Chapter 11 Endgame
Sean sat next to Korra as she slept to recover from last night's trauma from Tarrlok. He was royally pissed Tarrlok used her feelings for him against her to make her think he was dead. Part of him wished he had finished the job but felt having no arms and legs was a better punishment to stay that way for all his days.
As she rested he placed his hand on her before she gently squeezed it making him smile.
Outside the room Asami saw it all and smiled seeing how much Sean really cared for Korra.
"Never seen this side of him before." Turok said behind her. "He's always been more warrior than protector." Turok said.
"Hopefully this pushes them together." Asami said.
"I doubt it. Hell she cried when she thought he was dead and he only said they were very close. He's still haunted by his past." Turok said making her frown.
Later
Everyone was at the table eating as Korra was regaining her strength.
"The food tastes amazing, Pema. I'm starting to feel like myself." Korra said.
"We're so thankful you're home safe." Pema said getting the dishes.
"Let me help." Asami said helping her clean.
"Korra, I realize you've been through a lot, but I need to know everything that happened." Tenzin said.
"That can wait." Sean said.
"No...He's right. First off, Tarrlok isn't who he says he is. He's Yakone's son." Korra said shocking them.
"Who's Yakone?" Sean asked.
"Yakone was Republic city's most dangerous criminal over 40 years ago and he could blood bend without a full moon. That explains how he was able to do it to us." Lin said.
"And how did you learn this?" Sean asked Korra making her smile.
"Did exactly what you said. I meditated and connected with Aang. The visions were trying to warn me about Tarrlok." Korra said making him grin before placing an arm around her.
"If you can do that your one step closer to doing Airbending." Sean said making her grin.
"And where is he now?" Tenzin asked.
"Sean tore off his arms and legs." Korra said grinning at him.
"Actually that was Turok." Sean said.
"Oh sure put all the attention on your little brother." Turok said amused making them chuckle.
"However Amon showed up after we did." Sean said getting serious.
"What?" Tenzin asked shocked.
"He showed up out of nowhere. I don't think we need to say why." Sean said.
"This is most disturbing. Amon is becoming emboldened. I fear he may be entering his endgame." Tenzin said.
"Which is what? Who is this guy anyway and why are you all concerned. He's just one man." Turok said.
"Amon has the ability to take peoples bending away for good. We don't know how he does this though which is what makes him very dangerous." Sean said.
"Oh." Turok said seeing the issue.
As they were talking Asami and Pema were cleaning the dishes.
Suddenly Pema cried out holding her waist making Asami worried.
"Pema, are you all right?" Asami asked concerned.
"The Baby is just kicking really hard, is all. I'm fine." Pema said.
"Should I get Tenzin?" Asami asked.
"No reason to worry him. It's nothing." Pema said as Sean walked in.
"Can I get some hot water. Korra needs more tea." Sean said.
"You use fire magic. Boil it yourself." Asami said making him raise an eyebrow while Peme looked uncomfortable.
"I'm gonna step out in case you two want to talk." Pema said leaving.
"Do we have some kinda problem?" Sean asked confused.
"You tell me. Your the one who's rejecting Korra's feelings." Asami said.
"What in the hell are you talking about?" Sean asked.
"Korra basically cried when she thought you were dead. And you still won't accept her feelings." Asami said.
"I..." Sean tried to say.
"Sean...I see how Korra looks at you. She doesn't just care about you...She loves you." Asami said making him sigh closing his eyes.
"I know. And nothing would make me happier than to love her back. But I can't...Because of what happened in the temple." Sean said.
"Look whatever happened cannot be that bad." Asami said before Sean's eyes glowed showing her the final memory before she gasped stepping back looking at him in shock.
"You still think that? Theres a special place in hell for people like me." Sean said making her look at him sadly.
"Then let her decide that. What are you so afraid of?" Asami asked.
"Of losing her. Afraid she'll hate me for my final crime." Sean said before he left.
Later
Tenzin was flying to city hall on Oogi before he landed and got off.
The others stayed behind incase Amon tried to anything.
As he walked to the door he quickly dodged electric disks before Amon's men tried to attack him but he used his airbending to defeat them.
"This is not good." Tenzin said before multiple explosions went off throughout the entire city before Equalist airships were seen. "This is not happening." Tenzin said in shock.
Meanwhile
Lin and the children saw the attack on the city.
"All right kids. Into the house." Lin said getting Jinora to lead them inside as the others rushed out.
"We heard explosions. What's going on?" Korra asked.
"Republic city is under attack." Lin said shocking them.
"I knew Amon was bold but this is nuts. And I'll bet you anything Hiroshi made those airships." Julia said making Asami narrow her eyes.
Up on one airship said man looked at a small pocket photo of his family before closing it as he approached Amon.
"I've dreamed of this day for so long." Hiroshi said.
"Yes. The time has come for the equalists to claim Republic city as their own." Amon said.
Korra and the others on a ferry headed to the docks before they made it to Asami's car.
"I still say we should have brought Turok with us." Reznov said.
"Incase Amon goes after the Kids Lin will need some help." Sean said before Asami got in the drive seat and looked ahead before widening her eyes.
