CHAPTER 5

After some brief discussion, and the arrival of Lighting Ear, Poppins, and Shining Heart, the oldest the apprentice, they all lay next to the Starpiece.

"Salmon Fur, don't be afraid. This is just a test to see if you can become a healer, medicine cat, or warrior, whichever suits you better" said Poppins soothingly.

"Yeah. It'll be allllright, young'n" purred Myrtle. Nervously, Salmon Fur nestled up against the smooth, chilled metal, and closed his eyes.
