Chapter Nine: Uncle Ron
Early the next morning, Natalia awoke to use the bathroom and threw on Ryan's shirt. When she was finished in the bathroom, she snuggled up with Ryan and fell back asleep. Two hours later, Natalia awoke again but to the sound of knocking on Ryan's front door and she whispered to him, "Babe, there's someone at the door." Ryan gets out of bed and throws on his boxers to go answer the door.
At the door, Ryan found his Uncle Ron. Ryan asks, "Uncle Ron, what are you doing here?" Uncle Ron replies, "The water company is doing some maintenance in my area and I don't have any water. I was going to call you, but I lost my cellphone, and I didn't think to use the house phone before I left. Ryan tells Uncle Ron, "Come on in. My guestrooms are always prepared for guests. Also, I have another guest but she's staying in my room. You go organize yourself and we'll make breakfast." Both walk upstairs and Uncle Ron enters one of the two guestrooms while Ryan heads to his room.
When Ryan gets inside his room, Natalia is not there but he hears the shower, so he knows she is in the bathroom. He goes in there and calls out to Natalia, "Hey Talia, you almost done?" Natalia responds, "Yeah. Who was at the door?" Ryan tells her, "I'll tell you when you are finished showering." While Natalia finished up in the shower, Ryan brushed his teeth and got ready to take his shower. Natalia came out of the shower wrapped in a towel and asked, "So, who was at the door?" "My Uncle Ron. He doesn't have any water at his place, so he came here. He's staying in one of the guestrooms. I told him I had another guest and that we would prepare breakfast," said Ryan. Natalia replies, "Okay, I'll head downstairs when I'm finished changing." When she says this, she kisses him before he goes into the shower.
After Natalia changes her clothes, she goes to the kitchen and gets out eggs and bacon along with some bread to make toast. As she puts the bacon in the pan, she hears Uncle Ron greeting her, "Hello. You must be Ryan's other guest. I'm his Uncle Ron." Natalia turns around to introduce herself, "Hi. My name's Natalia." Before anything else could be said, Ryan entered the kitchen and spoke up, "I see you've met my Uncle Ron, Talia." While Natalia takes care of the bacon, Ryan gets another pan to cook the eggs and Uncle Ron decides to make coffee. When everything is prepared, Ryan sets the table while Natalia brings the food and Uncle Ron organizes the coffee for everyone. They ate breakfast while Uncle Ron asked how they got together and when they were finished, Uncle Ron asked, "Don't you guys have work?" Ryan answers, "Not today. We were very lucky this week and last week. Talia and I both got the same days off."
After breakfast, Uncle Ron tells them, "Well, I've got to be at the country club in half an hour. I'll see you two later." "Bye," says Natalia and Ryan simultaneously. As Uncle Ron left, Natalia and Ryan clear the table and washed the dishes. When they were finished, Natalia asked Ryan, "So what do you want to do today?" "We could stay here, watch television and make some lunch, plus dinner later," replies Ryan. Natalia says, "Yeah. That sounds good," She wraps her arms around Ryan's neck and kisses him, then she whispers in his ear, "Let's take this to your room." They spent their time until lunch in Ryan's room. They made chicken burgers for lunch and watched television. Some time around two in the afternoon, some books on genetics and evidence processing arrived for Ryan through postal delivery. They went through the books together for a few hours and then packed them away.
