SIREN CALL
Bobby was against the hood of the car waiting for Alexandra.
She was at her appointment with the psychiatrist following the abduction she had undergone.
He wanted to know how it went and if it really helped.
He knew that even though Alexandra told him everything was fine, he could see that it wasn't necessarily the case.
But he knew that as usual, she didn't like to rest on someone else's shoulders.
Even if it was him.
He heard the door close, Alexandra's footsteps coming down the front steps.
He looked at her.
She was really very pretty.
Since the pregnancy she had taken some forms, and it suited her wonderfully.
He recovered now was not the time.
- Bobby? What are you doing here ?
Alex didn't expect to see him here.
It particularly touched her.
He was really very caring towards her.
- I came to take you home! He looked away, not daring to look at her. I have to go to a crime scene! And as you are on my way ...
So like that, he was going to a crime scene without her!
Didn't he think she was strong enough?
- I need to work Bobby! She looked at him stubbornly. I'm coming, and I know being in your company can only help me heal!
Bobby didn't even try to insist.
He knew very well that it would be pointless.
When Alex had decided on something, nothing could change her mind! Except when he begged her with a look!
But now he knew it wouldn't work!
- As you wish !
He handed her the keys to the car, which she took.
Their fingers intertwined, they looked at each other.
Damn it !
Did he really have to go to the crime scene?
At first, he planned to bring her back, and who knows ...
But he had received the call and so he had to go to the scene, although he did not like it.
Cursed be you for ringing!
How he hated his phone ringing at certain times!
If he had known he wouldn't have dropped out, but he couldn't do that, it was unprofessional.
He raised his hands, as if to let her know he would follow her urge, clenching his fists.
- Do not point the gun at my partner!
Bobby was desperate, not knowing what to do or how to react.
Why did it always happen like this?
Why do we always attack our partner first when he was there?
If this continued, he was going to have a stroke one of his days.
It was too much emotion, in so few days.
He stepped forward, interposing himself in front of Alexandra, becoming the target!
After all he was the man and father of her child, so it was up to him to protect her, not the other way around!
It was out of the question for her to take a bullet.
She had already been through hell when Gage's daughter attacked her. She didn't have to go through it again.
Besides, how would Jamie react if we touched a hair of his little mother? It was not possible!
Jamie had been very emotional and very fragile since the assault on his mother.
Alex was not confident, not reassured at all!
Why did Bobby interfere?
If anything happened to her, she would never forgive herself!
Had she become too fragile to the point of counting only on him in the event of a problem and not on herself!
-Alex brings the little one in!
Alex entered the room, followed by the little girl.
Which made his father drop his arm, lowering the gun.
Bobby grabbed the gun in his hand, and the other held the man down, until his fellow police officers took over.
Alex glanced at Bobby.
He was not well, but not well at all!
She could see it by his demeanor, his face.
Too many emotions in such a short time, it was not good for him.
- You're okay ?
How could he be?
While she was still the target and was nearly injured.
The scene of a father ending his days in front of his wife and child, hadn't made things right there!
It made his blood run cold!
So much so that he had thought of Jamie.
Worried about what could happen to both of them.
It was less serious that he disappeared, because he knew that Alex would take care of the little one without him.
- Jamie ...
Alex gave a sad smile.
She had understood from his reaction that he had been thinking of Jamie, when the father of the family had shot himself in the head in front of his little family.
He had thought about the consequences and the tragedy it would have on their little boy, if either were to be killed on duty.
She put her hand on his.
- We know the risks of the trade, Bobby! And we know it could be tough for Jamie! Bobby lifted his head, forcing himself to smile. She always knew what he was thinking. He never needed to speak. We are very much alive and we have to live from day to day. And take full advantage of our son Jamie!
Alex was right, as always when it came to their sons.
First you had to think about the happiness of having this little boy, and the rest not to worry about it. But it was hard.
He stood up, moved closer to her, and placed a kiss on her cheek.
- Thanks for being here, Alex!
