Breaking News. Darkwing Duck is getting Rebooted on Disney plus! I am super excited. What this means for the future of Ducktales I am not sure but it's official, Darkwing Duck is getting his own show!

"That's great news," Webby spoke over the phone to Ginger the next day. Ginger had just came out to Chip and Gadget and they took her news really well, as well as the news about her and Coco becoming an item. "Glad everything went well."

"Yeah I can't believe I was so nervous to begin with," Ginger replied "Oh by the way how are things going on your end?"

"Well, we haven't found Nimnus I'm afraid. So far we have been stuck at this house owned by two humans, a Latino chick and what I can assume is the town grouch."

"Oh are you all okay?" Ginger asked

"We're fine, luckily they're friendly, well the girl is at least, the boy wants to turn us all back to normal ducks but luckily he still doesn't know how to, even after Violet gave him a blood sample."

"Wait, Violet gave the man that wants to turn you into normal birds a blood sample?"

"Yes, but again the guy is still no closer to figuring out his so called cure even with the sample, something he has been complaining about all morning."

"Well you better get to finding Nimnus soon, I don't know how much longer we can keep up the lie."

"Well there seems to be a problem, Louie crashed the plane and neither of these humans seems to be mechanics."

"Why the hell did you let Louie drive the plane?"

"None of us knew how too, and it doesn't matter right now.

"We have to tell the adults they can come get you, they..."

"NO!" If they find out, you know what will happen! Besides despite how cranky this guy is, he still wants to beat Nimnus, these two humans may be our best shot. Just give us another week, I'm sure we can do this."

"I will try, but I can't make any promises, the school dance is tomorrow, I have been able to keep your secret so far but they are for sure going to notice you gone by tomorrow. You need to find this Nimnus and beat him soon."

"The dance is tomorrow?"

"Yeah, you really didn't pick the best time to go on a crazy adventure."

Webby went silent as she nearly collapsed at the news, she had been really looking forward to that dance, and now she was going to miss it, not only that, she knew the adults would notice them gone once they missed the dance. Now not only were they about to miss the school dance, they were about to run out of time.

"Webby," Ginger spoke over the phone. "Are you still there?"

"I'm here Ginger," Webby said softly trying to hide her sadness, "I... I need to go."

Hanging up the phone Webby buried her head into her knees. How did she lose track of her days like this? And worst yet, how did she let herself get so distracted by the human world? They came here for a mission and she let the distractions cost them so much time. Now not only was she going to miss a event she had been desperately looking forward to, she was going get them all caught by the adults.

Jo was washing some dishes when she peaked out the window to see Webby sulking outside. Stopping what she was doing, she grabbed a pen and notepad and walked out to the porch, sitting down next to Webby and giving her the pen and notepad.

"What's wrong Webby?" Jo asked

"Our school dance is supposed to be tomorrow," Webby wrote down "I was really looking forward to going to it but now that won't be possible since we are stuck here. What's worse is we haven't even started on our mission on stopping Nimnus, and our parents and guardians will be finding out we are gone soon. We kind of left without permission or without them knowing. We have sacrificed and risked everything to try to stop Nimnus and it's about to be all for nothing."

Jo was silent for a moment, not really knowing how to respond to Webby's claims. Eventually she got up and offered Webby her hand.

"Let's go talk to the others, maybe there is a way we can work all of this out."

Jo called a emergency meeting in the living room. Once Jeff and the other birds arrived Jo instantly ran by everything she had just found out from Webby.

"Alright team, we have a emergency on our hands. I have just found out that your parents are getting close to discovering you have sneaked out without them knowing."

"Wait nobody from your home knows you are gone?" Jeff gasped giving the birds a look. All six of them just kind of gave a nervous chuckle and gulped.

"Thankfully, they have no idea where your exact location is which buys us the time we need to find Nimnus and stop him before your guardians finds any of us."

"I wouldn't bet on that," Louie wrote " Our uncle is Scrooge McDuck, the original leader of Nimnus's army before he rebelled. He built Duckburg all by himself, and is richer than probably most humans. He will find some way to find us quickly, he has the resources. I give him a week tops."

"Well then we just have to make sure we stop Nimnus within a week," Jo responded.

"And just how are we going to do that?" Jeff asked "I don't have the cure ready, I am dealing with something I have never seen before. The thing that caused these birds to mutate the way they did is something I was never taught about in chemistry."

