Miss Abarin came up with a sneaky plan to obtain Yukin and his elemental cards. Upon accusing him of ridiculing LID and claiming to want redemption, the two schools must duel each other. If True Duel loses, it falls into LID ownership and Yukin will be transferred to LID. Yukin is in the first duel and he's against Seymore.
"Well, Yukin, are you ready to face defeat?" Seymore said.
"Bring it on, and wipe that cocky grin of your face. Don't act like you've already won." Yukin said.
"Come on, Yukin!" Nathan cheered as everyone watched from outside the duel field.
"You can take him!" Augustus and Ally cheered.
"I sure hope so. Otherwise, we can kiss our school goodbye." Zoey said.
"Don't worry. Yukin's never let us down before." Siegrain said.
"Are you ready?" Seymore said.
"Let's duel!" Both said as they were about to start with 4000LP. As they were about to begin, Renji let himself in, but he kept himself hidden.
"I think I'll start this off." Seymore said. "I'll start by activating Emergency Teleport. This spell card allows me to summon a level or lower psychic monster to the field. I summon PSY-Framegear Gamma!" He summoned out his monster and it had 1000atk points. "That's not all. I activate my Psychic-Borg spell card. This allows me to summon a psychic-borg token. However, I must sacrifice a hundred life points. The more life points I sacrifice, the higher the level it becomes."
"So you're getting rid of your own life points?" Yukin said.
"That's right. I believe in gaining a lot by losing very little." Seymore said. "I choose to pay 500LP for it to become a level five." A robot with a brain in a glass case came out with 0atk points and it was level five like he said as his life points dropped to 3500.
"How does a monster with no attack points that's level five suppose to help this guy?" Zoey said.
"I think we're about to find out." Siegrain said.
"I now tune my level two PSY-Framegear Gamma with my Psychic-borg token!" Gamma broke into circles and came around his token. His token broke into five stars with a beam shooting through. "I synchro summon PSY-Framelord Zeta!" Both monsters were gone and in their place came a new monster with 2500atk points. "I place one card facedown to end my turn."
"So this guy can synchro summon?!" Yukin said.
""Synchro summon"? What is that?" Alyssa said.
"Synchro summoning is when you take a monster that's called a tuner monster and you add it's level with the level of other non-tuner monsters to bring out a more powerful monster." Soto explained.
"I get it. That's why he wanted that token to be level five." Zoey said. "How's Yukin going to fight that thing?"
"It's my turn!" Yukin said as he drew his card. "I'll start by activating my Variation spell card! This allows me to summon any monsters from my hand just as long as all their attributes are different from each other. I summon out Swordfish Fencer, Grapple Possum, and Light Ray Scorpion!" He summoned out his three monsters with them having 800, 900, and 100atk points. "I now combine the forces of light with the forces of dark! Come together as one!"
"Here it comes." Miss Abarin said as all of them watched carefully as light and darkness came around his scorpion and possum and they came together.
"I elemental summon a chaos attribute! I elemental summon Phantom of the Cosmos!" Yukin summoned out his phantom with it having 2400atk points.
"So that's elemental summoning. It looks impressive, but it's weaker than Zeta." Seymore said.
"That might be true, but that's about to change." Yukin said. "I activate Swordfish Fencer's ability!"
"Yes! With that ability, that Zeta is going to get weaker by 800. That will make it weak enough for his phantom to destroy it!" Siegrain said.
"I don't think so!" Seymore said. "I activate PSY-Framelord Zeta's ability! Since your little fencer is in attack mode and was special summoned, I can banish it and Zeta until my standby phase!" Zeta unleashed electricity and both monsters vanished.
"They're both gone?!" Zoey said.
"That just leaves him wide open for a direct attack!" Siegrain said.
"I wouldn't be so sure." Soto said as he and Yukin could see he was planning something.
"What gives? Why would you leave yourself open for a direct attack?!" Yukin said.
"You're about to see. I activate Dimension Overload!" Seymore said. "Since one of my psychic monsters was just banished, I can destroy one of your monsters. Say goodbye to your phantom!" His trap blasted an electrical blast and destroyed Yukin's phantom.
