*Chapter 9 - The Red Carpet - Part I

(6:00pm)

As the sun began to set on Middleton, a series of final tech run-through commands cracked on the headsets of the local news crews covering the red carpet right outside the Timothy North Memorial Theater.

"Sound levels, stations one through ten, green light!"

"Cameras one through seven, check!"

"Security tie-in systems, check!"

"Red carpet, are you ready?"

"We're totally ready. Just give us the signal!"

"All stations are ready! We are live in four, three, two, one, mark!"

The graphics for the 15th Annual Kim Possible Fannies Awards featuring a giant Golden Rufus statuette were shown. The red carpet preview carried a TV rating of TV-PG-L.

Spotlights lit up the sky weaving their patterns in the air. It highlighted the banner of The 15th Annual Kim Possible Fannie Awards with the hashtag of #15KPFA for social media needs. Photographers and fans lined up on both sides of the red carpet, leading into the Timothy North Memorial Theater.

"Hello, one and all, this is Sunny Day here!" a woman in her forties proclaimed through the microphone. She was wearing a purple strapless evening gown replete with diamonds and also wore diamond-heart-shaped earrings. "And welcome to tonight's coverage of the 15th Annual Kim Possible Fannies Awards. This is the Middleton News Network starting off tonight's events from the red carpet and you know what this means! This is..."

She then paused and whispered, "Can we even say this on the air? We don't wanna get fined by the FCC!"

The director nodded her head.

Miss Day then continued, "You know what this means! It is Fannie Watch where the stars of the show, the writers, are beginning to arrive one by one!"

Miss Day went to the first limousine that pulled up.

"And here we have our first guest to arrive. Here is BeatlesTributeMan or Beatle for short!"

Beatle got out of the limousine. He was in a black tuxedo. And he was followed by Marty from his story.

"You've been nominated for five awards in your very first year of the fandom, including for Best Villain and Best Kim/Ron! How does it feel to be here tonight?"

"It feels exciting," Beatle said in the mic. "I would like to thank especially CajunBear, Sharper, and Sabre for welcoming me to the KP fandom. Now, Sitch of Summer has become an awesome series and all with six stories to this point. Hopefully, most of them will win some awards for next year's ceremony. But it is a great honor to be here tonight! Thank you!"

Beatle then walked with Marty into the theater.

"And that was Beatle and Marty for our very first guests! So who's next pulling up into the theater pavilion?" Miss Day asked in the mic.

Dan, the other anchor on duty, replied, "That would be LuvPurple99 and her guest Krista R. Stoppable!"

The next limousine then pulled up to the carpet. LP99 got out of the limo along with her character Krista. The former was wearing a long periwinkle evening gown and drop earrings while the latter was wearing a red evening dress.

"And we welcome LP99, whom is nominated for six awards tonight, including for Best Story and Writer of 2019. How does it feel to be honored?"

"I'm pretty much surprised to be here tonight!" LP99 replied. "It had been about seven years since the last time I updated a KP story. I didn't expect the fandom to be still around, yet, here we are!"

Miss Day then added, "So about your story, I heard that it is one of the darkest in the entire Kimmunity Archive."

"Yeah, it is dark and I did advise that some chapters in the story are really that way," she replied.

"Is there anyone you would like to thank?" Miss Day asked.

"Oh of course!" LP99 replied, "I would like to thank SC90, aka Stormchaser90, for allowing me the use of his original characters for the story and for his job of being a beta reader/editor as well. And to everyone who has reviewed the story as well. I would like to thank them as well."

"And what do you think, Krista?" Miss Day then asked the now-fifteen-year old.

"I think it's amazing and everything," Krista replied. "It's a really high honor for my author to be nominated for so many awards for tonight! Thank you! I hope she wins some!"

And with that, LP99 and Krista both headed toward the theater.

"And there you have it! They are happy to be here tonight. We'll cut to commercial before we return with more of Fannie Watch. "
