One-Shot Summary: Izuku Midoriya possesses a powerful regeneration quirk. With it, he plans to become a hero at UA along with Katsuki Bakugou. Unfortunately, his Quirk has greatly warped his sense of self-preservation, so a certain punk rock classmate has taken it upon herself to try to keep him out of harm's way.

- Izuku Midoriya: Jekyll And Hyde by Five Finger Death Punch, Indestructible by Disturbed, Headstrong by Trapt, and A Warrior's Call by Volbeat
- Kyouka Jirou: She's a Rebel by Green Day and Fallen Angel by Three Days Grace
- Katsuki Bakugou: Dividing By Zero by The Offspring, Incense and Iron by Powerwolf, and 40:1 by Sabaton

Izuku Midoriya opened his emerald eyes and looked disinterestedly at the person who called out to him. A petite girl with purple hair and dressed like she was on her way to a rock concert, and to disappoint conservative parents everywhere, walked up next to him. She was playing with one of the earphone plugs that her Quirk grew out of her earlobes.
"Hey, sorry for the hold up. So, first battle trial, huh? Man, I hate going first on assignments where the rest of the class watches. And I'm kinda nervous about fighting Bakugou. He looks like he packs a punch," Kyouka Jirou mentioned nervously.
"I'll take care of Boom Boy," Izuku told her as he handed her one of the earpieces they were given for today's assignment.
"Boom Boy?" she said, beginning to laugh before stopping abruptly, "Wait, you talk?"
Izuku nodded.
"Dude, I've never heard you say a word until now. What gives?"
Izuku shrugged. Kyouka looked like she was about to retort with something but stopped herself. She inserted her earpiece with slight exasperation.
"So what's the plan?" she asked.
"You'll handle Crystal and the bomb. Stairs are straight ahead. Take the long way around and cover your ears until you get to the third floor," Izuku said calmly.
"Crystal? You mean Hagakure? And you want me to cover my ears? Why?"
"Boom Boy is loud," Izuku answered.
Kyouka nodded at his answer.
"You're a good guy, you know? I knew Bakugou was trying to mess with me."
Izuku gave her another inquisitive look.
"He said you go crazy when a fights about to start or something. Can you believe it?"
"He's not wrong," he said as he wrapped a green bandana over his hair that doubled as a mask.
Before Kyouka could say anything else, the horn that announced the beginning of the battle trial sounded and Izuku almost seemed to transform in front of her. He had been tall before, one of the tallest boys in the class even, but he was always slouched and hunched over so he didn't seem that big. But as soon as the horn began, he stood perfectly straight, muscles tensing slightly, and with a wicked grin on his face. Kyouka was so surprised it took her a moment to realize Izuku had already entered the building and rushed in after him.
"Midoriya," she called after him, realizing an oversight in their plan, "How exactly are you going to get Bakugou down here?"
Izuku removed the earpiece they were given for the exercise and took a deep breath. Kyouka barely remembered to cover her ears in time.
"OH, KAAAAAA-CHAAAAAAN!" Izuku bellowed, "WHERE'S MY ANGRY POMERANIAN!?"
Kyouka's ears rung slightly despite he best efforts to cover them. She was about to angrily ask what he thought he was doing when she heard it:
BOOM!
BOOM! BOOM!
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The characteristic sound of the blonde bomber Katsuki Bakugou's explosions could be heard above them. And they were getting closer, fast.
"Hurry to the fifth floor," Izuku told her, replacing the earpiece and motioning for her to get moving, "Wait for Boom Boy to get here before going up."
"Are you insane!?" she hissed over the earpiece while taking the long way around to the staircase, "What kind of moron shouts their position to the enemy?"
"The kind that's trying to lure them out."
Kyouka didn't have time to ask what he meant as she heard a new roar echo around the floor.
"DIE!" Katsuki bellowed, followed by loud explosions.
Kyouka had reached the stairs but hesitated. She looked at the scorch marks Katsuki had left on the walls. Worry etched itself into her face as she debated going to help Izuku. A transmission came over her earpiece at that moment, almost as if in response to her inner turmoil.
"THERE HE IS!"
The transmission was followed by a powerful explosion.
"WHO'S A GOOD BOY?"
More explosions.
"WHO'S A GOOD BOY?"
Even more explosions.
"YOU ARE! YES, YOU ARE! YES, YOU ARE!"
And even more explosions.
"He'll be fine," Kyouka whispered to herself before running up the stairs.
The rest of class 1-A watched the mock battle unfold in the observation room along with their teacher, the blonde mountain of a man known as All Might. The screens showed two very different confrontations unfolding. On the fifth floor, Kyouka Jirou had located the bomb and was currently fighting the air itself (or the invisible girl Toru Hagakure, depending on how well informed you happened to be). On the first floor, Katsuki Bakugou unleashed consecutive detonations onto Izuku Midoriya, who could seemingly do nothing else other than grit his teeth and weather the explosive storm.
To the uninitiated, the battle on the fifth floor was eclipsed by the action-packed spectacle of the first floor; however, to the few observant or intuitive students in class 1-A, the battle between the invisible girl and the punk rock girl was far more interesting on a technical level. Although not particularly intimidating, the invisible girl posed a daunting challenge: how does one fight what they cannot see?
All Might, however, was intently observing the battle on the first floor. Originally, it was to ensure Katsuki did not use excessive force, considering the nature and power of his Quirk, but now he was fascinated by one Izuku Midoriya. To most, the battle on the first floor was a simple flashy brawl; to All Might, with just over four decades of experience as a hero, it was a carefully conducted orchestra of chaos perfectly contained to one room in the corner of the first floor.
It was obscured by the flashes and smoke produced by Katsuki but All Might could see Izuku's lightning fast hands either redirect Katsuki's blasts to the floor or punching through the fire and smoke to strike the explosive boy. It would be more accurate to say that Izuku was leading Katsuki by the nose rather than just trying to survive. And Izuku gave no indication of letting up anytime soon. At this moment, All Might's smile wasn't just the signature of the Symbol of Hope but a real smile out of genuine excitement for his students and the heroes he can already imagine they would become. It could also be the rather comedic and thought out taunting coming from the green haired boy.
But alas, all things must come to an end and that end approached when Kyouka tumbled backwards onto the floor. Her own capture tape flew from her pocket and rolled out to capture its owner. But at that moment, the earlobe plug girl grasped the invisible girl's hand's, now easily visible as they held the capture tape. The two continued to struggle until one of Kyouka's earlobe plugs extended, grabbing the longer end of the tape and managed to wrap it around the neck of the invisible girl.
"Young Hagakure, you have been successfully captured and are now considered incapacitated," All Might spoke into the microphone in front of him on a channel only Toru and Kyouka could hear.
