Warning: mention of sexual situations

Scott looked at his watch. It was 11:03 in the morning, and the Blaire's had yet to arrive. Scott felt himself beginning to get antsy with waiting and he stood up to begin pacing.

"Kid," Chris said. "They'll be here. Calm down, alright?"

"What if this was all just some big ploy to get-"

"You've heard it from yourself and Nathan that she's legit. Here. Come sit with me. Drink some water."

"I'm not-"

"Scott Christopher." Scott blushed as he sat next to Chris and took a sip of water.

"Sorry. I don't like people being late."

"I can understand that, but what if they left in plenty of time and there was an accident that caused traffic? And they're only five minutes late, son. It's not like much can be done in five minutes." Scott sighed and nodded.

*They're here.* He heard Jean send him. He relayed the message to Chris and stood up, quickly walking to the door. He opened it and saw father and daughter exiting their car.

"I can't believe you told them about me," he heard Alison say.

"What would you have me do, Ali? Sparks get sent up whenever you're excited or mad, and how many more times can I say it's the equipment until someone finds out or I get shut down?"

"Screw you."

"Ali." Scott felt Chris put a hand on his shoulder.

"Do I let them know we're here, or back off to give them privacy?" he asked his father.

"Mr. Blaire," Chris called. "Glad you could make it." Carter nodded and ushered Alison to the door.

"This is going to be a waste of time," Alison said. "I don't want to be here."

"Well, your father drove all this way for you to meet with us. That's all that's been discussed. If you feel the same after talking and meeting a few people, then that's fine. But my son and I cleared our schedule to accommodate you and your father, so it would be rude to leave without at least having the meeting." Alison crossed her arms.

"Fine." Scott felt Chris' hand tighten on his shoulder, and he winced.

"Dad," he whispered. Chris realized what he'd done and moved his hand.

"Sorry, kid," he whispered back.

"Alison, Mr. Blaire. Welcome to the Xavier Institute. If you'll follow me, we can get started-"

"Daddy, have you seen- oh. I'm sorry." Carolyn blushed, realizing she'd interrupted Scott's meeting.

"Excuse me," Scott told the Blaire's. "Who are you looking for, Carrie?"

"Hope."

"She was in the suite, last I saw." Carolyn nodded and flew away. Scott turned back to Carter and Alison. "Would you like to start with a tour or sit down and discuss mutations and what we do here?"

"I thought you said you only had three boys?" Carter asked Chris. Chris blinked, confused.

"Oh, Carrie? She's-"

"My step-sister," Scott said, quickly. "She was already an adult when our parents got married, so Dad doesn't… include her as one of his 'kids' when people ask about us." Scott held his breath, hoping it was believed.

"Yes, Carrie only sees me paternally when she wants something. I'm usually referred to as 'Chris' or by my codename."

"To each their own, I suppose. Alright, Ali. Where do you want to start?" Alison looked around, and then looked at Scott.

"Your room?" She asked. Scott blinked.

"Sorry, my fiancée is in there resting."

"Right…"

"And my son's room is on the third floor with the other instructors' rooms. It's considered off limits unless you're going to Professor Xavier's office. It's not even included in our tours."

"Too bad."

"Alison."

"So what is it you do here?" she asked, looking bored.

"We train the students to learn how to use their powers and when the appropriate times are to use said powers. We also work on being able to protect ourselves and others without powers."

"What about the group that was seen on television?"

"That's our main team. We've been here two years or more and can work as a team. For students who are still learning how to use their powers, going out like that is a risk we won't take. My brothers are on this team, and even they don't go out with me. The only time a student can skip the younger team and be placed with the main team is if there's an age issue. Seeing as you're, what… sixteen? You'd be on the younger team, learning and training with them."

"Are they training now?" Carter asked.

"Not this week," Chris smiled. "The instructors and second in command are fairly busy this week preparing for Saturday, and it's the first week of summer vacation. Kids are getting a well deserved break. But as soon as Scott's back from his honeymoon, we'll be back to business as usual."

"Ish," Scott reminded Chris. "Xavier has that thing he's having the kids do next week. Maddie and I will be back before they are. And then Alex is leaving until August, and then it's back to normal schedule wise."

"Yes, I'd forgotten about that," Chris frowned.

"Would you two like a tour of the mansion?" Scott asked them. "I can highlight the purpose of the rooms if you'd like."

"I'd prefer to get to know the people my daughter will be around, first."

"Understandable," Chris said. "Do you have your communicator?"

"After Christmas? Of course I do." Scott pulled his communicator out of his pocket. "Good morning. I need the main team and the instructors in the main living room, please."

