Quick A/N: Just trying a new writing style, try to see if u can see the difference:
Human and dragon flew in the night sky. If anyone looked up, they would only see a quick black blur, racing out of sight as fast as it entered. On the back of the dragon however, the air was pleasantly whipping a boy's auburn hair out of his eyes, and back again as gravity took ahold again. The wind seemed to flow around the pair like a river. The pair rode the winds in a comfortable silence until seemingly inexplicably, the young boy slapped his hand on his head.
"SHIT-"
"What? What is it?"
"I forgot the supplies Toothless, I just left! I don't have any food or clothing or ANYTHING!"
"Well, we can always stop somewhere and gather some, you still have your bag of coins don't you?"
Hiccup pretended to not hear the 'stupid two-legs' after that seemingly calm sentence.
"Yes, but I'll hardly be able to buy a single meal for you and me combined, you literally eat a whole basket of fish for breakfast! And don't even get me started on your dinner!"
"You would have a point, but unlike you two-legs we dragons don't eat-What do you call it? Ahh lunch! Why do two-legs even have this lunch?"
Hiccup procceded to ignore the last statement and instead pulled out a map, scratching the side of Toothless in the process which earned him an annoyed growl. The map fluttering around in his hands, combined with the lack of light made it nearly impossible for Hiccup to read anything at all. He told Toothless to land on a nearby sea stack, one apparently seperated from its rocky brothers all alone in a shallower part of the sea. There was an island nearby, but Hiccup found sea stacks like these more safer. They also reminded Hiccup about the happier parts of his life in Berk, the small parts atleast, and they all consisted of times spent with Toothless and Gobber.
Toothless silently warmed an area with his flames and curled around himself just like he had been when Hiccup had first saw him. Over the past two months Toothless had managed to gather most of his magical stores of energy back. Hiccup still didn't completely understand the intricacies of dragon magic and magic in general, but he didn't question it.
Using the fading glow from Toothless's fire, Hiccup managed to find their position. The closest island was the Bog-Burglars which was perfect. In his miserable life, he had had three friends in his youth: Fishlegs, Gobberm and surprisingly Astrid. Then once he was about ten years old Astrid started ignoring him when her uncle died to the flightmare removing the honor of her family. She started training and stopped interacting with him. Fishlegs left when Hiccup was twelve, figuring out that either it was stay with him and be beaten up or ignore Hiccup and not have bruises everywhere. Fishlegs picked the obvious option, something Hiccup couldn't blame him for. Gobber stayed his friend adviser and pretty much the only person who treated him as such till this day, and Hiccup still felt guilty about not even writing a note, but he knew they couldn't turn back just for that purpose. Besides these people, he had one more friend, Cami. She was the heir to the Bog Burglars and kept him alive (pretty much) during The Thing by keeping the other heirs away from me. She could and maybe would help me.
"Hey Tooth, I know where to get supplies"
"Great, great, good to know."
"You're being sarcastic aren't you?"
"No, I would never ever be sarcastic. Your sarcastic enough for both of us."
"...Anyways get up we need to keep moving before they figure out I'm gone"
"Your being overly cautious, you sleep in the forest, they won't even start to wonder where your at until you miss that training."
Hiccup swallowed, he hadn't told Toothless he had been attending dragon training. He had just said 'training'. Hiccup didn't know why he was lying, it's not like he actually killed a dragon, but it still felt wrong. Coward.
-_Break Line:_-
The pair circled over the half darkened village, faint glows came from under them, the fires of the sentries lighting small circles around the village. Hiccup nudged Toothless downwards, and felt the familiar thrill of adrenaline that came with diving. As they leveled out still hidden from the sentries Hiccup looked around eagerly. He had never left Berk and drank in the sight of a new and unique village. The houses were more decorative and very shiny, the Bog Burglars didn't have any daily dragon raids like Berk and they didn't have one-month old houses everywhere.
Hiccup crept about after jumping off Toothless with a soft thud. The pair looked around all the village, hiding in corners or having Toothless cover them when sentries got near.
"Ok, so I-we need leather (lots), food, furs, and maybe a pack to carry stuff. Also maybe some coins and maps."
"Hmph"
Hiccup continued to do an odd dance with his dragon, making a convoluted path through the village avoiding any sentries, slowly grabbing the things they would need. Hiccup didn't realize how hungry he was until he snuck into the bakery. Hiccup gasped and looked around, bread, cakes, and cookies. The Bog Burglars didn't bake, and Hiccup didn't even know why it was here. Hiccup grabbed plenty of bread, it'll go well with the cheese. Hiccup was about to leave, until his stomach rumbled again. Hiccup stuffed in a piece of break he was about to pack into his mouth.
"Careful, death by bread is an undignified way to go."
"Atleast I will die doing what I love!"
"So you don't love flying?"
"I didn't say it was the only thing I love!"
Toothless ignored him and instead directed him towards a building that was especially decorative. Hiccup climbed inside and nearly shouted in surprise. Books, maps, gems! Of course, Bog Burglars, this was probably all stolen. There were atleast twenty sentries patrolling around the building, but I doubt they thought a dragon would want to steal their maps. Hiccup looked around and found an especially big map that was detailed, and a couple bags of coins. Hiccup nodded in satisfaction and exited the building on Toothless's back. As he landed about to finally get some furs, the last thing he needed, he heard an oddly familiar voice:
"Hiccup?"
A/N: BAM, cya :D
