Vanishing Point

Rip was taken to Time Master Druce down the halls and he had the guards leave them.

"I have a query." Rip says.

"Why haven't I killed you yet?" Druce guesses.

"It's what you've been trying to do all this time." Rip states.

"Fortunately for you, three of your crew are still at large. They commandeered the Jumpship and escaped." Druce informed him and Rip knew well of that thanks to Savage. "Tell me where to find them, and I'll spare the others."

"If it's anything like the offer you gave me in the USSR, I'm sorely tempted." Rip replies sarcastically, remembering the plea deal he offered and ended up trying to kill him.

"You were a fugitive of justice." Druce defends his actions.

"You're helping Vandal Savage take over the world. I have a feeling that our definition of the word justice may differ somewhat." Rip states.

"The only difference between us is my view of the timeline reaches further and wider than yours."

"Am I supposed to be impressed?" Rip asks.

Druce then sighs and activates what looks to be a map of the timeline. "Something is coming. Something that nobody here is able to see. Something that is clawing its way through all of time and space. Without Savage there to unite the world under a single rule, all of the planet will be destroyed. Even this realm falls to whatever is coming."

"This is not possible." Rip whispers as he watches as the Earth almost looks like it's being turned into pixels before vanishing.

"Are you impressed now?" Druce asks with a smug smile.

"No. You are as mad as your friend Vandal if you think that he is the world's only hope." Rip states.

"We've examined the timeline. There is no other hope." Druce tells him and Rip now wonders exactly what is coming as he's dragged back to his cell.

Waverider

The floors of the halls begin to open as Snart and Peter sit up from in them.

"Good thing you knew about these hidden compartments." Snart congratulates Peter while dusting himself off.

"Discovered them while walking through the halls, noticed how hollow they were, compared to the rest of the floor." Peter says as Mick pokes his head out of the floor.

"Then what the hell was the point of sending out the Jumpship?" Mick questions.

"I didn't send it anywhere. Just activated the cloaking and made it look like we left in it." Peter explains to him.

"So that way it makes it look like we escaped." Snart guesses.

"Now they won't think to look for us here. They'll be searching history for us and not their own home." Peter finishes as he gets out and Mick starts climbing out. "And since we have our own Timeship, they won't think to guard the Waverider."

"Great. So what's the plan now? Escape in the Waverider?" Snart asks.

"Nah, we've got an armada of Timeship's surrounding us." Peter told them. "Besides, we still need to go back for the others."

"Got a plan for that?" Mick asks as he keeps drinking his beer.

"I was kinda hoping you guys did actually." Peter confesses to the two.

Snart starts to think for a second until the phone in Rip's office begins ringing.

"Who's calling?" Mick wonders.

"My question exactly." Snart agrees as Peter goes and answers it.

"Hello?" Peter calls in, wondering who's calling.

"Hello, Mr. Parker." The familiar voice of Gideon greets him.

"Oh, Gideon! Thank god." Peter sighs in relief. "How are you here?"

"I was able to upload into the latency core to avoid being wiped out when the Time Masters took over the Waverider." Gideon explains to him.

"Okay, do you know where the rest of the team is at?" Peter asks.

"They're in cell block 4587, and they are alive...for the moment." Gideon reported.

"What do you mean for the moment?" Peter asks.

"Not to worry. I have a plan." Gideon promises.

The three quickly got to work, placing small devices on each of the other Timeship's that look like small detonators before returning to the ship and waiting for the results.

"Even if this works, were never going to be able to fly out of here." Mick reminds them.

"Well, it's a good thing this is a Timeship. We don't need to fly." Peter reminds him as felt another wave of a headache coming in. "God, why are these happening?" He asks as he smashes his fist against his head to try and make it go away.

Snart looks sorry for him and decides he should know the truth. "I might've done something."

"What's new?" Mick asks as he goes for another beer from the kitchen.

"What did you do?" Peter asks, keeping a hand on his head.

