Chapter 9: Three of Cups
Chapter Date: 01/25/21
"Keep your eyes peeled, Izuku." Izuku ironically tore his gaze away from the approaching beach to glance at Kacchan. The blond's shifting eyes and tense posture caused Izuku to tense up himself out of reflexively. "Fuck, don't have a heart attack on me now, I'm just warning that we probably won't be the first ones there."
Izuku tilted his head as they arrived at the heaps of junk. "You already mentioned that some of the Travelers might have skipped class today to come here. So what's so important to note?"
"It's not about the what, Izuku. It's about the who. Specifically, it's about which Travelers." Kacchan's lips upturned. "I can think of a few people who are about to be very happy to see you again."
"…Ah…Maybe, I should head home first, get some…wait…what's-"
"IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIZZZZZZZZZZZZZUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUKKKKKKKKKKKUUUUUUUUUU!"
'This is going to hurt…'
Faster than Izuku her capable of moving, a pink blur flashed past streetlights to collide into his front, taking him and his aggressor to the ground. Landing on his butt, Izuku stared down into jubilant yellow black-sclera eyes. "Hi Mina."
"Oh my god, these past two weeks have been soooo lonely! Today could not get here fast enough!" Pink arms unlatched themselves from Izuku's midsection as they shot into the air. "Kiri and I would've gotten here way earlier, but he had to be all sensible about how it would 'make our parents freak out, especially after the incident'."
"Not very manly to throw me under the bus like that, Mina. Also, what am I, chopped liver?" Izuku looked up from Mina to see another figure appearing beneath the streetlights with two bags on his shoulders. The first thing that Izuku noticed were the red eyes that looked similar to Kacchan's, before catching sight of the pointed teeth and impressively spiked red hair. "Hey Midoriya. Mr. Chariot here!"
"Hey…Kirishima…" Because who else could it be. That said… "Did you dye your hair? I remember Mina telling me it was black."
"Mina, you betrayed me?" Kirishima questioned, looking down at Mina who was steadfastly avoiding her friend's gaze.
"Fuck that nonsense and back up, Shitty Hair. What was that Raccoon Eyes was mentioning about an incident?" Izuku watched the moment that Kirishima turned to face Kacchan, and red eyes met red eyes.
"…Hey Katsuki." Kirishima's tone softened, a look at odds with his cultivated jagged look.
"Don't dodge the question, Eijirou." Kacchan growled, but Kirishima continued beaming at the blond. Eventually, Kacchan's brow unfurrowed. "…Hey Ei."
Kirishima stepped forward and gripped Kacchan in a tight hug, and Izuku's jaw dropped as Kacchan's arms raised slowly around Kirishima. "OH! Don't forget me!" Mina launched herself up and threw her arms around both boys.
"Fuck off, Mina." Despite his gruff tone, the arm around Mina's side told Izuku what he wanted to know.
"Alright! The Bakusquad is almost back together again!" Mina cheered as Kacchan's scowl returned.
"Damnit Pinky, I told you to drop the shitty name already!"
"So Kacchan, who else is in the Bakusquad? Just for reference," Izuku asked, feeling the tug of an uncharacteristic smirk on his face.
Kacchan was about to spit out a reply before Kirishima answered. "Well, we've got Bakubro here, Mina, Me, Denki and Hanta. Jiro is like a part-time member too!"
At the mention of Sero, Izuku couldn't help but stiffen, and judging but the confused looks Mina was giving Kacchan, he had too. "Blasty? Something the matter?"
"None of your business," Kacchan nearly snarled, before meeting Mina's eyes again. "…Fuck, don't give me those eyes…fine, ask me later, or better yet, ask Soy Sauce once you see him. Speaking of, what the hell apparently happened to you two?"
Mina and Kirishima traded looks. "Later."
"FUCK!...Let's just get to the meeting spot." Kacchan began unceremoniously walking forward, seemingly uncaring to the fact that Kirishima and Mina were still attached to him and he was very much dragging their weight along. Blinking at Kacchan's ridiculous strength, Izuku hurried to his feet to catch up with them.
Rounding the corner towards one of the sections that Izuku had spent the last three weeks clearing that had been designated as the rally point, he was pleased to find that they were not the first ones there. Even better, three of the four people present were Travelers that he had already met.
"Hey Green," Kyouka called out with a wave of her jacks, the smile on her face clear to Izuku even at night. Nearby, Mei was fiddling with a device that Izuku would bet was created from the scrap around him, the inventor's passion currently being directed towards a visibly ruffled Shouto.
