Chapter 19

It was a beautiful day, the sun shining brightly above their bodies. Lying stretched out together on a sun lounger. The ocean breeze cooling their sun-soaked skin. With her head on his chest, Anna was looking down at the wedding band on her left hand, a smile on her face. Their honeymoon had been perfect so far, even the weather was cooperating. Hot sun-filled days, cold clear evenings perfect for walks on the beach, dancing after dinner, lovemaking. The feeling of sheer bliss hadn't lessened since they had said: "I do".

Robert ran his fingers through her hair. "Now that you are my wife again, no one and nothing will come between us."

"Never again," she agreed, with a smile. "I am so happy the wedding ceremony is behind us."

"It was a beautiful day but yeah so am I." Then he kissed the top of her head. "I just wanted to be married to you again, like I always should have been." Putting his hand to her chin, Anna looked up at him. "I love you, Anna Scorpio."

"And I love you," she said smiling up at him as he leaned down and kissed her tenderly.

They had come here right after the wedding reception and so far most of their honeymoon had been spent close to their bungalow. Lazy days spent enjoying the sun, as evening approached they would sit and watch the sunset cuddled together on a lounger then go out for dinner and maybe a little dancing. They would take short walks along the beach but most of the time they just wanted to be alone. Soon there will be a little boy in their life that will keep them very busy and they both knew they might not get many opportunities to be alone like this for a while.

"I think it's time we get ready and go have dinner," Robert said stroking her hair.

"The only problem with that is that then you'll have to put on a shirt," she said with a little laugh as her hand moved up his chest.

"Yes, but I will let you take it off as soon as we get back here. I'll even help you take your clothes off," he told her with a playful grin.

"Oh, will you?" She kissed him again then sat up. "Alright, time for dinner."

Anna couldn't believe how happy she is now, how happy she's been since she knew they were going to finally have a life together. Now she has her perfect man back, she is his wife again and that is never going to change. As she walked back towards the bed she smiled seeing him watching her. "You are breathtaking. My wife is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen."

"Thank you," she said with a grin. "I can't believe this is already over and we head home tomorrow."

"Back home to officially start our life together, again," he said as he put his arms around her as she moved closer to him. "I will always try to make sure we still get time for just the two of us. I know we're gonna have our hands full with this little one soon but you are the woman I love, the woman I need, that I crave. I promise to never stop romancing you." He leaned in and kissed her tenderly, the passion started to grow as soon as their lips touched.

Anna moaned into his mouth as her hands moved up his bareback. Desire coursed through her body at his slightest touch. Slowly he removes her nightie then trails kisses along her shoulder, to her neck. She tilted her head to the side as she undid the tie on his pyjama pants, letting them fall to the floor.

Robert lowered them both to the bed, the need for her growing by the second. Once on the bed, her leg went over his hip. They had discovered many positions on their honeymoon that she was still comfortable in and could fully enjoy herself in. As he adjusted his hips she knew this was starting slowly, sensually. Her head went back as the tip of his shaft started to rub across her wet opening. "Oh, Robert."

Slowly moving his hips, driving her wild with anticipation. His hand slid down her side, pulling her closer. He found her lips and kissed her passionately as he slowly buried himself inside her. There will never be anything that comes close to this, he knows she is all he will ever need.

They started to move together, both knowing what the other wanted, what they needed. They changed positions to bring more pleasure to the other, then changing again wanting nothing more than to satisfy each other completely.

Anna lay spent in Robert's arms after their shared orgasm. The smile on her face painted a very clear picture. "That was amazing."

Robert stroked her back as he kissed the side of her head, "I get to spend the rest of my life doing this with you." He put his head back and closed his eyes. "I do love you."

"And I love you." Anna adjusted herself, getting comfortable, using Robert as her body pillow. Once she was settled in they both contently drifted off to sleep.

Back in her office almost a week after getting back from their honeymoon Anna sat looking over a case file. Sean was going to be there soon to talk about it. It was still a little awkward between them but it has gotten a lot better. They all accept it will take time for the friendship to heal and Anna hoped it would be the same as it was before he told them the truth.

Sean knocked and walked in, "Sorry, I was just finishing up a phone call."

She looked up and gave him a quick smile, "That's alright I was just refreshing myself with the case."

He grinned back, "How are you doing?" He was truly glad they had not turned their backs on him, that he still gets to be her business partner. This had been their venture that he had only stepped into because Robert took the commissioner position again, either of them could have given him the boot.

