Tris, Zeke, and Harrison arrive at the loft with Zeke and Harrison keeping a sharp eye out for anything suspicious. They scour the outside of the apartment for anything but find nothing. Zeke has an idea to check Tris's office since she hasn't been there in a few days. Tris assures them that she will be safe in the loft while they go and she takes the opportunity to shower and change clothes since she had been in the same outfit from two days ago.
She doesn't know how long she stands in the shower staring at the shower wall as she finally lets the tears flow freely from her eyes. At first, the tears fall slowly from her eyes but they quickly increase and she full out sobs leaning on the wall for support. After a while, she sinks to the floor of the shower. She doesn't realize that the water has turned cold until the baby gives her a strong kick to the ribs which brings her back to reality.
"I'm sorry little guy, Mommy just lost it for a moment, we are fine and Daddy is going to be fine" she murmurs to her swollen belly. She dries off and changes into some comfortable clothes. She fixes herself some tea and pulls out Tobias's phone. Zeke didn't need it for evidence but she kept it just in case Al tried to call it again. His screen saver is a picture he snapped of Tris one afternoon when they were still sneaking around. They had made love and he told her how beautiful she was and he wanted to remember he like this, knowing she was glowing because of him.
She unlocks his phone, they had agreed that they didn't have to hide anything from each other and she had almost cried when he told her the phone to unlock his phone had been the same for the past five years, their birthdays. She smiles as she scrolls through the photos of her and Tobias he has saved. Her heart warms when she sees he has photos of them from college saved as well. There was no way they had gone through years of separation for it to end this way.
She starts to talk to her unborn child describing every picture of her and Tobias. The night they got engaged, one random day they were painting the nursery and started a paint fight with Tori, The night out for her 21st birthday, the day they spent at the beach on Lake Michigan the summer before their senior year. Every picture reminded her of how happy they were and how much they had worked on strengthening their relationship. They talked more now, about everything. Tris had been amazed since they had gotten back together how willingly he talked about his feelings now.
Even though she lets a few tears fall as she talks to her son, she thinks about how complete she feels with Tobias. She had to be strong for Tobias and for Carter.
As soon as Zeke uses the key Tris gave him to open the door, Tris hops up from the couch anxious.
"Did you find anything?" Tris asks.
"Yes, this envelope was addressed to you," Harrison says handing it to her. She figured they had already opened it wanting to get ahead on the investigation.
"Come alone 1107 Conner Rd" Tris reads aloud "Is this near the location he sent Tobias?"
"It's in the area, not too far away" Zeke replies, pulling out a map and showing Tris where he has started both the locations.
Tris looks at the map curiously.
"What do you see Tris?" Zeke knew Tris was used to looking at evidence from case files from her years in D.C. at the Attorney General's office.
"Thomas, Conner… Names" Tris says thinking out loud.
"Wait, Tris, you are on to something," Harrison says pointing to the names. "These are all last names he has used as aliases according to what we have been able to find in Boston and Texas."
"Is there one that is missing?" Tris asks.
"Reynolds," Harrison says looking at the map.
"Reynolds Ave is here" Tris points out and Zeke circles it. Tris takes the marker and draws a line between each of the circles and steps back. The streets form a triangle.
"He's here," Tris says pointing to the middle of the triangle.
"Are you sure Tris?" Zeke asks and she nods her head in response.
"Do any of these street names mean anything?" Harrison asks.
"Zeke, look!" Tris says wide-eyed getting a closer look at the map.
Harrison takes a closer look too but looks between Zeke and Tris trying to see what they see.
"Eaton Street, What the Fuck" Harrison says.
"This is all about Tobias, but why is the question," Zeke says.
Tris wasn't sure but she knew they had to get to Tobias one way or another.
"The son of a bitch is smarter than we anticipated" Harrison grunts out.
"Not that smart" Tris spits out.
"We need to sweep the area now," Harrison says as he pulls out his phone.
"No," Tris says, forcefully grabbing his hand.
"Tris, You are not doing this" Zeke responds.
"Yes I am Zeke, he could kill Tobias before you get to him if I don't show up," Tris says definitely.
"He could kill all of you and the baby, and I cannot put you in harm's way. Think of the baby Tris". Zeke pleads.
"You don't get to make that decision for me Zeke" Tris fires back.
"Tobias would kill me if I willingly let you hand yourself over to him" Zeke argues back. "He wouldn't want you to do anything that remotely was dangerous"
"And he's not here right now is he," Tris says slamming her hand down on the table with her voiced raised. "I will not allow you to put Tobias's life in danger either because you want to bulldoze your way through this instead of playing it smart".
