Chapter 11: Chaor Strikes Pt 2

Chaor prepared his Eye of the Ember Giant to finish off Maxxor once and for all. "It's the end for you, Maxxor." Chaor said as the Eye started to glow. Maxxor prepared for what was to come. Suddenly, the jewel was knocked out of Chaor's hand by Iron Balls. Chaor and Maxxor looked to the right. Verlina stood there, wearing her mother's Torrent Krinth. "You leave my father alone, Chaor! You want a challenge?! Then come and take me on!" She dared. Chaor glared with a grin. "Verlina! No!" Maxxor whispered with worry.

Back in the Drome, Kaz prepared to code Sidney with one last fire attack. 'No! I won't lose like this! Not when Kiru City is at stake!' Sidney thought. She fired a Flash Kick at Chaor's legs, knocking him off balance and causing him to fire the Torrent of Flame he was building up at the rock wall. Sidney hopped back up as Chaor started to slowly recover. "Clever. Got any other surprises, Sid?" Kaz asked. "How about this?" Sidney said, forming her new Airsaulter in her arms. Kaz was wide-eyed. "What is that thing?!" He asked. "This is an Airsaulter. And here's what it can do." Sidney said, taking aim at her uncle. "Fluidmight!" She fired a purple water fist from her new BattleGear, blasting Chaor into the wall, decreasing his Energy down to 5 in a flash. Kaz groaned as he got up, clutching his stomach from the blow. "Nice. Never saw that coming!" He said.

Back in Kiru City, Chaor and Verlina prepared to face off as Maxxor started to slowly recover. "You've got guts challenging me, little one." Chaor said. "That's enough talk. Riptide!" Verlina cried, firing a stream of water from her hand. Chaor blocked himself as the water hit him. "Very good! But not good enough! Inferno Gust!" Chaor fired a typhoon of fire, colliding with Verlina's attack. Maxxor, Intress and Tom watched as Verlina fought to hold her own against Chaor.

Meanwhile, the other Creatures began to overpower Chaor's forces.

Zamool had Blazier backed into a corner. Suddenly, 3 plasma attacks started pushing Zamool back. He looked up and saw Laarina, Lendai and Geltod wielding Plasma Pounders. "That's what you get for messing with my honey bun." Laarina said, blasting Zamool right into a wall.

Vyll was chasing after Dractyl, blasting at him with a Pyroblaster. Dractyl's wing nearly got singed by an Inferno Gust. "You can fly, but you can't hide from Vyll, OverWorlder!" Vyll said with confidence. "Who said he was trying to hide, Vyll?" A voice asked from behind Vyll. Vyll turned and saw the Mipedian Conjurer, Habekh, flying on his Warbeast, Ninren. "Oh no." Vyll muttered as Ninren trapped him with a Tornado Tackle. Ninren then blasted him away with Airsault.

Atrapol, Galmedar and Klawam were blasting through the city streets with their Pyroblasters. Suddenly, Galgad swooped in and landed on Atrapol's face. "Can't blast if you can't see!" Galgad said. Galmedar swung his blaster at Galgad, but Galgad jumped out of the way. Galmedar's blaster hit Atrapol in the head, knocking him out cold. Galgad landed in front of Galmedar and Klawam, who aimed their Pyroblasters at the little OverWorlder. They fired Torrent of Flame attacks. "Not today. Whirlwreck!" Galgad spun around, creating a whirlpool of water, which doused the fire attacks and sent the 2 UnderWorlders flying to the ground. "You see? Never underestimate the little guy." Dalgad said, wiping his hands. But Klawam struggled to get up, raising his Pyroblaster at Dalgad. Dalgad didn't have time to react before Klawam pulled the trigger, until someone swooped in and grabbed Dalgad. Klawam fell unconscious after that. Dalgad looked and saw his OverWorlder friend and crush, Deenha. "Are you okay, Dalgad?" Deenha asked. "Y-Yeah. I'm fine now, Deenha. T-Thanks." Dalgad said, stuttering his worlds. Deenha then kissed Dalgad's furry cheek, making him blush hard.

