F3: Welcome to chapter 19 of the story. So far the team rounds have finished and now the teams must decide who to send to the doubles round. RWBY is the property of Rooster Teeth and Monty Oum. The OC's of Team SPIR, Melanie Tora, and Ophelia Sorrel are owned by me while Senka Linwood is property of MountainKing312. Akane Shidou and Diana Mirai are owned by Decode9. With that said Let's Get Started.
Volume 3-19: Rumor.
It was currently evening as the sun was starting to set with the students returning to Beacon from the festival and the tournament that they've enjoyed as Team SPIR, RWBY, and CRMN walked back to the dorms.
"That was a surprising turnout for the first round. Though we still got a long way too go if we're going to make it to the finals." Star replied.
"You're telling me it won't be easy. Did you see how tough some of those teams were? That last team nearly beat Akane and her team." Ruby replied a little bit worried of how tomorrow is going to be.
Cinder simply rubbed the smaller teens head "It'll be fine. Tomorrow's the doubles round which means it'll only be two people competiting instead of an entire team. I plan on having Emerald and Mercury battle in the next round." Cinder replied as the two smirked but only getting pout from Neo.
"Oh don't be like that. Sometimes you have to trust your teammates to get the job done when your not their." Cinder said as Neo nodding in agreement still not liking being left out of the tournament.
"I guess you're right." Ruby replied. As the group was about to head inside a black feather floated down in front of them. Yang felt something cling to her left shoulder in which groaned. She looked and noticed a black raven with red eyes sitting on her shoulder as it cawed at her and rubbed its head against Yangs.
"You can get off my shoulder now mom." Yang replied which seemed to confuse most of them including Weiss and Blake.
"Um... Yang... that's a raven a type of bird you know." Weiss said a little confused as then the raven jumped toward Ruby's right shoulder as it did the samething.
"Auntie get off me. Plus your confusing everybody." Ruby replied as the raven seemed to cawed annoyingly as it took to the air before flying toward a nearby tree. The raven then went to loop around the tree but once it was behind the tree it wasn't a bird that came from the other side but it was Raven herself as the older women was chuckling.
"Oh c'mon can't I have a little fun with you two." Raven said.
This came to a big shock from the rest of the group as they saw that small bird becoming Yang's mom right in front of them which confused all of them.
"Okay just how did... what just... huh?" Weiss question as she fumbled over her words.
"How did that even happen?" Blake asked.
"It's something that she always knew how to do that but she never explained how." Ruby replied.
"And I'm still not telling you. Besides I have some business here. I need to speak with Ozpin." Raven replied.
Not much longer a small airship flew overhead as it landed at the helipad as it only had two occupants.
The first occupant is a tall women in her early twenties with slate blue eyes with snow white hair that flows down her back. She's wearing a grey flowing trench coat which she has it opened. Underneath the trenchcoat is a white business suit with a black turtleneck while her bottom half are simply business skirt with blue stockings and blue heels. Around her neck is necklace with a snowflake hanging off it. At her left hip is her weapon that resembles that of a saber with a long blade that is curved at the end.
The saber has a wide crescent shaped guard that protects her fingers and hand.
However the second person was someone that Raven didn't want to see.
It was a rather tall man with short brown hair and teal-green eyes. He wears a sleeveless Atlasin Specialist uniform that consisted of a white sleeveless double breasted coat with red and blue accents with ornate detailing shaped to the form of wishbones, broad tail with red lining and a four-leaf clover pin on the lapel. On his belt is that of a rabbit's foot keychain hanging off it. He also wear white pants and covers his hands with brown fingerless gloves. He also wears blue calf high boots with four dark blue straps and silver steel toe plating.
On his left hip of the belt looks like a silver fishing reel weapon.
"Are you sure it's wise to be here Miss Schnee? You have a case that your client is needing of a defense." The man replied.
"Their are others that can take my place for the time being. Besides Goodwin owes me this after defending him the last time." She replied as she continued her march toward the academy.
"You are my escort now act like it Clover." She scolded as the two marched forward.
