RWMtB: Ever After

Embry and Angela: Book Signing

"Thank you so much, Mrs. Call!" the young girl exclaimed happily as her favorite author handed her back her signed copy of Angie W. Call's newest book.

Angela smiled and replied, "You're welcome, Tilly. And thank you for being a fan of my work."

The bespectacled woman smiled as the young girl ran off with her copy of her latest piece of written work, happy that she had made her happy. Today she was having a book signing in Port Angeles at the library upon the release of her new book, and fans would come to not only get a copy of her book, but have her sign it, as well as take a picture with her while holding her book. And during the last thirty minutes of the event, she would read the first chapter of her book to all of them. She had told her publisher it wasn't necessary, but she had insisted.

Soon another girl stepped up, this one seeming to be about fourteen and obviously very shy. Angela smiled kindly at her and introduced herself, asking her what her name was, to which the girl replied Angelina. Grinning Angela said, "Oh, we almost have the same name! That's exciting!"

"Th-Thank you," Angelina replied, a bright blush on her cheeks, but a lovely grin on her face.

Angela signed Angelina's book before taking a picture with her, Angelina beaming happily before thanking her and bidding her 'goodbye'. Once the girl was gone, Angela sighed and flexed her hands, rolling her neck a bit before asking rhetorically, "Alright, who's next?"

"I am, mommy!" a fake baby voice answered.

Blinking in surprise, Angela looked up to see her son hovering in front of her, laughter bubbling from his lips as Joseph gazed at his mother. Behind him was her husband, Embry grinning as he held their son, the response having obviously come from him. Not being able to help it, Angela laughed and asked, "What are you two doing here?"

Embry chuckled and walked around the table to his wife, bending down to give her a kiss—the line of people awing and cheering at the display—before answering, "We came to see our favorite woman in the world to congratulate her on her new book and book signing."

Joey reached for his mother, demanding he be held by her. Taking the toddler from her husband, Angela smiled and kissed his head before turning back to her spouse. "Thank you, Embry. That's so sweet of you to do, though it isn't necessary."

"Nonsense, Ang. This is another accomplishment of yours that deserves to be recognized and celebrated. And no matter what, I'm going to support you through it."

More love for her husband filled her heart and Angela stood with a happy smile before hugging Embry, Embry wrapping his wife in his arms to hug her in return. Joseph was settled between them and while he liked being with his parents, he didn't like to be squished either. Letting out a noise of protest, he lightly pushed Embry away before snuggling up to Angela, the action causing his parents to laugh. Giving Embry a quick kiss, Angela said, "I love you, Em."

"I love you too, Ang." Embry looked back to the patiently waiting crowd before turning back to the bespectacled woman. "It looks like you still have some books to sign. We'll wait in the kid section for you to be finished."

"I may not be done for another thirty minutes before I'm able to take a break."

"That's okay, we can wait. Can't we, Joey?"

Joey looked at his father from his position in his mother's arms, then smiled and reached for his father. Chuckling, Embry took Joseph and gave his wife one more kiss, congratulating her once more before turning to walk to the children's book section.

Angela smiled after her little family, happy that they had come out all this way just to support her at her book signing. And as she turned back to the line to get back to work signing books for excited fans, she couldn't help but think she had the best little family ever.
