Guts walking away, "I knew it."

The looker put away the spy glass to reveal Farness gritting her teeth, "the commander was hiding The Black Swordsman, that and containing a witch is sure to sentence The band of the hawk as heretical." Farness said

Behind her Sipico and Azan talking in whispers. "I hope she knows exactly what she is insinuating if she takes this up and happens to lose her argument, the Holy Iron Chain Knights could be finished," Azan said.

"She has control of the situation...I hope…" Sipico said under battered breaths.

"Sipico, you and I will infiltrate the castle, a smaller strike team will have less chance of being spotted." She said

"But Commander wha-!?" Azan spoke,

"We will come back tomorrow morning Azan you hold camp until our return and prep the prisons." Farness said

"I-...yes commander," Azan bowed his head in defeat,

"Very good soon we will deceiver the black swordsman and the heretical witch to Mozgus, come Sipico let us prepare." She said

(Nightfall)

As the sun set and the only lights around were alit by Doldrey and no guards were posted, Farness and Sipico In cloaks rushed out into the desert to the castle.

They made there way and stood against the wall looking up. They will have to scale it. Farness looked over to see the only light that was there was a room, and the black swordsman was there.

Farness covered her mouth to keep from gasping and both hid in the shadows as Guts turned away,

"This is it, that window there. We scale Inside and apprehend them." Farness said Sipico nodded and handed Farness a rope which she flung over the window and hooked on,

"Let's go." She said as they climbed up,

They snuck into the now dark room and looked around for any sign of The outlaw or the witch.

"Took you a while to show up." A voice said off to the left in the shadows

Farness gasped as suddenly a ball of light was flashed to reveal Guts. Sitting comfortable on the bed,

"We almost thought you wouldn't show up." A second voice said this one more younger and female, as Sipico noticed the Witch,

"We're surrounded its highly advisable we retreat." He said

"Yes, highly advisable however I'm afraid we are not gonna let you." A third voice said as Griffith stood by the door with several crossbowmen.

However despite being invaded by two thieves Griffith smiled. "Would you mind joining me for a walk?" He asked

As Griffith, Sherkie and Guts lead Farness and Sipico around, they finally reached the main hall.

"Now this is where the tour ends...perhaps." Griffith said

"What do you mean?" Farness said

"I'm gonna be blunt I know you guys, even if you don't, we've traveled together and done some amazing things on adventures, I can remind you of them. And if your willing you can join us again." Guts said

"Pfff as if we were to join a band of criminals fuck off!" Farness said

However scipio was more negotiable,

"And if we refuse?" He asked

"If you stand by your word to not interfere with the Band of the Hawk's business you walk right out of the front gate back to your army in the woods, and that's it, if you do resist however." Griffith said and for added effect the crossbowmen raises there weapons again.

Farness was silent almost trying to figure out a way she could escape but nothing was coming to her,

"I accept." Sipico said.

"Sipico!?" Farness gasped

"Farness This man figured our plan out, trapped us, and says he knows us to the point that any of our future plans will be null and I'll suited, from just his interactions with us. If he has that kinda knowledge he's better an ally than enemy." He explained to her,

Farness sighed and finally relented,

"Fine I'm not gonna leave you alone if you do it so will I." She said

Sherkie smiled, "very well if you can please sit down here we can begin."

(A few moments later)

Farness sat up and rubbed her head "ow what happened I feel like I was hit by a bucket of bricks.,." She said before her memories flashed of all she experienced, she looked around and found Sherkie with a hand on her shoulder,

" mistress!" Farness gasped as she remembered there previous journey,

"I-umm...where are we?" She asked looking around,

"Doldrey, the possible last hope of midland. Which is garrisoned by the band of the Hawk." Sherkie explained,

"Right right...now I remember I lead a mission with the Sipico to capture you can Guts. Ugh this is confusing." She said

Sherkie gripped her disciples shoulder, "don't try to force them, it's best if they sort themselves out, you should head to bed, in the morning your memories will be well sorted.

Farness nodded and headed to be Along with the rest of the band of the hawk,

(The next morning)

Farness woke up and found that She had balanced everything as well as she could, what with the time travel being overlapping. But it was passable, Farness looked over and found by her desk in her room was Sipico sleeping In the chair, the sun shining on his face but not waking him.

Farness smiled at the scene.

Once Sipico awoke both of them went to talk to Griffith.

"So Um commander Griffith?" Farness asked not exactly sure about the eddicate.

Griffith Turned around, "yes Lady Farness is there something I can help you with?" He asked

"No...well-yes...well-ahh sorry it's confusing...both of us Still want to travel with Guts. However the Holy Chain knights are still my command responsibility, we also don't know if you would have us in the band of the hawk." Farness said.

Griffith smiled.

"I'm assuming you know about the kidnapping of Charlotte right and the death of the king?" Griffith asked

"Correct the Holy See is trying its best to keep back the Kuchans but every fight is just more and more losses." Farness said

Griffith smiled. "Once we have enough forces we will go on the offensive with the Kuchan." If you would join the Band of the Hawk we would be happy to have you." Griffith said.

Farness looked up, and then to Sipico and Guts, who smiled,

Turning back to Griffith Farness bowed. "The holy Chain knights will gladly join the Band of the Hawk to fight against The kuchan." She said.