"Um...What is that?" Asami asked making them look seeing some creature eating a dead Equalist before Sean narrowed his eyes approaching it before it screeched.
Sean had been in service to Ares long enough to know the Harpy had been sent as a warning. A reminder of his past from his former master of the decision that had cost him everything.
Not a day went by where Sean wished he never made that deal with the God of War. A deal that had cost him everything.
Sean growled before pulling out his blades.
"Wretched beast! I know who it is you serve! Return to your master!" Sean yelled making it growl before flying away with it's meal. "Tell the God of War I am his no longer and he is not safe as long as I walk this Earth." Sean said before Korra approached him.
"So that thing..." Korra tried to say.
"Was a Harpy sent by Ares. Another reminder of my past. Never mind that now. We gotta find Tenzin." Sean said as Korra got in the car with Asami, Mako and Bolin while Sean and the others flew.
At Police headquarters everyone was in a panic.
"Chief, Air unit seven was just taken out by an equalist airship. They crashed into the harbor."
"Send a river rescue unit." Saikhan said.
"All river rescue ships hav been sabotaged."
"What?" Saikhan asked shocked before Tenzin rushed in. "Tenzin, am I glad to see you. I was afraid you'd been captured too." Saikhan said.
"I'm the only council member left. What's the status?" Tenzin asked.
"Amon has launched simultaneous attacks across the boroughs. The Police are trying to regain control, but we're spread too thin." Saikhan said making Tenzin frown.
"I need to send a wire." Tenzin said.
"To whom, Councilman?"
"The General of the united forces." Tenzin said.
More police officers were rushing to get their jobs done when gas filled the vents making them cough before collapsing.
"Councilman, your wire has been sent."
"Chief, the phone lines just went dead."
Suddenly the alarms went off before shutting off along with the power before Saikhan pulled out a flashlight.
Thats when the gas came out of the vents.
"Saikhan, the vents!" Tenzin said getting him to use metal bending to close them but more came through the door. "We need to evacuate immediately. Everyone stay close to me." Tenzin said.
Tenzin used his airbending to avoid the gas before they made it outside but came face to face with Hiroshi's Mecha-tanks.
"Not these Mecha-tanks again." Tenzin said before three of them used large magnets to capture Saikhan and his officers while the others fought Tenzin who tried to stop them but Saikhan and his officers were already gone and Teznin was down since he was outnumbered.
Suddenly Asami drove straight at them before Bolin created a ramp and they jumped off before the car flew in the air and into one of the tanks.
Sean roared as he flew down on one of the tanks before tearing off the top before pulling the head off the driver before Reznov electrocuted another completely.
Korra using her waterbending shoved water into the back engine making it malfunction before Bolin used earth bending to make it fall.
Julia flew in before using a large gust of air to blow another tank down with ease before Sean tore off the top as the driver screamed before Sean breathed fire at him making him scream in agonizing pain as he burned to death.
The other Equalists put Tenzin in a truck before one got electrocuted by Asami and did the same to the other before more showed up but Sean cut off their heads with his blades before rushing to Tenzin who woke up.
"Thank you." Tenzin said before rushing in to help.
Up from Above Hiroshi saw the whole thing and frowned.
"Once again Tenzin has escaped. I can't stand to see Asami fighting beside those benders and that Demon." Hiroshi said.
"We will capture them before long, and you will have your daughter back." Amon said.
On the ground
"Now I see why you needed us the first time you went up against this trash." Reznov said smashing the remains with his hammer.
"Are you all right?" Korra asked Tenzin.
"I'm fine. Thanks to you, kids. Another moment later and I would be on my way to Amon." Tenzin said.
"Uh, guys, Look." Mako said seeing an airship heading for air temple island.
"Oh, no." Tenzin said in alarm.
"Relax. Lin and Turok can handle things until we get back along with Spyro." Sean said.
"I can't risk that." Tenzin said as they rushed to Oogi.
On the island
Turok snarled seeing the airship before cables were launched on the ground.
"Everyone, hide inside and remain calm." Lin said before Pema screamed.
"What is it?" Turok asked.
"Mommy, whats wrong?" Ikki asked.
"The baby's coming!" Peme yelled shocking them.
"Oh why is it always in these kinda situations this happens?" Turok asked as Pema went inside with the children.
Turok snarled as Equalists arrived before turning into a large wolf and howled into the air before pouncing on some making them scream as he slashed their throats before charging at more of them.
Sean and the others flew to the island as they heard the howls.
"That doesn't sound like Naga." Korra said.
"It isn't. Thats Turok. I told you he could turn into animals from every land. This one is more common in his native lands." Sean said.
Turok snarled as he fought against the Equalists before the Lieutenant shocked him making him yelp in shock.
"The brother of the Demon. I'll put you out of your misery." The Lieutenant said making him snarl before.
"Get away from him!" Jinora yelled airbending him away.
The Lieutenant growled before Turok changed forms to something much worse. the Nemean Lion and roared loudly at him making him widen his eyes before ordering what men he had left to retreat.
Soon the others arrived.
