Emma, Morgan, Brody, Lynn and Stacey were once again in the stadium´s gathering hall.
"Okay, you four. From now on every win counts. One of you loses, it´s the end of the tournament for that one. It´s a lot of pressure for you guys now, and I won´t lie to you, but that feeling will get stronger the higher you guys reach." Emma explained firmly, but then a smile came to her face. "But I also want you all to have fun. So don´t start thinking of what could happen, just think of the right here and now."
The teens all nodded and smiled. A moment later, a message sounded through the hall via a loudspeaker. It says that the competitors of both Junior Youth class and Senior class are awaited on the field.
Emma held up her fist and smiled confident. "Now go out there and show the world what you´ve got ! Me and Ethan will cheer you all on as best as we can."
"We will ! One of us is definitely going to win and become champion !" Brody said and the other three nodded in agreement. Emma nodded back before making her way to the stands.
Fifteen minutes later, all remaining 32 competitors of the Junior Youth class along with the last 16 competitors of the Senior class had gathered on the stadium´s center court. Nico Smiley then walked up onto the stage. "Welcome back everyone ! It´s day three of the amazing Arc-League Championship !" He shouted into his microphone and the crowd cheered. "Today as well as the next two days we will be able to witness exciting Duels of both the Junior Youth Class and the Senior Class. The 32 competitors of the Junior Youth Class will duel until only eight remain. Those eight will then face the best eight of the Senior Class in the Semi-Finals."
Nico then held up his arm. "Now then, let´s find out the parrings for today´s Duels. All competitors, please put your registration card into your Duel Disk."
Brody looked at the grey card in his hand. "This is the registration card right ? We got it earlier before we entered the stadium."
Nico then spoke again. "The registration card will receive signals from the tournaments managment computer and will inform you about who your opponent will be and when you will duel him. The winner´s ID will update to then show who him/hers second opponent will be. However, this only counts for the Junior Youth Class since the competitors of the Senior Class will only duel one time in order to reach the Semi-Finals."
Brody smiled. "Alright. Then let´s see who my first opponent will be." He along with everyone else then stuck the registration card into his Duel Disk and an image of his opponent appeared on the screen. "My Duel will be the first one today."
"Mine is the second one after yours. I will duel someone from the Fuma Clan Duel School." Lynn said.
"I will duel tomorrow, against someone from the American Duel Academy." Stacey said and then looked up at Morgan. "And you, Morgan ?"
"Mine will be the last one today." Morgan replied without looking up from her Duel Disk.
"And who are you up against ?" Brody asked his best friend.
Morgan closed her eyes. "The one I hoped to face." She turned her Duel Disk to her friends and Brody´s eyes widened slightly as he saw who Morgan´s opponent will be. "Akio Kanbara."
Morgan nodded. "I finally have my chance to settle things with him once and for all." She then looked around until she saw Akio who smirked at her once he noticed her looking at him. Morgan narrowed her eyes a bit. ( "You gave me some really hard times during the last three years, and now you even start dragging my friends into it. Today, I will put an end to this.")

Episode 11. Action Duel with sneaky surprises
On the stadium´s large field was the opening match for Round two. Brody was taking on the magician Trick Tagart. His school, the Abracadabra Academy, is specialized in using tricks during a Duel and Brody was already on the back foot. Stacey went to sit with Emma and Ethan in the stands while Morgan and Lynn were standing on the sidelines of the Action Field along with all other copetitors who would duel today.
The Action Field was a beach and Brody was holding on with all his might. Trick controlled Cosmo Queen ( ATK/2900 DEF/2450 Dark/Spellcaster/Lv. 8 ) while Brody controlled his Stargazer and Timegazer in his Pendulum Zones and Action-Buddy Spikeagle ( ATK/900 DEF/900 Wind/Winged-Beast/Lv. 2 ) in defence mode.
("Damnit. This guy is good.") Brody thought while gritting his teeth a bit.
"Come on Brody !" Shouted Morgan from the sidelines. Brody prepared his turn.

"I draw !" Brody yelled and looked at his card and smiled. "I normal summon my Action-Buddy Whip Snake !" A purple cobra-snake with a small top hat appeared. Action-Buddy Whip Snake ATK/1700 DEF/900 Earth/Reptile/Effect/Lv. 4
"I use its effect to switch your monster´s attack and defence around !" Whip Snake swung its metronome on its tail to change Cosmo Queen.

"Next I Pendulum Summon from my extra deck ! Return my Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon !" The mighty red Dragon appeared on the field and roared loudly.

Odd-Eyes lowered its body, signaling for Brody to climb onto his back, which Brody did. He now stood on the Dragon´s back and Odd-Eyes roared once more. The crowd looked on with smiles.
"I know you want to battle, buddy. Just one little thing before." Brody said and then took a card from his hand. "I play the Spell, Show Sabotage ! I have to tribute one Action-Buddy to use it though !" Brody´s Spikeagle disappeared as it was used for the cost. "Now if my opponent controls a monster which has a different attack and defence then its normal amount, I can destroy it !"
"Oh no !" Trick shouted as his Cosmo Queen was destroyed.
Brody smirked. "Now attack directly Whip Snake and Odd-Eyes !" Both monsters charged forward and sent Trick flying into the Action Field wall. He then slowly slipped down the wall.