"Me too, Scott?" he heard Madelyne ask.

"No, Maddie. You're fine." Scott looked at Carter. "Sorry. Some of the ladies are getting ready to leave for the bachelorette party. My fiancée is moving a bit slower these days." Chris grimmanced.

"Don't ever let her hear you say that, son, or you'll be on the couch for the rest of your marriage."

"Was she hurt?" Alison asked.

"No, she's due in six weeks with twins," Warren said, flying down. "Mr. Blaire. A pleasure to see you again." Carter's eyes were wide.

"You… you…"

"I don't think we need to talk about how my family views mutants, do we? Not if I want to stay in my father's will." Jean rolled her eyes.

"Good morning. I'm Jean Grey. Please ignore this bird brain over here." Scott smirked.

"I'm definitely going to use that," he told Warren.

"Use vhat?" Kurt asked, teleporting in. "Oh… Guten morgen."

"Wat do you need, Cyke?" Rogue asked. "We're supposed to be leavin' in a minute."

"Ah. This must be Alison. It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Hank McCoy." Alison looked at Beast and her eyes went as wide as Carter's.

"You… You're the guy from TV!"

"I suppose I am," he smiled. "Though that's not the first thing most people think of when they see me."

"I just hear you yelling at me to jump," Scott said, smiling at him.

"Hi! Welcome to Mutant Manor," Kitty said.

"Yes, welcome," Storm repeated. "It's a pleasure to meet you."

"You were also on TV!" Storm just smiled.

"Everyone, this is Alison Blaire and her dad, Carter. He wanted to meet us to make sure we were safe enough for Alison. I know several of you are getting ready to go, so I wanted to get you here before the team she'd be working with."

"Lorna-"

"Lorna can meet her later, if necessary," Chris said, sternly. Scott winced at the anger he heard in Chris' voice.

"Alison, Mr. Blaire, this is Jean, Rogue, Kitty, and Kurt. The five of us, as well as my fiancée, make up the main team. Our instructors are Hank McCoy, Ororo Munroe, Logan, and you've already met my dad, Chris Summers. We also have a part-time instructor in Warren Worthington."

"What about those two from Monday?" Alison asked.

"Cable and Teen Cable," Scott said. "They work with us occasionally, but they're not part of either team, technically."

"Then why are they here?"

"Yeah, Scotty. Why are they here?" Warren asked with a grin.

"Sorry, that's a team… secret."

"You keep lots of secrets like that from parents?" Carter asked. "I'm not sure I like not being allowed to know what my daughter is learning." The team looked at Scott and Scott sighed.

"You guys can go," he said to the X-Men. "Send the New Recruits this way, if you wouldn't mind."

"Mr. Summers,"

"Mr. Blaire, Cable and Teen Cable are the same person, just… at two different points in time. Cable is a time traveler, and he's not always here to assist us, but when he is, he works with the main team. The younger Cable… This is his first time here, so I don't know where I'd put him."

"Time travel."

"Yes," Scott said, honestly.

"You expect me to believe this?"

"It's the truth."

"Tell me something about the future, then," Alison demanded.

"You'll go by Dazzler." Her eyes went wide.

"That's the name I came up for myself months ago! How did you know?!"

"Because Cable is a time traveler," Scott repeated. "He's from fifty three years in the future. The other Cable is from twenty two years in the future, and so is the redhead from earlier. She and Cable are fraternal twins."

"It's true," Chris said, looking at Carter.

"And you trust them? They could be just anyone from down the street!"

"They have yet to give us a reason not to trust them. Cable has been instrumental in assisting our team with attacks on us, as well as when mutants were outed. It's because of him giving us as much warning as he was allowed to that some of us survived the mansion being destroyed. He has more than earned my trust."

*Thanks, Dad.* Scott turned and saw Nathan with his arms crossed, leaning against the back wall.

"Mr. Blaire, this is Nathan D-"

"Summers," Nathan said. "Nathan Summers." Carter looked at Nathan and then back at Scott.

"I see. Is this your fiancé?"

"Absolutely not-"

"That would be my mother," Nathan said, walking to them.

"No way!" Alison said, eyes lighting up. "You're seriously from the future? You're his son?"

"I am. Sorry, Dad. Mr. Blaire was projecting and he wasn't… He didn't fully believe you."

"It's fine, Nate. Mr. Blaire, I'm sure you can understand why we don't share this information. If it got out that we had time travelers among the mutants-"

"It'd be like saying aliens were here. Got it." Nathan tried to stifle his laughter.

"Exactly," Chris grinned. "And that would cause a major issue." Carter sighed.

