A Posh Affair

AN: After seeing a drawing by Yelnatsdraws, I had the idea for this story. It isn't long, but hopefully is a fun one. It's a bit different from her prompt, but you know me, I couldn't help but write some fluff. XD

The hefty hog sauntered his way towards the front door, his coattails nearly trailing on the ground behind him as the portly pig stopped to stare down at the two mammals in the opulent, and spacious, parlor.

"A remarkable gala." His voice was nasally and had such a wheeze to it that it seemed each word took a concerted effort to pronounce. "So finery has been exquisite to see. I'm quite surprised that a rabbit as yourself could afford such a lavish place."

The bunny smiled demurely and nodded her head slightly. "It's amazing where one comes from doesn't dictate where one ends," she replied warmly. "In Zootopia, anyone can be anything after all."

The pompous pig stared down his snout at the smaller mammal, eyeing the gorgeous, form fitting, red satin dress she wore. "Indeed." Without another word, he trotted out of the hall. It wasn't a second after his top hat wearing self had exited that a red paw shut the door.

"Finally!" Judy exclaimed, finding the nearest velvet cushioned sofa and flopping down onto it. She rubbed at her eyes as she stared up at the ceiling. "Why do we put these on again, Nick?"

"You know," Nick said as he turned to face Judy, jutting his thumb back at the closed door. "Because we love soaking up the brilliant aura's of mammals like Sir Trotsalot. You know, for a mammal who's grandfather was a muckracker, one would think he'd be less of a pig."

Judy snorted. "Niiiiick."

Laughing, the todd jumped onto the loveseat next to the bunny. He went for a hug, stopping as his suit coat prevented him. "These darn coats..." he grumbled, pulling his arms this way and that to escape the clutches of the finery. After several tugs and shuffles, he managed to toss the offending piece of clothing over the top of the sofa.

"That is a rental, Nick," Judy giggled as her fox snuggled up next to her.

"Don't care," he replied, wrapping her in his arms. "Bogo can pay for it."

Judy shook her head, though couldn't find the gumption to object as she snuggled into his embrace. The two mammals let the exhaustion of the night finally show. Ever since the city had found out the two hero cops that saved the city had been living under a bridge, and the other was homeless, as Judy couldn't get her old place at the Grand Pangolin Arms back, donations had flooded in to help them...

...including a certain singer giving them her second home in Sahara Square.

When they had objected, they'd already found out it was too late. The deeds and paperwork had already been done, and Gazelle had refused to take no for an answer. Judy, has refused to take the house as well. The two females butted heads over the issue until Nick had chimed in, saying a compromise could work.

"Carrots, why not have the house, but use it as a place we can hold charity auctions to help mammals affected by nighthowlers or orphaned kits?"

It was that one sentence that had convinced the doe to agree, though she still objected to how they had to dress for these events twice a month.

Before they could get too comfortable, which simply being in each other's arms was comfort enough, Judy couldn't help it.

"Nick?"

"Hmmm?"

Judy squirmed in his grasp. "Can you let me go? This dress is a little-"

"Beautiful on you?" Nick piped in. "Dashing? Debonair? Makes all the male buns go huwaaaaaah?"

"Constricting," Judy finished, blushing at the compliments.

The fox nodded. "You mean you don't like it how it forms to all your curves and makes you appear like a 20's diva-supreme with a side of sighs from guys when they look into your eyes?"

Judy couldn't even figure out a reply to that. After a few chuckles, Nick sat up and let her go. "I guess we should get out of these before we ruin them, huh Fluff."

"Yeah." She stood, walking as quickly as the extravagant dress allowed her to.

"Though I do have to say..." Judy halted at Nick's voice, turning to see him pacing towards her. He wrapped his arms around her waist, bringing her closer to him. "...that you look absolutely ravishing, my dear."

Smiling brightly, Judy returned the hug, before leaning up to place a kiss on his cheek. "Thank you. Though I do know that you are a sucker for sweats as well."

"Only on you," Nick shot back quickly with a cheeky grin. "Now, I know those appetizers wouldn't have filled you up at all, so you get changed while I order us up some pizzas."

"That sounds amazing!" Judy sighed as their hug ended. She walked towards the stairwell, taking them at an annoyingly slow pace, to her. Nick couldn't help but chuckle, before he jogged over to her, scooped her up in his arms, and dashed up the stairs, the bunny giggling as they ran up the ornately designed floating staircase.

The pizza could wait, they both thought as Nick finished hiking up the stairs, nearly tripping once or twice on the velvet carpet adorning the mahogany steps. Seeing the glint in Judy's eyes, her paws wrapped around his neck...

Yeah...Nick thought, his heart racing faster as the glint of gold around his finger glimmered in the moonlight from outside a massive bay window. Pizza can wait...