Toru grumbled loudly about almost getting her while Kyouka crawled to the bomb. She winced whenever she moved her left leg as she slowly approached the objective.
"Young Jirou, don't over exert yourself if you are injured," All Might spoke quietly into the microphone so only the punk rock heroine could hear, "Although it is an admirable quality among heroes to work through the pain, this is only a simulation."
"I'm fine," Kyouka spoke through gritted teeth, "Just gotta touch the fucking bomb; no big deal. Plus ultra and all that good shit."
"Very well," replied All Might, electing to ignore her choice of words this time, before switching to Toru's channel, "Young Hagakure, you are incapacitated and are not allowed to move until the exercise ends. I understand the wish to assist an injured classmate but villains do not assist the heroes in the field, especially the incapacitated ones. As soon as the exercise is over, you can help her to her feet."
Toru's complaints were overshadowed by the gasps from the students behind him. Turning his attention to the fight on the first floor, he could see a rather large cloud of smoke in front of Katsuki. The wall before him had been completely demolished and All Might couldn't help but feel certain sense of worry in his gut.
"Young Bak-" All Might began to chastise the blonde bomber before a figure rushed out of the smoke and knocked Katsuki down with a right hook.
"It's fine," laughed Izuku, maniacal smile plastered on his face, "The pup's bark is worse than his bite! Barely even left a scratch!"
The large and angry burn on the green haired teen's chest clearly indicated that it was the understatement of the semester. Before All Might could stop the fight, the burn seemed to vanish before his very eyes. Many of the students murmured about what they saw on the screen, including an overenthusiastic comment about manliness.
"Very well," All Might relented, glancing to see Kyouka seconds away from touching the bomb, "Young Bakugou, even if Young Midoriya can take the hit, I will be docking you points for use of excessive force and I will disqualify you next time it happens, understood?"
"Whatever," Katsuki snarled as he resumed his onslaught, though more subdued compared to before.
All Might almost counted the moments as Kyouka reached out to touch the bomb, silently urging her to move faster. He almost called out the winners before she actually laid her hand on the objective. The horns and his voice indicated the end of the exercise, with Izuku and Kyouka as the victors.
Katsuki stood dazed for a moment from their teacher's announcement before unleashing a torrent of colorful expletives at Izuku, which All Might also chose to ignore this time. Izuku, however, ignored the blonde boy and rushed out of the room and up to the fifth floor. He arrived just as Toru had finished donning her hero costume again, which was just her gloves and shoes, and was helping Kyouka stand. He gave the injured girl a quick once-over before picking her up in a bridal carry and marched out of the room, ignoring her embarrassment and protests, with Toru right behind them.
The door to the observation room opened and the four participants entered to the applause of their classmates. Toru entered first, followed by Kyouka and Izuku, the boy still carrying the girl despite her very vocal displeasure, and finally Katsuki at the end. The evidence of the girl's final tussle was evident in the dirt they now had all over their hero costumes. The boys, however, were in much greater disarray.
Izuku's hero costume was completely destroyed. The black tank top he was wearing was held together by only a few threads, his green cargo shorts were burnt and singed in several places, and his hand wraps were in tatters. He was covered in dirt, soot, and grime but was otherwise unhurt, though he was back in his low energy personality.
Katsuki was another matter entirely. There were bruises all along Katsuki's arms, his face was swelling, and his left eye was beginning to turn purple. He was also positively fuming. His hero suit was almost pristine, though, if that counted for anything.
"Well done, everyone," All Might told them with a smile, "Young Midoriya, take Young Jirou to the infirmary-"
"UGH! For the last time, I'm fine!" Kyouka interrupted irritably and blushing slightly, "So put me down already, Broccoli Boy!"
Izuku rolled his eyes and ignored her demand. Kyouka pouted in his arms but otherwise made no attempt to amend her situation. All Might cleared his throat to regain the class' attention.
"Well then, can anyone guess as to who the VIP of this battle trial is?" he asked, "Yes, Young Yaoyorozu."
"Jirou and Hagakure would both be excellent candidates. They both showed exemplary decision making and quick thinking, both in defending and capturing the bomb. If it wasn't for Jirou's acute hearing from her Quirk, Hagakure could have won," Momo Yaoyorozu, a black haired beauty with sharp eyes, explained, "Meanwhile, Bakugou and Midoriya devolved into a simple brawl-"
"WRONG! That's not what happened!" interrupted Katsuki before pointing a trembling finger at Izuku and pushing his words through clenched teeth, "You played us. You played all of us like fu- like fiddles!"
Izuku shrugged silently. Katsuki seemed to become even more infuriated by this, if that was possible, and pressed his forehead against the wall while clenching his teeth.
"Young Midoriya, would you be so kind as to explain?" All Might said, a knowing smile on his face and a glint in his eyes.
"I cheated," Izuku said sleepily.
The class was surprised to actually hear the green haired boy speak for the first time since they had known him. Tenya Iida, a tall, blue haired student, however, latched onto what he said rather than the revelation of his voice.
"What do you mean, 'cheated?'" Iida asked, already getting ready to reprimand the green haired boy.
"I know Katsuki better than anyone and capitalized on that knowledge."
"Heroes should use any and all information they obtain when performing their duties," Momo commented, "And Bakugou should have had the same amount of information on you, so it was not an unfair advantage. But what was your plan, exactly?"
"It was actually fairly simple-" Kyouka began when Katsuki interrupted her.
"LIES! Izuku doesn't do simple!" Katsuki hissed before glaring at Izuku again, "You lured me to the first floor. Why? And don't skimp on the details."
Izuku gave the rest of the class a quick glance before eying Katsuki tiredly. He sighed and then began his explanation.
"Based on what I knew about you, Hagakure, and Jirou, the optimal path to victory had three requirements. First, Jirou had to face Hagakure. Second, Jirou had to stay as far away from you as possible. Third, we had to capture the bomb."
"The first requirement was the most straightforward," Izuku continued, "You have an incredibly powerful quirk that is also loud and flashy. If you and Jirou fought, the booms from your explosions would have been enough to incapacitate her because of her enhanced hearing. I was also fairly certain that if I faced Hagakure, I would lose because of the capture tape rule. Since she is invisible and wouldn't need to actually fight the opponent to incapacitate them, I would be at a serious disadvantage-"
"You make it sound like I could only beat you because I didn't have to actually fight you," Toru interrupted playfully.
Izuku turned to look at the invisible girl. Although not visible to anyone else, Toru blushed slightly as she realized that he somehow seemed to know where her eyes were and stared into them. The emerald gems that bore into her very soul held a strange emotion Toru couldn't quite place.
