The others were seated in the living room when Eddie came back out, he looked at them with sad and tired eyes: "What are we gonna do now?" he asked, hoping any of them had the answer. Watching Buck fight like this was just as hard as watching Chris, and he felt powerless that neither of them seemed to wanna talk to him or anyone about what they were going through.

"Maybe this is not something we can help him with" Chimney started, but was interrupted by Eddie raging at him;

"What, so you want us to do nothing, just leave him like this" Eddie said, whispering angrily to avoid waking Buck again.

"Of course that is not what I'm saying" Chimney defended and quickly before Eddie or anyone else could interrupt him again; "Maybe we", he indicated each of them ending with himself, "can't help him, but I think we all know who can" he explained

"We're not giving up on him and have him committed", Maddie said with teary eyes, "I'm not ready to do that to my brother". Maddie was crying now and Chimney put an arm around her to comfort.

"That wasn't what I meant, I don't think that is where we are at yet", Chimney spoke directly to Maddie now but was aware of the others listening as well, "but none of us was there. It wasn't any of us he went to for comfort last night, and I think that tells a lot" he said, turning to look at the others.

"Christopher" Hen gasped, realizing what Chimney was trying to tell them; "He went to Christopher's room for comfort. It's letting down Christopher his nightmare was centered about. Christopher was the one who was there. It was Christopher who made Buck upon up after everything that happened. We can't help him, because all of us left at one point or another, but Christopher can" Hen told all of them, almost reading Chimney's thoughts.

"Exactly" Chim said enthusiastically.

"You can't seriously mean that we are to leave my 9 year old son with Buck in that state, and hope for what? That Christopher magically holds the answer that 6 grown ups can't find" Eddie raged, not believing what he was hearing, not only would he have to admit that he was helpless when it came to helping the two of the most important people to him; But admitting his son was the answer, no matter how special and amazing the kid was, was unreal to him.

"Maybe they are right", Maddie's fragile voice sounded from somewhere inside Chimney's embrace. She freed herself a little to look at Eddie; "You know that Buck would never hurt Chris, quite the opposite, Buck even seems to subconsciously try and protect Chris while asleep. On the day of the tsunami Buck called me from the VA hospital, not making any sense or answering any of my questions, asking me for help because he lost Chris and had looked every imaginable place; You all saw the state he was in when you found him, but his only thought was Chris", she paused and looked at Eddie a little more hesitant than before, before continuing: "He saw you while he was talking on the phone with me, panicking over having to you, his best friend, that he had lost Chris, that he had lost your son. Chris was his only priority then, and I think the others are right about Christopher being the answer now" Maddie stated before going back into Chimney's embrace and sobbed.

"No, no way, I mean let's just step back for a moment and think about this" Eddie said, more unsurden than raging this time; "What about Chris? He's 9 for crying out loud, what will this not do to him?", Eddie was more desperate now, there had to be another way. None of them had noticed the front door open and close, or the three people that had now entered the room, before a small voice sounded from the door to the living room;

"Do to who?", Chris asked innocently and confused, "Is Buck awake now? I want to show him my drawing to him" Chris said proudly. All the faces turned to look at the three new people in the room, Karen looked apologetic at them.

"Sorry, Chris fell on the playground, we wanted to get some clean close" Karen apologised, just as they all got a better look at Chris. His clothes were mildly bloody and scraped, and he had small scrapes and bruises on his knees, hands and over his left eye.

"Chris", Eddie gasped and ran to his son; "What happened buddy? Are you alright? Are you feeling any pain?" he asked while examining all the scrapes, which Karen had of course already seen to but she didn't say anything, had it been Denny she would have reacted just the same.

"I'm fine" Chris laughed at his dad. "Can I show Buck now?" he asked smiling, 'what an amazing and brave little man I have' Eddie thought to himself smiling when looking at Christopher.

"Show Buck what now?" a groggy voice sounded from the hall, Buck just having stepped out from Chris' room.

"BUCK" the excited 9 year old yelled happily, wobbling forward to launch himself at Buck. Once he reached Buck, who picked him up into a hug, he asked: "Did the teddy with your nightmares too?"

"Yes buddy, that it definitely did. It helped me remember the bravest and toughest kid I know, and that helped me be brave too" he stated. Watching the kid over for the first time since waking up he asked: "What happened to you buddy? I'm sorry for taking you room, why don't we go find some clean clothes for you" he laughed, his laughter making Maddie cry even more into Chimney's chest. The sound of Maddie crying made Buck aware of the other people in the room; "Oh, sorry", he apologised embarrassed. "Did I interrupt anything?" he asked, even more embarrassed now.

"What, no of course not, no reason to apologise. How are you feeling?" Athena asked quickly before anyone else had time to react.

"Better I guess. Clearer in my head definitely" he answered a little embarrassed still, looking down towards his feet and straight at Chris smiling face at him. Chris moved a little in Buck's arms;

"Could we find clothes so I can show you my drawing?" Chris asked a little impatient at the grown ups, but not complaining.

"That we can buddy" Buck laughed, followed by relieved laughter from anyone else in the room. 'I be damned', Eddie thought to himself looking at the two. 'Christopher really was all Buck needed", Bobby thought, hearing Buck's laughter as for the very first time, seeing the young firefighter with new eyes, admirring both Buck; 'And the kid truly lives up to his name' Bobby thought looking with admiration on Christopher, a charge of happiness and sorrow ran to him as he remembered his own kids and how they had looked at him like Chris looked at Buck now; How life had truly come around for all of them.

A/N: I hope you have all enjoyed this story. I know the ending is very open, maybe I will pick it up again at some point or make a sequel, but for now I will end it at this
