Book Two Harry Snape and The Chamber of Secrets

Chapter Nineteen: Dobby The House Elf

Harry James Snape was officially twelve years old now and he was about to start his second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This year one of his closest friends Ginny Weasley would be starting her first year, and next year it would be his younger sister Sarah's first year.

"I can't believe Harry is going to be a teenager next year already." Severus said while coming down the hallway in his lounge clothes.

"Now don't get ahead of me Sev I'm still trying to get used to him turning twelve." Lily replied while she continued making breakfast in the kitchen. That's when suddenly Sarah came out of the bathroom with her hair (unlike Harry's usually was when he first got up) already neat and tidy.

"Good morning Mummy." Sarah began with a grin as Lily turned her head to look over at her daughter.

"Ah good morning honey could you please wake up your brother for me?" Lily questioned her.

"Sure, which one Harry, Tobey, or Teddy?" She wondered.

"Harry. The other two boys are still way too young to be sleeping in so late." Lily replied as Sarah nodded and then she raced back down the hallway and opened the door and flipped the switch.

"Harry, Mum says you have to get up." Sarah told him as Harry groaned and shut his eyes even tighter.

"Then why didn't she come back here and get me up herself?" He wondered as Sarah just simply shrugged at him.

"I dunno, don't ask me. I'm just the messenger." She replied before she went back to the table for breakfast. Meanwhile, Harry rubbed his eyes and sat up and then grabbed his glasses off the nightstand and put him on his face before Patches opened his eyes as well and looked up at him wagging his short and stubby little tail. Harry smiled down at him and scratched him behind the ears before he reluctantly pulled the covers back and got up to use the bathroom.

After breakfast the Snape family met the Weasley family and they all went to Diagon Alley together. Ginny gave a hug to Harry and then to Sarah. "You're so lucky." Sarah began. "You get to go to Hogwarts this year." She finished as Ginny just simply grinned at her.

"Yeah, but don't worry. You'll get to go next year." She pointed out.

"Mummy can I get my wand now?" Ginny questioned her mother eagerly before her mother nodded in response.

"Yes, come on sweetheart." She replied before she started waving her towards Ollivanders while Harry and Ron looked at their school supply list but found to their utter and complete disappointment that there was nothing there but a bunch of books.

"Ah well, I guess the second year isn't as exciting as the first." Ron said while giving a shrug. "Next year we get to go to Hogsmeade at least though." He added while he started to secretly worry about his pet rat Scabbers. His mother had promised his little sister that she could either get an owl or a cat and the way things looked right now she had opted for the second choice.

In the end Ginny wound up with an eleven-inch yew wand with vela hair and a black kitten that she decided to name Cobalt. After they were finished doing their school shopping at Diagon Alley they all had returned home. Harry had thought that it was rather amusing that Ginny was drooling over a famous wizard that she had met in the bookstore by the name of Gilderoy Lockheart, but was extremely annoyed that one of the photographs there shot a picture of him with Gilderoy and that they would be making the morning's newspaper together. He had also met Draco Malfoy's father and immediately showed a dislike to him considering who his son was and they both seemed to share the same opinion about muggles and muggleborns.

Then once Harry finally made it back into his bedroom, he got the shock of his life. For there standing right in front of him was a house elf. "Harry Snape, such an honor it is." He told him and Harry widened his eyes, and he felt his jaw drop. Everybody else (except for Fluffy that was lying on his parents' bed and Hedwig that was fast asleep inside her cage) was still outside. That was until Lily had let Patches inside and he instantly tracked down Dobby's scent and then started barking up a storm once he saw him disturbing Hedwig inside her cage and waking her up.

"Patches no! Be quiet!" Harry cried while quickly scooping his dog up inside his arms as the elf climbed up on top of the bookshelf. "Sorry, he's really friendly once you get to know him he just isn't too comfortable around strangers." He explained when all of a sudden Patches settled down and became silent.

"It's alright Sir, Dobby understands. Dobby would be upset if a stranger was in his house as well Sir." He replied while slowly climbing back down onto the ground. "But Dobby had to come. Dobby has to protect him and warn him not to go back to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry this year. There is a plot Harry Snape, a plot to make the most terrible things happen." He explained.

"What terrible things? Who's plotting them?" Harry wondered before to his complete and utter horror Dobby started banging his head against Harry's dresser.

"Bad Dobby! Bad Dobby!" He exclaimed as Harry quickly sat Patches down on top of his bed and raced towards his bedroom door and shut it tightly. "Would you cut that out!? If Mum and Dad catch you in here I'll be grounded for the rest of the summer and possibly even longer!" He cried as Dobby silently nodded.

"I apologize Sir. Dobby knows that Harry Snape's parents will protect him." He replied before he suddenly disapparated and then Harry went off to celebrate the rest of his birthday deciding to keep Dobby's visit a secret from the rest of his family.

Before Harry had realized it the rest of the summer had gone and he was now getting ready for bed. He would be going to King's Cross Station tomorrow and be getting on platform nine and three quarters with the rest of his friends. He simply just shrugged off Dobby's warning, took off his glasses, and climbed into bed and went to sleep.

I apologize for this being posted a day later than expected btw.