"Hagakure, if this had been a cage fight between us two, you'd be in the hospital," Izuku informed her bluntly.
The class collectively flinched at his words, except for Kyouka, who just frowned while still in his arms. Toru suddenly realized that it was a disturbing gentleness that she saw in his eyes. His eyes simultaneously told her that she would die if they fought for real and yet he would never hurt her. Like he was born with knives for hands but just wanted to cook delicious meals all day, every day. She involuntarily shivered, thankful once again that she was invisible.
"Anyways," Izuku looked away from Toru and at Katsuki again, "I knew I had to fight you while Jirou dealt with Hagakure. The third requirement came from the fact that you're strong enough that we wouldn't be able to defeat you in the time given even if Jirou and I faced you at the same time. We were never going to win via elimination, so we had to capture the bomb."
"The second requirement was a little more complex. I was pretty sure Jirou would be able to overcome Hagakure's invisibility with her enhanced hearing. The issue is that you're really loud and so is your Quirk. I figured if you got closer than five meters, her hearing would be shot and her chances of defeating Hagakure would lower dramatically. After I had the requirements sorted, I just had to come up with a plan that put it all together."
"The problem was that you're not a complete idiot. I knew that you would insist on having the bomb on the fifth floor, because of course you would, and would want to roam the building looking for a fight but would ultimately conclude Hagakure was more suited to roam while you defend the bomb. It would have been the optimal strategy for you and the hardest for us to outmaneuver, so I had to force you to roam while Hagakure stayed to defend. I also knew that you get angry easily and that you have extremely narrow tunnel vision when angry. So a loud challenge with a slight insult would bring you barreling to me while completely ignoring Jirou, and thus fulfilling the second requirement."
"Once you found me, I just had to keep you busy. I knew I couldn't beat you and you couldn't beat me but I also knew you were going to try no matter what. And since you were going to be busy with me on the first floor and Hagakure would most likely be protecting the bomb on the fifth floor, the first requirement would be met. And I was 90% confident Jirou would win in a one-on-one fight with Hagakure, so Jirou would be able to fulfill the third requirement."
"Wow, 90%? I'm not sure if I should be flattered or insulted," Kyouka teased with a smirk.
"It was an honest assessment using the facts I knew about the both of you," Izuku shrugged, "Based on your performance in the physical exams on the first day, I knew the both of you were above average compared to a normal human, though Hagakure scored higher than you by a fair amount in most categories. However, the results told me that Hagakure's Quirk didn't give her any augmentations to her physical capabilities. I also guessed she probably didn't have any formal training in fighting. If she did, it would have revolved around using her invisibility to make her unpredictable and would have little experience against someone who could locate her. And I'm pretty sure you've been to some rough mosh pits before, so I knew you could take a hit or two. If we kept your hearing intact, you would nullify Hagakure's advantage and exploit her inexperience. Or you could use your extendable jacks to sneakily tie the capture tape around Hagakure. We would've won nine out of ten times."
The rest of the class was speechless. Even All Might's mouth hung open a little. None of them were expecting the level of detail they were just given or for Izuku to speak so much. Only Katuski seemed unimpressed, though he turned to face the wall to try hiding a smug grin.
"Wait, hold on, did you plan this all out while I went to drink water?" asked Kyouka, incredulously.
"I figured it out the moment I saw the teams. I was actually glad to see we got paired up," Izuku admitted.
"You were?" Kyouka questioned.
"Your combat potential isn't impressive but your utility in amazing. Whether we were defending or assaulting the base, you were going to be incredibly useful. I think only Yaoyorozu would have been able to keep up. And I'm pure combat potential with no utility, so we make a pretty well rounded team. Honestly, the only teams I was worried about were the ones with Todoroki or Tokoyami," Izuku answered.
"Oh, well, you know, any time," Kyouka said, somewhat embarrassed, her ear lobe plugs tapping together.
"Any other questions or can I take my teammate to Recovery Girl?" Izuku asked the rest of the class.
"Er, no, that will be all," All Might said, snapping out of his shock, "You should go as well, Young Bakugou."
Izuku left the room before Kyouka could insist she was fine again, Katsuki grumbling behind them.
"I told you I was fine," Kyouka complained as they left the infirmary.
"You sprained your ankle," Izuku replied in a bored tone.
"But it healed in seconds!"
"Recovery Girl's Quirk healed it in seconds," he corrected.
Kyouka threw her hands up in exasperation. The two continued down the hall for some time until Kyouka stopped, leaning back against the wall. Izuku gave her an inquisitive look.
"Bakugou did a real number on you, huh?" she asked.
Izuku shrugged, popping yet another one of Recovery Girls stamina gummies into his mouth.
"Dude, you downed a dozen gummies at once. And I can hear everything, remember?" she reminded him, pointing at her earlobe plugs, "I heard him break the wall. Please tell me he missed?"
"It was just a scratch," he answered.
"Don't give me that shit!" she chastised, "I'm pretty sure you could fall through a meat grinder and you'd say 'It was just a scratch.' Bakugou probably used lethal force since he knew you'd walk it off."
"It was an accident," he said, stifling a yawn.
"Yeah right," she grumbled, "I guess it's a good thing you can't feel pain, huh?"
Izuku gave her a confused look.
"You don't feel pain, right?" she asked warily, getting paler by the second, "Right?"
Izuku didn't answer but refused to meet her gaze. Kyouka slowly slid down the wall and ran her fingers through her hair.
"H-hey," she continued in a quivering voice, "S-so back then, at the, uh, the entrance e-exam, you, uh, you felt a-all of that?"
Izuku gave her a tiny nod while Kyouka just stared at him in horror.
"It's fi-"
"NO! IT IS NOT FINE!" she interrupted in a slight panic, "You got crushed like a tin can by the zero-pointer while saving me! I still have nightmares about what happened and I only heard it! Dude, are you okay?"
Izuku nodded.
"ARE YOU? Because it is not right how you just waltz into shit that would kill most us like it's nothing! Dude, you literally got crushed by a giant robot, put yourself back together, stood up like it was nothing, and then started fighting it! And now you're telling me you felt all of that? All of it? Every crushed bone, every ruptured organ, every torn muscle? What the fuck, dude?"
"You were in danger and I could save you," he shrugged, "My safety was irrelevant."
Kyouka shot to her feet, earlobes pointed menacingly at his chest.
"YOUR! SAFETY! IS! NOT! IRRELEVANT!" she hissed, her plugs jabbing him in the chest with every word, "And I better not hear you say that shit again!"
With her final point made, Kyouka angrily stormed off, leaving a perplexed Izuku behind.
"You're starting to sound like Ka-chan," he sighed to himself.
