It is super late at night at Tory's apartment complex. Tory and Robby finally arrive after walking there all the way from the forest.
"I really need to rest my legs, it feels like they're about to explode." Robby says, sitting carefully on one of the chairs at their corner.
Tory chuckles standing in front of him sitting down.
"What? Can't take a little walk?" Tory says, smirking.
Robby chuckles.
"Maybe not, but I can do more pushups than you." Robby says smiling, making them both chuckle.
All of a sudden, they hear a loud revving noise coming from outside the complex's doors.
Tory is confused, so she walks out to check it out. But of course, it's Hawk.
Tory is relieved; it could have been that annoying neighbor.
She leaves the door open and Hawk walks in, bringing his helmet.
Hawk walks in and looks to his right only to see Robby sitting on a chair, massaging his calf muscles.
The two give each other a mad look before Tory walks in front of Hawk.
"Stop. We aren't here to fight, ok?" Tory says to Hawk.
"Ok, well then, what am I here for?" Hawk asks in a rude tone.
"They do not like you. No one in that group of friends likes you. They're scared of you." Tory says to Hawk.
"I pissed off Miguel cause I fought Sam. If her dad didn't step in, I was gonna give up. Miguel being pissed at me was enough." Hawk says, setting his helmet on the ground.
Tory sighs.
"You could have finished her." Tory growls at Hawk.
Hawk nods.
"I wouldn't."
"Yes, you would, man! Last month you destroyed that one fatass' face, and now all of a sudden you wanna be all 'peace and balance'? You're still the real you." Tory says,
before walking over to her water bottle.
Hawk sighs.
"Look. I came here cause I thought we were gonna have fun. Are we gonna do something? Or am I gonna have to force myself to get used to YOU?" Hawk says aggressively to Robby.
Robby gets up immediately and faces Hawk.
"Say it again." Robby says quietly.
"GUYS!" Tory says puts her hands on both their chests, separating them from trying to fight each other.
"Look. You can leave. I just let you come over to see if I could talk sense into you, anyways." Tory says to Hawk.
Hawk awkwardly looks around.
"I'm gonna hit the hay. So I don't have to see HIS face anymore." Robby says, pushing Tory and Hawk out of his way and walking towards his sleeping bag.
After a few seconds, Hawk and Tory walk outside the complex and they stand next to his motorcycle.
"Look. I'm working on getting it done, okay? He'll accept." Tory says to Hawk, quietly.
Hawk nods.
"Alright, I guess I'm going. Peace out." Hawk says as he sits on his motorcycle but Tory stops him from starting it up.
"I wanna know. Why are you doing this?" Tory asks.
There's a moment of silence but Hawk breaks it.
"I don't know where I belong. Not even my friends like me anymore." Hawk says, then putting on his helmet and driving off.
Tory watches Hawk do donuts on the street and blasting rock music as he drives away.
Tory chuckles as she walks back inside.
Before she opens the door to her apartment, she looks at Robby sleeping for a few seconds and smiles.
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Next day in the morning, it is now Christmas Eve but Daniel barely notices. Daniel wakes up already in an angry mood. He finally confronted Hawk after all this time.
This is the first REAL time we see this whole Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang thing having its complications.
Daniel puts on a blue robe over his pajama's and walks down to the kitchen.
He almost slips while walking towards the coffee maker, and in anger he pounds the table. As Daniel turns on the machine and waits by leaning against the table, he starts
to think about what he's gonna do now with Hawk and most likely the others furious at him.
He attacked a kid, a kid under his watch, and that will definitely not be tolerated.
Daniel goes into deep thought and dozes off, thinking about which one is better. Getting screamed at by Amanda or Sam? Both are equally terrifying.
"Hey! Merry Christmas!" Amanda says coming from the stairs, jump scaring Daniel from his daydreaming and making him gasp.
"Jesus, Amanda, you scared me!" Daniel says, with his hand on his chest.
"Jeez, so-rry." Amanda says, walking over to Daniel and kissing him on the cheek.
"Heh, yeah, it's ok. Merry Christmas to you too, honey. Is Sam up yet?" Daniel asks.
"No, not yet." She responds, walking to the other side of the kitchen and setting up the coffee.
She notices something is wrong. He isn't in the best of moods.
"Honey? What's wrong, you don't seem like yourself." Amanda says, prepping the coffee.
Daniel sighs and turns to Amanda.
"I just...I don't know what to do. This whole merger thing me and Johnny are doing, it might not turn out how we wanted." Daniel explains.
Amanda moves her eyebrows, intrigued, and hands him some coffee.
"What do you mean? I thought you said the kids were great!" Amanda says, eyeing Daniel while taking a sip of coffee.
Daniel also takes a sip of coffee.
"Oof, that's great. Anyways, it's just...the problem is...Me. I can't do this, Amanda. I just can't." Daniel exclaims.
"Well, once you REALLY figure out what the issue is, you come to me. I'm here for you. Because I know damn well that you didn't do anything." Amanda says, comforting
Daniel on the shoulder.
Daniel can't speak words. He wants to say how he hit Hawk and scared the others with his threat, but he just can't. Daniel stutters, and just takes a deep breath.