"Ow." Turok said holding his arm. "I hate electricity. It always messes up my body." Turok said.
"Oh you'll be fine. Any trouble?" Sean asked.
"One...Teznin's wife went into labor." Turok said shocking him before rushing inside.
"Figures. Stressful situations always trigger labor." Reznov said.
"Mmm." Sean said.
"Uh oh." Julia said seeing more airships.
"Amon will just keep sending more troops till he wins. And because of Tarrlok's actions during that protest I'd say his numbers have increased greatly." Sean said before Tenzin and his family walked out with his new Son Rohan.
"What do we do?" Korra asked.
"I need to protect my family and get them as far away from this conflict as possible. If Amon got his hands on my children...I hate to even think of it." Tenzin said.
"If you're leaving, then I'm going with you." Lin said.
"What about us?" Korra asked.
"I sent word to the united forces. They will be here soon." Tenzin said.
"With backup we can turn the tide in our favor." Reznov said.
"What you saying is we need to be patient." Korra said before Sean placed his hand on her.
"Your learning well." Sean said making her smile lightly.
Soon Tenzin along with all the Acolytes were on Sky bisons.
"Stay safe." Korra said.
"You too." Tenzin said before getting on Oogi while Korra jumped on Spyro before they all flew away.
One Airship came at Spyro before he launched a fireball at it making it explode killing everyone inside before he breathed fire at the water to create a mist to confuse the Equalists.
"Good boy." Sean said before they landed by a tunnel.
Oogi however was still being followed by the Equalist airships before a net was fired at them but Lin destroyed it before launching her own cable to grab it.
"Whatever happens to me, don't turn back." Lin said.
"Lin, what are you doing?" Tenzin asked as she jumped to the airship before using metal bending to destroy it.
Then she jumped to the other ship and did some damage before being electrocuted.
This gave Tenzin and his family the chance to escape.
"That lady is my hero." Meelo said.
"Yes, she is." Tenzin said sadly.
Korra and the others were in the sewers before she frowned at the sight of so many Equalist airships at Air Temple island before Sean held her close.
"We should get moving." Sean said making her sigh before they walked further into the tunnels.
"I hate this." Korra said.
"I know. But there is no shame in accepting defeat. For now we simply wait." Sean said.
Meanwhile
Lin grunted as she was presented to Amon.
"Tell me where the Avatar is, and I'll let you keep your bending." Amon said.
"I won't tell you anything you monster. Besides you would just take it away later." Lin said.
"Fair enough." Amon said grabbing her head before he took her bending as she collapsed.
Days later
"It is a glorious day, my equalist brothers and sisters. Amon has torn down the tyrannical bending government! He has declared bending illegal. And he has both the Avatar and the Demon of Sparta on the run. Our Great leader has a vision for the future One day soon, bending will no longer exist and we will live in a world where everyone is finally equal. The united forces are on their way right now to try to stop that dream but we will prevail!" Hiroshi yelled getting a crowd to cheer.
Unknown to them Sean and Korra and Equalist gear were listening in before they walked away as Korra Earth bent a secret entrance before they jumped down and she covered it.
"I hate this stuff." Sean said getting out of the Equalist gear that covered his armor.
"Can you believe Hiroshi? The Avatar's on the run. I'm not running from anyone." Korra said before stopping. "Let's go back up there and knock some heads. They'll never know what hit them." Korra said about to go up but Sean stopped her.
"Relax. He's just running his mouth. Besides General Iroh's coming with an entire fleet of battleships. Then Amon will be the one who's running." Sean said making her sigh.
"I hate this being patient stuff." Korra said.
"Believe me I know the feeling. It took me forever to get that concept in my head. But patience is very rewarding." Sean said making her sigh before they headed back.
Later at night
As everyone slept Korra was resting with Naga.
"Can't sleep?" Sean asked walking to her with Spyro on his shoulder before sitting next to her.
"No, I have this awful pit in my stomach." Korra said.
"Hmm." Sean said understanding.
"It's so crazy. A couple months ago we were in the South Pole, with you training me for my fire bending test. And now we're in the middle of an all-out war." Korra said making him chuckle.
"Yeah...Life can change drastically like that." Sean said before laughing a little.
"What?" Korra asked.
"13 years ago you were just a little shrimp who was so hyper you couldn't even stay still. Now...Look at you. Nearly a full realized Avatar who's ready for anything." Sean said making her smile.
"I had good teachers...And a really good protector." Korra said making him smirk. "Sean? Are you ever gonna tell me what happened in that temple?" Korra asked making him face her. "You said I could decide if I wanted a relationship if I saw all your memories. Your holding the last one back." Korra said making him sigh.
"When we win this...I'll show you the last piece...And then you can decide if you really want that...Or if you'll hate me for my greatest sin." Sean said making her hold his hand.
"I don't care what happened 300 years ago. This is the real you here and now. Thats all I need to know." Korra said making him smile lightly before holding her close as sleep claimed them both.
"Ah young love." Spyro said.
"Shut it scale face." Sean said making him laugh.
Next morning
The group made it out of the tunnel to see if the United forces would be arriving soon before they made it to the top.
