Story:Start!
I posted this on AO3 but completely forgot to posted it here. lol
Her breath hitched. Her heart raced. The sun that glows warmly on her back earlier suddenly seemed scorching hot. Her breath hitched and her mind is racing.
"W-what?" Calm down Nozomi. Think again, ask her properly.
"Eh?" aquamarine eyes blinked in confusion. "I-I'm sorry?"
"Wh-what did you say your name was?" A look of realization reflected the woman's eyes before replying back. "Kaze. Eiria Kaze."
'Eh?' Her mind spins in panic before halting once she heard the name properly. "O-oh then Yase-san, let's get out of this sun and went inside. We can discuss more about the job."
"Very well Toujou-san."
Her heart still beats fast though she silently sigh of relief realizing that she was wrong. 'Silly me, there's no way she would be here. She's still at her hometown.' She give a quick glance at the woman beside her before going inside the house. 'There is no way. We got over this already stupid Nozomi.'
But deep down inside she could feel that twinge of disappointment.
"…and that's all you will be doing. Some basic tools that you may need can be located in the shed. If you need other kind of tools or something that's concerned about the gardens, you can come to me and we will discuss them. I think that's about it, do you have any concerns?"
Nozomi looked at the woman in front of her and couldn't help but feel a wave of nostalgia. This almost feels like during Otonoki. Shaking those thoughts away she reminded herself that the woman in front of her is not the person in her thoughts.
Stop it Nozomi. We've been over this. It's been years now and no one have heard anything or where SHE was.
"No, I think everything is fine Tojou-san." Nozomi looked at the clock hanging on the wall that indicates it has past 7pm.
"Ara ara, it seems that our discussion took longer than I expected. How about you came by this Sunday so I can show you the rest of the gardens and the shed and see if you can start on Monday?" They both agreed on the arrangements.
"And it seems that your ride won't be able to send you home either." Both of them looked to the two figure sleeping on Nozomi's living room sofa. Leaning against each other; Maki's head rested on top of Nico's as the two slept peacefully.
"It's fine. Let them rest. Nishikino-sensei had done enough for me." The blond gave a small smile. "Besides the place isn't that far." Standing up she couldn't help but ask once more to the woman in front of her as both of them went to the front door.
"If you are sure."
"I am."
"It's nice to meet you Yase-san."
"Thank you. It's nice to meet you too Toujou-san."
With a wave goodbye, Nozomi watched as the blond woman across the pathway until she couldn't see the figure. Closing the door, she went back to the living room and saw her two comfy guest still sleeping away. Well at least Maki-chan is sleeping.
"Nicocchi is not nice to eavesdrop y'know."
Sputtering with her cheeks tinged pink she gave a silent glare to her best friend. "I-I wasn't. I j-just woke up from you closing that door." Nico rebut as she slowly repositions Maki's head to her shoulder. "Right~ you just wanted to cuddle with the defenseless Maki-chan there." With a nonchalant hum Nozomi continues to tease Nico.
"NOZOMI!"
"Maki-chan."
"What."
"Do you know her?"
"She was a patient from the hospital. She got released a few days ago."
"*hums* then shouldn't she be resting?"
"She will be fine. She wouldn't be released from the hospital if she wasn't well. Besides she's under mama's care so its fine."
"…"
"Hey don't worry okay. I made sure that she isn't anyone suspicious or bad."
"Okay. Geez a sick person who just got released from a hospital should just take it easy not work."
"Well, she's a stubborn woman."
"Hmmm… Is that so… Anyways Maki-chan… what's this I heard from a source of mine that you have been filling yourself with only coffee this past few days."
"Geh! I-I eat too!"
"A sandwich yes but that's all you eat for an hour before you went to work! This calls for a punishment."
'SAKURAUCHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII'
*sneeze*
"You okay Riri? A cold?"
*sniffle* "No I'm fine but Yocchan explain this mess."