The Action Field dissolved as Morgan and the others cheered from the sidelines. Brody looked at them and gave them a thumbs up.
"Ladies and Gentleman ! The first victor of today´s matches is Brody Kamiya from the You Show Duel School !" Nico Smiley yelled.
Brody went up to Trick and shook his hand, they then departed ways. Brody then joined Morgan and Lynn on the sidelines.
"Oh my darling !" A female voice said that sent chills down Brody´s back and he groaned. "Oh no that´s..."
"Mira..." Morgan added. Both of them and Lynn then turned around and saw Mira running up to them. She wanted to hug Brody but he side steped. "Hey Mira."
Mira laughed nervously. "Hey Brody. I wanted to congratulate you to your victory !"
Brody rubbed his head. "Yeah... thanks-" He quickly stopped and looked on with dread as Mira leaned closer to him.
"Hey... don´t you know what personal space is ?" Morgan said in a warning matter but Mira ignored her.
"My Duel is next. Once I win, how about we go on a walk afterwards ?"
"I... um..." Brody stuttered, trying to get himself out of this... special situation.
"Well, let´s talk about it after my Duel." Mira said with a smile before making her way onto the field. "Whish me luck !"
"She is scary." Brody said.
"She is crazy." Morgan replied and Lynn nodded in agreement.
As it later turned out, Mira lost her Duel and then searched for comfort by Brody. Luckily, Brody managed to sneak away into the stands where the others from You Show were. He was wearing a capy and dark sunglasses.
"You okay, bother ?" Emma asked. Brody just sunk deeper into his seat. "I´m not good with this girl..." The others all only laughed.
The third Duel then begun. Lynn was in an desert Action Field. She was dueling a ninja named Sun-Shadow. He had a red scarf over his mouth and is student at the Fuma Clan Duel School.
Lynn controlled one Windwitch-Ice Bell while Sun-Shadow had Twilight Ninja Shingetsu in attack mode and one set card.

"Well not unless I beat you before that. Draw !" Lynn looked at her hand and smiled. "Guess the old methods are often the best. I summon the level four Tuner monster Windwitch-Glass Bell !" The witch appeared and landed next to Ice-Bell.

"When I control two or more Windwitch monster, I can special Summon this little thing. Appear, Windwitch-Snow Bell !" A silver like bell with yellow stripes and white wings came to Lynn´s field. Windwitch-Snow Bell ATK/100 DEF/100 Wind/Spellcaster/Tuner/Lv. 1
"Two Tuner monster ? Why that ?" Brody asked.
"Let´s see and find out." Morgan replied.
"I tune Glass Bell with Ice Bell !" Lynn said. Both Witch launched into the air as the summoning begun. ( 4+3 = 7 )
"I Synchro Summon ! Yin-Yang Windwitch Girl !" The summoned female monster sparkeled in the bright daylight and landed before Lynn.

"One Synchro monster won´t be enough !" Sun-Shadow said as he then pushed a button on his duel disk screen. His face down card rose up. "Trap activate. Ninjitsu Art of Decoy ! This continuous Trap will stop my monster from being destroyed by battle !"
Lynn only smirked. "Good thing I don´t need to battle ! I now tune my Windwitch Girl with Snow Bell ! Double Synchro !"
"Double Synchro ?!" Sun-Shadow said shocked as did Brody. Morgan laughed. "Seems like Lynn is full of surprises."
Windwitch Girl flew through the green ring which was made out of Snow Bell and then turned into seven white orbs. A bright light flashed through. ( 1+7 = 8 )
"Appear before me, Windwitch-Snow Magician !" A girl with very long blonde hair and silver eyes. She wears a white witch hat and a black cloak with silver magic symbols on the bottom end. In her right hand she holds a brown broom graved with golden magic symbols.

"Now her effect ! I target one monster and destroy it, then you take its attack points as damage ! I whip out your ninja !" Lynn shouted. Snow Magician pointed her broom at the Ninja-monster and it begun to glow. It then disappeared and Sun-Shadow felt the pain as he dropped lifepoints.

Lynn hold out her hand. "Now attack directly !" Snow Magician created a silver wand in her left hand and pointed it at Sun-Shadow. A blast of wind and snow then hit him, sending him down onto one knee.