"Can you say fucking Ego?" Turok asked seeing Amon's mask on Aang's statue making Korra's eyes twitch.
"I hate him even more." Korra said.
"Same." Sean said looking out at the mist.
"Once the united forces arrive, we need to be ready to help in any way we can." Korra said.
"We will." Sean said assuring her.
"I see them." Reznov said seeing the ships coming in through the mist.
"Wait...Something isn't right. Where are the air ships?" Sean asked making Korra look seeing they weren't here as well.
"Come to think of it where are the Mecha-tanks?" Korra asked.
"Amon had to know they were coming. So what is he up to?" Mako asked.
Suddenly explosions in the water went off.
"MINES!" Julia yelled before Korra and Sean dived in to stop them.
Sean quickly summoned Poseidon's Trident before forcing all the mines into the air before they exploded.
Thats when they heard a low buzzing sound.
"What is that?" Korra asked.
"I don't know but it can't be good." Sean said before a few dozen high speed aircraft came in.
"Where does Hiroshi keep finding the time to keep inventing new evil machines?" Bolin asked.
On one of said machines Hiroshi was piloting his new invention before dropping bombs.
Sean quickly shielded Korra as a blast hit them forcing them away.
"You gotta be fucking kidding me!" Sean yelled before diving down.
Sean emerged from the water in his water God form before attacking the aircraft.
Hiroshi saw this and glared before firing two torpedos at him and hit him in the chest making him cry out in pain before being forced out making Korra gasp before she dashed to him.
Sean surfaced holding his chest.
"Ow." Sean said surprised by how much that hurt as Korra surfaced next to him.
"You ok?" Korra asked.
"Yeah but that hurt." Sean said before another battleship sank. "This is a losing battle. Find Iroh and lets get out of here." Sean said before the bridge exploded before said person flew to them before Korra grabbed him and Sean dashed them to shore.
Later
"I was prepared to deal with Sato's Mech-Tanks, but not these new high-speed aircraft." Iroh said as Korra used waterbending to heal him.
"He's well prepared I'll give him that." Sean said with the Trident in hand.
"Every time we think we have an advantage, Amon outsmarts us." Korra said.
"No matter what our plan is, he always has a better one." Bolin said.
"Amon is winning so far, but we're not out of this fight yet." Iroh said.
"How so?" Turok asked.
"A second wave of reinforcements is on the way. But I need to warn them. Do you still have a way to get a message out?" Iroh asked.
"We know just the man for the job." Korra said.
The man they first met in the Park known as Gommu had everything set up for a telegraph message.
"And who is the recipient of this top-secret message?" Gommu asked.
"Commander Bumi. Second division of the united forces." Iroh said making him crack his knuckles.
"Wait. Teznin's brother?" Sean asked.
"Yes. Bit of a wild man but the bravest fighter you'll ever meet." Iroh said.
"Ready, sir." Gommu said.
"Fleet ambushed and destroyed by Equalist aircraft. Retreat to Red sand island until my signal. Do nor. approach city until you receive the all-clear." Iroh said.
Reznov pulled out a map.
"Now comes the hard part." Reznov said.
"Grounding those aircraft for good. Judging from the way they came in I'd say theres an airfield behind the mountains." Turok said looking closely.
"Turok thats your specialty when it comes to tracking." Sean said.
"I'll could always go back to Asgard and Ask my uncle. He owes you a favor." Reznov said.
"We don't have that kind of time." Sean said as they prepared to leave.
"Wait. I'm sorry, but I'm not going. I'm sick and tired of hiding from Amon. It's time I face him." Korra said.
"Thats not a good plan. We need to stick together." Iroh said.
"I'm not waiting for him to hunt me down. My gut's telling me it's time to end this. On my terms." Korra said.
"Korra, this is not a mission you should be handling alone." Iroh said.
"She won't be alone. I'm coming with." Sean said walking to her.
"They need you more." Korra said.
"My mission is always to protect you no matter what. That isn't changing." Sean said.
Soon enough everyone was geared up and Sean and Korra were in Equalist gear before Turok approached his older brother.
"Good luck." Turok said.
"I have skill on my side." Sean said hugging him.
"Korra, Amon is a nasty dude. Be careful." Bolin said before she hugged him.
"I will. Good luck. If your going into the mountains, You should bring Naga and Spyro. " Korra said as Spyro flew to Bolin's shoulder while Naga was hugged by Korra. "Take good care of Bolin." Korra said before she licked him making Korra giggle.
"Lets go." Sean said placing a hand on her before they left and Sean used the Trident to make an air bubble to move to the island.
Once they got there they made it to land before seeing an airship before Amon was seen getting on.
"There's Amon." Korra said.
"We need to get into the temple. Then, when he returns." Sean trailed off.
"We ambush him." Korra said as they walked to the temple.
"What are you two doing here?" The Lieutenant asked making them freeze.
"We were just transferred." Sean said.
"Well, your getting transferred again. Amon wants extra security at the Arena today."
"For what?" Korra asked.
"The rally. You should have been briefed about this." The Lieutenant said.