"You should know that elemental cards don't go to the graveyard when they're destroyed, they go back to the extra deck." Yukin said.
"Who cares? You're left with no monsters now." Seymore said. Yukin groaned with annoyance, but there's not much more he can do.
"I end my turn." Yukin said.
"My turn!" Seymore said as he drew his next card. "Since we've reached my standby phase, both of our monsters come back." Both monsters came back on the field, but it didn't look good for Yukin. "I'll start by activating my Unstable Teleport spell. This allows me to summon a psychic tuner monster to the field. However, if I use it and another monster for a synchro summon, they're both banished. The monster I choose to summon is PSY-Framegear Alpha!" He summoned out another PSY-Framegear with it having only 500atk points. "Now, I tune my level one PSY-Framegear Alpha with level seven PSY-Framelord Zeta!" The same process happened again, but it was one circle with seven stars. "I synchro summon PSY-Framelord Omega!" A more powerful monster came out with it having 2800atk points.
"This isn't looking good!" Zoey said.
"One good hit from that thing and Yukin's in trouble!" Siegrain said. This wasn't looking good for Yukin.
"Omega, take out his pathetic little monster!" Seymore ordered. His monster unleashed psychic energy blasts. Yukin tried running from the blasts, but Swordfish Fencer ended up getting blasted and Yukin was blown through a set of ruins from that attack.
"Is he okay?!" Zoey said as his friends were worried he might be hurt. Yukin's life points dropped to 2000, but he was able to stand back up.
"Down in the dirt where you belong." Seymore said as he walked over.
"We're dueling in a sky field, genius." Yukin said.
"Mocking me? That's really all you can do." Seymore said. "Outside of your elemental summoning, I don't really see anything special about you."
"I'm starting to think everyone from LID is arrogant till they get pummeled." Yukin said as he got back on his feet.
"Sticks and stones, Yukin. It's what you get for sending your goon to attack Sylvester. It's your turn now." Seymore said as he placed a card facedown.
"For the last time, I had nothing to do with that! Here goes!" Yukin said as he drew his card.
"Yes. Since it's now your standby phase, Omega's ability activates! If I have a card that was removed from play, it goes to my graveyard. I'm moving PSY-Framelord Zeta to my graveyard." Seymore said.
"In his graveyard? Why would he move it there?" Augustus questioned.
"The only reason he would do that is because he needs it there for something he's got planned." Soto said. "We'll see if Yukin can handle it."
"I'll start by summoning Card Lizard!" Yukin said. He summoned out an orange frill lizard with cards for frills and it had 1000atk points. "Next, when Card Lizard is summoned to the field, I get to draw two cards!" He drew his two cards and it seemed like they could help. "I'll place two cards facedown and end my..." "Not so fast!" Seymore interrupted.
"I play my trap: Wicked Rebirth!" Seymore said. "I pay 800LP to bring back a synchro monster that's in my graveyard! Come back PSY-Framelord Zeta!" Zeta returned to the field and was back to full power as Seymore's life points dropped to 2700. "You now have double trouble."
"You've got to be kidding me." Yukin said. "Well, I'll just end my turn."
"Looks like you were betting on those two cards and they let you down." Seymore taunted.
"Don't be so sure." Yukin said. "This duel isn't over quite yet."
"I say it is!" Seymore said as he drew his next card. "This duel is over! Omega, attack his lizard and bring me one step closer to victory!" Omega was unleashing large amounts of psychic power and it looked like that this could be the end.
"I activate Average Scoring! This trap card prevents my monster from being destroyed and I only take half the damage!" Yukin said. A barrier came around his lizard and it was protected, but Yukin still lost life points as he got blasted and his life points dropped to 1100.
"You may have stopped that attack, but you can't stop this one!" Seymore said. "Zeta, attack!" Zeta unleashed his attack and the same thing happened as Yukin's life points dropped to 350. This wasn't looking good at all.
"It looks like this round goes to us." Miss Abarai said. "I'm sure you all will get better at LID, assuming you can even enroll." She might have thought this duel was over, but Renji didn't think so.