"The winner is Lynn Weston ! This markes You Show Duel School´s second win !" Nico Smiley yelled and cheering went through the stadium. The Action Field faded and Sun-Shadow made his way towards Lynn. "Congratulation on your victory. You are very impressive."
Lynn smiled. "Thank you."
"If you wold excuse me now, I must return to training to regain the honour of Fuma and my brother." Sun-Shadow bowed and then teleported away with his ninja skills which caught Lynn by surprise. She then smirked with an impressed manner.
Meanwhile in the higher stands
In an empty part high up in the stands were two cloaked figures. From their size they must be around teenage age. They looked around before sliding the hoods of their cloaks down. It were Ren and Celina. They managed to sneak themselfs into the stadium and were now watching the Duels. But their main focus was on Morgan, Lynn and Brody.
"Our siblings aren´t that bad. But I still don´t understand how this world can have all Summons." Celina said.
"From what Master said, portals of all four worlds have appeared here in the Standard World. I guess when they opened, they brought the different Summoning energies into this world." Ren replied.
"Then I guess if we want to find the one special energy, then we have to continue watching this tournament." Celina said and Ren nodded. ("However, I somehow have the feeling I already know which power is needed to open the portals.") Celina thought before looking at her bracelet on her right wrist.
Stadium, late afternoon
The last Duel of the day was about to start. Morgan stood in one of the two tunnels which leaded out onto the field. Brody was with her.
"Be careful out there. You saw what Akio did to Ethan." Brody said with a concerned look.
"It´ll be okay. I won´t lose to someone like him." Morgan said with a small smile before she walked out onto the field. Brody waited for a moment before he went to sit with the others in the stands.
Nico Smiley then begun to speak. "Now it´s time for today´s final battle. Our competitors are both from the Junior Youth Class." He then pointed to the left entrance of the field. "Only opening three years ago, this school already has become one of the top Duel-Schools of the world. Reaching a good third place in the last championship they already showed what they are capable of. And now they have returned with only one goal in mind, surpassing the third place and taking first place ! It is the Hunter Duel School ! And here is their representant for this Duel! Akio Kanbara !"
Akio walked out onto the field. He wears a dark green shirt, black pants, short brown boots and a black cloak with torn off sleeves. A red scarf covers the bottom part of his face.
"He does looks like a real hunter." Stacey said while watching from the stands.
"I duled him and so I am being honest, this won´t be an easy Duel." Ethan said.
"It doesn´t matter. Morgan won´t lose, especially when she fights for more then just herself." Brody said.
Nico pointed to the entrance of the right side. "Here we have a student of a school that became a high name in the dueling world in record time and also discovered the incredible new summoning methode, the Pendulum Summon. Here is Morgan Reigns from the You Show Duel School !" Morgan walked out onto the field and the whole stadium cheered loudly. Morgan smiled and waved to the audience.
Nico then pointed to the sky. "Let´s see what Action Field it will be !" A glowing sphere of cards with a large Action Card inside it appeared in the sky. The large card begun to spin for a few seconds before stopping and the sphere shattered, revealing an image of an island in the middle of the ocean.
"Action Field, on ! Activating the Field Spell, Solitary Island in a Faraway Sea !"
( "Augmented Reality Combat System activation. Creating the Action Field" )
The ARC System under the field then activated and an island covered in dense forest formed around Morgan and Akio. They both stood in a clearing surrounded by the forest. In the background were also some rocks rising up high into the air.
Akio grinned but Morgan couldn´t see that because of the red scarf covering the bottom of his face. "Are you ready to get crushed like your friend, Morgan ?"
Morgan glared back at him. "I won´t forgive you. If you have a problem with me then come at me and not my friends. You will pay for what you did."
They both then activated their Duel Disks and Nico begun with the battle chant. "Duelists locked in battle..."
"Kicking against the earth and dancing in the air alongside their monsters, they storm through this field !" Morgan continued.
"Behold ! This is the latest and greatest evolution of dueling !" Akio said. Nico then held up his hand. "Action..."
"Duel !" All of them shouted together and the Action Cards scattered.
TURN 1 Morgan LP 4000 Hand 5 / Akio LP 4000 Hand 5
"I´ll go first, and I start things off by setting my Pendulum Scale with Scale 1 Action-Buddy Salamander Dancer and Scale 6 Angel Magician !" Morgan slammed the cards onto her Duel Disk blade and the pillars of light appeared behind her. Rising up in the right pillar was a orange and red wyvern with green eyes, a pair of wings as arms and sharp grey claws on his feet. It also wears a spiky dark blue clown-hat tipped with gold, and at the end of its tail was a blue orb. Angel Magician, who arose in the left pillar, was a girl with shoulder lenght pink hair and purple eyes. She wears a pink shirt, pink shorts with a black belt, long pink boots with stripes of golden armour, and a black cloak with golden magic symbols on the bottom end.

"Angel Magician´s Pendulum Effect activates ! Until the end of this turn, she doubles her Scale !" Morgan said and then held up her hand. The golden number 6 under Angel Magician changed to 12.

"Now I can summon monsters from level two to eleven at the same time ! Pendulum Summon ! Appear my Action-Buddy Fairy Dancer and Stella Fairy of Earth !" A portal opened inbetween the pillars and two beams came shooting out. Appearing first was a young woman with long blonde hair bond into a ponytail and brown eyes. She wears a yellow bikini-top, a long white skirt and golden spirals around both wrists and ankels.

The other one who appeared was a girl with hip-lenght golden-blonde hair that is bond into a ponytail and golden-blonde eyes. She wears a sleevless purple shirt, a short white glittering skirt and knee-lenght orange boots with purple stripes. Her wings are purple with orange border, shaped like wings of a butterfly with rectangula ends, and they are glittering.

"I place one card face-down and end my turn. Angel Magician´s Pendulum Effect ends and her Scale lowers back to six." Morgan said. Her face down appeared for a brief moment and the Scale of her Angel Magician turned back to six.
"Morgan Reigns didn´t hesitate and brought out a Pendulum Summon on her first turn ! Let´s see how Akio will face this !" Nico Smiley yelled with excitement.

"My turn ! I summon two Dark Hunter in defence mode." Two black and green humanoid monster with an cross-bird like head and a long black cape appeared before Akio, kneeling down onto one knee. 2X Dark Hunter ATK/1600 DEF/400 Dark/Fiend/Effect/Lv. 4
"Next I activate the field spell, Night of the Hunters !" The Action Field darkened as it gained a clear glittering night sky. "I also place one card face-down. That was it for now." Akio said. He then made his way into the forest, leaving Morgan no other choice but to follow him. She stopped at some point in the forest and saw Akio standing on a tree branch.

"I don´t know what you´re up to, but you shouldn´t underestimate me ! I am no longer that little girl you can mock and push around !" Morgan said as she was about to draw. "My turn ! I draw !" She looked at the card and then pointed at the two Dark Hunters. "Fairy Dancer and Stella. Take out both Dark Hunters !" With her right hand, Stella grabbed Fairy Dancer´s left hand. They then pointed their hands forward and released a combined white energy beam. Each Dark Hunter got destroyed but Akio remained calm.
"When a Dark Hunter gets destroyed then the monster who destroyed it loses 500 attack points !"
"What ?!" Morgan replied shocked. Stella ATK/2300 / Fairy Dancer ATK/1300
Morgan gritted her teeth. "I end my turn."
TURN 4 Akio LP 4000 Hand 2 / Morgan LP 4000 Hand 1
"Draw ! I activate the effect of my field spell ! I can special summon all monsters back to the field that were destroyed !" Akio said. Morgan gritted her teeth once more as both Dark Hunters returned, this time with one in defence mode and one in attack mode.
2X Dark Hunter ATK/1600 DEF/400 Dark/Feind/Effect/Lv. 4
"And now my field spell destroys random cards on your field equal to the number of returned monsters !" Morgan held her breath, waiting. Her face down card as well as Angel Magician in the pillar then shattered. "Next I give my attack mode Dark Hunter a power boost of 400 with the Spell, Sword of Kusanagi !" Akio said, playing the Spell. Dark Hunter gained a glowing blue sword.