Kyouka Jirou leaned against the main gates, just outside the entrance of U.A. High School. She was looking at her phone with little interest, one of her ear lobes plugged into her phone, head bobbing to a beat only she could hear. The other plug was extended just past the gate, occasionally twitching.
"This is FUCKING BULLSHIT!" Katsuki Bakugou shouted loudly, causing Kyouka to wince and retract her earlobes.
"Language," Izuku said tiredly, "And volume."
"Can't believe Aizawa Sensei gave me detention," Katsuki growled in a more controlled volume.
"You did use excessive force. If it had been anyone other than me, they'd still be in surgery."
Katsuki continued to grumble to himself but didn't deny the accusation.
"Oi, Bakugou," Kyouka called solemnly when they passed through the gate.
Katsuki was about to yell at her when Izuku placed his hand over the blonde grenade's mouth and gave him a stern look. After an exasperated exhale, he moved Izuku's hand away.
"What do you want, Earlobes?" Katsuki asked a hundred decibels lower than he normally speaks at.
"Earlobes? Real original," Kyouka scoffed, rolling her eyes, "I want to talk."
"I got nothing to talk about with an extra like you," he growled.
"Oh yeah? Not even about what happened today during the battle training?" she snapped, "The girls told me you put Izuku through half a meter of reinforced concrete. That had to have hurt, didn't it?"
"Oh, for fuck's sake! Look, I already apologized to Izuku, got a beating from Recovery Girl, a lecture from the Teddy Bear, and detention all this week from our bum of a homeroom teacher. If you want to chew me out too, I can pencil you in for some time next century. I still have to go home and deal with Ma and Pops!"
"Oh, an apology? And suddenly that makes everything better? What are you, five?"
"Five and a half, actually. Why the fuck do you care so much?"
"Why wouldn't I care? He's my teammate and my fellow classmate! And he's someone we actually enjoy being around, unlike you!"
"Excuse you, I'll have you know I am a sweet treat! I'm a fucking delight to be around! And why the fuck am I arguing with you? C'mon Izuku, we're going to be late."
"And where do you think you're dragging him off to?"
"That's none of your fucking business!"
"Work," Izuku stated simply, finally interrupting the two's argument.
"Work? What do you mean 'work?'" she asked, suspicion interlaced in her voice.
"We mean work," Katsuki answered angrily, walking away with Izuku behind him.
"What kind of work?" Kyouka asked, following.
"Ramen," answered Izuku.
"Ramen?" she repeated, unconvinced.
"Yes, ramen," Katsuki explained, "A lazy old fart lends us his ramen stall a couple times a week. Izuku is a bottomless pit when it comes to food, so he insists on helping us with groceries."
"Wait, why is Izuku helping you with groceries?"
"Because he lives with us."
"He lives with you? Like, under the same roof?"
"Technically he lives in the attic but yeah," Katsuki explained, massaging his forehead, "Happy? Can we go to work in peace?"
"You guys keep him in your attic?" she inquired, concerned.
"Holy shit, okay, look," Katsuki stopped, facing her, "Izuku is family. He's been my brother for seven years now. When I say he sleeps in the attic, I mean we didn't have a spare room in our house, so we remodeled the attic into an extra room. He's got a bed, a desk, air conditioning, the works. Now, back to my earlier question: why do you care so fucking much?"
"Because I already saw him fucking die-" Kyouka had begun but was quickly interrupted by Izuku covering her mouth with his hand.
Katsuki looked at the two for a moment before his regular scowl deepened with concern.
"Izuku, you did something fucking stupid again, didn't you?" Katsuki asked, his eyes daring Izuku to lie to him.
"N-no," Izuku lied very unconvincingly, face incredibly pale.
"..crushed by...zero-pointer," Kyouka was able to force out from behind Izuku's hand.
"N-no I wasn't."
Katsuki stared Izuku down for several moments, eyes narrowing as the tall green haired boy began to sweat nervously. Finally, Katsuki reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone. Izuku immediately released Kyouka and lunged at Katsuki. The two wrestled each other for control of the phone.
"MA!" Katsuki yelled into his phone while on his back and using both legs to keep Izuku at bay, "Meet us at the stand!"
Izuku fell backwards onto his rear in defeat, hands in his hair. Katsuki stood up in victory, a smirk on his face.
"I take it back, Earlobes," Katsuki said, walking away once more, "We have a lot to talk about. How about you join us for a bowl of ramen? It'll be our treat."
"I'm in a lot of trouble, aren't I?" Izuku mumbled to himself, watching the two walk ahead.
Class 1-A's trip to the Unforseen Simulation Joint had started out rather uneventful: the class representatives Momo Yaoyorozu and Tenya Iida organized everyone onto the bus, the students socialized, Izuku sulked in the back of the bus with an impenetrable aura of depression, misery, and just pure lethargy.
Katsuki insisted that this was indeed normal for Izuku after getting scolded by their mother and being grounded. Some had tried to make a sort of game out of trying to cheer him up, one that quickly ended when Aizawa Sensei threatened to expel a short boy with purple spheres for hair after he suggested one of the girls give him a lap dance. Indeed, nothing unplanned had occurred until the lights in the USJ started failing and a black swirling mist appeared in the central plaza. It only got more off track when dozens of individuals came out of the mist.
"Everyone, stay back!" Aizawa commanded, placing his goggles over his eyes, "This is not part of the exercise. These are villains and extremely dangerous. Kaminari, try to contact the school! Thirteen, protect the kids!"
The class froze up in fear at his words. They weren't even a week into their first year of the hero program, how could they possibly face villains so soon!? Though there were four among them who refused to remain idle. Katsuki Bakugou rubbed his palms together, working up a sweat for the upcoming fight. Shoto Todoroki, a boy with white and red hair, entered his preferred fighting stance, frost forming on the right side of his body. Izuku Midoriya broke out of his funk, maniacal smile on his face as he wrapped his bandana on his head. And Kyouka Jirou... clamped her hand around Izuku's wrist. He looked at her hand on his wrist, and then at her, with a confounded expression.
"You're not going," she told him, trying to sound commanding but the quiver in her voice ruining the effect.
"Uh, the hell I'm not," he said, motioning at the still emerging villains with his other hand, "They brought us punching bags! It'd be rude not to work them for twelve rounds, minimum."
"Stay with Thirteen, Midoriya," Aizawa commanded, readying his capture scarf weapon, "Don't engage any of them unless absolutely necessary, understood?"
"Stay close to me and remain calm," Thirteen called as their home room teacher jumped down the steps and towards the villains.