"When you said you couldn't warn your dad, you never said someone else couldn't." Snart explains vaguely and now Peter is seriously scared.

"What did you tell him?" Peter asks and before he could respond, Gideon interrupted him.

"The Time Drive is back online."

Peter decides to leave it at that, considering their team is counting on them.

"Think you can fly this thing?" Snart asks as he lets Peter take the wheel.

"Well, I read the driver's manual." Peter admits as he takes the seat and Mick comes back with a six pack before taking his seat and Peter pilots them out.

The other Timeship's geared up to follow them, only to shut down and their onboard AI's to start singing.

Deuce goes back to the team's cells in anger about how they were tricked by a 14 year old's plan.

"Your friends have Time-jumped away." Deuce tells them. "So now, we've lost any reason to keep you alive."

"Hold on, let's talk about this for a moment." Ray begs of him.

"Kill them all." Deuce tells a guard who walks up with news.

"Yes, sir. But we've calculated when the Waverider is headed."

"Past or future?" Deuce asks.

"The present." He says as they feel the walls getting shot at as outside, Gideon is shooting all of the ships defenses at them.

Whilst inside, Mick and Snart come in blasting everything that moves as Peter comes down to their cells.

"Somebody order a rescue party?" Snart asks.

"Your timing is impeccable." Stein states as Peter uses his Iron-Spider suit to hack into the cells and opens them up.

"What do you say we get out of here?" Peter asks them as they make their way out and back to the Waverider.

"Now that's a rescue gone smoothly." Jax comments as they make their way out and into the Waverider.

"Now let's get the hell out of here. Gideon?" Rip asks the ceiling.

"I'm here, Captain. And it feels good to be back."

"I've missed you too." Rip says as they all take their seats.

"Now that we've had our reunion. I should mention we have a slight problem." Gideon tells them as they're being pulled back into the Vanishing Point due to the tractor beam.

"Should've taken care of that." Peter admits.

"Punch it, Gideon." Sara says as she takes the Captain chair. "Sorry, your job."

"No, Ms. Lance, stay right where you are." Rip says as he begins to try and dislocate it when suddenly Ray gets an idea and uses the old Chronos gear to shut it down and they quickly escape into the Temporal Zone.

Temporal Zone

"That was intense." Sara sighs in relief.

"So what do we do now?" Peter wonders.

"Well, depends on what they want us to do." Rip says, confusing them.

"What does that mean?" Mick asks.

"It turns out, everything we e done, maybe our whole lives, has been determined by the Time Masters." Rip explains, only raising more questions.

"What is that supposed to mean?" Snart asks.

"The Time Masters Have this thing called the Oculus, which allows them to not only gaze into the future, but engineer it. They're trying to prevent a event that is going to happen, but they don't know how it's going to happen." Rip exp;aims.

"And you can't stop what you can't see coming." Sara adds on.

Mick then goes and smacks Ray in the head. "Ow!"

"You saying the Time Masters wanted me to do that?" Mick asks.

"What I'm saying is that they've been engineering our lives to move in very specific directions." Rip explains to them simpler.

"Then why would they want us to escape?" Peter asks them, confusing everyone. "Think about it, if they wanted to kill us, they obviously had the ability to kill you, and they didn't know where we were hiding."

"The kid's got a point." Snart agrees. "And I say if someone is messing with my life, I say we mess with what's messing with us."

"You want to break back into the Time Masters headquarters and destroy the Oculus?" Rip asks.

"It's suicidal." Stein states.

"Bad idea." Mick says, stuffing his face.

"Where do you keep all this food you eat?" Peter finally asks as it seems he's either eating or drinking every second he sees him.

"Actually, it does occurs to me that Deuce says that they can't control us in the Vanishing Point." Rip suddenly remembers.

"So if we go back, we come up with a plan and destroy it." Sara says and is on board.

"I like it." Snart agrees.

"Let's do it." Jax says.

"All right, team. I think it's about time we seized our destinies back." Rip agrees with his crew.