"Sorry we kinda missed it by accident. We'll be there." Sean said as he left.
"I know another way in." Korra said before they left.
Using a secret entrance they made it to the tower before they came up top.
However they found something surprising.
"What the?" Sean tried to say seeing Tarrlok's dead body in a casket. Also in the room was a statue of Athena.
"Tarrlok?" Korra asked glaring at the dead corpse remembering his cruel torment when he made her think Sean was dead by his hands.
"I closed those wounds using fire magic. He must have died from the shock. But why keep him up here and in a casket?" Sean asked before looking at the Statue before approaching her. "I don't suppose you could fill us in?" Sean asked.
"You do realize your talking to a statue...Right?" Korra asked a little concerned.
"Wait for it." Sean said as it glowed before the eyes opened up surprising Korra.
"Hello Kruger." Athena said.
"Athena." Sean said kindly.
"Wait she can talk through her statues?" Korra asked.
"They all do this." Sean said before facing Athena again. "Why is Tarrlok here." Sean asked.
"Because Tarrlok is Amon's brother." Athena said shocking them.
"What?" Sean asked.
"The one you call Amon is actually from the Northern Water Tribe. His real name is Noatak and like Tarrlok is Yakone's son and a blood bender." Athena said.
"I knew there was something off about them. I kept sensing a strange energy signature from both of them." Sean said. (He said this to Tenzin in Chapter 7 incase people forgot)
"Your instincts were correct as always." Athena said.
"But Tenzin said Yakone had no children when he was in charge of the underworld when he had bending. So how are they his kids?" Korra asked.
"While it's true Yakone had no children during his days of power his gang helped him escape and gave him a new look and identity. From there he traveled to the Northern Water Tribe where he fell in love with a young and caring woman and had two sons Noatak and Tarrlok. When he discovered they were water benders he saw an opportunity to take revenge on Republic city. He trained them to do blood bending till they could do it without a full moon. However Noatak not wanting to be a tool of Revenge ran away during a training session and Yakone passed away years later." Athena said.
"So...Amon somehow uses Blood bending to take people's bending away?" Korra asked.
"He must be using it to seal the Chi paths that Benders use permanently like Chi-blockers." Sean said.
"Correct. Blood bending can be used for more than just violence. There are many forms of bending that exist and many can be used for multiple purposes. Thats one of the reasons Zeus created these lands using the last of the Titans magic." Athena said.
"Fuck. Our plan is screwed. If we stay here he'll just use it against us. Tarrlok was an amateur and he held me down for a minute. Amon is clearly even better." Sean said.
"Maybe not. We know now he's been lying this whole time. If we expose him at the rally the whole revolution will fall apart. We can take away his true power." Korra said making him grin.
"Yeah that could work." Sean said impressed by her plan. "And here I thought you prefered to solve problems with your fists." Sean said making her snort before punching his shoulder making him chuckle.
Meanwhile
Turok in his wolf form ran towards where the airbase would be before they found it and he turned human again as Naga came next to him.
"And there we are." Turok said seeing the airbase.
"Once we get down we'll need to destroy the landing strips to prevent them from taking off." Iroh said.
"Naga stay." Turok said making her whine before they approached the base and found Fence posts.
"Why would there be fence posts but no fence?" Asami asked as they crossed it before they screamed as they were electrified but Reznov who used his hammer to absorb most of it destroyed it.
"I hate your father so much." Reznov said before darts hit his skin. "Aw fuck." Reznov said before collapsing.
Meanwhile
Sean and Korra made it into the Arena seeing it all fixed up after Amon's attack weeks ago.
The whole place was packed.
"So once Amon shows up we can expose him as a Bender." Korra said.
"Ay." Sean said before said man finally appeared on the stage.
"Thank you all for joining me on this. historic occasion." Amon said as people cheered. "When I was a boy, A firebender struck down my entire family and left me scarred. That tragic event began my quest to equalize the world." Amon said.
"Thats a lie, Amon!" Korra said shocking him before she and Sean revealed themselves. "Or should we call you, Noatak." Korra said making him narrow his eyes.
"You want them taken out?" His Lieutenant asked.
"No. Everyone, calm down. We have nothing to fear from the Avatar or the Demon of Sparta." Amon said.
"STOP calling me that!" Sean said pissed off.
"Amon has been lying to you from the very beginning. The Spirits didn't give him the power to take people's bending away. He uses blood bending to do it. Amon is a waterbender." Korra said shocking the crowd.
"And just where do you get your facts from?" Amon questioned.
"From Athena." Sean said making him narrow his eyes. "Athena told us everything after we found your brother Tarrlok's dead body in a casket in the attic at Air Temple island. More so he's actually the son of Republic city's most dangerous criminal...Yakone." Sean said shocking the crowd.
"An amusing tale. But I will show you the Truth." Amon said removing his mask revealing a burn scar on his face.
"Nice makeup." Sean said shocking the crowd. "I've seen and made my fair share of flesh wounds in the past. Flesh that burns and bones that break. I know a fake wound when I see one." Sean said glaring at him.
