A/N – I don't own Tales of Berseria and Fire Emblem: Three Houses. I hope you enjoy this story.
Ps – Sorry it took so long. Work and all that shit got in the way, along with just being an lazy bitch. Normally, I would promise to update sooner… but I wouldn't because I hate lying, so no promises. Sorry.
The blue lions start preparing their weapons for their practice battle. Meanwhile, Velvet is checking on her students, where she sniffs a bit and notice a strong smell... a smell that is horrifically familiar to her.
"No... it can't be..." Velvet thought in horror.
"What is it, child?" The green haired girl asked.
"... What the hell are you talking through my head?" Velvet asked her through her thoughts.
"There is no need for hostility," The girl told her, "And I'm surprised you are not phased by me."
"I seen weirder." Velvet replied.
"Fair enough," The girl replied. "Now onto more important topics; what's wrong?"
"It's... it's him again..." Velvet thought.
"Who?"
Meanwhile, Laphicet looks up to Velvet's direction... and sees the floating green haired girl next to his sister. He looks at his classmates, where they were just minding his business, meaning they don't notice the girl.
"Laphi, are you okay?" Someone asked as they tap his shoulder.
"A-Ahh!" Laphicet gasped as he turns around and sees Dimitri, "O-Oh! Hello your highness!"
"Hello, are you okay?" Dimitri repeated himself, "You look very unwell."
"... It's fine. Just still a bit tired," Laphicet lied, "Apologies your highness."
"... If what is you said is true, that I understand." Dimitri replied as he goes back to preparing his lances.
Laphicet takes a deep sigh... and he sees Velvet walking up to him as she bluntly says, "Laphicet. I need to talk to you. Now."
"Ooh! Someone's in trouble!" Sylvain said cheekily, until Ingrid bobs him on the head, "Hey!"
"Quiet you!" Ingrid told him off.
"Alright, alright."
Laphicet takes a deep sigh and slowly nods. Velvet looks at her students and tells them, "If I catch any of you eavesdropping, you're not participating the practice battle AND detention for a month!"
"W-Woah! Woah! Woah!" Sylvain shouted, "D-Don't you think that's extreme, teach?"
"I must agree with Sylvain here," Dimitri agreed.
"I'm gonna talk to Laphicet with very, VERY private topics that is only between him and me," Velvet told them, "Ingrid. Dedue, you two are in charge of making sure nobody goes after us. ESPECIALLY you Sylvain!"
"Hey! What did I do?!" Sylvain asked.
"Of course, Professor!" Ingrid accepted it.
"I will do so, Professor." Dedue replied.
"Good," Velvet replied, "Now come on Laphicet."
"Y-Yes..." Laphicet replied as the siblings goes out from the training grounds.
The siblings, then, went to Velvet's room, which is rather basic with a desk, a bed and a bunch of papers in the wooden board.
Velvet takes a deep breath as she turns around and asks, "Laphi... is... is he back?"
"... Unfortunately... yes..." Laphicet answered honestly, "And who is that girl next to you?"
"Wha-you can see her?" Velvet gasped in shock.
"Wait! You can see me?!" The girl bluntly asked in shock.
"Y-Yeah..." Laphicet replied.
"I see... but how?" The girl asked.
"... Innominat..." Laphicet answered, "I... I was his vessel back in our world."
"Yes. I seen pieces and such through Velvet's memories," The girl replied. "Oh! And my name is Sothis by the way."
"W-Wait! You just telling us NOW?!" Velvet bluntly asked in annoyance.
"I-I just remembered, okay cockroach!" The girl named Sothis told them.
"Do you have amnesia or something?" Laphicet asked her.
"Unfortunately, yes." Sothis answered honestly.
"... I'm sorry..." Laphicet apologised.
"Aww, such a sweet kid!" Sothis praises him, and than insults Velvet, "Why can't you be more like him!?"
"Shut up!" Velvet told her off and asks Laphicet, "Now... my question is... does Innominat know anything about what's going on?"
"Somewhat," Laphicet explained, "He's saying that Sothis here is responsible of why we're here and why your powers are weakening."
"What?!" Sothis blurted out angrily, "The nerve of this... this... this... whatever he is!"
"Empyrean." Laphicet told her.
"Whatever! You get the point!" Sothis replied.
"But HOW is the question here." Velvet said.
"Unfortunately, even he doesn't know," Laphicet replied, "Though, there is some good things. Whatever Sothis is doing, his influence on me is weakening, thus he couldn't possess me."
"Oh thank god," Velvet sighed of relief, "Any reason why?"
"Well... it has to do with the fact malevolent doesn't exist in this world," Laphicet explained, "So he has to rely on yours... which Sothis is weakening that somehow."
"I see... so that's what really going on." Velvet replied. "Oi Sothis! How did you get us here in the first place?"
"I-I don't remember, okay?!" Sothis responded in frustration, "Can I answer that question later when I recover more of my memories!?"
"Ugh... fine..." Velvet replied, "At least we're now know the reason why my therion powers are acting very strange. Though... I wonder if my sense of taste is back?"
"I... well... we have to wait and see." Laphicet replied, "We should go back before the others start asking."
"Good call." Velvet replied.
"I must agree with the adorable one." Sothis agreed.
The siblings goes out of the therion's room, where they end up encountering Hanneman and Manuela.
"... Shoot..." Velvet thought.
"Huh? What are you two doing here?" Hanneman asked. "Shouldn't you two be at the training area?"
"... Private discussions..." Velvet replied.
"... Right," Manuela replied with a raised eyebrow, "Are you gonna come or not?"
"Y-Yes, Miss Manuela!" Laphicet replied timidly.