Snart was roaming the halls, casually as Peter comes running up to him.

"Hey, Snart!" Peter called out as Snart stops and turns to face him. "I remember what you said back on the bridge. What did you do?"

Snart sighs and leans against the wall. "I could tell you, but maybe I was just following a script."

"Tell me." Peter tells him.

"I told him the truth." Snart says, only for Gideon to once again interrupt them.

"Sorry to interrupt, but we have arrived at the Oculus Wellspring."

"Saved by the bell." Snart says as he strolls off, leaving Peter to question what truth.

"Based on Captain Hunter's description, the Oculus is a massive temporal computer, most likely powered by a scaled down supernova contained at the bottom of the Wellspring." Stein tells them.

"Where's Mr. Parker?" Rip asks.

"Kid says he had a last second change of plan." Mick explains.

"Okay, let's go blow up this computer." Mick says as they all exit the ship and start walking towards the building, only to be cornered by the Time Masters and Deuce yet again.

"Hello again, Rip." Deuce greets as everyone gets ready to shoot. "Right on schedule."

"I think we walked into a trap." Ray says as he suddenly got a message.

'Duck!'

"Get down!" Ray shouts as everyone does exactly that and the Jumpship comes flying in and starts exploding all around them, killing the guards.

The Jumpship lands and Peter exits out in an all black suit with red webbing outline and a giant blue spider on the back with a small blue spider on the front.

"Returning the Jumpship to the Waverider. Good luck, Mr. Parker." Gideon says as the ship takes off.

"Was that part of the plan?" Mick asks.

"Thought we could use a last minute change." Peter explains as he approaches them. "Thought of this a few seconds after we made it here."

"Nice thinking, kid." Snart says to him.

"Yes, good work, Mr. Parker." Rip congratulates him as they keep going. "We need to hurry before reinforcements arrive."

They keep going and make into what looks like a waterfall made out of the same stuff they see inside the Vanishing Point followed by a computer in the middle of it all.

"It'll take about two minutes to figure out how to self destruct this thing." Ray tells them.

"We'll buy you some time." Rip promises as he and Mick stay to protect him.

Reinforcements arrive and they quickly begin to make work of them to keep Ray safe.

"Settle down, guys. No need to rush in. We have enough punches for everyone!" Peter promises them all as they all keep coming and they just keep attacking until Rip comes running out alone.

"Where's Ray and Mick?" Snart asks as he shoots the last guard.

"Raymond is in my pocket, Mr. Rory has volunteered to stay behind." Rip tells them.

"Wait, why?" Peter asks s he leaps over to them.

"Someone needs to be present to destroy the Oculus. Mick elected himself." Rip explains and Snart goes running off, followed by Peter, wanting to see what he has planned.

The two fight their way through and make it to Mick.

"Mick, what are you doing?" Snart asks.

"Get out of here!" Mick tells them.

"Not without you!" Snart says.

"Pretty boy says I gotta gold this stick for the ship to blow, so I'm holding the stick." Mick replies, determined to stay. "Now leave!"

"My old friend, please forgive me." Snart says, determined to not leave him behind.

"For what?" Mick asks as Snart knocks him out as Peter finishes off the guards and looks confused and takes off his mask.

"Get him out of here! Snart tells him.

"No, I'm not leaving you." Peter promises.

"Just do it, kid. You've got a life ahead of you." Snart tells him and Peter doesn't want to say goodbye to another father-figure.

But if he stays, the world will still be in trouble.

With nothing else to do, he races over and hugs Snart who returns it and then whispered something into Peter's ear.

"Live like a legend." Snart tells him and Peter nods in compliance before running over and picking up Mick and using a web to drag the cold gun with him.

Deuce runs in with guards who notice Snart and what he's doing.

"No. Shut it down." Deuce demands and Snart doesn't comply. "Shut it down!"

"There are no strings on me." Snart told him before activating the self destruct and destroying the whole Oculus, along with himself.