"Dark Hunter attacks your Fairy Dancer !" At this command, the monster charged forward. Morgan begun looking around. She then spotted an Action Card stuck in the ground not to far away from where she stood. She run towards it, but just as she was about to reach it, she slipped on something that was on the ground and landed on her back. The Dark Hunter then used his sword to stab Fairy Dancer, destroying her.

"What the hell was that..." Morgan mumbled to herself as she slowly got up. There on the ground she then noticed an oily substance. ("That looks like oil... where did that come from ?") She thought.
"As the cost for using Sword of Kusanagi, Dark Hunter is now destroyed." Akio said and the monster disappeared. "I end my turn."
"Doesn´t matter. Thanks to the field spell he can return it in his next turn anyway." Ethan said.
"And then Morgan will lose another card. You were right. He´s good." Stacey said.
"He created a loop. Each time Morgan destroys one of Akio´s monsters, one of her own monsters loses 500 attack points. Then thanks to that field spell, the destroyed monster can return and Morgan loses a card on her field." Lynn said.

"I need to get ride of that field spell." Morgan said to herself as she drew a card from her deck. She looked at it and a smile came to her face. "Or I just bypass it. I now normal summon Action-Buddy Time Warrior !" The young male warrior appeared.

"I use his special ability ! By halving his attack points, Time Warrior can attack you directly !" Time warrior´s sword shrunk a bit in size, but he charged towards Akio.

Akio climbed a tree branch higher and grabbed the Action Card that was on the branch. "I play Evasion, negating your attack !"
"Damnit." Morgan said. Her monster was forced to stop and return to her side. ("Should I take the risk in attacking that Dark Hunter...") Morgan thought while she bit her lip. "I end my turn." Time Warrior ATK/1700
"That was a very clever idea of Morgan, trying to bypass her opponent´s field spell and the effect of Akio´s Dark Hunter. But it seems like she needs to do more then that." Nico Smiley said.
TURN 6 Akio LP 4000 Hand 2 / Morgan LP 3300 Hand 1
"I admint Morgan, you´re holding up better than I thought. So now allow me to change that. It´s my turn !" Akio drew. "I normal summon Armed Sea Hunter !" A humanoid shark with golden armour and red eyes appeared. He holds a white bow and on his back is a bag with arrows.

"I use Sea Hunter´s effect to deal half of his attack as damage to you !" Sea Hunter aimed his bow with an arrow at Morgan. The Pendulum duelist gritted her teeth and then starts running through the forest in attempt to find an Action Card. She then saw one on a tree.
Akio smirked under his scarf as Morgan run over to the tree. Morgan then suddely fell over a trip wire and landed on the ground. A brown net then fell down onto her, pinning her to the ground. "What the heck is this ?!" Morgan said as she pulled herself onto her knees with the net still over her. She then looked to the side only to see the arrow flying at her. It hit her, making her cry out in pain.

"Uh-oh. Looks like Morgan got caught in her opponent´s net. Literally." Nico said.
"Can he for once just keep his comments to himself." Lynn said annoyed.
"He´s a commentator for Action-Duels. With the years you get used to his way of speaking." Brody said with a small smile. "More important right now is to find out what is actually happening on that Action Field."
Morgan wanted to know that too as she stood back up and pulled the net away. She glared at Akio. "Care to explain what is going on here ? I am very sure that Action Fields don´t have Traps like this." She said, holding up the net.
Akio chuckled. "The field spell I am using is something special, only students from my school have it. When activated on an Action Field, a part of the Action Cards which are scattered across it become rigged with small Traps. And since I now how rigged cards look like..."
"This is somehow unfair." Stacey said.
"This isn´t normal dueling, this is action dueling ! Duel schools work on different styles to gain the biggest amount of attention from the audience. In this school´s case they act like real hunters. Real Hunters lay traps to lure, capture and kill their prey. Duel-Hunters use this tactic to prevent their opponents from reaching Action Cards. And once their opponent tapps into one of their traps, they strike." Emma explains the situation to her students.
"I´m a Duel-Hunter, and you´re my prey !" Akio said, pointing at Morgan who glared back at him. "And since I´m done playing with you, I am now going to strike !" Akio added. He then played a card in to his Spell and Trap slot. "I sacrifice my Dark Hunter in order to activate the Spell, Guild of the Hunters." The Dark Hunter shattered and the Spell flipped up on the field. It´s image was a room with several hunters gathered around a table. "This allows us to draw cards from our decks until we have five in hand."
"You do know that you just gave me a full new hand with this ?" Morgan questioned as she took four cards from her deck. Akio also took four cards from his deck.
"It was worth it since I now have everything I need to win this Duel." Akio said before he held up a card. "I activate the Ritual Spell, Altar of the Hunters ! This allows me to Ritual Summon a level 8 or higher monster by sacreficing monsters from my hand who´s combined levels equal or exceed the level of the Ritual Monster !" Akio showed Morgan two cards. "I sacrifice this two Dark Hunters and Ritual Summon !" Both Dark Hunters appeared on the field and then jumped into the air and vanished again. A loud howl could be heard and on one of the high rocks in the backround appeared the shadow of a creature.
"Appear level eight ! Worakh The Dark Beast Warrior !" The shadow creature jumped of the rock and landed before Akio. It was a black werewolf with three tails and dark blue eyes. It wears silver samurai armour and holds a long and sharp blood red sword in his left paw.