"Aww, sweet child," Manuela said happily, than turn to Hanneman, "Why can't you be a gentleman like him?"
"I-I bet you pardon!?" Hanneman replied with shock and a tint of anger.
"You heard me!" Manuela sassed back.
"Oh, would you two just shut up!?" Velvet told them off, "You're both clearly older than me, yet you bicker like five years olds!"
"What?!" Hanneman and Manuela blurted out.
Than the three professors start arguing with each other. Laphicet is just standing there while Sothis glances at him, than back to Velvet. The boy awkwardly tip toes out of the situation as he goes back to his fellow classmates.
As he goes back to the classroom, Sylvain wraps his arm around the small boy and asks, "Hey Laphi! So, what did you talk about?"
"Well... ahem..."
"That's none of your business, Sylvain!" Ingrid told him as she grabs his ear and drags him away.
"Ow! Ow! Ow!" Sylvain yelped as he is getting drag away.
Laphicet takes a deep breath and the young prince walks up to the boy, and asks, "Hello Laphicet. Where is the professor?"
"Oh! Ahem... Vel-I mean, the professor got into a argument with the other professors." Laphicet answered him honestly.
"Professor Manuela and Professor Hanneman?" Dimitri asked, which Laphi nods, "Ah. Those two always argues. It shall be fine."
"... I hope you are right, your highness..." Laphi replied.
Suddenly, the door opens up as Velvet walks to her students and makes a big sigh. Dimitri bluntly asks, "Are you okay, Professor?"
"... I'm fine. No worries." Velvet ensured him. ("Thank god I managed to sneak away while those two are basically yelling at each other.") "So, how's the preparation?"
"Very well, Professor," Dimitri replied, "To be perfectly honest, I am quite eager to put my skills to you. And you, professor?"
"I'm sure as heck we can win this." Velvet said confidently, "After all, I have more experience in combat that you can imagine."
"Excellent! I have high expectations for your command." Dimitri said happily, "That said, I have no doubt it will take everything we've got to pull a victory."
"I'm not strategist to be perfectly frank," Velvet admitted openly, "But I still think we got what it takes."
"Indeed, Professor!" Dimitri agreed with her, "Our opponents are mighty, that much is certain. But I'm positive we can win!"
"I admire the enthusiasm, Dimitri." Velvet admitted. "Keep that up and than everyone here can win this!"
The three hear footsteps, where they see Edelgard and Claude walking up to them.
"I-Oh! He-Hello!" Laphicet greeted the two.
"Hey there, you three!" Claude said in a relaxed manner, "Did we miss our invite to this strategy meeting? Oh, no worries-we'll just join in now."
"Nice try Claude, but I do not intend to let slip our strategies." Dimitri told him, "Especially when we are up against such strong opponents as you two."
Velvet just throws her eyes and replies, "If it was just me, I would have beaten all of you very easily. But I want my students to have some experience."
"Well now, we got some sass from the professor." Claude joked in a cheeky manner, "If that's the case, we'd better come up with some clever schemes just to defeat you. Right princess?"
"Right. No matter the tactics you devise, we will destroy you." Edelgard told them bluntly, "The best you can hope for is to learn a thing or two."
"Aren't we bold today?" Velvet said, "I like to see you try, little princess."
"Ooh! She just challenged you!" Claude said jokingly.
"Hmph, I will gladly accept that challenge, Professor!" Edelgard answered confidently.
"Haha, there's nothing wrong with a friendly rivalry," Dimitri laughed in a kind manner, "But let's not get carried away. A rash attitude could be your undoing, after all."
"Hmm... Perhaps your time should be better spend preparing instead of worrying about the competition's mindset." Edelgard told him.
"Hey, we are preparing, thank you very much!" Velvet said.
Than, the four people hear a noise where they turn... and see Sylvain sitting on the floor with bruises on his head while both Felix and Ingrid crossing their arms, and angry at him.
"... Right..." Edelgard mumbled.
"Hey now!" Claude called out to calm both sides, "If you three are going to be this fired up before the battle even starts... it'll make make it that much easier for my class to sweep up a win So please, carry on."
"In your dreams, Claude." Velvet told him.
"Y-Yeah! There's no way we slip up!" Laphicet said boldly in a bit of stuttering.
"That is a good point. That isn't my intention at all." Dimitri said, "At any rate, let's vow to have a productive battle, shall we?"
"Well, WE don't intend on losing to you guys." Velvet said, catching Edelgard's attention.
"Oh? In that case, I wouldn't hold back." Edelgard told them.
"Good," Velvet replied, "I wouldn't hold back either."
"Aw, how precious," Manuela said as she and Hanneman walks up to them. "Looks like you and the students have become fast friends."
"Oh no..." Velvet thought.
"While I am pleased that you are taking the initiative to acquaint yourself with the students," Hanneman said, "I'm afraid it's about time for the faculty strategy meeting."
"Ah, how time flies!" Claude commented, "In that case, I'll see you later."
"I look forward to assessing your abilities," Edelgard told her, "I hope you don't disappoint."
"Oh trust me Edelgard," Dimitri said, "She does not disappoint." ("... At all...")
"See ya, sis-I mean Professor!" Laphicet told her.
"See ya, just be careful. Okay?" Velvet told him, than turns to the prince, "Dimitri. Look after Laphi while I'm gone. Okay?"
"I-Of course!" Dimitri replied as he blushes a tiny bit.
Velvet turns around and walks with the other professors, much to her annoyance. Claude glances at Dimitri and gives a bit of a cheeky smirk, which Edelgard notices, but just rolls her eyes and walks back to her classmates.
Claude just shrugs and goes back to his as well along with Dimitri and Laphicet goes back with the other Blue Lions.
