A: "Robert, it's getting late and you are way past visiting hours. You should probably head home."

R: "No no no, I'm staying. I can sleep here, on the couch."

A: "You're not gonna get any sleep on that small couch." She chuckled. "and besides, you gotta go to work tomorrow?"

R: "Oh crap! I - I completely forgot, I wanted to take some time off, but I didn't assign anyone to cover for me."

A: "So you want to sit here and watch me?" She chuckled a little again. "Come on, go home get some sleep and then safe some lives tomorrow or well in your case do the paperwork. You can come by after, I'll still be here then. Or maybe I'm even home by then."

R: "You're really gonna annoy dr. Pierce so long until she discharges you, won't you?" He tuck a strand of hair that had fallen out of her bun behind her ear.

A: "Meee? Never!" She smiled at him.

R: "Hmhm, sure. Alright I'll go but on one condition." Andy looked at him questioning while he got up from his place on her bed. "You'll call me after dr. Pierce was here in the Morning and Tell me everything and you stop begging for her to discharge you when she doesn't think it's a good idea."

A: "So two."

R: "What?"

A: "Two conditions then."

R: "Well yea but - okey stop distracting me so you Dont have to make a promise."

A: "It was worth a try."

R: "Hm, sounds like I am staying here then." He sat back down on the bed.

A: "alright, alright, I promise." She threw her hands in the air to show she was surrendering.

R: "Andy..." he didn't believe a word she said.

Andy took his hand and looked him in the eyes.

A: "Robert, I promise I'll call and I'll promise I'll do whatever she tells me to okey?"

R: "Okey, I love you." He leaned forward and kissed her soft lips.

A: "I love you too and now get going."

As Robert got off the bed she slapped on his butt and he laughed walking out of the room.

Now this, this was more of the Andy he knew. Her energy was coming back and Robert could see in the light returning to her eyes that she was doing better. Nonetheless working a shift while his wife was in the hospital would not be the easiest.

Before he made his way home he asked a nurse if Dr. Pierce was still here. The nurse called her and after a little waiting she came.

P: "Sullivan, how can I help."

R: "Uhm it's just, I know she's doing better but I am on shift tomorrow and just in case - in case things change, I was wondering if someone could contact me."

P: "Of course we will. she's doing fine and we are just waiting for her bp to go down more to release her."

R: "Okey, thank you. Good night."

P: "Good night."

He trusted Andy but just in case things got out of control, he wanted to be sure that someone would tell him.

P: "Good morning, how are you feeling Andy?"

A: "I feel great and very ready to get home."

P: "You do?" She raised her eyebrows sceptical.

A: "I- fine you caught me."

P: "Well looking at your stats that wasn't very hard. Bp went up a little again, your Temperature is back. We are still waiting on your blood results from earlier. For now I just wanna monitor you closely before we get the results."

A: „okey."

P: „Dr. Schmitt will check in on you every 30minutes."

A: „Well, that will be fun. How come he's always on your service?"

P: „Don't tell him I said that but he's actually not that bad." she smiled and walked out.

Andy kept turning her phone around in her hand. She couldn't stop fidgeting. Roberts Shift had started by now and she promised to call and she definitely would but she couldn't figure out what to tell him.

If she would tell him she felt worse and that she had a temperature again he would probably drop everything and drive to the hospital like a maniac when there really was no reason to worry. But could she really lie to her husband? He didn't deserve that either.

Slowly she unlocked her phone, got on Roberts contact and pressed on the call button, praying he was on a call an wouldn't pick up but luck wasn't on her site that day.

R: „Hey, good morning! How are you feeling? I was waiting for your call."

He had been on edge all morning waiting for her to call and he was close to just calling her but he wanted to show he trusted her as she promised to call him and she did.

A: „Good morning. So, uhm my temperature went up a little again but I still feel alright and we are just waiting on my blood results from this morning."

R: „It went up again? How could that happen, the antibiotics were working..."

A: „I'm sure they still are and it's just a Little Wave."

R: „I can come if you want me too, I'm sure bishop would be okay with it."

A: „No you don't have to. I'm good, I'll just be watching reality tv all day long and you hate that anyways."

R: „That is very true, I don't understand how you can watch that. Okey, but uhm call me if there are news okay? Or text me when I don't pick up in case I am on a call then."