"Jeff, you have a machete and a bow in your room, as long as arrows."

"I am not going to kill those animals I refuse."

"Then don't. You used to work at a zoo before you moved here, didn't you ever have to use a tranquilizer?"

"Well yes but I don't have any with me."

"Don't you know the chemical you used to tranquilize them?" Huey wrote in his notepad.

Jeff thought hard for a second. "You know I think I saw what they used in them. But I don't have a tranquilizer gun."

"Strap the darts to your arrow then. You are a master archer, I have seen your skills at the archery range you are amazing"

"Even if I can make my own tranquilizers, Nimnus has an army, I will never get enough made to stand a chance against him in a week."

"I can offer my assistance." Huey wrote down.

"Mine as well." Violet offered "I'm sure with two extra sets of hands we can get it done three times as fast."

"Me and Webby can work at tracking down Nimnus's whereabouts." Dewey wrote down.

"With my magic I can offer some much needed extra fire power when we find them." Lena wrote down.

"I'm sure I'll think of something useful to do, eventually." Louie wrote down.

"And with the tons of weapons I got in my closet, we will have more than enough firepower to take that mad scientist down." Jo responded.

"YOU GOT WEAPONS!?" All six wrote in all caps.

"What? A girl has to defend herself. This is Los Angeles after all. Anyway, next order of business. I also understand that your school is holding a school dance that you all will have to sadly miss."

"I'm not sad about it." Louie wrote before getting a elbow in the side by Huey.

"So even though it is a bit last minute. I think we should hold a dance for you all tonight so you can still have your dance."

"WHAT?" Louie wrote with a horrified look on his face.

"I am seriously going to strike you with that notepad of yours." Huey replied to Louie.

"Since when did you have a violent side?"

"There is tons about me I keep bottled in until I need it."

"Um, Jo," Jeff spoke up uncertain about this. "You just said we have a week to find Nimnus and you want to throw them a dance?"

"A week is plenty of time." We know that Nimnus is somewhere here in LA or close to it since LA is his main area of attack. I have faith in this team that we can get what we need ready by then and take Nimnus down before these birds parents finds them. Besides they are still kids at the end of the day, the school dance is supposed to be a important time in any teenagers lives. Don't you remember how fun you had at your prom?"

"Actually my prom was a disaster. My date left me in the middle of the prom for some drunk redneck."

"Ouch," Webby wrote down hearing that one.

"Okay, forgot I asked that. But still, it's not fair that they miss their big dance because they are trying to save the world. Let's give them this one last fun activity, then tomorrow morning we work hard to track down Nimnus's location and ready the weapons."

"PLEASE!?" Every Duck minus Louie wrote on their paper, Louie just rolled his eyes and shook his head in disgust.

"Okay fine, but my house my playlist."

"And mine," Jo shot back "I live here to you know."

"I will be using my computer though." Jeff countered.

The two humans didn't dare take the birds to the store to get dresses or suits, knowing that with the high level of fear with humanoid creatures the law would be on them for sure. So instead Jo and Jeff agreed to let the birds borrow some dresses and suits from them for one night. Webby was given a shoulder off pink dress with white sequins going down the side. Lena had a long sleeve dress that was white at the top and light blue at the bottom. The sleeves was mostly white, only turning light blue at the wrists. The dress also had a light blue cape. Violet ironically had a violet backless dress.

The boys each wore suits that matched the normal color of their everyday clothes. Although Louie was fighting getting into his.

"I won't do it I'm telling you, I refuse to do it!"

"Oh come on Louie, you've wore suits on lots of occasions." Huey argued.

"Yes, but this is for a stupid dance!"

"Oh come on, nobody said you had to dance, but you got to at least show up." Dewey replied. "You know how many people actually go to these things but don't dance to one song. Lot's of people. Now come on, let's Dewey this!"

"Must you always put your name into random sayings?" Louie complained

"It's my catch phrase."

"Okay fine. But I'm not going to enjoy one second of it."

Jo had the birds wait in hers and Jeff's bedrooms until they were told to come out. Then when given the signal they walked to the living room which was now decked out in ballroom decorations. The living room was turned into a dance floor with streamers, a disco ball, and balloons laying all over the floor. Jeff was playing "Shut up and Dance" By Walk the moon on his computer. The dining room table had punch and tons of finger foods for the birds to snack on.