Izuku reluctantly allowed Kyouka to drag him away from the fight that was about to begin in the central plaza. As they all ran to the entrance of the USJ, the black mist suddenly erupted before them. It slowly took a humanoid form with glowing yellow eyes and spoke to them.
"Greetings! We are the League of Villains. We were under the impression that All Might would be one of the instructors for today's exercise. Would you be so kind as to inform me where he is?"
"All Might? What do you want with All Might?" Thirteen asked, preparing to defend her students.
"We want to change the world. And to do that, the pillars of the old world must crumble. In other words: All Might must die!"
"Like that will ever happen, ya fart!" yelled Katsuki as he and Eijiro Kirishima, a boy with spiky red hair who could harden his skin, ran in front of Thirteen and at the purple mist user.
"Wait you two!" Thirteen called to no avail.
Katsuki unleashed a powerful explosion aimed at the villains face while Eijiro stayed low to the ground for a leg sweep. The black mist user swayed and swirled around the attacks with ease.
"Ah foolish children," the villain said, bemused by their antics, "Worry not, we have plans to entertain you all!"
The black mist suddenly burst outwards enveloping the class. Kyouka felt herself be enveloped into a protective hug along with someone else but the rushing black mist made it impossible to tell who it was. And then they were falling. She didn't even have the chance to yelp before they hit the ground. Thankfully her fall was broken by something soft and warm…
"J-Jirou!?" Momo Yaoyorozu, their raven haired class president, squeaked.
"Sorry!" Kyouka apologized immediately, blushing furiously as she scrambled to get off of her well developed classmate.
"It's fine. Are you alr-AGH!" Momo suddenly yelped as the green haired giant she had landed on gently pushed her off and sat up.
"M-Midoriya! I apologize, I didn't realize I had landed on you! Are you fine?" she asked him.
"Absolutely wonderful," he growled in a low voice that implied he was anything but.
They had been deposited in a barren, rocky location. It was fairly flat in front of them, with various boulders and rock outcroppings here and there. Looking further beyond, past the mob of villains, they could see the entrance to the USJ and the a few of the other zones. It was quite the vie- Wait, mob of villains?
"Sorry, kiddos, but we've been told you all have to die," one of the villains called as they all slowly advanced and spread out, "If it makes you feel better, we are going to enjoy this!"
"Shit, what do we do now?" Kyouka whispered as she unconsciously stepped away from the approaching mob.
"Beat the living daylights out of them," Izuku answered like it was the most obvious thing in the universe, "Miss President, I'm going to need a pair of knuckledusters."
"I'll make you something better-"
"No," he interrupted, "Yaoyorozu, you have to understand that you are our walking hospital until help arrives. Keep it simple and only use your Quirk to make what is absolutely necessary."
"But-"
"Yaoyorozu, are you going to be able to live with yourself if you can't make life-saving medical equipment five minutes from now because you wanted to show off?"
"I- No, you're right," she relented, handing him the newly created fist weapons, "What's the plan?"
"Arm yourselves and stay together," he told them, slipping on his weapons, "Jirou, if you can provide ranged support, do it. Otherwise, play defense with Yaoyorozu. As soon as you see an opening, run to the entrance and get help."
"Wait, what are you going to do?" Jirou asked as she received a short sword from Momo.
"Exactly what I said," he said, flashing her a maniacal smile, "Beat the living daylights out of them."
Before Kyouka could say anything else, Izuku charged at the approaching villains.
"HA! Kid's suicidal!" a villain wielding a bat shouted as he ran to meet him, "I'll grant your wish, brat!"
The villain jumped forward, bringing the bat down in a large and heavy overhead swing... before being quickly knocked out by one of Izuku's lightning fast punches. The sickening crack was loud enough to be heard from where the two girls were standing. Izuku did not waste time and threw himself at the nearest group of villains. Momo would later claim that this was when she first thought something was strange about her green haired classmate, though Kyouka would adamantly state that she always knew something was wrong.
It wasn't the fact that, when faced with overwhelming numbers of unknown strength, his first tactic was a frontal assault while being basically naked, considering all the protection his tank top and cargo shorts gave him; there were others in class 1-A who would do the same, Eijiro Kirishima and Katsuki Bakugou being prime examples. It wasn't the clearly practiced precision with which he weaved and fought amid the throng of bodies; there were others in class 1-A who had trained countless hours to fight against multiple opponents, Momo Yaoyorozu, Mashirao Ojiro, and Shoto Todoroki being prime examples. It also wasn't the ferocity and savage glee with which he tore through the group of villains, breaking jaws, arms, and kneecaps; there were others in class 1-A who would do the same, Katsuki Bakugou being a prime example, though he would more often leave burns than broken limbs.
No, what was disturbing was the complete lack of worry with which Izuku practically jumped into the center of a group of people that fully intended to kill him. He punched, kicked, kneed, elbowed, and threw the villains with the confident grace of a battle hardened samurai on yet another battlefield. And that would be how Momo would describe Izuku when questioned about the incident: Izuku was a fifteen year old boy commanded by the spirits of Musashi Miyamoto and Nobunaga Oda, the fearsome wariors of old.
Now, this is not to say that the girls had nothing to do. A few villains charged at them, thinking the boy to be a corpse that didn't know it was already dead. Momo skillfully used her created staff to defeat each villain that approached her while Kyouka used a sword provided by the class president to defend herself and the speakers in her boots to incapacitate the incoming villains. However, as Izuku took down one villain after another, they decided that the girls were easier targets and went after them instead. Despite the unintentional shift in the flow of battle, the villains were finally dealt with before long.
"Absolute trash," Izuku sighed as he cleaned his weapons using the shirt of one of the defeated villains, "I have no idea how they thought they were going to kill All Might when they don't even know how to fight."
"Midoriya! Are you injured?" Momo called as she and Kyouka made their way to him.
Before he could respond, the ground before Kyouka's feet erupted. When the dust had cleared, a large man with a skull-shaped mask held Kyouka by the neck.
"Nobody move or I pump enough voltage through the girl's head to cook her brain inside her skull!" he threatened as electricity danced between the fingers of his free hand.
"Jirou!" cried Momo, tightening the grip on her staff.
"Easy, Prez. He won't do it," Izuku reassured her.
"You fucking think I won't do it, y-"
"Oh, I know you won't do it," Izuku interrupted him, a dangerous glint in his eyes, "Because if you do, there's no power under heaven that will prevent me from ripping your arms off and beating you to death with them."
The two stared each other down for a few moments. Izuku muttered something under his breath, too low for anyone to hear. Well, anyone who didn't have earplugs growing from her earlobes.
"Y-You're bluffing," the masked man said nervously, "You're a hero course student, you wouldn't kill anyone."
"Fuck around and find out."