"I'm really good. The honeymoon was amazing and now what I'm most looking forward to is this little guy getting here." Anna put her hand on her stomach as she spoke. "We are going to start setting up his room next weekend. I want everything to be ready for when he gets here."

"That's great Anna." As she spoke Sean was hit with a realization. He wants what they have and the woman in his life is the one he wants it with. Tiffany Hill is the woman he wants to have that life with. It's so clear, he loves her and there will never be another woman like her. He's thought about this before but now he knows for sure this is what he wants. "I guess we should get started, I'm sure you want to get home at a decent time."

"Robert understands when I get caught up working on a case and stay a little later. He does the same thing."

Sean dropped the folder he was holding on the desk as he sat down, "So, Turner has been cheating on his wife and his taxes. Let's see if his business partner is right about this as well." Then they got down to work, they both may have other things, well people on their minds, but this was work and they needed to wrap this case up.

When Anna got home that evening Robert was already there. He was in the kitchen with Robin and they were cooking dinner together. A broad smile lit up Anna's face as she saw them. "What are you two up too?"

"Hi, Mommy. We wanted to make you something special so we're making you chicken alfredo," Robin told her with a big smile.

"That sounds delicious." She walked over and gave them both a kiss then let them get back to cooking as she went and got herself something to drink. Coming home to them felt so right, this is the life she had always wanted. What she had pictured for so many years until she thought it could never be, thankfully she had been wrong about that. She put her hand on her stomach as the baby started to kick. A feeling of contentment filling her body. This is all she has ever wanted, a family and a life with Robert.

They had been back from their honeymoon for just over three weeks when Sean dropped in to see Robert one afternoon. They had talked a little since the wedding and it was getting better between them. There had been a few times when Robert was in a bad mood and he had snapped at Sean about the past but mostly they were trying to move past that.

"Hey old buddy, are you busy?" Sean asked as he entered the office.

"No, not really, what's up?" Robert asked as he closed the file he was going over.

"I need to talk and you're the one I need to talk to."

"What the hell else did you do?" he all but yelled as concern shot through his body.

Sean just grinned, "Oh don't worry, this doesn't have anything to do with you," he insisted. "I," Sean paused, rubbing his chin, "I'm going to ask Tiff to marry me."

A smile quickly replaced his scowl, "That's great, Sean. I knew you'd come to your senses at some point as see she's the only one for you."

"I love her, Robert, I really do," he said with a grin and a little shake of his head. "I didn't know I could love a woman as much as I love her."

Robert knew Tiffany is the perfect match for him. They respect they both have busy lives, they don't dwell on their pasts and most of all he knew they both truly loved each other. "Do you have a plan yet? You know you're gonna have to do something awfully special."

"Yeah, I am aware of that but I haven't gotten as far as planning. I picked out the ring but now I'm not sure if it's right. If she'll even like it."

Robert smiled again, "Come on as long as it's beautiful, huge and expensive she'll love it."

"Well, it's all of those."

Sean pulled out the ring box and tossed it over to Robert. When he opened it, he was a little surprised by the exquisite ring Sean had picked out. "Blimey, I'm sure glad I asked Anna before Tiffany was walking around with that on her finger."

"It's not on her finger yet."

"Are you worried she won't say yes? Tiff loves you."

"I know, that's why I don't want to mess this up."

"For Miss Hill, I think you should be planning over the top," Robert suggested.

"You're probably right." This was good, Sean thought. He wasn't sure how Robert was going to react when he came here but it was feeling more and more like it had before the more they saw each other. After picking up the ring his nerves had started to get the better of him and the first person he thought of to talk to was Robert. After Robert handed to ring back Sean asked, "What do you say to getting out of here and getting a bit to eat?"

"I could eat," Robert said with a grin and stood up. "And you're buying."

"Of course I am. Let's get out of here," Sean said as they both started for the door.

It had been a little over a month since Anna had married Robert. That thought alone left a bitter taste in Duke's mouth. He took another sip of his drink. Thankfully it was Monday and the club was closed today. No one was here to watch him drink in his sorrow.

Duke had been busy with running his clubs but that had not stopped him from dwelling on the belief that he was going to be a father. Even if Anna wouldn't admit it he knew that was his child she was carrying. If he had to he would wait and let them live in their land of pretend for now but once that child is born he will insist on a DNA test. Maybe he has lost Anna to Scorpio but he will not let that man take his child from him and claim them as his.
