Plans for the Future
Hours after the honoring of Greil took place, Ike was still facing depression from when his beloved father died, and Mist didn't even want to talk to anyone else other than Rolf due to what has happened. Ike then wanted to ask Oscar why Shinon and Gatrie left the company. Ike then tried to blame the whole situation on himself.
"Why would you blame the whole thing on yourself, Ike?" Titania asked.
"Valentin told me he overheard you saying something about me being the new commander." Ike replied. "And Shinon doesn't like me being a commander. All he did was complain when my father was alive. I mean, look at me, everyone. I'm inexperienced. I told Father that I should not be in charge of anyone of the Greil Mercenaries!"
"Ike," Titania began, "you shouldn't talk about yourself like that!"
"Why not?" Ike asked.
"Because," Titania began to speak, "As far as you were in the mercenary company, you acted great towards us. You are a great commander! We like you, and we always will like you, Ike."
Ike liked the encouragement from his companions. He knew everyone in the company liked him. Then, Rhys came into the room and heard the conversation.
"Hey, Ike. I know I missed out on most of the conversation you've gotten into, but I think I'm getting the idea now." Rhys said. "I think the name of 'Commander Ike' fits fine for you, Ike."
"Thanks, Rhys." Ike said.
"You're welcome, Ike." Rhys replied. "After all, I'm staying in the company even if Shinon and Gatrie are no longer with us."
Ike decided to say something to everyone. "You know, your support is helpful, everyone. I really appreciate it if you can continue to support me and show me the reigns of being a professional mercenary commander. Again, I appreciate the help from each and every one of you, and I will continue to help everyone."
