Kara and Lena had been together for just over six months now. At the same time, her powers had appeared, which she now mastered almost perfectly. She had mastered them much faster than her cousin who had taken several years to master them completely.

The love between Kara and Tess was infinite, like the two missing pieces of a puzzle, yin and yang, good and evil. One could not exist without the other as they were complementary and in love. While one was clumsy and mischievous, the other was serious and attentive. The shivers that ran through their bodies at each contact, the softness of their lips united to each other, their simple look that united with tenderness or all the love in the world stood without needing to say even a single word. Their long nights staring at the stars wondering where Krypton and Tess could stand, wiping Kara's eyes when her tears were flowing because she missed her planet.

These two, no doubt that no one would ever be able to separate them as long as one doesn't go without the other. Each one of them would certainly prefer to die, rather than live in a world where the other would not exist.

Kara was still asleep in Tess' arms when she woke up first, watching her beloved sleep tenderly, picking up a blonde lock that fell before her eyes, which she passed behind her ear and rose again and again with each breath.

Then she decided to surprise him and prepare him breakfast. She got dressed in a hurry, took some money and went to the bakery to get some croissants. Imagining the sulky face of her beauty and noticing that she probably wouldn't have enough, her appetite being almost as insatiable as her love for her, this thought made Tess smile tenderly when she was pulled from her thoughts by a limousine stopping at her height.

A tinted window opened to let the head of an elderly man of good bearing, with a skillfully carved goatee running across his face.

- Miss Mercer? said the stranger who had remained in the car.

- Yes?

- I have read about your work in genetics, you are very precocious in this field despite your young age and visibly better than many scientists with decades of experience.

- Uh thank you very much just stammered Tess.

- Here is my card, I would love to discuss your future professional Miss Mercer.

Tess took the card, but on it there was only an address and a phone number, no name, Tess wanted to tell the man, but the man had already rolled up his window and left as quickly as he had come, to the great surprise of Tess who had not understood everything and wondered what the man wanted.

But her thoughts were soon gone when she saw Kara's cheerful face and she opened her eyes when she woke up and saw all those crescents on the tray next to her bed. However, she was a little slack when she saw that she would surely have after eating all those croissants, which made Tess laugh and took a cushion in the face of her beautiful who asked her to stop laughing.

- You know, if you're still hungry afterwards, I think we can always manage," said Tess mischievously, gently running her tongue over her lips in a sensual way, which made Kara swallow and almost choke on the croissant she already had in her mouth.

But she winked at him and promised to think about it.

Tess: - Something strange happened to me earlier when I went to get your croissants.

Kara: - Kara: - What? Didn't anything happen to you at all?!

Tess: - Kara calm down, nothing happened to me, don't worry, but a man stopped in front of me in a limousine and handed me his card saying he was interested in my work in genetics, but on the card there's only his number and an address.

Kara: - Yes, it's weird. Maybe you should call him and see what he wants you to do, right?

Tess: - Yes, but not now, and she ripped off the crescent in Kara's hand and kissed it passionately, which surprised Kara but was far from displeasing her.

When Alex arrived she found the college room in a nameless brothel, and she was about to yell at her sister when she saw her sister's shirt was inside out, and she couldn't help but sighing, thinking that the two of them would never stop...

Two days later, while Kara was in class and Tess was two hours floaty, her genetics teacher being absent, she decided to call the number on the card given to her by this mysterious man. And they made an appointment to meet at the address given.

When she arrived and went inside, they were all very luxurious, and for a moment she thought that some people had nothing else to do but spend money on a decoration that only served to impress people.

- Sit down," said a man who saw Tess, "Mr. Luthor will see you now?

Mr. Luthor swallowed her up inside. She wanted to leave again, she only knew that name from Superman, Kara's cousin, and that he had tried to kill him again and again without ever succeeding.

But a voice prevented her from leaving.

Lionel Luthor: - Hello, Tess, my name is Lionel Luthor and I have something important to tell you.

Tess: - Why should I listen to a Luthor? You and your family have been trying to kill Superman for years, I have nothing to say to you and I don't want anything to do with you.

With that, Tess wanted to leave but she swallowed when she heard Lionel's words that paralyzed her on the spot.

Lionel Luthor: - Well then, young lady, don't you say hello to your own father?

Tess: - You're not my father.

Lionel: - Your biological father is. It took me a long time to find you after your... mother left with you in her arms and never looked back.

And he told her his whole story. Lionel had had an affair with a woman he really cared about, but she was horrified by the Luthor's actions. And so, when she found out she was pregnant, she wanted to run away with the child. And for the child's safety, she gave it up for adoption to a loving family and then committed suicide so that Lionel could never know what had happened to the child. But his plan had failed and he had found him a few years ago.

Tess: - What do you mean you found me a few years ago? Did you just meet me?

Lionel: - Well, when I found you, I discovered something very interesting at the same time.

Tess: - What do you mean?

Lionel: - Your friend is, let's say, VERY interesting," he said in a tone that meant he probably knew all about Kara's life and her powers.

Tess made a threat to the man, telling him to stay away from her or she wouldn't hesitate to kill him out of remorse if he hurt her.

Lionel: - I have no intention of killing her, her powers will surely come in handy one day.

Tess was now pale, she didn't speak anymore, no sound dared to come out of her mouth. And so Lionel continued:

- This little green rock, if it hurts her cousin so much, we can assume that it will do as much damage to her. But there is also another rock, kryptonite as you call it, is not only green, silver is also very interesting, it prevents the kryptonians from regenerating and can cause memory problems.

Tess was angry with herself, she was there, in front of this man who clearly threatened the woman she loved, and she couldn't do anything about it because he knew so much about her weaknesses. But she finally said:

- But what do you want from me in the end?!

- To get my daughter back!

- I am not your daughter!

- Of course you are, by the way, the name I gave you at birth is Lena, Lena Luthor.

Tess wanted to leave and slammed the door violently on her way out. It wasn't possible, no, an evil being hadn't just threatened her and the woman she loved, she was in the middle of a nightmare.

Kara and Tess were walking down the street, hand in hand, Tess was still disturbed but she hadn't said anything about her conversation with Lionel Luthor, she wanted to handle it in her own way and try to find a way to counter the Luthor herself.

But while they were sitting on a bench, Tess' head resting on Kara's lap, a man on a motorcycle stopped in the distance, got off, still with a helmet on his head, and pulled out a gun in the direction of Kara and Tess. Tess got up immediately and Kara went at super speed in front of her beloved to protect her, but she caught a silver kryptonite bullet in her chest, causing her to immediately collapse to the ground under the frightened eye of Tess who could do absolutely nothing to stop her.

Kara woke up several hours later, on a military hospital bed, only her mother and Alex were near her, she had a huge headache and took her head in her hands to make sure she was alive.

Alex then asked how she was doing and she told him that she was fine, not to worry. Then Alex finally asked her:

- Where is Tess Kara?

- Where is Tess? Kara answered with surprise.

- I don't know any Tess," she says, falling back to sleep immediately before the stunned eyes of her mother and Alex.
