Note: Four chapters to go and the story will be over, so hang on. This chapter will feature a three-on-one battle, one that will culminate in a satisfying conclusion. Now then, let's get on with it.

Chapter 10: Bringing Down the Bull

When morning came, Sabre, Randorn, and Bill decided to carry out their plan. The three men snuck behind the ship, being quiet enough so that no one would hear them. The door to the storage room was closed, but that wouldn't stop them. There was a button by the door, so Bill pressed it.

"And you said that we needed to pry it open." Sabre said.

"Come now, Sabre, that was before we saw the button." Randorn said.

"Let's enter before someone sees us." Bill said as he walked into the storage room with the two Cerinians following him. Once they were in, the three found themselves hiding behind crates.

"I have something to ask." Sabre whispered.

"What is it?" Bill asked.

"Why were you reading about Cerinia before you came down here?" The former Knight of Cerinia quietly asked.

"Well," the Cornerian soldier whispered, "if you may recall, your friend, Krystal Bodimead, is now a member of Star Fox. Given how Krystal is another Cerinian, I decided to read about Cerinia and its history. I must say, your planet would have been a better place to live if your king at the time, Opal Bodimead, was dethroned. Heck, I would even visit the planet if it didn't blow up a year ago."

"We really shouldn't be talking." Randorn whispered, "Someone might hear us."

"We won't be in this room for long," Bill whispered, "we'll move in a minute. All I need is to short circuit the cameras."

"There are cameras?" Sabre quietly asked.

"No doubt, considering the kind of person DiMaggio is." The Cornerian whispered.

True to Bill's words, there was a camera in the storage room. Without hesitation, the soldier fired an auto-hack dart at the camera, which short-circuited and shut down the machine. When that was done, the three men continued to walk through the ship, with Bill firing auto-hack darts at each camera they saw. Sabre and Randorn looked through each room in an attempt to find the room where DiMaggio was at. However, the rich cougar was in none of the rooms they looked in.

"How many rooms are in this ship?" Randorn asked.

"Thirty-two," Bill answered, "but we'll find DiMaggio without much struggle."

"Let's hope so." Sabre stated.

All of a sudden, the three heard footsteps approaching them.

"Someone's coming!" Sabre whispered.

"Let's hide!" Bill whispered.

"Too late for that, boys." A familiar voice rang out.

Sabre, Randorn, and Bill turned around and saw Hughes approaching them.

"In fact," the bull said, "you are just in time to get a beat down, courtesy of me!"

"I wouldn't be saying that if I were you!" Randorn said as a blue flame formed in the palm of his hand.

"And what will you do, old man?" Hughes taunted.

"Not just him, but all of us!" Bill said.

"We're going to beat you and stop DiMaggio from terrorizing the galaxy!" Sabre drew his sword.

"Bring it on, boys!" Hughes shouted as he threw a punch at the three men, which they dodged with little effort. Bill opened fire with his blaster, but the bull was quick on his feet. Randorn cast a spell that trapped Hughes, but he managed to free himself. Up next was Sabre, who swung his sword and dodged Hughes' punches and kicks. However, there was nothing the three could do to stop the bull in his tracks.

"Why don't you give up?!" Hughes taunted.

"We won't!" Sabre growled.

"And we'll stop DiMaggio when we defeat you!" Bill cracked his knuckles.

"Is that so?" Hughes asked.

"Yes!" Sabre tightened his grip on his sword.

Without warning, Hughes got Randorn in a headlock. The lupine mage was unable to get himself free from the bull's grip.

"Let go of him!" Sabre cried.

"Make me!" Hughes dared.

"Very well then!" Bill said.

Both Sabre and Bill fought Hughes, being careful enough to not hit Randorn. Each of their attacks didn't harm their bovine adversary, as he wasn't phased by them.

"You two are weak!" Hughes boasted, "It's clear that you two can be saved by death!"

"Then die already!" Randorn shouted as he fired a magic bolt at the bull, which blinded him and freed the lupine mage.

"You bastards!" Hughes roared.

"Not so strong now, aren't you?" Sabre chuckled.

"I'll kill all three of you!" The bull screamed.

"Not on my watch!" Bill shouted as he fired his blaster, which wounded Hughes. When the bull collapsed, Sabre raised his sword and brought it down. This decapitated the bovine with little effort.

"We make a great team!" Sabre said.

"Without a doubt!" Bill said.

"Remember, we need to stop DiMaggio!" Randorn stated.

"And we will with our teamwork!" Bill said.

The three men then walked out of the room, intent on making their way to DiMaggio. No matter what happened, they were going to stop the cougar from taking over the galaxy. The final battle was near, they could feel it.

Note: If the chapter was over too quick, that's because I'm not good at writing fight scenes. However, not all of my Star Fox stories will involve a fight. Then again, not all of my stories will feature action. In fact, some will be song-based stories. What did you guys think about this chapter? Let me know when you leave a review or give a constructive criticism. Until next time guys, peace!
