The tiny family enjoyed their dinner together and Alex finished her homework all by herself. Brennan noticed the level of independence Alex had. Brennan had waited patiently for the child to ask her for help but she didn't need it. The girls went to bed and Brennan laid awake in her bed. She smiled to herself and snuggled up between the sheets. She kept thinking about how she and Booth would have told Alex they were officially together. Brennan knew that the news would make her ridiculously happy. She was consumed in her happy emotions but soon was disrupted by the sound of Alex having a nightmare. Brennan got up and rushed towards Alex's bedroom. Alex was crying in her sleep and Brennan shook her awake, "Honey, hey its mom. You're okay." she said as she soothed her. Alex woke up and took in her surroundings, she looked relieved, and hugged Brennan tight. "It was only a dream, Alex. You're safe. Do you want to talk about it?" Brennan asks, Alex shook her head, "No, thank you. Thank you for waking me up." she says. Brennan smiled, "Want me to stay with you until you fall asleep again?" Brennan asks, "Yes, please." Alex whispers. Brennan snuggled up beside Alex and stayed with her until she fell asleep and soon Brennan's exhaustion won and she slept as well. Before they knew it it was morning and Brennan dropped Alex off at school and headed to the lab. As she entered her office she saw Booth napping on her couch. She chuckled, she looked around, and bent down to kiss Booth softly on the lips. He smiled and grabbed her and began to tickle her. "Booth, you know i'm ticklish." she says while laughing. The couple stands up and hug hello. "I want to tell Alex, today. Are you okay with that?" Brennan asks Booth. "Of course, I am. I'm even excited." he says. "Good, me too." she says.
It was time for Brennan to pick up Alex from school and as always Brennan was excited to see her daughter. Alex got into her mothers car already smiling, "Hi!" She said happily. Brennan smiled, "Hi, honey. Are you excited for the weekend?" The young mother asked. Alex yawned, "I am, I'm tired." She rubbed her eyes and visibly sank into her seat. "I hope you're not too tired. Booth is coming over tonight. We're having dinner together." Brennan said as she made eye contact with Alex through her rearview mirror. Alex eyes lit up, "Yay! I can't wait to see him." She said as she opened her bookbag. The girls headed over to the lab, Brennan had to work on their latest case. Alex remained in her mothers office doing her homework. Booth had stopped by the lab to see his girls before their dinner date. He greeted Bones as he walked by the platform and he headed towards her office to greet his mini bones. He expected to see the girl hunched over her homework, but she was peacefully sleeping on the couch. He smiled and gave Alex a kiss on the forehead. "Hi mini bones," he whispered to her and Alex smiled in her sleep. He walked out of Bones office and headed up onto the platform, "She was sleeping. Too cute." He said as she resisted the urge to display any public affection towards his girlfriend. They walked towards one of the screens on the platform for some slight privacy away from the squints. "I'll see you tonight. I can't wait to kiss you, baby." Booth whispered. Brennan smiled, "Me either. Alex is excited as well. I owe you two kisses Agent Booth." She replied. Booth displayed his toothy grin and exited the platform. The time came for the girls to head home to get ready for dinner. Brennan entered to Alex waking up from her nap. She was yawning and stretching herself out. "Hi sleepy head, ready to head home?" She asked. Alex nodded as she packed her bookbag, "I am mommy." Brennans heart fluttered she never thought a simple word could make her so happy. She was practically floating. Alex held on to Brennans hand and was leaning on her as they walked to their car. "You really are tired today," Brennan said as she squeezed Alex's hand. "I kept waking up last night but I didn't mind because you were there with me." Alex said as she looked at her mom with a weak smile. "Remember, you can tell me anything. Anything you want." Brennan reassured her. Alex nodded. "Booth is coming over tonight, is that okay Alex?" Brennan says and Alex lit up, "Yes, of course. I'm happy we've been seeing more." She says as she plays with her hair. Brennan smiles and begins to head home.
Brennan was cooking dinner and Booth let himself in. She looked up at him and smiled and he walked up to her and gave her a kiss. "I missed you, I'm also very excited." He says. He sets down the flowers get got for his girlfriend and for Alex. Alex comes in sprinting towards Booth, "I have something for you," he says as he reaches to the flowers and hands them to Alex, "these are beautiful," Alex said, "I've never been given flowers before!" She said happily. Alex walked over to Booth and gave him a huge hug. She also saw her moms flowers, "You gave my mom flowers to?" She turned to Brennan and Brennan nodded and smiled. "Of course I did, both my girls deserve flowers," Booth answered. They all sat at the table and Booth and Brennan sat next to each other and Brennan gave Booth a look and it was time. "Alex, honey, can I tell you something?" Brennan asked and Alex had smiled and nodded. "Of course.". "How would you feel if I had a boyfriend?" Brennan asked and Alex stopped smiling. "As long as its Booth, I'm okay with it." She said seriously. Booth and Brennan started giggling and Booth took Brennans hands into his own and kissed it. "It is me mini bones!" Booth said excitedly. Alex hopped out of her seat and jumped for joy, "Oh really! You're not lying to me?" She asks again. Brennan welcomed Alex into her arms, "No, I'm not lying. Booth and I want to be together. We want to know if its okay with you." She asks as she places her hand on Alex's chin. Booth then took Alex's hand, "Are you okay with me being your moms boyfriend? With me being around more?" Alex squeezes Booth's hand. "Of course I'm okay with this. I love Booth and I love it when he's here." Alex smiled and hugged them both. Brennan couldn't wait for the adoption papers to process. She wanted to tell Alex so bad she would be legally hers and would be with her forever.