Raven chuckled at this sight "Well if it isn't Winter Schnee. Attorny at law." Raven said which made Weiss flinch well knowing who that was standing in front of them as she hid behind Pepper while Pepper simply stood firm resisting to not punch the woman well knowing who it was.
"And may I ask just who you are?" Winter asked.
"Raven Branwen-Xiao Long." She introduced herself to Winter.
Just the name just of the women made Clover gulped a little hoping that she didn't recognize him.
"And I'm guessing that this is Clover Ebi. Member of the Ace Ops if I'm not mistaken." Raven said with a soft smile.
He laughed nervously "P-Pleasure to meet you again Ms. Branwen." He said which surprised Winter.
"You know her. Why wasn't I informed of this?" Winter questioned.
Raven spoke up "Oh we've met before. We just have a bad history don't we." Raven replied.
"Well be that as it may but I'm afraid I must have a word with Ozpin." Winter replied.
"Hey so does Auntie. Why do you need to speak with him anyway?" Ruby questioned.
"I'm afraid that is confidential young miss so..." Winter started but then realized what Ruby just said as she looked toward Raven.
"Auntie?" Winter questioned.
"Yep. This is my niece Ruby Rose and that is Yang Xio Long. My daughter." Raven replied.
Winter looked toward Yang then back at Raven "I can see the resemblance." Winter replied.
Clover let out a slight cough as if breaking up the little talk as Winter caught on to it.
"We'll have to get going. I need to have a word with Ozpin about something." Winter said as both her and Clover marched toward the academy.
Raven turned to the others "Sorry if I have to cut this short but I'm sure we'll talk later. You have to tell me how the first round went." Raven said as she too walked away from the group.
Weiss came out from behind Pepper with a relaxed sigh.
"Good. She's gone." Weiss said calmly.
Cinder only looked at the lynx with wonder "You know that person don't you." She asked.
Weiss only nodded.
"That was Winter Schnee... my big sister." Weiss said almost sadden at that fact.
"Wait she's your sister!" Yang said nearly shouting.
"Not so loud will you." Weiss warned making sure no one else heard.
"Though I'm surprised she didn't recognize me immediately. I mean the scar on my eye is a dead giveaway." The lynx added pondering that fact.
"Well she did say she needed to talk to Ozpin. Wonder what it's about?" Emerald questioned even Neo had a look of wonder.
"C'mon we got the second round tomorrow and it'll be the doubles round so we'll need to get some rest." Cinder replied as she helped usher the students to their dorms but that didn't make her wonder less about what Winter was doing at the academy.

Meanwhile Ozpin was having another unwanted argument with the general as they were discussing the possibility of the security.
"Oz I know that you don't like me very much but I am making sure that everything is secure and that the tournament is not in danger. What more do you want me to do?" Ironwood questioned.
"You showing off this military power of yours isn't going to help anyone if it'll confuse the public and might even show fear as the public will begin to speculate. If that happens their will be more grimm to overrun not only Vale but Beacon Academy as well. Something that we do not need or want at this time." Ozpin answered.
"I'm sorry Oz but as head of security I'm in charge of keeping not only all of Vale but everyone else safe from harm." The general replied.
"Oh. Is that the only thing on your mind?" Ozpin asked knowingly.
"I don't know what you mean Oz." The general replied.
"Don't think I don't know about the Ace Ops you've brought with you James. You tend on capturing The Spider and you plan on using them to do so." Ozpin replied.
"The Spider is a criminal and I will make sure that who it may be is brought to justice." The general replied well knowing that he doesn't only have the Ace Ops he has working with him.
Before Ozpin could say another word the elevator door opened reveal Raven, Winter, and Clover.
"Ah Raven. What do I owe the pleasure of this visit." Ozpin replied.
"Call me a sceptic but I believe something is going to happen at this academy and we'll need to be prepared." Raven replied.
"Ma'am with all due respect. The Atlas military is here and I'm pretty sure that we are well prepared for anything that comes our way." Clover replied.
Raven gave him a glare which made him flinch "Oh then I'm sure you were prepared when my brother got killed and you did nothing to help! You over hyped rookie!" Raven shouted at him.