Zeke takes a deep breath and pinches his fingers across the bridge of his nose and closes his eyes realizing that Tris is so stubborn arguing with her head on isn't going to get him anywhere. He and Harrison had to act quickly before Tris could do anything reckless.
It's several more hours before Tobias hears the front door open again. He hasn't been able to get many more words out of Myra. She's been missing for 3 years so he reasons she's been held captive that long. The interactions we witnessed between her and Molly are strange. He remembers Harrison saying she was missing but she seemed to be here of her own free will. How the hell had Al brainwashed her into helping him.
He's been racking his brain trying to figure out how he knows her but it finally clicks when he sees a picture of himself on the board from the summer he and Zeke spent in Boston. Zeke had forced him into a double date with Myra to go out with her friend. It had been an innocent date with both of them agreeing that they weren't interested in each other. He had never seen Myra again until now. His head was spinning with trying to put all the pieces together, if this was about him and not Tris what was he missing?
His stomach rumbled, he had been trying to ignore the fact that he was hungry with his last meal being lunch the day before. Myra had only been brought one meal but no one had even acknowledged his presence in the room. It was as if they were purposely ignoring him.
He hears footsteps and the door unlocking. The footsteps heading down the are heavy and Tobias can tell that it's Al based on the heavy steps, Molly's steps had been lighter. When he reaches the bottom of the stairs doesn't acknowledge Tobias but goes straight to Myra.
"Myra, Do you think you have learned your lesson?" Al asks in a tone that makes Tobias want to vomit. He's looking at her the way like a parent who needs to discipline their child.
"Yes I have, I'm sorry," she says in a timid voice that makes her seem like a child.
"Molly and I think that if you have learned your lesson you can join us for dinner" Al replies in an even calm tone.
"I would like that very much," Myra says. Tobias can see Al unlock her restraints and he helps her up and guides her gently to the stairs. Tobias would almost think his movements and tone were loving. What kind of sick game was Al playing at. Myra and Molly seem almost brainwashed. He could tell Myra genuinely seemed afraid to tell him anything even when the house was empty.
Tobias can hear the sounds of them eating dinner, with muffled voices and he can swear he hears laughter. He doesn't know how much more time passes but he can tell the dinner has ended and there's the now familiar sounds of the basement door being unlocked and heavy footsteps down the stairs.
Al looks at him smugly as he approaches the end of the bed.
"Enjoying your accommodations," Al asks and Tobias continues to stare at the ceiling.
"Are you planning on explaining to me why I'm here or are you going to leave me here until I figure it out?" Tobias says with little emotion not bothering to sit up and look at Al.
"You know my girls are really excited about adding a baby to our growing family." Al threatens with a sadistic tone.
"If you touch Tris or our baby, I will kill you" Tobias replies cold and flat. Part of him knows he shouldn't push him considering he's chained to this bed, but he won't let Al think for one minute that he won't protect his family.
"The baby will never get to know you, and once Tris realizes that she can be happy with our family things will be much easier."
Tobias doesn't want to play this game with Al. He doesn't want to feed into his delusion but he realizes he needs to get to try and get more information out of Al, especially if he has the opportunity to try and escape.
"And you expect Tris to do this willingly?"
"She will, once you are out of the way. Everything was fine and going according to plan before you showed up"
"Look I don't know what I ever did to upset you.." Tobias starts as he sits up in the bed.
"What did you do? The golden boy, the best at everything, the one all the girls loved…" Al yells. His eyes were wild now and Tobias could see not only rage in them but there was also a flash of sadness. He starts pacing back and forth as he continues to ramble on how about Tobias being perfect and how he was never enough.
Tobias realizes he needs to get Al calm again but he's so confused he doesn't know what Al is talking about to even attempt to reason with him.
"Like I said I'm sorry for how I've wronged you but it would help me out if you would help me understand where I went wrong," Tobias says in a low quiet voice.
"You know he would tell me it was for my own good when he beat me, that it would make me better, he wanted me to be like you. When he left me locked in the closed he would tell me to think about why I couldn't be the perfect Tobias." Al sobs as he pulls his hair.
Tobias is looking at him intently as he paces back and forth in front of the board with all the pictures.
"Who? I have not idea who you are talking about. You keep talking in circles with this game you keep playing and I don't know what the fuck you are talking about. Who would compare me to you? I've never fucking met you before a few months ago" Tobias spits back as his resolve to stay calm stats to falter.
Al stops pacing and sobbing and looks at Tobias with a blank face like he's trying to register why Tobias doesn't understand.
"Our Father, Marcus"