"I-It's for the ritual of the great Yohane, The great Sabbath perfect for Yohane's great legion. With this Sabbath the contract between the great Yohane and her elite demon shall be all powerful as our binds strengthen and no other demon will try to steal Yohane's elite demon and–"
Soft jazz floats through the room as Nozomi sways along the music. Steam drifted of her pot as the soft sizzle of her homemade sause simmers gently. With measured precision, she prepared her dish on 2 sets of plate. She looked at the dishes in front of her with satisfaction as she hear the front door shut.
Looking at the hanging clock, she sees that she had made the dishes in time as a soft pitter-patter footsteps could be heard.
"MAMA! I'm home!" Nozomi wipes her hand and hangs her apron on the kitchen hook. She went out of the kitchen just in time to see Noemi sat on the couch.
"Welcome home sweetie. Remember to wash yourself first, I made something for lunch." She turned her head as she went to the bathroom looking at her mother. "Yakiniku?"
Scoffing in amusement to herself, Nozomi shook her head. "No, it's not yakiniku. We don't even have a griller yet. Mou, Non-chan. We are having some white stew today." She went back to the kitchen and grabs two glass from her cupboard. As she sets them down to the table, Noemi came in with water dripping from her face.
"MAMA'S SPECIAL STEW?! YEAY! It's been a long time since we have some."
"Non-chan! Dry yourself first mou!"
"Ah I can do it myself mom!"
"Then dry yourself first next time! The stew aint goin' anwhere."
Try as she might Noemi just smiles as she wipes her face with the towel her mom prepared for her. This child of mine…Honestly…
"Ok now let's eat."
"Itadakimasu!"
"Non-chan, how was your sleep over with Hanayo-chan and Rin-chan?"
"It was so much fun! I wish you were there mama."
Hanayo and Rin wanted to bring her daughter to Tokyo D-Land for fun before she started her school. Nozomi herself can't follow since the date clashes with an important project. She was sadden with the fact but happy that her daughter had fun with her two aunts.
"We went to lotsa rides. We ate bunch'a stuff too!" Nozomi happily listens as her daughter recounts all the fun she had with her aunts. Although she was concerned when she saw one picture Noemi consoling Hanayo on the ground.
Apparently Rin had brought them both to a concealed haunted house where the front was a façade with cute stuffs and as deeper they got slowly the cute aspect changes to more run-down and horror like. One of the employee manage to scare Hanayo bad enough that she ran full force to the exit.
*chuckles* "That's almost as bad as El-" Stopping herself, Nozomi coughs to cover her little slip. "…as Erina-chan when all of us went to the UTX horror house."
"A-anyways, are you ready for school?" At this Noemi looked down and Nozomi saw how her brows furrowed. "What is it?"
"I-I'm scared… What if they don't like me?" The little girl looked at her mother, her eyes filled with anxious energy. "W-what if they think that I'm weird with my yellow hair?" She curls her hair around her finger. It haven't been months and my little girl is already influenced by my friends. Nozomi hugs her daughter and tucks her head under her chin.
"I can't promise that everything will be fine. Sometimes people doesn't like us and they will be mean to us but I know that not all people is like that. There are people who will treasure you and those around you. Who knows maybe one might be right under your nose."
Her daughter understood that very much, after all she had gone through a tough life before she found her. Entering a school in an area where Nozomi had spent years living seems like a good idea for her daughter to live a childhood dream that she had missed. After all, with her beloved friends around her and someone she loves she knew that her daughter would be spoiled rotten from her aunts with all the love they gave to her.
Kami-sama, please look over my child and I and all our friends. I hope Non-chan's first day at school will go smoothly…
Please look over her too… My wish for her is to be well and happy where she is at right now.
*peeks again* H-hi? I know it's been 2 years since my last update. I'm guilty for that. I honestly don't know what to say. To my readers, I'm sorry for up and disappearing like that. I-I have to admit I lost my muse with the past few years. I would give excuses for what I did and I know uploading one chapter might not be enough and it might be a while till I can finish this. I do have another story that I am going to upload today. It's Aqours and revolves around certain pairing =Their Fluttering Heart