Up in the stand, Ethan face palmed himself. "Knew I forgot to tell Morgan this." He moaned.
"Well, it can´t be changed now." Lynn said.
"I know. But there is also something about this monster´s special ability." Ethan said.
"Go Worakh, attack Action-Buddy Time Warrior !" Akio shouted while pointing at the male warrior. The werewolf run forward and then slashed across Time Warrior´s chest. An explosion occured, creating a shockwave of wind. Morgan needed to shield her face with her arms from the wind.

"Armed Sea Hunter can´t attack the turn he used his effect so I end my turn. You´re up, Reigns."

"Draw !" Morgan looked at the six cards in her hand. ("I guess I have no other choice but to go on defence for now.") She thought before he set two cards into her trap zone. "I leave two cards face down and summon Action-Buddy En Wing in defence mode" A small brown puppy with two tails and wearing a small blue and red spiky clown-hat came to the field. A blue light surrounded it.

"I also switch Stella to defence position, and end my turn." Stella too got surrounded by a blue light.

"My turn now ! Draw !" Akio added the card to his hand. "I use Armed Sea Hunter´s effect !" The monster pointed an arrow at Morgan and fired. Morgan saw an Action Card on a tree branch. She decided to take the risk in walking into another trap and climbed up the tree. Luckily there wasn´t a trap so she grabbed and played the Action Card. "Go the Action Card Acceleration ! This makes all effect damage zero !" The arrow went past Morgan and hit the tree.
"Not bad. But now Worakh attacks Stella Fairy of Earth !" Akio said and the werewolf runs towards the Fairy, ready to strike.
Morgan touched the screen of her Duel Disk. "Go the Trap, Pendulum Force ! When my opponent declares an attack then all attack position monsters you control are destroyed !" Sea Hunter got destroyed but Worakh reained much to Morgan´s shock.
"Worakh´s effect prevents him from getting destroyed three times per turn." Akio said in a pleased tone.
"No way ?!" Morgan replied shocked. The attack continued and she gritted her teeth. "I use my other Trap ! Illusion Wind ! This negates your attack !" The sword of the werewolf stopped inches away from the fairy´s neck. The werewolf then jumped back to his former place.
"You have survived this turn, but at the cost of all of your traps. My next turn will be the last." Akio said and with this ended his turn.
TURN 9 Morgan LP 1800 Hand 3 / Akio LP 4000 Hand 2
"My turn ! I draw !" Morgan looked at her drawn card and saw that it was a Spell, but not one that could help her right now. She added it to her hand, and then gritted her teeth in frustration. ("Dammit. What now ?) She thought and then took the first card in her hand. "I set one card face down and end my turn."
"This is crazy. The only thing she can do is going on defence." Ethan said.
"An Action Card could help her but she is to afraid to walk into another trap." Stacey said.
"With that field spell in play, and with Worakh´ special ability, I´m afraid the only way for her to win this Duel is to finish it in one turn. But I don´t know if that is possible." Lynn said.
("Come on, Morgan. I know you can still turn things around.") Brody thought.
TURN 10 Akio LP 4000 Hand 2 / Morgan LP 1800 Hand 3
"Then I´m up again. I draw." Akio showed Morgan the card he drew. It was a monster card. "I summon Hunter Owl." A muscular white and brown owl with sharp claws on his feet appeared. It wears black armour on its head and wings.

To finally finish you, I will now summon my ultimate monster ! I activate the Ritual Spell, Endless Hunt !" A black altar with burning torches arose from the ground. "I tribute Worakh and Ritual Summon ! Come forth, level eleven ! God Hunter Ikusatsunagi !" The torches intense their flames and the ground under the altar begun to tear appart and a colossal, heavily, muscular being with black armour-like skin arose. His head resembeled that of a lion and in his right demonic clawed hand it holds a sword that has almost the same size as itself.

"...I...incredible ! I have never seen such a colossal monster before ! Is this maybe the end for Morgan ?!" Nico Smiley shouted. The whole stadium looked in awe at the new monster.
"During the turn Ikusatsunagi is Ritual Summoned, he can attack twice ! And the first one to get crushed under his sword is your Action-Buddy En Wing !" Akio shouted. The coloss struck his sword down and with it crushed the poor little puppy into the ground. The whole stadium started to shook as the sword hit the ground. Morgan almost lost her balance because of it. Akio then continued. "Next is your Stella ! Ikusatsunagi, crush this Fairy !" The monster used his sword once more and crushed Stella, destroying her. This time as the sword hit the ground, it formed a large crack and a storm of dust clouded the field.
As the dust cleared, Morgan slowly got back onto her feet. She had fallen to the ground due to the force of the second attack. A lot of tress around them also got destroyed, changing the forest into a half-open field.
"When Stella is destroyed by battle she goes into the Pendulum Zone." Morgan said while holding her right shoulder. Stella rose up in the left pillar of light.