"That is quite enough. I will not be having a shouting fest in my office." Ozpin replied.
Raven looked away from Clover still holding an angry scowl.
Ozpin then turned to Winter "Now Winter may I ask why you are here?" Ozpin questioned.
"This is private matter that I wish to speak to only you and maybe Raven if she's willing to listen." Winter replied.
"You can say it in front of all of us or not at all commander Schnee." Ironwood replied trying to insert his authority.
Winter only chuckled "Former commander. I left the military remember to become an attorny so I don't have to salute you or anything else you fool." Winter replied as she recieved a harsh growl from the general.
"I suggest that you and Mr. Ebi leave before you say something that you'll regret later." Ozpin said sternly.
The general decided it was best for him to leave as he motioned Clover that it was time to go as the two then walked out of the office.
"Now Miss Schnee what is it that you wanted to tell us." Ozpin replied.
"Sometime ago my agency recieved a phone call from someone in this academy. Apparently it was concerning an old case that went cold five years ago." Winter replied.
"And the reason behind this is what now?" Ozpin questioned.
"Also five years ago a man by the name of Lucious Khan was killed by grimm. However Goodwin believes otherwise and whoever contacted him must be related to Lucious in some way." Winter replied.
However Raven eyes went wide at just the last name of the person.
"Wait. Did you say Khan? Do you have any idea who they are?" Raven questioned.
Ozpin looked toward her "Then I believe you know who they are?" He asked.
Raven nodded "At least one of them. She was my opponent during the Vytal Tournament some years ago. Sienna Khan I believe was her name. Though there just as famous as the Belladonna's." Raven said recalling an old friend she knew that attended Beacon.
"Back on topic. With our permission Ozpin I would like to speak with the person that called my agency." Winter asked.
Ozpin thought a moment "I'm afraid I don't know who made that call to your agency but would probably like their privacy." He said.
However Winter slammed her hands on his desk "This is about taking down..." Winter started before summoning the strength to finish her sentence.
"Jacque Schnee. My father." Winter said at last which even surprised Ozpin.
"I see. So that's what this is about." He replied.
Winter realized what she did and backed off looking down in shame "I'm sorry. I lost myself for a moment their. But you see the importance of why I need to speak with this person." Winter added.
Ozpin stayed stoic for a moment with his eyes closed as if he was thinking a moment before coming up with a decision.
"If I give you the name of this person you are to be discret and if she says stop you stop. Understood." Ozpin said sternly.
"Yes. I won't push it." Winter replied.
Ozpin then reach for his scroll and phoned a number "Ms. Orion can you bring Ms. Basil to the conference room please?" Ozpin replied.
"Of course sir but may I ask why." Rieka questioned.
"I will explain when you get their." Ozpin replied as he hung up.
"Thank you sir. I promise I'll make this quick." Winter said as she turned to leave. However that was when Raven spoke up.
"You know I'm surprised you didn't ask for your sister." Raven started which made Winter stop in her tracks.
"What are you talking about?" Winter questioned.
"That black haired girl with the pale blue eyes, scar on her left eye. Yeah that was Weiss." Raven replied.
Winter eyes went wide at her sisters name being mentioned "Wait you mean Weiss is here at Beacon?! How exactly did that happen?" Winter questioned.
Raven only shrugged her shoulders "You got me. Now if you'll excuse me I promised to talk with Ruby and Yang about their first day of the tournament." Raven said as she excused herself from the office leaving a rather stunned Winter knowing that her sister was at the academy but it also worried her that if Weiss even wanted to see her again.

Meanwhile with Team SPIR Star was currently going over ideas in her head of who should compete in the doubles. First she thought herself and Pepper would make a safe choice since both their weapons are mainly up front and personal. However she immediately dismissed that idea since Pepper mainly knows how to fight hand to hand while Star would be helpless without her weapon making her an easy target.
She then thought of Iona and Rina would be able to handle themselves since she knows that Ionas semblance covers a wide range and able to help with offense and defense. Plus both Iona and Rina's weapons can attack from medium and close range. Though Star dismissed that idea cause she knew if the situation got too much for them Rina would use her semblance to try something which would mean her brain would take a hit as well if she used it.