"Average Scoring has another effect." Yukin said. "For each monster that attacked, we both get to draw a card. Since two monsters attacked, we both draw two cards."
"Not that I need them. This duel is almost over." Seymore said as they both drew their cards. "I know you're planning to elemental summon to save you, so let me give you a hint. Don't bother. Zeta and Gamma have the same ability."
"Same ability?" Zoey said.
"The both can get rid of a monster that was special summoned." Siegrain said. "Elemental summoning is a special summon. Yukin's in real trouble if he can't attack this turn. It looks like he might lose two monsters"
"That's entirely true." Soto said. "Wicked Rebirth negates a monster's special ability. Yukin only needs to worry about Omega's ability, but we'll see if he can still turn this around."
'This isn't looking good, but I don't care. I know there's a way to turn this around.' Yukin thought as he looked at his hand. 'If I can draw the right card, I can win this. If not, it really is over.' Yukin was putting all his hopes on this last draw. He drew his card and it was a spell card called Starry Alignment, just what he needed.
"What are you smirking about?" Seymore said.
"You're about to find out. First, I'm activating a spell card called Revival Pass!" Yukin said. "This spell card allows me to take one spell card and one monster from my graveyard and puts both in my hand. I'm taking Swordfish Fencer and Variation." The two cards came out of his graveyard and were added to his hand. "In fact, I think I'll activate Variation right now!"
"Summon all the monsters you want. It's not going to change a thing." Seymore said.
"We'll see about that. I'm summoning out three monsters." Yukin said. "I summon Swordfish Fencer, Change-o Chameleon, and Astrological Seeker!" He summoned out his two known monsters with 800 and 1100atk points. His new monster was a white-dressed magician. He also had 1200atk points.
"Nice try, but I'm activating Omega's ability! Since Astrological Seeker is a level five and your strongest, I think I'll get rid of him!" Seymore said.
"I don't think so." Yukin said. "I activate Savior's Rays! When you activate an effect that would remove a monster from the field, this trap stops it!" A light shined on Omega and blocked the effect.
"No!" Seymore shouted.
"It's about to get worse for you." Yukin said. "I now fuse the forces of fire with the forces of water! Come together as one!" Fire and water came around Swordfish Fencer and Draw Lizard with them coming together. "I elemental summon a sapphire attribute! I summon Sapphire Serapho!" Sapphire Serapho came out with 2500atk points.
"Interesting." Renji said as he can see where this was going.
"This duel is over." Yukin said. "I activate Starry Alignment! This spell card can only be used when there's a spellcaster on my field. This increases the attack points of all my monsters by the grand total of their levels times a hundred."
"Wow. Do the math." Nathan said. "Serapho is level seven, Astrological Seeker is level five, and Change-o Chameleon is level three. That equals fifteen. That means they're going to get 1500atk points."
"Oh no!" Seymore said as he didn't like this as their attack points rose to 4000, 2700, and 2600.
"Sapphire Serapho, attack Omega with Spiral Blue Flame!" Yukin said. Serapho unleashed the attack and blasted Omega with it. "When Serapho attacks a monster, the damage is doubled!" Seymore got hit hard as his life points dropped to 300. "Astrological Seeker, your turn with Starlight Revelation!" His magician called on a large needle and fired a laser at Zeta. Zeta got destroyed and Seymore's life points dropped to 100. "Change-o Chameleon, end this!"
"Hold on!" Seymore said, but it was too late. Change-o Chameleon launched its tongue and twirled Seymore around with it until it tossed Seymore into the real wall and he lost the last of his life points. That means that Yukin won.
"Yukin won!" The kids cheered.
"Awesome!" Siegrain said.
"He's amazing." Zoey said.
"Yeah! That's my boy!" Eli cheered as all of them were thrilled Yukin got the first win. Zoey was happy about this, but her mind kept going back to what happened.
'I really am happy for Yukin, but this wouldn't be happening if it weren't for that guy.' Zoey thought. 'I just hope we can pull this off.' Zoey is having doubts and is distracted. At a time like this, that's something they can't afford.
