Chapter 18: Twinblade's Wrath.
James proved to hold his own against many of the Justice League, but they still held the upper hand.
"We don't have to do this. We'll give you one more chance. Give up and surrender!" Superman said.
"Forget it!" James said before he slammed the Twinblade on the ground, sending a powerful electric shockwave that sent the heroes flying backward before he raced at them, ready to strike, only for Black Canary to blow him back with a Sonic Screech. Superman then shot his laser eyes again, only for James to block them and send them right back at Superwoman, knocking her unconscious. Wonder Woman shot back at him with her shield, only for James to use the Twinblade to knock it right back before he rushed at the heroes and vanished. Everyone looked around for him before he suddenly appeared behind them and attempted a spinning slash attack that was narrowly avoided before Green Arrow and Batman struck him in the back with arrows and Batarangs, angering him. He summoned a blue orb of energy in one hand before combining it with the handle of his sword.
"WELCOME OBLIVION!" he shouted before he started flying with the sword in front of him at an alarming rate of speed, leaving many heroes only able to dodge and just barely avoiding getting cut, while some sustained, thankfully, nonfatal scratches or cuts.
"Man, how are we supposed to beat something like that?! My screeches won't break the blades!" Black Canary said.
"There must be someway!" said Zatanna, then she got an idea. At this point, James decided to finish the job and surrounded the blades with powerful dark energy and started to prepare a powerful wild slash attack. Zatanna primed her staff and said, "Please let this work!"
James then started his attack, which left several of the heroes backing up or getting knocked away. When he reached Zatanna, he leapt high above her with the sword raised, ready for a final strike.
"eruP thgiL! (Pure Light!)" she said, putting up a shield of light around her, which dispelled the dark energy almost immediately when it was hit by the Twinblade and blew James back.
"Now, let's get him!" said Hawkgirl. The heroes rushed at James, leaving him to hastily defend himself as he was struck by Batarangs, a shield, a mace, Green Lantern hammers, sonic screeches, and more. Eventually, when he was cornered, Zatanna launched a spell she rarely used, "laniF hsalF! (Final Flash!)"
She fired a powerful beam of energy out of her staff that the sword blocked, but eventually, the blades cracked before they broke in two. James looked terrified as the blast hit him, knocking him unconscious. His outfit faded into a dark mist, which Hawkgirl dispelled with her mace and Zatanna's help.
Meanwhile, Superwoman was regaining her consciousness, but during the time she was unconscious, all she saw was a vision of green liquid with bubbles rising in it…
Back at the wasteland…
"GAH!" the Dark Inferno said as he felt a sudden surge of pain that caused him to let his guard down before Tommy struck him in the back with the Keyblade, causing him great pain doubled by Argo-1 striking him with laser eyes.
"It appears one of those humans has been defeated. No matter, I still have enough power to crush you children flat!" it said before it summoned a huge amount of energy that he sent in a spiral on the ground, like swords drilling up from the planet's crust. They didn't just send the kids airborne, they also made them dizzy when they landed, leaving them open to attack. The Dark Inferno landed a multitude of slashes on them that sent them all upwards again before it slammed them to the ground with downward slashes of its swords, causing them pain.
"Even if you do wield a Keyblade, you still have no chance of defeating me!" the Dark Inferno said before it rushed at Tommy, only for him to dodge and get in a battle of blades with it.
"Foolish Amazonian Son!" The Dark Inferno said.