"I'm not sure I can completely wrap my head around this, but I trust you, Chris. If you're saying he's safe, then…"

"He is safe." Carter nodded.

"What do you think, Ali?"

"Can we do that tour?" The New Recruits filed in before Scott could say anything.

"First, everyone, this is Alison Blaire and her dad. Alison, Mr. Blaire, this is Bobby, Sam, Jamie, Ray, Roberto, Lorna, Amara, Alex, and Gabriel. This would be your team, if you decided to join us."

"You two were at the batting cages on Monday."

"Alex and Gabe are my brothers," Scott reminded Alison. "And Bobby is in the process of joining the main team because of his experiences, so he has seniority in this team."

"I thought you said age-"

"Was the only way to completely bypass this team. You can be moved from this team to the main team if we see certain… things. We're still working to get him there. He's allowed to go on certain missions with us that are cleared by the professor."

"Scott, can I go? I was getting ready to go with Maddie."

"Yeah- actually, she's right there." Scott grinned as Madelyne walked over to him.

"You must be Alison. I'm Madelyne."

"Wow you're huge."

"Alison!" Madelyne only smiled.

"I'm due in just over a month, and I'm carrying twins. I know I'm big, but thank you."

"I was a big baby. Sorry, Mom." Madelyne frowned for a moment.

"They know?"

"I'll explain later," Scott promised, "but yes, they know. And you're still a big baby," Scott smirked at Nathan.

"Hey! I'll have you know-"

"Nathan," Madelyne said. "I left my purse in my room. Would you mind getting it for me?"

"Sure, Mom." Nathan waited a second and then was gone in a blink of an eye.

"Amazing." Scott couldn't stop the smile.

"He is. Dad, would you mind getting the tour started? I'll join you in a minute. Thanks, guys. You can go back to enjoying your break." The New Recruits disbanded and Chris led Alison and Carter away. Once they were out of sight, Scott leaned down and kissed Madelyne.

"You ok?"

"I am. Just wanted to remind you that I'm your fiancé before you leave for your party," he grinned.

"How can I forget that? And I doubt anyone would approach me, Scott. I'm-"

"Sexy. Incredible. Beyond drop dead gorgeous in that dress. And you know how I get when you curl your hair like that." Madelyne smirked.

"Maybe I just enjoy driving you insane." Scott took her hand and placed it over the newly hardened part of his body.

"Absolutely insane," he whispered in her ear. "I hope you're planning on making it up to me on Saturday."

"Hm…" Scott began trailing small kisses along Madelyne's jawline and down her neck. "Alright! I'll somehow make it up to you. Just stop before someone sees us." Scott kissed her lips and smiled at her.

"Love you."

"I love you too. Now go fix that before you scare someone." Scott looked down and then back at Madelyne.

"Yes ma'am," he smirked. "You sure you don't want to help?"

"Scott Summers, go!" Scott chuckled as he kissed her cheek and carefully stepped away to go adjust himself.

"Have fun, Maddie. And remember our daughter and granddaughter will be with you."

"Oh, because that stopped you on Monday with our son?" Scott just blew her a kiss and stepped in the half-bath in the room to lessen the obvious signs of his arousal. When he stepped back out, the bridesmaids and Hepzibah, as well as Carolyn, Hope, Kitty, and Amara, were gathered.

"Ladies, you've got my mother, fiancée, children, and granddaughter traveling with you. Please make sure they stay safe."

"Awwww, Scott! You are the sweetest!"

"Lahk we'd let anythin' happen to Maddie," Rogue said, rolling her eyes.

"Where is Corsair, Scott-boy?"

"He's giving a tour. I should probably go take over…"

"Tell Corsair Hepzibah would like to see him."

"I will, Mom. Have fun." Hepzibah gave him a quick kiss on his cheek before he turned and walked out of the room to find Chris, Alison, and Carter. They were coming out of the game room when he found them.

"There you are. I thought you got lost for a minute, kid."

"Sorry. I was telling Maddie bye," Scott blushed. "And Mom wants to see you for a second. I'll take back over from here. Probably for the best if I hit the lower levels with them." Chris nodded and patted his back before walking away.

"It's a very nice entertainment room," Carter commented. "And we saw the dining room and the kitchen."

"Alright. There's not much more to see on this level. If you'll follow me, I'll show you the second floor. That's where everyone but the adults sleep."

"And you."

"Yes. Madelyne and I have our own suite on the third floor to accommodate our growing family. And my dad's suite is designed basically the same way, since the whole reason he's here is to be with my brothers and me. We each have a room in his suite."

"Will Ali have a roommate?"