"Of course you would. After all I know everything there is to know about you. The Villages you destroyed the children you murdered in cold blood. You did all of that willingly...Until the day at the temple." Amon said putting his mask back on while Sean squeezed the railing as his eyes had nothing but hatred for Amon's words while Korra looked concerned.
"Shut up." Sean said.
"Tell me Avatar. Do you know why he earned his title as the Demon of Sparta. Or why people despise him so much?" Amon said
Sean growled in rage.
"I know anything you say will be twisting the facts." Korra said.
"Oh no. I don't lie. Kruger earned his title from something Ares made him do 300 years ago. And rightfully so. Theres a special place in hell for people like him." Amon said making her glare.
"Your not wrong on that." Sean said shocking her. "It's true...What I did in my younger years...I did everything for the ultimate power...Until that day. I will never forgive myself for that. The one thing I would never do willingly." Sean said.
"So you say. But the fact of the matter is your very existence brings nothing but death and suffering. No matter where you go...No matter what you do people die and suffer because of you. The only way to keep them safe...Is with your death." Amon said.
"Thats a lie!" Korra yelled before the stage opened up behind them before Tenzin and his kids appeared tied and gagged shocking the two.
"No. They got away. We saw them get away." Korra said.
Meanwhile
Asami and the others woke up seeing they were tied up.
Thats when Hiroshi approached her.
"Asami, I know I have hurt you, And I am sorry. But I believe that one day you will come to your senses, and we can be a family again." Hiroshi said making Turok scoff.
"Are you insane? How can we be a family after everything you've done. Mom would hate you for what you become." Asami said.
"And I thought my uncle and his mother had issues." Reznov said.
"How dare you! I am avenging her death!" Hiroshi yelled.
"Avenging her death or just getting revenge on innocent people who have done no wrong? Did you know that Amon sent his men on Tenzin's people with the intent to kill?" Turok said shocking him.
"What? No your lying! He sent them to capture his children not kill them!" Hiroshi said.
"Then clearly you don't realize how far hatred goes. I sensed the intent in all but one. They wanted to kill the children including Tenzin's recently born child. And you helped make weapons that could have done that. Your revolution is based on lies and hatred. You think Benders and Non-Benders are two different people. But they aren't. They are one and the same. Avatar Aang had three children with the oldest being a non-bender who he clearly loved." Turok said making him look down.
"I..." Hiroshi tried to say.
"There are benders with non-bending friends and vice versa. Bending is just a tool. It's people that are the problem. All over the rest of the world outside these lands ordinary people start war for petty reasons. It's regretfully human nature for man to hate other men." Turok said making him frown.
"Are those your words or your brother's?" Hiroshi asked.
"Both. My brother made some terrible choices in his younger years. But he learned from his mistakes and tried his best to prevent others from making the same. He's never even gone back home since that fateful night in the temple 300 years ago out of shame for what he did. People make mistakes...But they also learn from them. Will you do the same...Or will you let hatred rule your life?" Turok asked making him frown looking down.
"I'm sorry...But I've come too far now. It's too late." Hiroshi said before an Equalist approached him.
"The airplans are ready for takeoff, sir."
"Good. Annihilate the fleet." Hiroshi said shocking them. "That's right, General. I intercepted your message to commander Bumi. I know exactly where they're hiding." Hiroshi said leaving.
"How are we gonna get out of here?" Asami asked.
"I don't suppose you know how to metal Bend?" Iroh asked Bolin.
"Uh no." Bolin said before Reznov concentrated before lightning engulfed his hands before burning his restraints off.
Thats when Naga rushed in and tore down the cage.
"I do so love the animals from these lands." Julia said before taking on her god form before flying out and attacked any aircraft that were trying to take off.
Reznov held his father's hammer in the air before thunder struck down on the planes.
"I do so love this hammer." Reznov said grinning.
Meanwhile
"Tonight, I rid the world of airbending...Forever." Amon said making the crowd cheer.
"LISTEN TO YOURSELVES!" Sean roared making them stop. "He has children hostage and your all cheering. Your disgusting!" Sean yelled making them stop and look at each other. "Have these people done anything wrong to any of you! Your all so full of hate you don't see yourselves becoming exactly into what you all hate! Tyrants!" Sean yelled shocking them all.
Amon however glared at him seeing his followers were seeing the truth in his words.
"Amon, let them go!" Korra yelled.
"You're welcome to come down here and try to stop me." Amon challenged before Sean jumped down to them.
Sean roared as he slashed his blades at him only for him to dodge before his followers tried to attack him only for Sean to grab them by the face before crushing them.
"Like I said. All you bring is nothing but Death and Misery. The only way to stop it...Is with your death." Amon said making him growl before Korra freed Tenzin who airbends Amon away before Sean quickly freed the children.
"Lets go!" Sean yelled as they rushed out.
"Get them out of here. We'll create a diversion." Korra said.
"Lets go get your mother and the baby." Tenzin said.
"Prison break!" Meelo yelled as the family rushed off.
Thats when Amon came in making Sean roar before creating a wall of fire before he and Korra hid in a room.
Amon jumped through the fire before looking for them but heard the door close.