After much internal debating she finally came up with an appriopate pair.
"Alright I think I got an idea who should compete in the doubles round." Star finally said as she faced her team in which Iona and Pepper were playing cards as Iona slapped her cards down on the floor.
"And that's a royal flush." Iona smiled declaring her victory as Pepper put her cards down.
"You've been hanging around Ruby and Yang too long." Pepper groaned.
"Seen that coming a mile away." Rina said simply.
Star cleared her throat to get her teams attention "If I may speak here. I've came up with an idea of who should partake in the doubles round." Star began.
"Alright so which two of us are going to the doubles round?" Iona asked.
"It'll be Pepper and Rina. You two have good chemistry together and not just with your combination attacks. Your weapons also play a factor in this. Rina your sword not only allows you to get in close but your swords whip function allows you to wrap your opponents up in a bind plus your pistol let's you stay at a distance." Star began.
"Pepper. You are our close combat expert and can deliver powerful strikes. Your guantlets also have swords and guns in them if you need to get in close or to stay back. Plus your semblance can help both you and Rina or even slow down your opponents if need be." Star added.
"So you really think that me and Rina should continue on in the tournament." Pepper said.
Star sighed "I know that is a real pain but it was a difficult choice." She said.
"Not to be a bad omen but if me and Pepper are moving on you know that means it'll either be me or her going to the singles round once we win the next round." Rina replied.
"Don't get ahead of yourself. First we don't even know who we'll be facing or if we'll even win." Pepper added.
"Yeah I know that." Rina replied "But with the two of us I'm sure we'll be fine." She added confidently.
A knock came to the their door "It's open." Star called out as the door opened revealing Rieka at the door.
"Oh hey mom. Is their something you need?" Pepper questioned.
"Actually I came to retrieve Miss. Basil here. Their is someone that would like to speak with her." Rieka replied which seemed to confuse Iona a moment.
"And just who would that person be?" She asked.
"Never said. Ozpin said that he'll explain once we get their. In fact I'm rather curious myself." Rieka replied.
That actually made the rest of the group curious "Can we come? After all she is our teammate." Rina questioned.
Rieka however shook her head "Not this time. You girls stay put okay. Iona if you'll follow please." Rieka ordered as Iona got up from her spot.
"I'll be back girls." Iona said as she followed Rieka out of the room.
"Okay just what was that about?" Rina questioned.
"Don't know. Hopefully she's not in trouble." Star said with worry hoping her partner was going to be okay.

A few minutes into their walk Rieka and Iona had made it to the conference room where Ozpin and Winter were waiting for them as they entered the room.
"Thank you for joining us at short notice Miss Basil. I do apologize for taking you away from your teammates but something has come our attention." Ozpin replied.
"Um... am I in trouble?" Iona asked nervously.
"No I assure you you're not in trouble." Opzin assured which did make her relax a little bit but she looked toward Winter.
"Evening... Iona is it. My name is Winter Schnee. I work for an agency that specializes in investigating incidents and finding criminals." Winter introduced.
"Then you know Goodwin. That's a surprise." Iona said.
"Yes he's my employer. Though that's not why you're here. About last month you made a phone call to the office reguarding a case that Lucious Khan was working on." Winter started.
"Yeah. Apparently dad was working on a case that was focused on the CEO of the Schnee Dust Company. Jacque Schnee. And before you ask I was adopted." Iona replied.
"Thank you for that. Now that case ran cold for about five years and no one knew how he'd died other than they believe it was a grimm attack. You wouldn't call the agency unless you had something on that now would you." Winter started.
"What I'm trying to ask is this. Do you have anything that'll shed some light on this cold case?" Winter questioned.
Iona recalled back to when her, Blake, Star, and Weiss were taking Killa back to Menagerie as she remembered the destroyed airship.
"Actually their is something. Its about mabye six hours due west like you're going to Menagerie. Their is a small island that has a destroyed ship that was riddled with bullets." Iona replied.
"That's not telling me much. Was their anything in the ship?" Winter asked again.
"Yeah... my fathers folder. Cause it had the initials L. Khan on it." Iona replied.