"Ok, you got me." Daniel says, grinning and scoffing.
"Ok. I'm gonna get ready for work, I'll see you there." Amanda says, slurping her coffee and setting it down on the table, then kissing him on the cheek again.
Daniel just doesn't know what to do, he's seriously not liking himself right now.
Johnny is taking his new car for a test drive, but unlike him, he isn't speeding. He's just admiring the wind as he drives down the road.
Johnny is just smiling as Rock You Like A Hurricane is playing on the radio. He eventually starts bopping his head to the epic music as he lip syncs.
"WOOO HOOO!" Johnny screams out as he grips the wheel super hard, just enjoying the moment and forgetting about everything else. Clearly Johnny isn't as conflicted as
Daniel. Johnny actually believes in his students unlike Daniel, who treats them only like students.
This is one reason why he still is having problems working with Daniel.
As the music gets more hype, he starts banging his palm on the wheel.
But it all stops as he comes to a red light and looks to his left.
Cobra Kai.
There it is.
Johnny's smile fades as he sees Robby setting up some Christmas lights around the poles in front of the dojo's entrance.
Oh man, Robby. How he failed Robby. The fact that he had lost his son three times. And twice to the enemy. He really must not be a good father. In fact, he was more of a father to the person that isn't his actual kid.
And now look at what happened. Robby-his son-setting up Christmas lights for the person he is trying to destroy. How could he let this happen? He won't fail Miguel. He can't. Not like how he did Robby.
Johnny sees the green light turn on and continues driving, turning down the music since his mood was dropped.
Johnny drives casually trying to not let the anger get to him but he just pounds the steering wheel and super hard.
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Sam is picking clothes out of her closet since it is now December 24th. The group is going to hang out at AirZone place they planned on going to earlier.
Sam decides on the same clothes she was wearing that day that Miguel asked her out back in season 1.
"This brings out such good memories. "God, I wish it was still like this." Sam says out loud.
Sam opens her laptop on her desk and turns on facetime, calling Miguel.
After a few seconds he responds.
"Hey, Sam! What's up?" Miguel says as he lays down on his bed.
"Hey! So since we are all going to that trampoline place, I found this outfit while looking for something to wear. Remember this?" Sam says happily while she shows the blue outfit to the camera.
Miguel laughs.
"Yes! That's the outfit you were wearing that day in school when I asked you out, right?" Miguel says, sitting up on his bed now.
Sam giggles.
"Yup! I thought, since all of us are basically friends again, it might just bring back some old energy from before." Sam says, setting the dress down on her bed and sitting down on the chair in front of her desk to keep chatting
with Miguel.
"Yeah, good choice." Miguel says, smiling.
There's a quick moment of silence but Miguel is the one to break it.
"Man...those good old days. I wish it got back to that. I- I mean, not counting the part where I hit you. That-That shouldn't happen, I-" Miguel says awkwardly but is cut off but Sam giggling.
"I know, don't worry. Maybe it won't be like that, but...maybe it can be better?" Sam suggests, making Miguel smile and start wondering.
"Huh. Maybe it can be. I just- It can't be the same. It's not like I want a rivalry. I just want to be back in Cobra Kai, but not without Sensei. But, trust me Sam. When the tournament comes around, we'll show them
who's boss." Miguel states with pride.
Sam smiles softly and nods.
"Listen, you know I don't like to talk about it but...do you think there's a chance that Tory could ever really change?" Sam asks nervously, hoping he says no. In her mind, Tory is everything affiliated with the word "bad".
Miguel sighs.
"I do. I hope that she makes the right decision. I seriously don't want her to be with Kreese anymore. He ruined everything." Miguel says, making Sam wonder. Why does he still care? After everything she did to her?
He still cares? Why?
But yet again...Hawk was accepted. Accordingly, he almost killed someone at the dojo. But even he was able to get away. Can she? Is she really not far gone enough? Sam likes to think not, but...
"Miguel...Kreese will get what's coming to him. That's what we are preparing for. To beat him and his...snakes." Sam says angrily.
Miguel chuckles.
"I sure do hope so." Miguel says faintly.
"I'm gonna go talk to Hawk. I seriously need to have a talk with him about what he did to you. He may be my best friend, but I can't let what happened yesterday happen again." Miguel says while standing up from his bed.
Sam's breathing shivers a little bit as she touches her bruise on her cheek.
"Ok. Please do that. Bye!" Sam says, and Miguel nods. The call ends, and Sam gets up from the chair
She turns around and takes a good look at the clothes she's bringing later today.
She smiles. Maybe it is possible. Maybe...maybe Tory has a chance at redemption. But she wants to convince herself that she can't turn good, she can't!
"We'll just have to see." Sam says to herself.
Daniel is at the dealership with his cousin, checking out the new car that was brought in for display.
"Yeah, it's a nice ride, huh?" Daniel says as Louie looks through the windows of the white SUV.
"Man, I knew it was worth coming back here. My god, this thing's a beauty!" Louie says, checking out the seats.
"Haha. Alright, I'm gonna go check on Amanda." Daniel says, turning around.