A: „I will, now go save some kittens. I love you."

R: „I love you too."

When Andy hung up the phone she reached for the remote and turned on the Tv but she fell asleep soon after.

When she woke up by Dr. Schmitt coming in she only felt worse, her muscles ached and she was exhausted. She spent the day watching tv and sleeping and it seemed each time she woke up from a nap she felt a little worse.

Robert At work:

He had been able to get some work done in the morning but he hadn't heard from Andy in about 6 hours and even though that must mean there were no news it unsettled him. That also meant no good news.

He picked up his phone and called her but she didn't pick up. He sent her a quick text asking how she's doing.

Robert sat at his desk and hurried his face in his hands. There wasn't much to do in a hospital so why didn't she answer. Sure she could be sleeping but he couldn't stop going through worst case scenarios.

Maya: "Hey Uhm Chief, are you okay?"

Robert looked up to see maya standing in his door.

R: "Yea I'm good. It's just been a while since I heard from Andy."

M: "I'm sure she's fine sir. It's Herrera and the hospital would have called if something changed."

R: "Yea you are right."

M: "I texted her earlier, saying I would come by but she insisted I don't since it's not a big deal and she will be home soon. Stubborn as always."

R: "That she is." He chuckled a little and then his phones teen lit up with a new message.

Andy: hey, sorry I didn't pick up, I was sleeping. When will you finish work?

R: "That was her." He waved his phone.

M: "She's alright?"

R: "Yea sounds like it."

M: "Great, i should get back to work then." And she left in a hurry.

Robert: I will be done in about an hour and then come to you right away. Is that okay.

Andy: Yes of course. I don't wanna hide anything from you and you will find out soon anyways so, numbers are not improving. Please finish work first and drive carefully.

Robert: I'll be there in 30.

Hospital:

She read his last message and she wanted to roll her eyes about it but it also made her smile a little inside. He really wanted to be by her side.

30 minutes were over soon and Robert came through the door. He didn't need her to say anything because he could see it in her eyes that she was doing a lot worse again. He walked around the bed and sat down on it, taking her hand in his and kissing it.

R: "When is Dr. Pierce coming again?"

A: "She should be here soon. Schmitt was here a few minutes ago saying he'll be back with her soon."

R: "Okey. You'll be fine"

A: "That's what I keep telling you." She forced a little smile on her face but even that seemed to be exhausting.

Dr P: "Oh hey, you are back too." She said looking at Sullivan. "Okey Andy, can you sit up I would like to take a listen."

A: "Didn't he just do that." She nodded in Schmitt's direction.

P: "well he's an intern, he makes mistakes so I need to double check."

Andy sighed and started to sit up which was kinda exhausting for her and Robert could see that. He put one hand on her back to support her and with the other he still was holding her hand.

Dr Pierce listened to her heart and lungs.

P: "Okey you can lay back down. I can hear a heart murmur so we are gonna try a different medication. I'm gonna have to place a picc line for that. Schmitt, go get a cart."

R: „What's that again?"

P: „It's just an access going from her upper arm right in front of her heart, so the medication will be there faster."

A: „That sounds fun." she said sarcastically.

P: „I'm gonna give you some medication now, they'll make you pretty sleepy so you shouldn't feel much."

A: „Okey."

P: „So medication is in, Dr. Schmitt, hand me the needle please."

Andy was half asleep and only had her eyes half open but her head laid in Roberts direction. He took her hand and squeezed it held it In both his hands. Andy was very out of it but When dr. Pierce inserted the thin tube he could feel her hand slightly squeeze his.

He didn't know what to say so he kissed her hand. The squeezing got less and less and when he looked up he saw she had closed her eyes completely.

P: „Don't worry, she just fell asleep. She's been sleeping a lot today anyways. Well the line is in and all Hooked up. The new medication should improve her stats in a few hours. Dr. Schmitt will keep checking in and update me."

R: "Thank you Dr. Pierce."

After she left he put down Andy's hand so he could get changed. He wanted to get here as fast as possible so he hadn't changed out of his uniform, but he brought some more comfortable clothes with him from the station.

He changed quickly and laid down next to Andy and put his arm around her. He could sleep now too but he didn't dare too. Instead he kept his eyes on her bp, waiting for it to go down.