The villain said nothing. Izuku took a step forward and the villain took a step back.
"S-Stay right where you are!"
"Nah, I think we're going to have a little chat instead," Izuku said, taking another step, "So, here's exactly what's going to happen. I don't really want to- SQUIRREL!"
Izuku suddenly looked away from the villain to the side of the mountain. The villain followed his gaze for a moment before realizing his mistake. Kyouka's earlobe plugs jabbed into his wrist, sending powerful vibrations into his very bones, forcing him to let her go. Before he could do anything else, Izuku was upon him, driving his fist into the mask, leaving a large dent in it and knocking the villain out.
"You alright?" Izuku asked Kyouka, helping her to her feet.
"Yeah, I'm fine," she said, "And 'Squirrel?' Really? That's what you went with?"
"Listen, it has literally never failed before. I don't know why it works but it works, every time, all the time."
And with that final explanation, the three quickly made their way down the artificial mountain.
To say Shouta Aizawa was having a bad day would be quite the understatement. First, his cats woke him up an entire hour before he was supposed to get ready for work. Then, the convenience store on his route to work was out of his preferred brand of juice packs. And then, the most irrational problem student in his teaching career seemed to be trying to dethrone him as the "least energetic entity at UA High School." And all this before first period had even started.
The day had only gotten worse when they arrived at the USJ. All Might had foolishly used up all the time he had in his hero form and would be unable to participate in the exercise. And then, a bunch of villains showed up to threaten his students. And now, his right arm has been rendered useless by the hand villain's disintegration Quirk while there were still a dozen or so villains to take down. Today would easily make it into the top twenty of Aizawa's "Shittiest Fucking Days" list, maybe even the top ten. And it wasn't even two o'clock yet.
"Noumu, break him."
And apparently it was only going to get worse. Shouta activated his Erasure Quirk on the very large, black skinned villain with the bird beak mouth but it disappeared from his vision regardless. Before he could locate it, he felt hands on his working arm, snapping it with little effort. He turned his head just in time to see a black hand reach out to grab his face. He tried to jump away but he knew it was too late; the villain was too fast for him to escape in his current state. And that would have been the end of it if a green haired missile hadn't decided that he hadn't been living up to his title of "problem child" and tackled his attacker to the ground.
"Midoriya! Run!" he yelled at him through the pain that was threatening to drag him into the darkness.
Before he could respond, Noumu punched Izuku with enough force to launch him into and break through the fountain in the center of the plaza.
"Oh my, did we kill one of your precious students? Well, you'll be joining him soon enough, Eraser. Noumu, finish him," the hand villain commanded.
The large villain suddenly loomed over Shouta, bringing down both their arms to obliterate him. The impact created a large cloud of dust and dirt. To most observers, Shouta Aizawa had been turned into mush by Noumu's strike. However…
"God damn, you hit like a fucking truck," Izuku exclaimed from the bottom of the stairs that lead out of the USJ, holding Shouta under his arm, "But you gotta do better than that to put me down, big boy!"
"Midoriya, I told you to run," Shouta groaned as Izuku set him on his feet.
"Sensei, we took out the villain blocking the comms. Contact the school and get everyone out of here; I'll make sure these guys don't follow you," Izuku told him with a maniacal grin.
"No, you get out with everyone else, I'll hold them here."
"Both your arms are fucked up and useless! Now who's being irrational?"
Before Shouta could say anything else, the Noumu and Izuku suddenly disappeared. They reappeared near the center of the plaza, where Izuku had managed to intercept Noumu's charge and tackled him to the ground once more. Noumu tried to punch Izuku off of them, just like before, but Izuku had thrown his own punch at the same time, the two attacks meeting at an awkward angle. Instead of being completely blown away like before, Izuku was only partly lifted off of Noumu. Taking advantage of his new position, he brought down his foot with the intention of stomping on the bird-beaked villain's face. His foot did not meet Noumu's face but rather his other hand, which they then used to throw him to the side. Izuku quickly rolled to his feet, laughing.
"Finally, someone that can take a hit," Izuku called, "Don't break too fast on me, you hear?"
"You break Noumu?" the hand villain scoffed, "It was created to defeat All Might. What could you possibly do to it? Noumu, break him."
Noumu charged at Izuku faster than the eye could see. They threw punches with enough force to create blasts of wind but Izuku managed to evade the strike by mere centimeters. Weathering the powerful winds, Izuku grabbed Noumu's extended arm and struck their elbow, snapping their arm. But before he could do anything else, Noumu struck out with his other fist, connecting with the side of Izuku's head with a sickening crunch and launching him into the fountain once more.
"You put up more of a fight than I thought you would. I guess you were more of a mini boss than just another ad," the hand villain commented as Noumu's broken arm snapped back into place, as if it was never broken in the first place, "Well, in the end, your sacrifice was in vain."
The hand villain was about to give Noumu another order when Izuku's body stood from the fountain, his head twisted around and looking backwards. Reaching up with one arm, he turned his head forward with a stomach churning snap. His gaze immediately fell on Noumu and their healed arm.
"Son of a bitch," Izuku grumbled, "You got regen as well, huh?"
"Tch, the brats got passives, too," the hand villain complained, "Noumu, rip him to shreds, quickly."
Noumu charged at Izuku once again. This time, Izuku let it come to him and threw a powerful elbow strike to counter Noumu. But when his elbow connected with the black torso of Noumu, nothing happened. Judging by the speed they moved at and their mass, Izuku had hoped to break a few of their ribs and bruise some internal organs, the kind of injuries that really drain regeneration Quirks the fastest. His confusion was short lived as Noumu gripped his shoulder with one hand and ripped out Izuku's entire arm with the other.
"Heh, seems you discovered one of Noumu's other Quirks: Shock Absorption. You're going to have to rip him apart to kill him, though his regen would make that impossible. But it's over now. Doesn't matter how strong your healing Quirk is, you won't be able to heal fast enough to keep Noumu from killing you," the hand villain said giddily.
Suddenly, there was a wet snap and Noumu began to scream before releasing Izuku. The arm that was still attached to Izuku was now covered in blood and held what appeared to be one of Noumu's rib. He roared as he stepped forward and gouged out Noumu's eye, spraying blood all over himself and causing Noumu to scream in pain once more. Taking advantage of the temporary reprieve, Izuku threw the rib weapon at the hand villain. Noumu dashed ahead of the projectile and knocked it out of the air before it could reach the villain in charge, its damaged eye and the hole in its chest healing as if it was never damaged.
"Super speed, super strength, regen, and Shock Absorption? Now that's just cheating!"
