Sound was fast asleep inside of his tent, his Pokemon were in a little pile, and then there was me and Scarlet. The two of us were cuddled up by the campfire, the Ninetales was fast asleep, but I was still wide awake. Would being a trainer's Pokemon be all that bad? Sound is a pretty nice trainer, and his Pokemon weren't too bad either.
Could I really leave Scarlet behind though? She's been with me for almost two months… the memories I had of my old world were slowly starting to fade from my mind. I could remember some details such as I had a friend, a dog, and a mom but the memory of them was blurry.
Was I really going to be a Houndour for the rest of my life? Would I be fine with leaving this world when I'm finally presented with a way back? Instead of dwelling on that thought for much longer, I decided to focus on what was happening right now.
The moonlight made it a bit difficult to sleep, "having trouble falling asleep?" Scarlet was staring at me, how does she know? The Ninetales was fast asleep a second ago, "yes I am…" in an instant I was asleep.
Scarlet's POV=
I used to Yawn to put the Houndour to sleep, while I did feel a bit guilty for doing it, it did the job. He was asleep, which was good, perhaps I should do this more often when he can't seem to sleep. Raon's sleeping form buried itself deeper into my fur, I gave a small chuckle, and then laid my head on my paws. It was about time I got back to sleeping, "goodnight Raon."
My nose was plagued with the smell of bacon, the human we were traveling with was likely making himself breakfast, so I opened my eyes. The sun was shining brightly, "good mornin' Ninetales," Sound didn't know my name, which was fair, I couldn't tell him it, so I dismissed him calling me "Ninetales." wasn't the first time I was referred to by that.
Sound patted me on the head after saying good morning, "how'd you sleep?" I let out a quiet bark and yawned. He ruffled my fur again before going back to cooking breakfast.
I looked down at Raon, he was still fast asleep, so I nudged him a few times, "just five more minutes…" he murmured before letting out another snore. With a loud bark right next to his ears, Raon jumped, "I'm up!" he yelped, "good, Sound is making breakfast," as if it was right on queue, the trainer placed two bowls in front of us, "eat up you two." the bowls were filled with regular Pokemon food with a bunch of scrambled eggs, and a few shreds of bacon.
The bigger bowl was likely for me, so I dug in, the Houndour had the same idea, but for the small bowl.
Raon's POV=
This is the first time I've had eggs or bacon in a really long time, even back when I was a human I hardly had them. That didn't mean I hated eggs or bacon, it was the opposite, I loved them, but never had the time in the morning to eat them. So when Sound had given us bowls of Pokemon food with those two things mixed in, it was a real treat for me. His Eevee had dragged her bowl and plopped it down next to us. She then took a bite and swallowed, "so, where are you two going after you part ways with my trainer?"
I shrugged, "I'm just following Scarlet's lead after we end up leaving Sound," I then turned to the Ninetales, "well, I was planning on taking Raon to a nice, isolated area to train him up, so he can defend himself," the Eevee nodded, "so, where are you from?" she said while gesturing to me, "I don't remember, I just remember waking up in the middle of a forest, and then I eventually ended up traveling with Scarlet."
"So you have amnesia?" she asked, "I guess you can call it that," even if I wanted to tell where I truly came from, my memory of it is so blurry that I don't think I even can tell it with much detail.
I took another bite out of my bowl, "do you have a name?" I asked, "of course! My name's Shy!" she pointed at the Pyroar, "her name is Nala," she pointed at the Wartortle, "that's Metsi," then at the Pikachu, "and that's Sparky!" the Pikachu was playfully trying to catch Sound's hand, "nice meeting you Shy," she nodded, "same to you," Shy then quickly finished her meal, then me and Scarlet followed suit.
"Hopefully you two will stay with us," said the Nala, "our trainer seems to like you two for whatever reason, but…" she paused for a second, "if you two try anything, I won't hesitate in killing you two, got it?" Scarlet didn't seem fazed at all, but I was quick to get behind her, "noted," said the Ninetales.
Scarlet's POV=
It was cute to think this Pyroar could do anything to me, I might not be the strongest Ninetales to ever live, but I was about 300 years old. That was plenty of experience, on top of that; Ninetales grow far, far stronger as they get older. If this Pokemon even attempts getting close to me with ill intent, I can easily knock her out.
If this overgrown house cat tried approaching Raon… well, her death will be slow and painful.