"Not now, but it's a possibility," Scott admitted. He led them to the second floor and stood near the stairs. "This side is the guys' side. Girls are permitted to visit from 2:00 pm until 6:30 pm. This side is for the girls. Guys may visit during the same hours. If a member of the opposite gender is in the room, doors must remain open. Failure to comply with these rules will cause you to lose your privileges. The only exception to visiting out of the allowed times is if there is an emergency."

"I'm assuming these rules were put into place because of you?" Alison smirked.

"No, these have been the rules since Jean joined the team. I was here at fourteen, and she arrived about a month or so after me."

"Then-"

"I think the creation of my kids should stay between me and their mother, don't you? Wouldn't want to put ideas in heads, after all."

"Did they hold you accountable?" Carter asked as they went back down the steps.

"More so because of my position. I lost my privileges for an entire month and I was made to run five miles in the morning before working out before school. And that was before my dad got to me," he admitted, unable to stop the blush. "We had to write a ten page, cited paper for him, and I couldn't even look at her unless my dad or stepmom was in the room."

"Had you been my kid, I would've kicked your ass." Scott looked over as he heard Chris chuckle.

"Hey. Rejoining us?"

"That ok?"

"Yeah, no problem. We're headed to the lower levels now." Chris nodded and pressed the hidden button on the wall to call the elevator.

"So a ten page paper," Carter said to Chris. "You don't strike me as the incredibly scholarly type, so why?"

"It was a combined paper for him and Madelyne. She'd just lost her mom and I was going easy on her."

"I see." The four climbed into the elevator and Scott pressed his thumb on the scanner.

"Only team members can get this elevator working," Scott explained. "If you decide to join, prints are one of the first things we'll do." Alison nodded and the group was quiet as they waited for the elevator doors to open again. When they did, Scott was the first one out.

"A bit different than the pictures from the news."

"With the mansion being destroyed, we were able to build it to our exact specifications instead of working with what was here. Now, there are only three rooms I can show you. Everything else is for the main team or Professor Xavier, so you won't need to worry about them. This room here is our simulation room. It's where we come up with different scenarios to help train."

"How do you get those scenarios?"

"A really expensive computer and this right here," Chris said, tapping Scott's head. "Just about every scenario in there, Scott created. It's part of why his position on this team isn't contested."

"What are the other rooms?" Alison asked.

"Our planning room and the gym," Scott replied. "But over there are the lockers for the simulation room and gym. Doors are labeled guys and girls, so there shouldn't be any confusion. Right here is our gym. The rules for in here are no lifting weights without another person with you, but everything else is fine alone. Personally, I like coming in here before breakfast to run on the track. Jean joins me sometimes-"

"You're close to this Jean girl," Alison noted.

"She's one of my best friends, and the two of us have been here the longest. She's also the godmother of my kids. We're used to running together because for the longest time, it was just us. Now down the hall here," Scott said, leading the group, "is our planning room. When we have real life situations that require the main team, we'll group here to get the information. We also meet here after sessions in the simulation room to go over what went right and what we still need to work on."

"Hello again," Beast said, walking into the room. "I hope you've enjoyed your tour so far."

"It's been very informative," Carter admitted.

"Usually we don't get to give parents the tour. I believe only Jean and Warren are from New York. Normally, we send out representatives to the students-"

"Mostly me and Jean," Scott added.

"Yes. They have a very good record of bringing students to us," Beast agreed. "Are you interested in possibly joining us, Ms. Blaire?"

"It seems… not what I expected."

"If you come in the summer, the pool will be open," Scott grinned. "It's being cleaned right now, and it'll be ready to use by Wednesday."

"When would I be able to move in? If I were interested."

"Today," Scott shrugged. "I'd suggest before Friday, if you wanted to move in this week. Several of my teammates are in the wedding, and we'll be very busy Friday and Saturday. If you're not ready this early, then Monday on will be fine, too. Just realize that several of us will be unavailable come August, as well."

"Is that when she's due?"

"Yes sir." Carter nodded and turned to Alison.

"So, Ali? What do you think?" Alison shrugged and looked at Scott.

"Is there like a membership length I have to meet if I say yes?"

"No," Scott said, quickly. "If you come and don't like it, then just say you're done. We have people who have been here for four years, and we've had people who only stayed a month. It's not for everyone, and we understand that."

"Can I talk to my dad privately?"

"Sure. Let's go back upstairs and you two can talk," Chris agreed. He led the group back to the elevator and they went up to the main floor. Scott allowed Carter and Alison to exit the elevator before he and Chris did.