"Cheating? No, it's just my über unit. It's the perfect counter to All Might! You can put up as much of a futile fight as you want-"
"Oh, Mr. Handy," Izuku interrupted with a laugh, "I have not yet begun to fight."
The hand villain was about to scoff at the child's prideful remark when he noticed black tendrils reach out from the severed arm. They latched onto Izuku's torn flesh and pulled the arm back into place. It seemingly glued itself back on, as if it had never been torn off in the first place. Izuku gave his fingers an experimental wiggle before clenching them into a fist, a maniacal grin on his face.
"Round two?" Izuku asked, entering a wide stance, his fingers bent like claws.
"Noumu," the hand villain growled with great irritation, aggressively scratching at his neck with both hands, "Turn that brat into paste!"
Noumu roared as it mindlessly charged at Izuku once more. Izuku floated like a butterfly in a typhoon and stung like a Japanese Giant Hornet. Noumu's punches missed him by millimeters, leaving craters in the paved ground as if they were missiles, while he ripped chunks of Noumu's flesh with every strike. Noumu quickly regenerated, of course, but Izuku's attacks were taking their toll; the time before the regeneration kicked in was increasing, the rate at which the wounds closed was slowing, and Noumu was becoming sluggish. But he wasn't the only one.
Izuku had begun to put space between himself and Noumu more often than before. The amount of time he spent attacking decreased and the time he spent dodging increased. But the most obvious change was his body. When he had arrived at the USJ, his physique could give Hercules a run for his money. Now, it was as if the steroids had magically ran out; he still had muscles but they had become incredibly lean. Gone was the hulking mountain of muscle, replaced instead with the athletic build of a fifteen year old.
"Kurogiri," the hand villain growled to the purple mist villain that had appeared behind him while the two were fighting, "How can this be? Noumu, our secret weapon against All Might, the one created by Sensei himself, can't even kill a single brat."
"Calm yourself, Tomura Shigaraki," Kurogiri said as Tomura scratched at his neck aggressively enough to draw blood, "We must retreat and regroup. We will find another time to pit the Noumu against All-"
"No, this is the end for it," Tomura spat, "I have no need for failures in my party. Damn it, damn it! Why did I have to get such shitty RNG today? It was bad enough that the Final Boss didn't spawn but now some no name mob is locking down my über unit! What sort of shitty game is this!?"
"Tomura…"
"Enough. We're leaving, Kurogiri. This raid was a total bust," Tomura grumbled angrily before locking his gaze onto Izuku, "But we'll leave All Might a message he'll never forget."
Izuku had managed to finally knock Noumu down when he noticed a new challenger approaching at lightning speed. Seeing what he had done to Aizawa Sensei, Izuku had no intention of letting Tomura get into optimal range to use his Quirk. Noumu, however, continued to surprise him, grabbing onto and crushed his leg to prevent him from moving. Tomura was upon him before he could so much as think anything else, hand reaching out for his face.
Izuku's hand whipped out to catch Tomura's wrist but a swirl of purple mist interceded. And then Tomura's hand was on his face. And then the burning started. And then he started screaming in agony.
Tomura smiled with sadistic glee at the lowly NPC who dared tried to stand up to him and was now screaming in agony. But that glee gave way to confusion as the the green haired mob continued to scream instead of turning to ash. And this was why he didn't react in time to prevent Izuku from crushing his wrist. Tomura yelled in pain, clutching his hand while Noumu flung Izuku into the stairs and away from it's master.
"Kurogori, we're leaving!" Tomura commanded, "Noumu, kill everyone!"
Tomura disappeared in a black swirling mist while Noumu lumbered forward towards the stairs.
Katsuki Bakugou rushed out of the Ruins Zone of the USJ with Eijiro Kirishima struggling to keep up. Behind them were a number of villains strewn about, groaning in pain and occasionally smoldering slightly but alive. They had been sent to deal with them, which was more than enough reason for Katsuki to make sure they enjoyed an extended stay at the nearest hospital. He was even gracious enough to make sure they wouldn't sustain lasting damage.
The only threatening thing about the group of villains had been their numbers, so Katsuki and Eijiro had dealt with them with relative ease. Unfortunately this meant Katsuki didn't get to vent his frustration or relieve his anxiety. In other words, he was in an utterly foul mood, even by Katsuki Bakugou standards. The pure and wild rage emanating from the blonde boy made Eijiro equal parts nervous and glad they were on the same side.
"S-so, where to now, Baku-Bro?" Eijiro asked, trying to break the silence.
Katsuki was about to respond with his usual snark when he stopped suddenly. They had reached the central plaza. There were dozens of villains strewn about the ground and the fountain had been destroyed. But none of that was what stopped him in his tracks. No, what had stopped him in his tracks was the huge villain with black skin and an exposed brain, completely soaked in blood. More specifically, it was the tufts of green hair that poked out from between the fingers of their massive hand.
Katsuki was in motion before he had fully processed what he was seeing. Contrary to popular belief, Katsuki always had a plan whenever he rushed face first into danger. He wasn't an idiot, after all. But this time, there was no plan; there was only a goal, a promise: Whoever had so much as touched Izuku was going to die!
Using smaller explosions to propel himself faster, Katsuki leapt into the air and spun his body before unleashing a powerful explosion.
"Howitzer Impact!"
Eijiro watched in awe as a giant cloud of dust and smoke obscured most of the central plaza. A few moments later, Katsuki emerged from the smoke carrying a green haired skeleton of a man.
"You still with me, Izuku?" Katsuki asked, gently laying the skeleton on the ground.
"Wait, is that Midoriya?" Eijiro asked incredulously while the skeleton nodded at both their questions.
"How bad is it?" Katsuki asked through clenched teeth.
"Bad," Izuku wheezed, "If we live, we're going to an all-you-can-eat buffet after this."
"Yeah, we'll go to that sushi place you've always wanted to try."
"I'm holding you to that," Izuku chuckled weakly.
"Um, guys, we need to go," Eijiro interrupted them.
The villains around them that had been defeated by Aizawa Sensei were beginning to stir. Without another thought, Katsuki picked up Izuku and mad for the stairs, occasionally stepping on a villain here or there. When they had made it about a quarter of the way up the stairs, Katsuki stopped again before looking back over the plaza.
"What are you doing? We have to go!" Eijiro told him..
"Shitty hair, I want you to take my idiot brother and get out of here, understand?" Katsuki said while handing Izuku to Eijiro.
"What? Why?" asked Eijiro.
"Because we can't let any villains to the top of the stairs," wheezed Izuku, "If there are injured at the entrance, they'll be in danger. And if anyone is still inside, they'll have to fight through the group of villains by themselves."
"Just take Izuku and go already," commanded Katsuki, "I'll hold them here."