Krekk and Winstrile flew overhead, caught in aerial combat with Ri'oha. Normally, Ri'oha would feel outnumbered against the 2 UnderWorlders, but she was a M'arrillian. A M'arrillian with a plan. As Krekk and Winstrile continued to attack, Ri'oha flew in around a corner. Krekk and Winstrile followed, only to find that Ri'oha was reinforced by Eremia, Swassa, Melke and Aimukk. "All together now! Accelerated Unity!" Ri'oha cried, firing the same attack with her new friends. The combined power from the attacks sent Krekk and Winstrile crashing down to the ground.

Shadlocke and Drakness, both being shadow Creatures, were playing hide-n-seek in the shadows. Shadlocke was nearly getting the upper hand on Drakness, throwing his fire and earth attacks back and forth. But Drakness was more agile with moving in the shadows than Shadlocke. Once he was out of range of Shadlocke's attacks, Drakness crept around and knocked Shadlocke down with a Lavalanche.

The big blue steel giant UnderWorlder, Stelmerix, prepared to burn the city. He raised his hands and prepped his upcoming fire attack. Suddenly, a giant robot attacked Stelmerix. Ulmar had rebuilt his robot from Gigantempopolis, the Gigantroper, and prepared to face the steel giant. Stelmerix threw a punch, but Ulmar caught it in the robot's hand. Ulmar tried to punch Stelmerix back, but Stelmerix caught the robot's hand. It appeared that the 2 were at a stalemate, but Ulmar gave a sly grin. He flexed his right fist low, and the robot activated a couple of missiles. The missiles hit Stelmerix in his shoulder, releasing his grip on the robot's fist. Seeing his chance, Ulmar flexed his fists upward, unleashing the robot's energy blasters. Stelmerix was wide-eyed as the robot fired the blasters, sending him tumbling to the ground.

Takinom was pinned down by Skithia. Apparently, Takinom was still suffering from some minor pain from her injuries. "Heh. So much for being the new UnderWorlder leader." Skithia gloated. Takinom glared as she struggled. "I don't know why you even brought this onto yourself, Taki. You'll never be a good leader. Not now, not ever." Skithia said as she prepared her final fire attack. Takinom closed her eyes and awaited the attack. As Skithia prepared to deliver the attack, a barrage of hot coals knocked her down. As Takinom opened her eyes to see what happened, her gaze was set upon a humanoid wolf holding his hand out to her. "Ovilix!" She said surprised with a blush. "You alright, Takinom?" Ovilix asked. Takinom took his hand and helped herself up. "Yeah. I'm fine." Takinom said, still blushing. Apparently, she had a crush on this OverWorlder. Ovilix blushed a bit too. Apparently, he felt the same about her. Unfortunately, their moment was interrupted by Skithia's shout of rage. They turned to see her charging towards them, her fists coated in fire. Takinom and Ovilix threw a double Pyro Punch as Skithia attacked.

Klesh and the other 4 UnderWorlders charged through the city streets, firing their attacks left and right. Antideon and Mezzmar hid behind the buildings and waited for the chance to attack. As Klesh started to peak around the corner, Antideon and Mezzmar nodded to each other. They launched a double Riptide attack, sending Klesh flowing into the wall. The other 4 UnderWorlders looked back at the 2 OverWorlder brothers, who were still prepped to fight. "Fall back! Retreat!" The one that resembled a bandaged demon yelled, running away with his fellow UnderWorlders. Antideon and Mezzmar fist-bumped. "Nice work bro." Antideon said. "Back at ya bro." Mezzmar said.

Meanwhile, Tom watched as Verlina and Chaor still went all out on each other. 'Sidney, you better hurry! I don't think the city will last the night.' He thought as he ducked to dodge a Flame Orb.