"Do you have the folder on you perhaps?" Winter asked but Iona shook her head.
"I've send it back to Mistral so my mom could keep a hold of it." Iona replied.
"Did you look inside it? What did you find?" Winter asked trying to press for more information.
Iona stepped away a bit scared of the sudden forwardness of how Winter was being "T-There was pa-paperwork in it. Mostly about Jacque Schnee and accusations that have been made." Iona replied quickly.
"Anything else did you see in the folder. Anything of importance?" Winter pressed.
Iona tried to think but the amount of pressure wasn't exactly helping any especially when Winter slammed her hand on the table.
"Well! Anything!" Winter raised her voice which made Iona retreat behind Rieka tears came to her eyes threating to roll down her face.
"Winter!" This time it was Ozpin that raised his voice to her. It took a moment for Winter to realized that she'd crossed the line and pushed too hard after she said that she wouldn't as she looked down in shame.
"I sincerely apologize. I overstepped my bounds. You don't have to say anymore." Winter said as sat down.
"Ms. Orion please escort Iona back to her dorm if you will." Ozpin ordered.
"Understood sir." Rieka replied but before she Iona ran right out of the room and ran straight back to the dorms.
"Alright. Even I want to know what's going on?" Rieka questioned as she folded her arms under her bust wanting an answer from Winter.

Meanwhile with Team JNPR Jaune had just gone off an idea for those to compete in the doubles round.
"You sure that me and Ren will be enough?" Pyrrha questioned.
"Yeah. I mean with Ren's agility and your skills you two will able to make it past the doubles round. Just make sure you be extra careful who you're fighting and if you're in a pinch make sure to-" Before Jaune could get the next word out their door came flying open and a lilac colored blur lunged at Pyrrha.
It took a moment just who came barreling in as it was Iona who was wrapped around her waist like a safety net of some kind. Pyrrha also noticed that she was on the verge of tears.
"Whoa Iona are you alright?" Pyrrha questioned as she wrapped her arms around the smaller girl.
"Attorney. Asked about dad. Too many questions." Iona said as she was shivering in Pyrrhas embrace.
"Um... Ren could you help me here?" Pyrrha asked as the boy walked over to Iona. He then gently touched the girls head before letting out a breath activating his semblance as a soothing feeling came over Iona.
She stopped shivering as her body seemed to relax itself.
Iona let go of her hold on Pyrrha not even knowing what just happened.
"How'd you do that?" Iona asked feeling surprisingly refreshed.
"It's my semblance. A passive one that allows me to remove any negative feelings from anyone. It sort of supresses them." Ren replied.
"Yeah pretty cool right. I still think you could be a therapist." Nora added.
"Now Iona tell me what exactly happened. You said something about an attorney." Pyrrha added.
Iona went into explaining about what had happened pior coming to the dorm and whenever Iona explained Pyrrha on the inside was getting angry at not only Ozpin but whoever this Winter person was and if she found her she would certainly give her punch right to face.
"After that I just ran out of the room and came here." Iona finished.
"Wow... so this had to do something about your... adoptive dad." Jaune replied.
"Yes. Though I'm not very good when it comes to being pressured." Iona said.
"Well. You better get back to your team and get some rest for tomorrow." Pyrrha added as Iona decided it was best to head back toward her dorm where her team was waiting.
"If I ever see this Winter person I'll rip her spine from her back!" Pyrrha growled.
"Whoa easy there red. Don't need to pop a vessel." Nora replied surprised at her teammates change in attitude.
"I'm sorry it's just... I can't help but feel protective of Iona. She is after all my proclaimed little sister." Pyrrha added.
"I guess that does explain a lot of things." Nora replied.
"Though we better get some sleep. If it's going to be me Pyrrha in the next match we need to be ready." Ren suggested.
"Yeah let's get some sleep." Jaune agreed as Team JNPR decided to hit the sack for tomorrow.
However in the back of Pyrrha's mind she still has to come up with a decision to whether or not take upon half of the Fall maidens power. She hoped to come to a decision before the final round.
She hoped that she is making the right choice.