"If you two want to sit on the couch there, we'll stay over here. Unless you mean for us to hear it, we won't be able to." Carter nodded and the two went to the couch on the opposite side of the room.

"So what do you think?" Chris quietly asked.

"She's going to question everything and not fall in," Scott said. "She already bucks authority."

"You would know all about that, hm?"

"I'm not that bad," Scott frowned. "It's only your authority I rebel against. I listen just fine to Xavier."

"Mmhm." Scott raised his eye.

"Cyclops listens to Corsair just fine. I don't see Dazzler listening that well, and that's what we need."

"Mr. Summers?" Chris and Scott both looked at Alison.

"Yes?" They said together before smirking at each other.

"I think I'd like to give this a try. I'll need two weeks for work, but then I'll be here."

"Sounds great," Scott said. "Your dad has my number. Give me a call next week with a rough idea of when you'll be here. We'll get your room ready-"

"Shouldn't your dad be the one agreeing?"

"My dad is an instructor, that's true, but this is my team. Other than Professor Xavier, I have been here the longest. I'm the only one who can speak for Professor Xavier when he's unavailable, like today. And while Scott will accept my dad's authority, Cyclops calls the shots over Corsair." Chris rolled his eyes.

"It's true. The instructors have their own classes or training schedules for the students, and we have to turn them in to Scott to approve." Alison thought about it and then nodded.

"Alright. I'll be here in two weeks."

"When you call next week, we'll go over the things you'll need and what we'll provide. We look forward to you joining us," Scott said, smiling.

"Welcome to the X-Men," Chris said, sticking his hand out for her to shake. She shook it and gave him a small smile.

"Corsair!" Chris' eyes went wide.

"Shit," Scott whispered.

"Ch'od! Raza! We weren't expecting you until tomorrow! Hepzibah is currently out with Madelyne and the girls."

"We were being chased and took a wrong turn that led us to Terra early," Raza told him.

"Who-?"

*Nate, we need you.*

*On my way.* Nathan came down the steps and saw the remaining members of the Starjammers, as well as Carter and Alison staring.

"We need this erased," Scott told him quietly. Nathan nodded and put a hand to his head. He hid Ch'od and Raza from sight and took their arrival from Carter and Alison. He nodded to Scott and Chris held his finger up to his lips to his friends.

"We'll see you in two weeks, Alison. It was wonderful meeting you."

"It was nice meeting you as well, Mr. Summers. I look forward to getting to know you better." Scott walked the two to the door and let out a breath when they finally drove off. Nathan chuckled

"Nice to see you two again," he said, shaking their hands. "I didn't think you'd make it in time."

"We wouldn't miss Cyclops' wedding!" Ch'od exclaimed. "Corsair knows how much I love weddings." Chris rolled his eyes, but the smile proved just how happy he was that his friends were in the same building as him once again.

"This building seems different," Raza noted, looking around.

"I have so much to catch you two up on," Chris said, sighing dramatically. "Why don't we head up to my room and we can talk? Gabe should be up there, and I'm sure he'd like an update on… things." Ch'od and Raza nodded and Chris turned to Scott.

"I've got some stuff to do," Scott told him. "I'll see you in a bit, alright?"

"You sure?"

"Yeah. Go see your friends. Maddie left me a honey-do list that she expects done before Friday."

"I do not miss those," Chris said with a smile.

"Such encouragement. Thanks, Dad. I'll get some lunch and then I'm in the nursery for a bit. Would you mind coming to get me, or sending Nathan, when it's time for dinner? I don't want to forget, but you know how I am when I focus on something."

"Will do, kiddo. Love you."

"Yeah, love you too, Dad." Chris walked off and up the steps with the Starjammers and Scott smiled while shaking his head.

A/N: OK- I'm about 3 weeks out from my due date and I have a question for everyone. Would you prefer I post a chapter a day for the next three weeks/until it's done, or do what I've been doing and post 1-3 times a week?

Please note that if the baby comes before the story is uploaded completely, there might be (as in there will be) a bit of a delay between chapters. And I'm having to rewrite story 8 (which hasn't gotten a lot of attention last few days because I've developed SPD, which means the muscles in my pelvis are too relaxed and I have next to no support for a baby who is, according to my most recent ultrasound, already 6 lbs, 4oz and will roughly gain 1/2 a lb every week until she's born), so I have no idea when that'll be done and ready to post.

I WILL NOT HOLD THE CHAPTERS FOR RANSOM FOR ANSWERS! If no one tells me what they'd prefer, then I'll just keep doing what I've been doing posting wise and hope you all extend me some grace and understanding for real life situations that are unavoidable.