"Don't be ridiculous," Izuku coughed, "You're trembling like crazy. You have one or two explosions left in you before you wreck your joints. I'll hold them here, you two go and get help."
"Are you a fucking idiot? Look at yourself! You'll die if you stay," growled Katsuki.
"Don't be so dramatic, Ka-chan," Izuku wheezed through a tired smile, "I can't die, remember?"
Katsuki was prevented from answering by an animalistic roar. From the smoke and dust that hadn't scattered yet emerged Noumu, large sections of its chest and arm slowly regenerating. It seemed to take a moment to focus its eyes on the three students on the stairs, seeming to glare at them.
"How is that fucker not dead? I got him point blank with Howitzer Impact," Katsuki snarled.
"The son of a bitch has multiple Quirks, including Regen," Izuku explained as he extricated himself from Eijiro's arms and stood shakily.
"He's got what?"
"Multiple Quirks. Made to kill All Might."
"Are you serious?" asked Eijiro, fear crawling into his voice, "Then we absolutely have to get out of here!"
"And let that thing out to where everyone else is? Nah, that thing will get out of here over my dead body," Izuku wheezed.
"Hah, now I know you've fucking lost it!" Katsuki laughed, taking his own stance next to Izuku, "That piece of shit already kicked your ass once, what makes you think you're ready for round two?"
"Round two?" chuckled Izuku, "Bitch, this is round three already. We're one to one, and he only got the last one because its boss decided to interfere."
"Its boss?"
"The guy covered in hands. Sent him and the mist guy packing, so it was more of my victory, really."
Katsuki laughed emptily as more and more villains began to stand up.
"You know what this reminds me of?" he asked.
"That time in sixth grade when some ninth graders picked a fight with us?" Izuku wheezed.
"Abso-fucking-lutely," answered Katsuki, beginning to walk forward.
"Am I going to have to carry your ass through this fight, too?" asked Izuku, matching Bakugou's stride.
"Oi, I carried your ass through that fight! You got brain damage your Quirk couldn't fix or something?"
"Hey, don't forget about me!" Eijiro called, jogging to catch up to them, "It wouldn't be very manly to let you two fight by yourselves."
Katsuki and Izuku smirked at their new brother in arms. The three spread out and took a stance at the bottom of the stairs. The villains had just gotten their bearings and were grouping up when suddenly a wave of ice erupted and encased them all.
"What are you doing?" asked a serious voice.
"Todoroki! Thank goodness you're here!" Eijiro exclaimed.
"Tch, what are you doing here Icy-Hot?" asked Katsuki while trying to hide the relief in his voice.
"Saving you," answered Shoto Todoroki coolly, "They're trying to kill All Might by baiting him out here and having the big one fight him."
"We know," Izuku wheezed, "We were making sure they didn't get to the others outside."
"The others made it out?"
A loud cracking sound interrupted their conversation. Noumu had broken out of the ice with pure strength and slowly began to lumber towards them.
"They're quite stubborn," Shoto commented calmly.
"They have multiple Quirks, so don't let your guard down," added Izuku, taking a fighting stance once more.
"Hmm, that will be problematic."
"Worry not, children!" a booming voice resounded through the USJ.
A loud bang from atop the stairs heralded the arrival of their salvation: All Might himself, the #1 Pro Hero in all of Japan. He jumped and landed between them and Noumu.
"Why? For I am here!" All Might said with his trademark smile.
"All Might!" Eijiro called out, "Be careful, the big guy has-"
Before Eijiro could finish his sentence, All Might suddenly appeared before Noumu and punched it with enough force to create a shockwave. Noumu, however, seemed unaffected.
"What the-!? A defense Quirk?," asked All Might as he stepped back from Noumu, "No matter! I'll just have to beat you anyways!"
But before All Might could do anything else, Noumu suddenly leaned forward... and fell to the ground, unmoving.
"Well, that was anticlimactic," All Might said in relief before turning to the four of them, "Are you four alright?"
"Yes, All Might Sensei. But there might be others in the other zones," Shoto answered.
"Worry not, I'll get them all out immediately; But head to the entrance with the others, the other teachers and emergency services will be here soon."
And with that, All Might jumped to one of the other zones, looking for more students. As soon as All Might left, Izuku suddenly collapsed. Katsuki just barely managed to catch him before he got the ground.
"Izuku! What's wrong?" Katsuki asked worriedly.
"Foooood," Izuku wheezed weakly.
"Yeah, I know," Katsuki sighed in relief, "C'mon, I have snacks in the bag I left on the bus."
A/N: Hey all, hope you enjoyed the first of several One-Shots where Izuku has a Quirk.
By the way, I've lightly edited the Great Teacher Izuku One-Shot chapter into the first chapter of its own series and released it as Great Teacher Izuku. Ge check it out. I'm still going to finish this project first, so don't expect any updates soon.
Quick question: does anyone else feel like all my One-Shots revolve around the universe shafting Izuku in new and creative ways? Because I suddenly feel like that's the case (to be fair, I firmly believe happy characters don't go on grand adventures but so far I've placed him in two worlds where he's heavily discriminated against, one world where he's dying of a terminal disease, one world where he's just become a cripple, one where he's a child super soldier, and one where life's not terrible but not great either). So, I've decided to add an extra One-Shot that's just Izuku living a good life to bring a little bit of light into this lil' multiverse I'm slowly assembling.
I also had an idea for another One-Shot that I'm adding onto the list for this experiment because I can't help myself and I'm super excited for it. It's going to be a historical eastern fantasy AU, i.e. samurai, ninjas, gods, demons, and shit. I was originally going to write it for the next One-Shot collection but I got really excited for it that I have most of the outline done already. So, I'm just going to throw it in there.
So the next One-Shots will be:
- The Force Hero: Third Law (AgedUp!Izuku, Quirk!Izuku, ProHero!Izuku, LifeIsPrettyGood!Izuku)
- The Jade Samurai (Eastern Fantasy, Historical Fantasy, Samurai!Izuku)
- Digital Heartbeat (Technomancer!Izuku)
- Children of a Dead Time (Secret capstone for this project)
Also, I started a new job, so updates will probably slow down (or speed up, I don't even know anymore). Additionally, someone has asked me to Beta one of their fics, so I'm splitting my attention on that. No, this does not mean I'm open to Beta people's stories; their story seemed interesting so I agreed to help.
Finally, if you like what I've written, how about you head on over to my digital begging hat (Endless Ambition Productions on Ko-fi) and buy me a coffee? All of my work will always be free (fan fiction and original fiction) but I work a lot faster with a cup of coffee or tea next to my computer.
I'll see you all in the reaction chapter. Cheers! - Jerry from Endless Ambition Productions