"Well I take it you can inform your own troops, Captain Farness." Griffith said as he walked away, with Caska following behind him.

"I still don't know why we didn't just kill them." She said

"There Guts friends...besides there your friends too remember." Griffith said

"Sense the fucking eclipse didn't happen to us I only have passing memories of them yes Sherkie showed me what happened but it was like looking into a pond to see yourself, although I guess that's how it felt at the time too." Caska said,

"Are you trying to convince me or yourself?" Griffith asked with a smile.

Caska sighed and turned to him "I don't know...I'm just confused." She said

"Would you like to talk to Sherkie I'm sure she could help you." Griffith said

"I don't want to impose." Caska said

"You know I can order you to, it's not good having one of my best commanders distracted on the field and getting lives killed because of it." Griffith said

Caska looked up and nodded "yes Griffith...Ok I'll go find Sherkie." She said

Griffith smiled and looked out over the balcony when they arrived to see Farness and Sipico riding out into the forest.

(Holy Knight camp.)

Azan heard the beating of hooves and looked up to see Farness and Sipico returned,

"Commander!" Azan jumped up and saluted as they both got off and realized there were no prisoners,

"Umm commander where are the prisoners." He asked

"Change of plans we are integrating with the Band on the Hawk I want this camp scrubbed clean and ready to move out in 2 hours." She said

"But Farness what about…" Azan said

"The Holy See isn't winning the war with The Kuchan, and are in no position to hunt down traitors, or do you remember this was an unsanctioned mission to hunt down the G-I mean The Black Swordsman." Farness said

Azan raised his eyebrow as he noticed the slip up fortunately Sipico spoke up to save the day,

"Perhaps we should talk about this in the command tent."

Farness nodded and the three left to speak alone,

'Now remember with your magick you should be able to give Azan the memories as well, I'm not sure about the other knights but Azan will be a major help.'

Farness and Azan spoke and after a tense argument Farness was able to remind Azan, who took it quite in stride,

"Ah I see…Well Lady Farness I shall make sure the orders are given out." Azan said as he stood up and walked away,

(Guts)

Guts watched as today all of the Band of the Hawk were going over training with there different companies, Guts and his raiders were on the Far west side courtyard. Caska and her troops named the honor-guard. Practiced nearby,

Jadue and his scouts were in the courtyard training with their stealth, range and intel gathering capability,

Corkus and his troops were in the front and on the wall they were delighted the "grenadiers." And focused on maintaining and firing the Cannons in case of a siege.

Pippin and his heavy Armored Cavalry unit trained. In the desert riding in formation with there lances and doing jousts with one another,

On the Wall of the keep Griffith watched as the other group the first group that joined the band when they attacked Doldry was waiting for orders from him as to what there training will be,

Griffiths army was nicknamed "the Beak." Being the most dangerous part of a hawk it seemed to fit, and while Caska's unit was nicknamed the honor guard it was technically untrue because it had too many numbers. Guts, Caska, Pippin each held in command enough to be figured Small armies, and with Griffiths "Beak" and now the Holy Chain knights, the Band of the Hawk was much less a band but more like The Grand Army of the Hawk.

Griffith smiled he felt he would actually be close to being able to take the attack to the Kuchan's and Giniska soon. He just needed to get the Holy chain knights into shape, from what Guts had told them, they were like a wooden palisade flimsy, flexible, but uncoordinated, it was no surprised Guts with the dragon slayer was able to take out a 3rd of there numbers with his first encounter with them.

Griffith looked up and noticed the Holy Chain knights heading for the Gates of Doldry

"Corkus Open the Gate!" Griffith said Corkus saluted and personally cranked the gate draw wheel to open the gate and let the Order of Knights into the castle.

"We might need to get more stables soon," Griffith said under his breath, before he announced to both groups in the courtyard, there orders,

"Both of you are to train together in your own training regime to get the idea as to what you both are capable of, once you've done your style you will do the others, as for the holy Chain knights your ceremonial armor you are in now are fine for training we are getting our blacksmith working hard of fabricating more suitable arms and armor for the field." Griffith said

Farness said before she addressed her men "you head the commander Prepare for the training!" She said as She, Azan and Serpico. Dismounted and started to train, with the knights of the order following, there own personal training,

Griffith noticed this and realized both units were a very good pick for infantry and front line work being both flexible and seeing as not many actually have horses, they were very generalized for ground combat.

After a day of training Griffith felt confident of there place in his Army. Soon it would be time and they would finally go on the offensive and take back there home of Midland.

Not much action but nessessary very soon we will have good action surprisingly I have a different thought process when writing Berserk compared to any other story (even my own book)

Where in any other story when I do write any scene it's a way to get to the next battlefield and set peice. And for the beginning I wrote it that way too. I don't like the first two chapters which are heavy into 100 years war because of it. Now I'm writing the battle stuff quickly to get into the mellow life aspects of Guts and the new happy version of the Band of the Hawk. And there new version of Falconia ( the online translation I read of berserk says that's Griffiths capital and changed the name from band of the hawk to band of the falcon but I like hawk better so I'm keeping the iconic name damn it!)

Anyways end of rant enjoy the chapter I'll try to get the next one out as quickly as possible keep reading -bankerrtx01/G. -
