The Old Neighborhood Part 1
Debbie unrolled the map. Pierce sat on the edge of the map in order to keep it from folding up.
"Levi, we can't plan an assault on your former home without someone who's been there," Debbie said. She glanced at Aether.
"I don't wanna go!" The fan wept. "Can I stay here?"
Debbie paused. "You don't have to go if you don't want to."
Oracle hopped forward. "I'll stay too."
I didn't want to drag her to meet Marshall. Who knows what he would do to her?
Aether and the others would keep her safe.
The trek through the forest made it seem like an eternity. I kept the battle plans in my bag.
We made it to the old neighborhood. I saw a pair of eyes look out from a hole in a nearby fence.
Then a voice.
"Is this the runaway?" a distinct male voice asked.
"Yes," I heard Marshall reply.
The gate creaked open. I came face to face with a Gsix.
"I've been waiting for you," Marshall said. He looked over at his friend. "This is Adrian. He just moved in next door."
"And Marshall told me all about you," Adrian said.
Pierce hid behind me.
Debbie shook her head. "I never expected an ambush."
Pierce and Debbie held cords.
"I'm getting flashbacks from when I arrived at your house," Pierce said.