"My Hunter Owl now attacks you directly !" Akio shouted and his monster flew up. It beats its wings, creating a strong wave of wind which hits Morgan and she get pushed backwards. Morgan LP 1800 (-1000) 800
"Due to Hunter Owl´s effect, he automatically changes to defence mode when he attacked." Hunter Owl landed back on the ground and was now surrounded by a blue light. "You actually get one more turn. But that won´t be a problem. There is nothing you can do. Ikusatsunagi´s own effect lets him gain the effect of a monster that was used to Ritual Summon him. And guess which one he will gain." Akio stated. The spirit of Worakh appeared in front of the coloss for a brief moment.
"That means that this monster is now also able to avoid getting destroyed three times per turn thanks to Worakh´s effect." Ethan said.
"This isn´t looking good at all." Stacey said with a worried expression. Brody looked at Stacey for a second before turning back to the Duel with a troubled expression. ("Come on, Morgan. Are you realy going to lose to him...") He thought.
Morgan gritted her teeth. ("I don´t know if we can win this. His Hunter Owl is now in defence, and that coloss can survive three attacks, and I can´t even go for any Action Cards because I don´t know which cards were rigged with this stupid traps.")
Morgan then shook her head. ("What am I thinking ? I still have one more turn to go. Breaking through this monster´s defence isn´t easy, yes, but there is always a way. And for the Action Cards, I don´t need them. It will be more than enough to trust in the cards of my deck.") Morgan now smiled and then laid her hand on her deck. ("Okay. This draw will decide this Duel.") She clossed her eyes.

"Here I go ! I draw !" Morgan looked at the the card she drew and saw it was a Spell card. Looking at the three cards in her left hand, she then grinned. Akio saw her grinning and took a firm stance. However, he still believes that there is no way for Morgan to turn things around, nor to win this Duel.
Morgan held up her right hand. With my current set Pendulum Scale, I Pendulum Summon ! Revive from the extra deck, Action-Buddy En Wing and Action-Buddy Fairy Dancer !" The portal opened and two beams came shooting out and onto the field. En Wing reappeared along with Fairy Dancer.

"Amazing ! Morgan returned two of her destroyed monsters !" Nico shouted with excitment and a lot of the crowd cheered.
"How did you bring them back from the graveyard like that ?!" Akio demanded to know.
"Simple. When Pendulum monsters are destroyed, they go face-up to the extra deck instead of the graveyard and then I can Pendulum Summon them back to the field." Morgan said with a smile.
"You can summon as much monsters as you want, it won´t matter ! You can´t break through Ikusatsunagi´s defence !" Akio said.
"We shall see." Morgan replied, still with a smile. "First let me prepare the stage for my monsters." She threw a card into the air before she catched it and revealed it. "I activate the continuous magic Challange Stairs from my hand. With this, when I attack an opponent´s monster and the monster isn´t destroyed, I can tribute one card on my field to attack once again !"
A rainbow-colored path then stretched out from the ground up to Ikusatsunagi´s head. A red, a blue and a green ring of energy then formed at different distances and so formed three barriers who first need to be broken through before you could destroy the monster.
"Futuremore, I activate the continuous magic Hope Stairs. With this I can increase the attack of a monster that battled an opponent´s monster by 400 until my next Standby Phase." Morgan run over to a tree that was next to the begin of the rainbow path. She climbed up onto the second tree branch and stood up straight.
"I use Salamander Dancer´s Pendulum Effect !" The wyvern unleashed a stream of fire from its mouth which then formed a ring of fire. "Once per turn, I can target a monster on my field, and that monster has its effects negated. I choose En Wing. Next, I can banish one monster from my deck, then the monster which had its effects negated gains the banished monster´s attack points, and its level." A card came out of the bottom part of her deck. Morgan showed it to Akio. "I banish the level seven, Fate The Lightning Pendulum Mage."
Akio was shocked at this. "You´re really going to sacrifice your ace monster ?!"
Morgan closed her eyes with a smile. "I think Lightning Mage won´t mind to rest for today. And besides that, she was almost at the bottom of my deck. I wouldn´t have been able to use her in this Duel anyway." She placed the card into her Spell and Trap slot, however, it was marked as banished. "En Wing now gains 2500 attack points and his level increases to seven."
En Wing at this jumped through the ring of fire and then begun to glow and grow in size. A large grown up version of him then landed on the ground and roared.

"I activate another Spell. Burning Pendulum. This lowers the ATK of one monster you control until it is equal to the ATK of one monster that is in my Pendulum Zone. This effect lasts until the end of my turn. However, it doesn´t prevent you from increasing it again with suport cards. Your Ikusatsunagi now lowers to the 2200 ATK points of Action-Buddy Slamander Dancer." Ikusatsunagi ATK/2200
"Now it´s time to battle !" Morgan smiled as she looked behind her. "En Wing ! Come with me !" She shouted and then jumped of the tree. She landed on adult En Wing´s back and grabbed onto his back as he begun to run up the path. "En Wing ! Blast away at God Hunter Ikusatsunagi with Thunder Rage !" Morgan comanded and En Wing unleashed a white energy beam with electricity surrounding it from its mouth.
"But due to his special ability, he isn´t gonna be destroyed." Akio reminded.
"That won´t save you from losing lifepoints though !" Morgan replied. The energy beam hit the red energy ring and destroyed it. Akio felt the damage via an electircal shock.

"And my Hope Stairs takes affect, boosting En Wing´s attack points by 400 !"

