"I'll make your wish come true."
Nasa Yuzaki awoke suddenly, the dream fading from his memory. Rubbing his eyes, he sat up in his small bed in his small apartment. The same dream had occupied his nights for the past week, all he could remember each time he woke up was a sense of missing something important.
"How long has it been since I last saw her?" Thinking back to that fateful night, the night his life had almost ended. The super cute girl who had caught his eye and had never left his thoughts. Yet again cursing himself for not getting her name, Nasa got out of bed to get ready for another day of work.
Ever since he had gotten out of the hospital, he had worked multiple jobs that would have given the best chance to run into her again. Yet after these two long years, he was no closer to his goal. "Maybe I'm just wasting my time, she probably doesn't even remember me anymore."
"I'll date you, but only if you'll marry me."Looking back, the more Nasa thought about it the more he thought how ridiculous the whole situation was. She probably was just weirded out by this bruised and bloodied boy chasing after her again and again. "She probably moved away to make sure to never run into me again."
Looking in the small mirror in his bathroom, Nasa carefully did his hair. Even if there was no chance of seeing her again, it wouldn't be good to run into her looking like a mess. Satisfied with his quick fix, he grabbed his lunch (the hot pot that Nasa had made every single day) and headed off to work.
Today was one of his days making deliveries, and he was ever watchful for the mysterious Kaguya. Since he never knew her name, he simply referred to her as Kaguya as that was who she had reminded him. Perhaps she really had gone back to the moon, and unfortunately none of his jobs made deliveries that far.
"I wonder if I could find a job with N.A.S.A to make a delivery to the moon." Idle thoughts like that typically filled his head whenever he worked one of his delivery jobs. Yet he had made the decision to become the first man to go beyond the speed of light, and his stubbornness prevented him from taking the easy route.
A sudden breeze started up, and a scent filled his nose as it blew by. A scent he hadn't smelled since that night. Quickly looking around, he was once again disappointed as usual. No one in the crowd around him had the trademark red hair that was imprinted into his soul.
A sigh escaped his lips, and he continued onward though for only for a moment. The crowd had built up to the point that moving forward had become temporarily impossible. A short blonde girl and her grandmother stood directly in front of him, that familiar scent coming from them.
Maybe she had changed her hair color? But as quick as he had the thought, he discarded it. He had remembered that night vividly, everything that he was conscious for. The girl who had captured his heart had been short, but taller than the girl in front of him. Nasa simply chalked up the scent to a perfume, and seeing that the crowd was letting up moved forward. If he had only stayed, he would have heard things that would have changed his life.
"She isn't here grandmother, she must have figured out the bracelet had a chip in it." Chitose looked over to the older woman next to her. Tokiko simply nodded, though she didn't seem upset by that fact. Chitose however had many feelings about not being able to find Tsukasa.
She had disappeared that morning, simply taking a few belongings and leaving without saying a word to the young girl. Tokiko had come along to find her, yet despite the years Chitose had spent with her, none of the usual urgency was present.
"Yes she must have pawned it off, or perhaps simply left it laying around somewhere." Those were the first words Tokiko had spoken in hours. Chitose looked up, hoping to see some emotion that was lacking in the older womans words butt she was quickly disappointed.
"Are you not worried about her? What if she's hurt or worse?" Tokiko simply smiled. "You know as well as I do that simply isn't possible for our precious Tsukasa. If she left, she would have had a good reason to leave. And if she returns, I will simply be happy that she decided to come back home."
Tokiko turned and began walking back to the car that they had left a few streets over. Looking back, she saw that Chitose was still standing there. "Come along, we've done all we can for now. It's up to her now." Chitose grumbled but followed, vowing to not give up as easily as her adopted grandmother.