"Alright ladies and gentle ducks," Jeff yelled "It's time to shut up and dance!"

Dewey took Webby's hand and Huey took Violet's as they both ran to the center of the dance floor and broke out in a dance. Louie tried to sneak off to the food unnoticed but Lena soon grabbed him and drug him to the dance floor.

"Oh no you don't I need myself a dance partner."

"No wait, I think I see barbecue weenies on that table," Louie cried "Please, no!"

To late, Lena dragged him onto the dance floor and was spinning him around and forced him to take a bow as the song played. As soon as the first song ended Louie tried to make his escape again, but Lena held her grasp on him hard as a slower love song played, "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran.

As Lena forced Louie to dance with her, Lena soon rested her head on Louie's shoulders. At first Louie felt freaked out, but the longer her head was on his shoulder the more he felt himself liking it to the point he was actually sad when the song ended.

"Oh come on!" Louie cried out, "Give us another song like that!"

"Yeah, come on DJ" Lena shouted, causing the other four birds to laugh.

"You want another, you got it!" Jeff replied, playing the song "I swear" by All-4-one.

Back in Duckburg Donald went to the mountains where Ginger said the kids were out camping at.

"Kids!" Donald called out "Kids, where are you? You've camped out enough, time to come home!"

Donald searched all around the mountain but he couldn't find any trace of them, not even a tent or camp site.

"Kids?" Donald took out his phone and called Dewey's number. It rang for several seconds but to no answer. He called Louie's next, still no answer. Finally he called Huey's, but just like the first two, there was no answer.

"Where are they? This is not like them." Getting concerned he called Della.

"Della, have the kids returned home yet?"

"No, they are still out camping."

"You sure about that? Because I am where Ginger said they were out camping and I haven't seen a single trace of them. They ain't here."

"What?" Della suddenly hung up.

"Della, you there? Della? Ah phooey."

"So, what do think?" Ginger asked Coco as she tried on dresses in Ginger's room. With the dance being tomorrow Ginger bought three different dresses, even though she only needed one. She was hoping to surprise Coco with her dress choice but since she couldn't decide between the three dresses she had bought all three of them to show off to Coco, keeping the receipt to return the losing dresses. The current one she was wearing was a black sleeveless and shoulder less dress that went down to her ankles. As a bonus she had bought a matching black jacket to go over the dress to give her a sexy but not to girly look.

"That's the winner," Coco replied putting her hands out in front of her face with the thumbs out to look like she was looking through a camera. "S-E-X-Y!"

"Perfect." Ginger replied taking off the jacket. "Now we just need to find yours. See any of the remaining two you like?"

"Well, I did like this white silky one." Ginger replied picking up a long sleeve white silk dress

"Really?" Ginger asked surprised. "It doesn't really scream tough cowgirl."

"Well it's a dance, not a rodeo. Besides I'm dressing for you tomorrow not anyone else. If anybody has a problem with it..." Coco pounded her right fist into her left palm, signalling what she would do to anybody who teased her look.

Laughing as she got the picture, Ginger just wrapped Coco around her arms and stared into her eyes. "How was I so lucky to get a girl like you in my life?"

Ginger planted a kiss on Coco's lips, but before she had a chance to get lost in the moment, Ginger's bedroom door slammed open to see a furious Della, Donald, Chip, Gadget, and Scrooge enter her bedroom.

"Ginger Hackwrench," Gadget called out. "You have some explaining to do!"

"About what?" Ginger gulped, even though she already felt she knew the answer.

"Ginger," Della growled as she marched over to her and pinned the terrified mouse against the wall. "Where are my boys?"

Ginger just gulped as she started to cower in fear. "Uh oh."

Oh that prom story I mentioned about with me. True story. Yeah it hurt.

I did originally plan for one more chapter before the adults found out about the kids leaving but I thought that I would be dragging this part of the story out needlessly. The plan was for me to tell the kids about this local legend here in Oklahoma called the Oklahoma Octopus and the kids run off to try to discover it. It was supposed to give the story a little bit more of the adventure feel of the series, but again I took it out because I felt it was unneeded and drug the story out a bit. If you still want it let me know and I will try to find a way to fit it in but if not that's okay to.