"I use Hunter Owl´s effect ! He gives Ikusatsuangi 400 attack points too !" Akio said. Ikusatsunagi ATK/2600
"Oh yeah. Well I activate Challange Stairs effect ! I tribute Stella from my Pendulum Zone to give Action-Buddy En Wing the chance to attack a second time !" Morgan snapped her fingers and the fairy monster shattered. "En Wing, blast his God Hunter again !" The now adult puppy unleashed a second beam that destroyed the blue energy ring. Akio felt another electrical shock. Akio LP 3700 (-300) 3400
"And En Wing gains even more attack points !" En Wing ATK/3300
Morgan smiled. "With all those attack points it would be a shame to let them go to waste so I tribute Fairy Dancer to give En Wing a third chance to attack !" En Wing shoot out another beam which destroyed the remaining green energy ring.
"All that damage is adding up, Akio !" Morgan said, and Akio cringed even more as he felt the damage. Akio LP 3300 (-700) 2600
"You think En Wing will get tired running up this hill, but he is only getting stronger." Morgan said and En Wing roared as he increased in power once more.
En Wing ATK/3700
"So awasome !" A young boy in the crowd shouted. "Go Morgan !" A girl beside the boy said, also seeming to have fun.
"Your God Hunter´s ability has run out which means he can now be destroyed ! I use Challange Stair´s effect to tribute my face-down card so En Wing can attack for a fourth time !" The face-down card shattered and En Wing fired an even more powerful energy beam.
"Fourth time eh ? But it doesn´t matter. You don´t have enough damage... to eliminate all of my life points !" Akio stated.
Morgan only smiled before holding up an Action Card. "Then I just play Mirrorcore."
Akio got shocked. "When did you pick that up ?!"
"On the tree branch when you weren´t watching obviously." Morgan replied.
"That card stops a monster from being destroyed, but your monster is already stronger then mine. It´s useless. It won´t help you." Akio said.
"Who said I´m using it on my monster ? I´m using it on yours !" Morgan played the card much to Akio´s shock. A forcefield then blocked the energy beam, but not the damage.
Akio LP 2600 (-1100) 1500
"While you keep getting damage, En Wing keeps getting attack points." En Wing ATK/4100
Morgan grinned. "And since your monster survived, I´m allowed to activate Challenge Stair´s effect again ! I tribute Salamander Dancer, who´s Pendulum Effect continues even when he leaves the field, to gain a fifth and final attack !" Salamander Dancer shattered and En Wing unleashed another energy beam. "It´s over !" Morgan shouted and the energy beam increased in strenght. It shoot right through the body of the coloss. Seconds later, numerous cracks formed everywhere on his body before he then shattered into pieces of rocks. This formed a strong shockwave of wind and dust. The rock pieces were falling to the ground while vanishing.
The whole crowd looked in awe and sounds of shock could also be heard. Akio looked shocked as well. In the stands, Emma was smiling. "You really have grown stronger..." The others besides her cheered for their friend. The dark sky that was created by the Akio´s field spell disappeared and a clear blue sky returned.
Akio was still not able to believe it. "I lost... against her..."
The dust slowly cleared. Morgan and En Wing had returned to the ground and Morgan had a huge smile on her face. "We did it !" En Wing roared loudly and then disappeared together with the Action Field.
Akio LP 1500-0 / Morgan WIN
"Unbelievable ! The situation looked hopless but then Morgan managed to turn the tables with an amazing combo and win the Duel !" Nico Smiley shouted and the audience cheered. Morgan walked down the tunnel which lead in and out of the stadium´s Duel Field. She then smiled as she saw the others running up to her.
"Way to go, Morgan !" Ethan said with a smile.
"Thanks, Ethan. I won this for us both." Morgan said before she high-fived with him.
"But it sure was a tight win." Lynn said with a small grin.
"You can talk. Your Duel against Kit Blade was very tight as well." Morgan playfully snapped back and the friends then all begun to laugh.
The four were about to depart when they suddenly heard a loud voice. "Oh my darling !"
All of them turned their heads and saw Mira running up to them. Morgan got an annoyed expression on her face. "Oh great, Mira. What does she want here ?"
"Wait, seriously ? Is this girl ever gonna leave me alone again ?" Brody moaned.
"Time to make things clear, don´t you think ? Otherwise, she will really never leave you alone again." Morgan said.
Mira looked at Brody with an expression of pure happines. "I finally found you. After all, you´re the man of my fate !" She then jumped towards Brody, planning on giving him a kiss.
"No way. That´s enough." Brody said before he grabbed Mira´s arm, trying to kepp some distance. "Listen Mira... you´re a really nice person, but I don´t like you in the way you want me to, and I never will either. So please stop calling me darling and keep your distance, understood ?"
Mira blinked for a few times before she suddenly looked like something just strucked her. She slowly sunk to her knees and made the look as if she had just died. Brody sweatdropped at this. ("Okay... didn´t expected her to react like...this...") He thought before trying to find a way to, well, make things normal again. "Oi Mira... are you okay ?"
Ethan and Stacey just looked at the scene before Stacey leaned closer to Morgan. "Um Morgan... who is she ?" She whispered. Before Morgan could answer, a dark aura seemed to form around Mira. This made Brody and the others take a step back.
"You... you really think... that you can just trash me away like this ?!" Mira shouted as she looked up at them with a murderous look. However, once her eyes fell onto Akio who exited the field on the other side of the stadium, the dark aura vanished. "Outa my way, loser !" She shoved Brody to the side and run out onto the field.
Akio thought he just heard someone calling out to him. He turned around and got shocked as Mira was just inches away from him. "Errr... hey..."
"I´m Mira ! Wanna hang out together ?!" Mira asked as she leaned even closer.
Akio backed away even more. "Oh... um... you know what... I need to go !" He then quickly run off. Mira didn´t waited for a second and run after him. "Wait ! Come back my darling !"
"I wish him good luck." Brody said.
"At least we are ride of her." Morgan said while actually feeling a bit sorry for Akio.
Somewhere high up in an empty area of the stands
Ren and Celina had watched the Duel. "I´m pretty sure that the energy of the Pendulum Summon is necessary to open the portals." Celina said.
"If so, shouldn´t the card then absorb the energy that is released when they use the Summon ?" Ren asked.
"Maybe there is still somethign else needed." Celina replied and then pulled a card out of her pocket. It was the card they used to enter this world. However, since it used up the in it stored energy, it was now blank.
The next day
Today´s Duels started with a match between Stacey and a boy from the American Duel School named Finn. They both battled on an Action Field which was a town made out of candy, also known as Candy Town. As the Duel went on, it turned out that they were very much equal in strenght. Right now, Finn controls a warrior monster named Royal Knight of Amarica, a knight sitting on a white horse which wore riding equipment with the colors of the amarican flag.