Daniel walks to the hallway and walks into Amanda's little office.
"Hey hey, can I come in?" He asks smiling.
Amanda looks up from her computer and nods.
Daniel closes the door and sits down.
"Amanda...I need to talk to you about something." Daniel says in a anxious mood.
"Oh no, is this about the poop stain on the toilet bowl? Trust me, it had to be Anthon-" Amanda says but is cut off.
"No, no, it's not that. Trust me, I know it was him." Daniel says, making Amanda chuckle.
"Look. I'm just...I feel so terrible. Seeing Robby with Kreese, it just-I think it broke a piece of me." Daniel says emotionally.
Amanda's smile turns into worry.
"Daniel. Don't say that." Amanda says, touching Daniel's hand to comfort him but he gets up from the chair in anger and starts to walk around the tiny room.
"Damn it! I attacked a kid yesterday, Amanda! MY student! I hit him right in the face! And he wasn't even going to do anything! He wasn't fighting anymore!" Daniel says in full anger.
Amanda stands up and is entirely worried.
"Amanda...He's getting into my head. I just can't do this...I can't..." Daniel says, his voice breaks down and a tear comes down his eye.
Amanda walks over to him and hugs him.
"Amanda...I want out. I just can't do this anymore." Daniel says, holding back more tears.
Amanda hugs him tight and rubs his back, comforting and calming him down.
"Honey...listen. They need you. Screw the other guy, they need YOU. You are the one that can teach them to not be soldiers and killing machines. You can teach them to be good. Only you can." Amanda says, kissing him on the cheek
as they continue their hug.
Daniel is broken. Robby turning to Kreese was already bad enough, but completely assaulting a kid just made it worse. Daniel knows there are going to be consequences to this. Even though it might not seem like much to the others,
they just don't understand. Not even Johnny, who lost his own son twice. Not even him.
He has to make this right. But maybe he can learn something from Johnny. Maybe a talk with him would be nice.
Demitri decides it's time to read those new comics he bought at the mall. He's currently just hanging out at the dojo with Mitch and Hawk. As Demitri sits down inside the indoor dojo, Mitch and Hawk are
just practicing different moves.
"Dude. You gotta not use that move anymore. It's too lethal, and we can't do that here anymore." Mitch says to Hawk.
"I know. It's just instinct at this point, bro. Been there too long, been here too little." Hawk says as he grabs his water bottle and chugs it super fast.
"My god, dude! You practice chugging that fast with beers I'm guessing?" Mitch says and then he casually drinks his water.
"You know it. Speaking of beers, I got like a 16 pack back at my house. I'm totally bringing it to that place we're going to later. My boy Rocco always hooking me up with the best, hahaaaaa!" Hawk says proudly.
"You always got 'boys', huh? You are on a whole other level." Mitch says, throwing his water bottle back on the ground.
Demitri sets down the comic in frustration and moans.
"No, I can't be reading lousy comics. I have to keep practicing." Demitri says, getting up and doing ab crunches.
Hawk and Mitch are practicing different kicks, but Hawk lets out a groan and just stops.
"What is it?" Mitch asks Hawk curiously.
"I just remembered what that bitch Kyler did to you and the others. I really wish I could have fought him." Hawk says frustratingly, sitting down against a huge rock.
Mitch sits down next to him.
"Look, man. Don't worry about it. I'm just not a good enough fighter to beat him. It's why I got kicked out of Cobra Kai in the first place. I guess when Chris suggested we go get some payback, I just wanted to show him
a little bit of payback for that day too." Mitch says.
"They deserve a beating of a lifetime." Hawk says angrily.
"I would rather get called Assface than Penis Breath but, you know, we don't always get what we want." Mitch says.
Hawk just chuckles.
"You ever think that...these Miyagi-Do's are holding back? Cause of their ways, I mean." Hawk asks to Mitch.
Mitch sets down his water bottle and makes a confused face.
"What do you mean?" Mitch asks.
"I mean, you saw me. You were there for a bit, remember? I was annihilating that bitch Sam. I wasn't using anything her dad taught me, and the only reason I got my ass kicked was cause I gave up. But I was going off!" Hawk exclaims.
"Dude, that's the thing. You gave up. You were gonna let her beat you right there. But then-"
"Don't. I don't need a reminder." Hawk says in a mad tone.
"What I meant to say was that's the great thing about being here. Now that I think of it, I prefer letting someone walk away knowing they lost rather than unnecessarily beating them after they lost." Mitch says, making Hawk wonder.
Huh. Maybe Mitch is right. Maybe the fact that he was going to give up against Sam proves that there is something good coming out of being here with Eagle Fang and Miyagi-Do. But what did that do? It costed him the trust of
one of his sensei's. Even though they already didn't like each other, if Daniel say Hawk giving up and kneeling in front of Sam in shame, that could have proven himself as not a merciless fighter. But that fight was barely an
exercise. He and Sam were going at it, clearly not caring about the task at hand. And in a fight like that, the enemy won't care what symbolism or true character is shown.
Hawk is still so conflicted. He showed his true self for a moment, but he is more of an insane brute fighter. What is he at this point?