Entering the room he slowly walked in while Korra and Sean hid in different parts of the room.
Korra held her hand to her mouth to keep herself quiet.
But suddenly she screamed as she was blood bent out of her spot and held in the air.
Sean roared as he charged at him but groaned in pain as he was blood bent as well before Amon grabbed Korra.
"No!" Korra screamed making Sean widen his eyes before Amon placed his palm on her head before he dropped her.
"I told you I would destroy you." Amon said.
"No." Sean said.
Meanwhile
Asami in a Mecha-Tank destroyed the remaining planes.
"Asami!" Hiroshi yelled in his own tank. "What do you think you're doing? You are aiding the very people who took your mother away!" Hiroshi yelled.
"You don't feel love for Mom anymore. You're too full of hatred." Asami said.
"You ungrateful, insolent child." Hiroshi said enraged before charging at her and knocked her down and broke the glass. "I now see there is no chance to save you!" Hiroshi yelled before Reznov blasted him with lightning.
"You are an even worse Parent than my Uncle's mother!" Reznov yelled before throwing his Hammer at him destroying his tank making him grunt in pain before it flew back to his hand.
"You really are horrible father." Asami said.
Meanwhile
Korra was on her knees without her bending.
"Finally, you are powerless." Amon said before looking at Sean who looked enraged as he tried to move. "And as I said. All you bring is nothing but misery to everyone you know. The only way to save those you care about...Is death." Amon said making him growl.
"Amon!" The Lieutenant yelled surprising him. "Everything they said was true wasn't it? I just saw you blood bend them."
Amon looked towards him before he took off his mask before stomping on it.
"You traitor! I dedicated my life to you!"
He charged at him with the intent to kill but Amon blood bent him in the air.
"You have served me well, Lieutenant." Amon said before throwing him away.
Amon than walked to Sean.
"As for you..." Amon tried to say before Sean roared as he delivered a deadly blow to his face sending him crashing into the wall. Sean growled before dashing to Korra and picked her up before rushing outside.
"My...Bending." Korra tried to say.
"Never mind that now. I'm gonna get you out of here." Sean said before grunting as he dropped her. Amon used his blood bending on him to keep him in place before smashing him on the walls.
"You impress me. No one has ever resisted my blood bending like that before. But I've had enough with you. Time for you to pay for all your sins." Amon said as Sean's body started twisting.
Korra saw this and widened her eyes in horror.
"NO!" Korra screamed throwing her fist out and shockingly airbent him away
Sean grunted as he landed on the wall before looking at Korra in shock.
"Impossible." Amon said shocked by this.
"I...I can airbend? I can airbend!" Korra yelled before using the forms she learned from hours of practice against Amon while Sean recovered from the blood bending experience.
Korra then groaned as Amon tried again but it wouldn't take.
"No...You...DON'T!" Korra yelled airbending him out the window behind him and out into the water where he crashed.
Doing so his followers rushed to see before his mask came up.
Korra groaned as Sean helped her up.
"You bending Tyrant!"
"EVIL AVATAR!" The fucking Peasant yelled before something came out of the water revealing it to be Amon without the scare on his face shocking everyone as he used water bending.
"They were telling the Truth!"
Amon glared before trying to blood bend everyone only for Sean's chain to wrap around him before slamming him around a few times making him grunt in pain before Sean jumped down in front of him and held him by the neck.
"I told you. I would kill you before this war is over." Sean said strangling him.
"And I'll say this once more. You bring nothing but death and Misery. The only way to end it...Is with your death!" Amon yelled making him glare before Sean snapped his neck killing him instantly before dropping his body. Sean looked at his latest victim before looking back at Korra and sighed.
Later
Everyone was back at the South Pole hoping Katara could reverse the damage Amon inflected on Korra's bending.
Even her parents were there to help support their daughter.
Thats when the doors opened up and Katara came out with a sad look.
"I've tried everything in my power, but I cannot restore Korra's bending." Katara said sadly.
"But you're the best healer in the world. You have to keep trying!" Lin urged.
"I'm sorry. There's nothing else I can do. Korra can still airbend, but her connection to the other elements has been severed." Katara said.
Thats when Korra came out.
"It's going to be all right, Korra." Tenzin said.
"I...Wait...Wheres Sean?" Korra asked making everyone look seeing he was the only one missing.
"What the hell? Where did the hell did that idiot go?" Turok asked before Korra frowned.
"All you bring is nothing but Death and Misery. The only way to stop it...Is with your death." Amon's voice echoed in her head before she widened her eyes.
"Oh no." Korra said before rushing out.
"Korra, whats wrong?" Tonraq asked concerned.
"I think he's gonna kill himself!" Korra yelled getting on Naga shocking them before they rushed to find him.
Sean stood at the edge of a cliff with a defeated look on his face. Even after all these years and the promise he made he had failed to protect the woman he cared for more than anything.
He had tried to prey to the gods to fix his mistake of what Amon did to her.
But for the first time in his life they did not answer him.
"The Gods of Olympus have abandoned me." Sean said looking up before looking down seeing the ice down below before taking a step forward. "Now there is..."