Back in the Drome, Sidney and Kaz were close to getting coded. They were panting from exhaustion. "You're good, Sid. Just like your father." Kaz complimented. "But now is when I code you. Since I have this, my fire attacks are all too powerful." "Then I guess I'll have to mix it up with some Mugic." Sidney said, casting one of her Mugicians to activate her one Mugic. "Modulation!" The Mugic played in key and 2 lights shined over Sidney and Kaz. "That Mugic!" Kaz said with shock. "The very same one my father used against CodeMaster Crellen." Sidney said, taking aim at her uncle. "No! The Eye only boosts my fire attacks!" Kaz said in a panic. "But since you switched them with your attacks-" "You are code, Uncle Kaz. Wall of Flame!" Sidney blasted the fire attack from her Airsaulter. The purple flames hit Chaor and he burst into code.

Kaz was in total shock. "The winner: Majorina." The Drome Master declared. "Yes!" Sidney yelled as she transformed back. She then got a call on her scanner. She answered to see Minnie and Robbie. "You did it! You found the one weakness to Chaor's new power!" Robbie said. "But we gotta hurry and get this info to your dad fast!" Minnie said. "Right." Sidney hung up and turned to her uncle. "Thanks for the match, Uncle Kaz. We can celebrate later. Right now, I have a message to deliver to my dad in Kiru City!" She said as she ran out of the Drome.

Tom continued to watch as Chaor and Verlina went head-to-head with their attacks. Verlina was knocked down by a Torrent of Flame. "Verlina!" Maxxor cried as he struggled to get up. Just then, Tom's scanner started beeping. Tom answered it to find Sidney calling. "Dad! I know how to stop Chaor!" Sidney said. "That's great. Wait. Where are you anyway?" Tom asked. "Lake Ken-I-Po. At Najarin's castle. I'm looking for the Mugic you used against CodeMaster Crellen. Modulation." Sidney said. "Modulation? How does that help?" Tom asked. "The Mugic switched your attacks with Crellen's, right?" Sidney asked. "Yeah?" Tom answered. "You'll see. See you in a few." Sidney said, ending the call. "Wait, Sid!" Tom called. Too late. Sidney already hung up. "I hope you know what you're doing." Tom said.

Verlina struggled to stand up as Chaor loomed over her. "So, you're Maxxor's daughter? I might have known." Chaor said. "And here I thought the only way to break Maxxor was to take his city. But now I have a much better idea. Not only am I going to take Kiru City, but I'm also going to destroy Maxxor's beloved daughter." Chaor formed a Flame Orb in his hand and prepared to strike. Tom, Maxxor and Intress gasped in horror at what Chaor was about to do. Verlina closed her eyes and awaited the strike.

"CHAOR!" A voice cried. Chaor stopped his attack and looked behind him. Sidney was right there! "Sidney!" Tom yelled. Chaor heard him and marched towards Sidney. "So, we finally meet, Sidney Majors." He said. He checked out Sidney from top to bottom. "You're a little shorter than I expected." "And you're not as big and scary as Uncle Kaz described." Sidney said. Chaor growled upon being insulted by a human. Then he noticed Sidney was hiding something. "What are you hiding?" He asked. Sidney sighed in disappointment and held out the Mugic. "It's a Mugic called Modulation. It doubles a Creature's energy." She explained. "So, you thought you could bring this Mugic to help your friend Verlina? I think not!" Chaor said, swiping the Mugic from Sidney. "Once I cast this Mugic and regain my energy, I will use my power to take Kiru City ONCE AND FOR ALL! MODULATION!" The Mugic floated from Chaor's hand into the air. Chaor released one of his ghostly Mugicians. The Mugician sucked itself into the Mugic, activating it. As Mugic played in key, a light shined around Chaor. But Chaor didn't notice the same light shined around Verlina too.

As the Mugic ended, Chaor seemed confused. He didn't feel any of his energy returning. "What happened? I didn't get any more energy!" He said. He glared at Sidney. "What kind of game do you think you're trying to play here? What did that Mugic do to me?!" He asked. Sidney just stayed silent. "Very well. You have sealed your doom." Chaor raised his hand. "Heat Rage!" His attack didn't come through. "What?!"

