Avengers Mansion

After Sonic had woken up, everyone including his friends were welcoming him back with kindness and compassion. Even Shadow seemed happy to see him, even though he would never tell anybody that.

SONIC: Hey shads, ya miss me?

SHADOW: Just because you were tortured by a lunatic clown and you were in a coma for three days doesn't mean you get to call me that.

SONIC: Aw, nice to see you two shads.

Shadow rolled his eyes at that comment.

KNUCKLES: You had us worried for a bit there pal, but I knew you would pull through.

THOR: Aye, we all kept a vigil eye on you during your coma.

FLASH: Yeah, I knew you would come back, after all, if you died, I would never prove I'm faster than you.

Sonic laughed at that comment.

SONIC: In your dreams.

After a few minutes of conversation, the monitors picked up an Emerald and Stone location, in Mystic Ruins.

CAP: We've picked up another location for the Emeralds and Stones, specifically the Time Stone. Sonic, I know you just got back, but if you could speed there and check it out, it would be a huge help.

SONIC: Sure, Flash can go with me. This could be the perfect opportunity for us to see you really is faster.

FLASH: You're on!

And with that, the two speedsters sped off to Mystic Ruins.

On the way to the Mystic Ruins

Flash and Sonic were racing to Mystic Ruins. They were neck and neck, until Flash actually started trying.

FLASH: Not bad kid, but now I'll actually start trying.

Flash then sped off at Mach 10,908 leaving Sonic in the dust. Sonic had never gone that fast, he didn't even think it was possible to go that fast.

SONIC: WHAT? He was holding back this whole time? And his speed, I've never gone that fast, I didn't even think it was possible to go that fast! Well no one is faster than me! No one!

Sonic then pushed himself to his limit, he went faster but not fast enough to catch up. He then pushed himself to his limit, then something happened to Sonic that never happened to him before, he was sweating. Still he pushed himself, and pushed, and pushed, and pushed. He didn't notice but his body was now covered in blue electricity, then his eyes turned from their usual green, into an electric blue colour. He closed his eyes and began to focus. Then he opened his eyes and with a mighty shout, he sprinted faster than he had ever gone before, not as fast as Flash, but faster than he had ever been before.

Mystic Ruins

Flash was already there waiting for the blue hedgehog, then out of nowhere Sonic sped to Flash's side covered in blue lightning. The fact he had a lightning trail confirmed Flash's suspicions. In Mobius, The Speedforce had chosen their Flash, and their choice was none other than Sonic.

SONIC: DUDE! DID YOU SEE ME? I'VE NEVER GONE THAT FAST BEFORE IN MY ENTIRE LIFE! AND I WAS COVERED IN BLUE LIGHTNING AND EVERYTHING! AND HOW DID YOU GET SO FAST? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS!

FLASH: Yeah, it's a rush, but you did confirm what I have been thinking since I first met you. You were chosen by the Speedforce.

SONIC: Speedforce?

FLASH: The source of power for all speedsters, like you and me, and all the other speedsters in the multiverse.

SONIC: There are more speedsters out there?

FLASH: Yep, a whole multiverse of them, the Speedforce only chooses those who are worthy enough to be Flash's, and by the looks of it, you're a worthy kid. You're the Flash of Mobius.

SONIC: Wow! I'm honoured.

FLASH: How did you get your powers anyway?

SONIC: Had them since birth.

FLASH: Huh. The Speedforce must've always known you would do great things with your powers. Come on, I'll explain more about it to you later, let's go find those rocks.

And with that, Flash and Sonic sped off to search, not noticing the jackal watching them from a distance. After a few minutes of searching, the two speedsters found what they were looking for. A Chaos Emerald and the Time Stone, laying there out in the open, Sonic thought it was suspicious but he went for them anyway. But when a red laser was fired at Sonic, Flash quickly intervened and grabbed Sonic and The Emerald as well as the Time Stone. Then a mysterious voice spoke to them.

?: Well look who's back from the dead, the little blue saviour, but what's that I smell? You reek of fear, glad to see I left an impression.

SONIC: T-that voice! It can't be!

FLASH: Who?

Infinite then revealed himself to the heroes, being alive and well.

INFINITE: I'm glad to see you remember me hedgehog. You should've known I wouldn't be gone for long.

SONIC: INFINITE!

FLASH: Who's he?

SONIC: He helped Eggman take over our world for six months! But when I kicked his tail in, he turned and ran.

INFINITE: I made a tactical retreat, RABBLE! And you have something that belongs to me!

SONIC: What, these? Sorry but we've been collecting them lately and we wanna get the full set. Sorry you snooze, you lose.

INFINITE: Like you said when we first met, I insist.

Infinite then used the Phantom Ruby to make a fake reality. In that reality, 3 giant cannons appeared and fired at the 2 speedsters, but they dodged with ease. While Flash was running circles around the cannons, Sonic used his new and improved speed to quickly spin dash Infinite, breaking the fake reality.

INFINITE: What?! Impossible! I've been observing you for months and not once were you that fast!

SONIC: You've been watching me for months? Didn't think you were a stalker Infinite.

Infinite fired a blast at Sonic, which he easily avoided and ran behind Infinite and kicked him in the back of his head. Before Sonic could knock him out, Infinite used the Phantom Ruby on Sonic, causing him to have flashbacks of what Joker did to him, stunning him in the real world. Infinite was about to attack when Flash ran to him and knocked him out. Flash ran over to Sonic's side.

FLASH: SONIC! SONIC CAN YOU HEAR ME?

SONIC: N-NO! NO NOT AGAIN! STAY AWAY FROM ME JOKER!

FLASH: SONIC! JOKER IS DEAD! HE'S NOT HERE, HE ISN'T GOING TO HURT YOU OKAY.

Before Sonic snapped out of it, he saw Joker laughing at him.

SONIC: F-Flash?

FLASH: You all good kid?

SONIC: Y-yeah, I'm good. Where's Infinite?

FLASH: Taking a little nap. Come on let's take him and our winnings back to the mansion.

And with that, Sonic defeated Infinite with ease due to his increased speed and power, and they took him back to the mansion to place in a holding cell.

Avengers Mansion: Holding Cells

Infinite woke up in a holding cell, he noticed the Phantom Ruby was no longer in his possession. He looked up to see Sonic, Tony and Superman watching him from outside the cell.

INFINITE: Where am I? What is this?

TONY: This is a state of the art holding cell, and it's gonna be your home for a bit.

SONIC: P.S. I defeated you, easily. Too think I had trouble with you earlier. Now Infinite spill, why were you at Mystic Ruins?

INFINITE: Fine, I'll tell you why, but it won't help you stop what's coming. I was hired by The Empire Of Doom.

SUPERMAN: Empire Of Doom?

SONIC: I'm assuming that's Eggman's Boy Scout troop?

INFINITE: You assume correctly, though I was hesitant to work for the Doctor again, the pay was too enticing to pass up. I mean their base was God like.

TONY: God like?

INFINITE: Yes, leading to the base was a rainbow bridge, and their citadel was literally pure gold. So I thought, if I work for these guys, maybe I could get something like that. Plus I got another chance to kill Sonic so there's that too.

TONY: Oh my God, I know where their hideout is, Rainbow bridge and gold citadel. There's only one place with features like that.

SUPERMAN: Where?

TONY: Asgard.