"NOO!" Korra yelled pulling him back much to his shock.
"THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING!" Sean yelled before she smacked in the face much to his shock.
"WHAT AM I DOING! STOPPING YOU FROM TAKING YOUR OWN LIFE!" Korra yelled.
"GET OFF!" Sean yelled pushing her off. "Amon was right. I bring nothing but death and misery to others. I couldn't...I couldn't even protect you just like." Sean trailed off stopping himself.
"Just like what? In the temple. Sean what happened in there? I deserve an answer." Korra said grabbing him making him look at her.
"You would just hate me like everyone else." Sean said.
"Let me decide that." Korra said firmly making him frown before sighing.
"Don't say I didn't warn you." Sean said before his eyes glowed.
Flashback
Korra found herself back in the temple before seeing Sean kneeling before his final victims as the servant of Ares.
For the rest of his life he would be forever haunted by his actions.
The visions of all the vile and terrible things he had done appeared in his mind.
Korra slowly walked to the front of seeing who his victims were before she covered her mouth in shock.
For how could Sean ever forget?
Spilling the blood of his entire family. Cousins, Uncles, Aunts, Grandparents.
Members of the entire family of every age even children.
And worst of all his mother and his beloved little sister.
A cruel trick orchestrated by the God of war.
Despite his issues with his family he had always loved them but would never admit it out of his pride as a warrior seeing it as a weakness.
Sean had a look of horror on his face as their blood was on his hands before picking up his sister.
"I...I don't understand. They were left in Sparta." Sean said before the flames next to him turned to Ares.
"You are becoming all I'd hoped you'd be Sean. Now with your entire family dead. Nothing will ever hold you back. You will become even stronger. You will become Death itself." Ares said before vanishing.
Sean broke down after that as he held his dead sister before taking his sister's necklace.
As the flames engulfed the temple Sean was on his knees outside with a look of untamed rage.
"ARES!" Sean roared before the Village oracle approached him.
"From this night forward. The Mark of your terrible deed will be known to all. The Blood of your family will be marked upon your body. Never to be removed." The Oracle said as the blood merged with his body in the mark Korra had known him for all her life. (The Mark of Kratos incase people forget)
And with that curse all would know him for the demon he had become. The Demon of Sparta had been born.
Sean roared into the air with rage and sorrow vowing revenge against the God who took everything from him.
End Flashback
Korra gasped as she stepped away making him sigh.
"Now you see me for the monster I am. I lost everything by my own hands. Deserve nothing but death. To die alone for the crimes I've committed. I'm nothing but a monster who murdered his own family." Sean said with his eyes closed expecting the worst from her.
Only to feel a gentle hand on his face before he looked at her.
"Not to me." Korra said gently shocking him.
"Korra I..." Sean tried to say.
"I don't see a monster. I see someone who's in pain for something he never meant to happen." Korra said.
"I..."
"Sean. I love you for who you are now. What happened in the past is over. You learned from your mistakes. You protected me, Trained me, Made me smile and cheered me up every chance you could. Thats the man I fell in love with with. Now and forever." Korra said before he couldn't take it anymore and collapsed to his knees and cried before she held him. "Shhh." Korra said.
"I never meant to hurt them like that." Sean said.
"I know. This is who you are now. The person Ares made you no longer exists." Korra said crying with him before they sensed someone behind her. "Not now Tenzin. Just leave us alone." Korra said before Sean looked up and widened his eyes.
"Uh wrong Airbender." Sean said in shock.
"What?" Korra asked before she heard a chuckle before turning to face.
"You two remind me of myself and Katara when I was hurt as well." Aang said standing before them.
"Aang?" Korra asked.
"Your finally connected to your spiritual self." Aang said as the two stood up.
"How?" Korra asked.
"When we hit certain emotional points both our lowest and highest we are open to the greatest change." Aang said before the other past avatars appeared.
Thats when Aang used Energy bending on Korra who smiled before it ended.
"Your journey for both of you has only just begun." Aang said before they vanished.
Korra then went into the Avatar state before doing all forms of bending again before she landed in front of Sean who smiled at her before pulling her into a kiss.
Everyone else soon found them and saw the kiss making them smile.
"I love you Korra." Sean said making her tear up burying her head in his chest.
"I love you too." Korra said.
Later
After Korra got her bending back she restored the bending to the innocent Amon took.
"You know there are still Equalists out there continuing Amon's dream. Nothing changed much." Reznov said.
"Well, I wouldn't say that." Sean said holding Korra's hand making her smile.
"Fucking finally. 300 years and now you go for a relationship." Turok said annoyed.
"At least I can get one." Sean shot back.
"Oh!" Reznov yelled laughing his ass off before falling backwards.
Korra shook her head in amusement seeing these two really were brothers.
Later that night Sean and Korra slept in the same bed as she held him close while he smiled before sleep claimed them both.
And for the first time since that fateful day at the temple Sean slept without the nightmares and the visions of his past.
The wounds had finally begun to heal.
Authors Note: And with that Sean and Korra's relationship begins as the wounds of his past finally begin to heal.