"Hey Chaor!" Verlina called. Chaor looked over at Verlina, who was now on her feet with help from Maxxor. "Leave my friend alone!" She shouted, firing Lavalanche from her hands, sending Chaor into the wall. "How did you get my attacks?!" Chaor asked in shock. "That's what Modulation does, Chaor. It swapped your attack abilities with Verlina." Sidney said. Chaor was in total shock. "No! My Ember Giant Eye only boosts my fire attacks!" Chaor said. "We know. But since your attacks got switched, your Eye is just a helpless little bobble now." Maxxor said, taking the Eye from Chaor. Just then, Chaor's UnderWorld soldiers were seen retreating towards the hole in the wall as the Tribal Alliance blasted them with their attacks. "COWARDS! COME BACK HERE!" Chaor yelled. But they just ran right out the hole. "Looks like you lost this one, Chaor." Maxxor said. "Ready to give up?"

Chaor growled and started to shake. "MIRTHQUAKE!" He roared, releasing his attack and sending Maxxor, Intress, Verlina, Tom and Sidney flying backwards. Chaor then stomped over to Sidney, grabbed her shirt collar and lifted her up. "You foolish little brat! You took away my victory over the Tribal Alliance! And now, I'm gonna destroy you!" He said, readying his hand to blast Sidney. Sidney was about to scream when suddenly, Chaor was blasted into the wall by a water attack, dropping her in the process. As Chaor recovered, he saw Tom holding a Liquilizer. "Don't ever come near me or my family again." Tom warned. Chaor growled, knowing he was beat. "Fine! But you haven't seen the last of me!" He said as he retreated out the hole.

Tom dropped the BattleGear, ran over to Sidney and pulled her into a hug. "You okay?" He asked. "Yeah. I'm fine." Sidney said, gripping her father tight. Maxxor and Intress held Verlina in an equally tight hug. But then, Maxxor pulled out and looked deep into his daughter's eyes. "What do you think you were doing?! You nearly got yourself killed!" He said. Verlina let her tears fall. "I'm sorry, Daddy. I couldn't help it. Chaor was beating you, and I had to try! I mean, I wanted to try! I didn't want to lose my daddy! I'm sorry!" Verlina sobbed. Intress rubbed her daughters back. "You don't have to be sorry, Verlina." Maxxor said. Verlina looked at her father as he cupped her cheeks. "Because I've never been any prouder of you." Maxxor said. The OverWorlder family pulled back into their hug as the Tribal Alliance cheered in victory. Even Takinom, out of embarrassment, kissed Ovilix on his cheek.

Later, Maxxor and Intress were overseeing repairs to the wall. "Chaor sure has stepped up his game with conquering Perim. Who knows what he'll come up with next?" Intress said. "He can try. And when he does, we'll be ready." Maxxor said. "What about the Eye of the Ember Giant?" Intress asked. "I sent it to the arsenal for Bodal and Olkiex to examine." Maxxor said. "Who knows? We might find another. If they're out there." Intress linked her hand with Maxxor's as they watched out in the horizon.

Back at Gothos Tower, Chaor was having a really big tantrum upon losing, blasting everything in sight with his recently returned fire attacks. "WE WERE SO CLOSE! So close. We tripped at the finish line! All because that little brat tricked me into using a Mugic that switched my attacks!" He roared. "All of you! GET OUT!" The UnderWorlders all scattered out of the throne room. Chaor sat back down in his throne. "I just wish there was a way for me to bring the Tribal Alliance to their knees so I can take Perim all for myself." He grumbled. "There are more ways than even you could ever imagine, Chaor." A voice said. Chaor jolted his head around, looking for the voice. "Ancient secrets lost to the UnderWorlders for thousands of solans." Chaor's eyes finally settled on the shadows behind a column. "I am willing to show you. That is, if you are willing to trust me again." Out from the shadows, recuperated from his last attempt to conquer Perim, stepped forth Chaor's old enemy and Gothos Tower's former overlord. Lord Van Bloot.