Stacey placed her fingers on her deck. "It´s my turn, I draw !" She drew her next card and looked at it. A smile appeared on her face. "Alright, it´s here. I now tribute Elegy and Sonata ! Tribute Summon ! Come forth, Mozarta The Melodious Meastra !" Elegy and Sonata flew up in the air and grabbed each others hand before vanishing. A new fairy monster appeared. She wears a red dress and has a pair of green and yellow butterfly-shapped wings.

"Next I activate the Continuous Spell, Fortissimo ! Once per turn, one Melodious monster I control gains 800 ATK until my next Standby Phase !"

Stacey smiled and pointed forward. "Mozarta, attack Royal Knight of America and end this Duel ! Gracefull Wave !" A wand appeared in Mozarta´s right hand and her wings grew. An image of piano keys flashed over the wings and Mozarta slashed her wand down, creating a large and strong wave of wind. Royal Knight of America took the full hit and was destroyed. Finn was sent flying backwards and landed in a lake of juice. Seconds later, Finn emerged from the lake and shook his head with his wet hair and sighed.
Finn LP 500-0 / Stacey WIN
Stacey looked up at the crowd and waved to her friends who cheered for her. She and Finn then exited the field and the next two Duelists entered the field. Both of them were from the Senior Class. Drake Kirigaya, one of Avery´s friends, and a young man from the Ryozanpaku Duel School.
The Duel ended in less then four turns which stunned the crowd and competitors quite a lot.
"And here we have the winner of the second match of today. It´s Drake Kirigaya from the Harper Futuristics Duel School !" Nico Smiley said.
"That Ace monster of him is strong. A lot stronger then to the ones I saw so far in this tournament." Lynn said while crossing her arms.
"He is someone to definitely look out for." Morgan replied serious.
As the days of the second round went on, Morgan, Brody and Lynn were all able to win their second match and so advance to the semi-finals. Stacey, however, succumbed in her second Duel against the Duelist Moonshadow from the Fuma Clan Duel School. And now the final Duel of the second round was about to begin.
"Are you okay, Stacey ?" Emma asked with a gentle smile as Stacey joined them in the stands. Stacey smiled back. "Yeah, I´m okay. I´m happy that I was able to reach this far in my first championship."
"But you guys won and now you´re in the semi-finals." Ethan said as he turned to Brody, Lynn and Morgan.
"Yes. And we´re going to reach the final round as well !" Brody said determined.
Morgan nodded before she looked down onto the field. "Now it´s one of Mamoru´s students who is going to duel. I wonder if Sarah managed to get used to the pressure."
"I´m sure she has. She´s Mamoru´s student after all." Emmma replied.
Nico Smiley walked up onto the field with a large smile. "Alright everyone. It´s time for the last match. The winner of this Duel will be the eighth competitor of the Junior Youth for the semi-finals. Will it be Sarah from the Strong Dojo...?" Sarah walked out onto the center court with a smile on her face.
"Or will it be Isao from the Ryozanpaku Duel School who had reached second place in the last championship ?" A young man walked onto the center court, his face showing no emotions at all. He wears clothes which are quite similar to clothes which people were wearing in times of ancient China.
Nico then held up his hand. "And the Action Field will be..." The large sphere of cards shattered and revealed the Action Field. "Cemetery of Swords !" The ARC system activated and the Action Field formed around both Duelists.
Five minutes later...
Morgan and the others sat and watched how the Duel started, however, they got shocked and horrified when they saw Isao Kachidoki place a hard kick in Sarah´s side when she tried to grab an Action Card and Kachidoki grabbed it instead.
Morgan looked on wide eyed. "Wha-... what´s going on here ?"
They then saw how Kachidoki kept physically attacking Sarah every time she tried to get an Action Card. Though being an adult, even Emma looked shocked and worried seeing how much physical punishment the young girl was receiving. Stacey and Ethan covered their eyes while Lynn looked away. Morgan gritted her teeth as she saw how both Kachidoki´s monster and mostly Kachidoki himself kept attacking Sarah until she landed on the ground, unable to move.
Sarah LP 4000-0 / Isao WIN
Morgan watched the scene shocked while the Action Field disappeared. "This is... Ryozanpaku´s Dueling style ?" She gritted her teeth even more and stood up from her seat. Brody who sat next to her looked at her confused. "Morgan ?" He then saw Morgan holding Lightning Mage in her hand while her hand trembled.
Nico then recovered from his shock over seeing the brutal Duel and held up his microphone. "The... the winner is Isao Kachidoki ! And with this, all matches of the second round are finished and we will announce the matchups for the Semi-Finals momentarily."
Kachidoki looked down at Sarah with cold and uncaring eyes. He then turned around and walked away while a medical team rushed onto the field in order to treat Sarah.
Nico then spoke again. "The Semi-Finals will be a one VS. one between Junior Youth and Senior Class !" He then begun to announce the pairings for the Semi Finals. Lynn was the second Duel. She was going against a girl from the Hunter Duel School. Avery and her friends Lucy and Drake also managed to reach the semi-finals. Brody was the next to last and he is going to be up against the last student of the Strong Dojo. And then there was the last pair. A picture of both Duelists appeared on the large TV screen with a "Vs." inbetween the pictures.
"And the last Duel will be Morgan Reigns from the You Show Duel School against Isao Kachidoki from the Ryozanpaku Duel School !"
Morgan got shocked as she heard that, as well as the others.
