In the distant past (that was two years ago) the Thieves Guild would usually send low-ranking recruits to scour the streets and towns to get the most amount of septums in one day. until recently they discovered that creating camps, similar to Bandits, can obtain more gold if they make the camp hidden. to hide the camps they usually use abandoned caves, however, the guild had realized that caves nearby roads are particularly uncommon. to combat this downside The Guild Hired several miners to dig the caves so that they can stay in or nearby popular locations, such as the Dragonborn's home. while the practice of screening the streets is still being used it is often given to the lower-ranking members of The Guild, more experience thieves have the chance to stay in a cave and vacuum the coin from unsuspecting prey. Avid enthusiasts may also know that the Thieves Guild and the brotherhood assassins have a strong connection to each other, an example of this is prevalence when One of their members join the brotherhood assassins to avoid suspicion from the guards. If things go accordingly then Kino can obtain a famed horse without the worry of death of the horse. The only problem is finding the Brotherhood by asking the thief where it is and successfully convincing them that the Dragonborn is worth the effort of saving.
"This is a nice place," Oliver said as he climbed down " shame it will have to go soon."
" no Oliver," Arago said " this is a friend of Kino's, we aren't going to kill her because she's a thief. if that's how you feel about it go on and kill your brother, he's Dark Brotherhood and thieves guild."
As the Dragonborn steps down they all stopped bickering at each other. after a couple more threats against the thief and threats to shut up Oliver if he doesn't stop threatening the thief they continued.
" I'm sorry about my brothers," kino said " it's just that we've been attacked by a ton of Bandits today and we don't want to repeat that scenario. as you can already guess I'm with the Dragonborn, the Most Wanted person in the black market. all we require is the approximate location of the sanctuary for the Brotherhood."
"I know," said the thief " I saw the corpse."
Aragos eyes went wide but the Dragonborn cut off his thought before he could say anything.
"no arago, she did not kill the horse." the Dragonborn said, "the arrow was on the other side of the horse. If it were coming from the direction we are then I'd be worried, but it wasn't so I'm not."
" And besides," Kino added " my head was sticking out through the carriage, she would have known if it were me. plus I know that the guild would not go so low as to kill a horse in broad daylight in the middle of a busy-"
kino trailed off as he was trying to find the words. after failing to spit the words out of his mouth his ears went Lax and he sighed. Everyone ( including the thief) shook their heads before the Dragonborn said: " I see what you mean and I don't doubt it, what I do doubt is the authenticity that the thief may project."
kino replied " I'm a thief, do you trust me?" in a slow and knowing tone. as expected everyone ( including the Dragonborn) nodded their approval, "exactly, so here we are standing in front of another thief from the same Clan as I'm in, do you think that she can be trustworthy? especially considering when she is part of my group of friends and accomplices."
None of them said a word, which was encouraging. after a few minutes, they set out. They all went in silence before the Dragonborn asked: " if you're part of the Dark Brotherhood why are you need to ask where their Sanctuary is?"
" Sometimes they move their sanctuaries so I forget where they are." Kino answered, " usually they moved back but by then I erased the location from my mind."
the lapsed back into silence before arriving at Falkreath.
Falkreath is a small town, Located in a low-lying forest area some distance west of Helgen. Like many of Skyrim's woodland settlements, Falkreath's economy is heavily reliant on the production of lumber. It is one of the smaller major cities, with no real walls surrounding it and no large buildings. The town is far more similar to a small farming village rather than a major city. It is famous for its large graveyard, in which many Nords, both combatants and non-combatants, are buried, Which is where they were going.
the group looked around, everyone agreed that the cemetery has grown the last time they been there, which was not surprising. The graveyard of Falkreath contains many famous Nords who requested to be buried in Falkreath, next to the other honored dead of past battles. Since they were constantly living alongside the dead, the people of Falkreath gave many of their shops and other buildings names related to death. About 3 months ago a group of necromancers has formed a secret cult based upon the Fallen buried in Falkreath. while their acts are questionable their only thought of as a nuisance to the citizens of Falkreath, some even consider them as the town's private militia after a raid gone wrong. They mainly helped because they are on the break of notoriety when a passerby noticed the grave that read "here be dragons" and nothing more, coincidentally this is where their secret base is located. after this day try to figure out a way to bring people away from their Base and in the case of Discovery, they will not be tempted to Lynch them, which is when the bandits attempted to plunder the city.
Before knocking at the Brotherhood door and praying that the Black Sacrament wasn't prepared for the Dragonborn ( which more than likely happen several times already) they went to an inn called "Dead Man's drink". almost anybody who has ever been to Falkreath knows the short yet funny tale of the naming of the inn where the founder (Valga Vinicia) Name that such as an homage to the Falkreath inside joke.
once inside the Dragonborn ordered any health potions that she could afford as well as any food that they had. Kino bought another gallon of water immediately after he drunk his last gallon, Arago bought all the potions they had left, Oliver almost bought some Mead but stop short when he saw everybody looking at him shaking their heads and, instead, bought a sword ( the Dragonborn sold the sword as payment of her purchase). After they were ready to leave ( and Kino bought another gallon of water after drinking his newly-purchased gallon) they went straight to the graveyard in search of the brotherhood's base. They followed a dirt road, which was unusual as the rest of the roads were cobbled Before coming to a door.
Kino knocked on the door in which the man behind the door asked "What is the music of life?".
Kino replied "Silence, my brother."
the man replied " welcome ho-" but stopped short when he realized ( through spell ) The Dragonborn presence.
The Man Behind the Door quickly stammered "y-y-you are not worthy".
to everyone's last thing regrets Oliver piped up in an agitated voice " not worthy! I've been to this place before and I've heard the passcode, I know this is the correct passcode. whether you like it or not I'm coming in".
With lightning-fast reflexes and anger in his eyes, he pulled out the force breaker and went to bust the door down.
"oh, shit!" The gatekeeper said and ran inside, just in time to avoid the flying door that was hurtling at him.
The three attempted ( and failed) to restrain Oliver and suppress is Rage, he had murder in his eyes and was ready to expel it and some poor, unsuspecting doorman... or at least he would have if he wasn't being rushed by a ton of skeletons.