"-just a prototype, but if we can get at least two equipped, you can achieve an easier thermal equilibrium for smoother simultaneous activation! Oh, hey Zuku! Anyways, in order to properly…calibrate…" Mei turned towards Izuku, blinked as her crosshair eyes zoomed and retraced, gently handed the device to Shouto, and dived for Izuku. "ZUKU!"
More ready this time, Izuku had an easier time catching the impact. Nevertheless, sore muscles and gravity were harsh mistresses, and down Izuku went again into the sand with a soft thump. 'My back won't last through too many more of these…'
"Hatsume, I'm sure Izuku would appreciate it if you didn't further aggravate his muscle fatigue and soreness." Shouto's clipped tone came from above as Izuku glanced up at his friend's blue and grey eyes, which gazed on his own before turning a grinning Mei.
"Sorry Thermostat, it's just a bit of a running thing between Zuku and I, considering that I've already done it before." If Izuku didn't know any better, he would swear that Mei was purposely eliciting the twitches that came from a few of the present Travelers. "Aaaaaanyways, I'll take the prototype back off your hands now, still have some modifications to add before a test run."
Shouto simply dropped the device which plummeted with speed belying its size, but Mei plucked it out of the air with one hand and an ever-present grin. Deciding to avoid immersing himself in said strange interactions for the moment, Izuku turned his attention towards the Traveler present that he had yet to meet, one whose features were a dead giveaway to their identity.
The head of a black bird, likely one of the corvid family, sported red eyes and a yellowish beak upon an otherwise human body. Most telling though was the shadowy form flowing out of the boy's body in an imitation of its companion, with pupiless yellow eyes glowing in the night. Seated beside Kyouka, Tokoyami kept his eyes on Izuku and waited patiently for him to approach.
"Hi Tokoyami, it's really nice to meet you. I'm glad you could make it." Izuku said, extending his hand out. What he did not expect was for Dark Shadow to lunge forth with his claws…before gently grasping Izuku's hand with both of its own. The kind gesture was lost on some of the other Traveler's however.
"DUDE! Give a guy some warning before you let Dark Shadow off the hook, I was about to have a heart attack for Midoriya's sake!" Kirishima clutched his shirt dramatically, a strained smile on his face. Looking around, both Izuku and Kirishima noticed that he was the only one attempting to smile and attempt levity. Kacchan and Shouto had their eyes narrowed and hands half-extended, likely ready to burn the sentient quirk to oblivion. Meanwhile, Mina looked as if she were contemplating whether it was possible to melt living shadow, while Mei's expressions seemed to convey that she had the measures to banish Dark Shadow to the shadow realm rather than the other way around.
"Let's everyone calm down. We all know how excitable Dark Shadow can get at times." Everyone turned to look at Kyouka, who looked blessedly unaffected by the current circumstances. Noting the incredulous stares she was getting, the rocker shrugged. "What can I say? Tokoyami and I have been in pretty frequent contact the past week or so, so I know they've both got things under control."
"Yeah, but Kyouka, it's nighttime!" Mina whisper-yelled. "We all know how risky it is to give Dark Shadow free reign to-"
"I would ask that everyone withhold their judgement until spending adequate time with my partner and I. It is disingenuous to dismiss the dark when you have not yet experienced the light." At that, Tokoyami turned to Izuku. "Midoriya Izuku. I admit that your present state is a form unfamiliar to me. That said, I am greatly pleased that the ails of my timeline have not been pulled to this one."
"Oh, don't play tough, Fumi! He's actually really happy to see you, and so am I!" Dark Shadow added cheerily, and Izuku glanced at Tokoyami, whose feathers looked ruffled.
"Pesky companion! Do not put words in my mouth…" Tokoyami grumbled, but made no effort to refute Dark Shadow's statement. Their words however did intrigue Izuku.
"Umm, Tokoyami, could you tell me what you meant by saying that I looked unfamiliar to you? B-Because if I looked really physically different from birth or something, that's really important because it would make your timeline an outlier." Izuku ignored Mina and Kirishima whispering to Kacchan about what he was talking about, though he did notice Mei tilting her head and cupping her chin.
Tokoyami's red eyes held Izuku's for a moment, before slowing closing as his head dipped slightly. "I apologize for my hastiness Midoriya, but my story must be delayed for another time; it is not one to be frequently repeated."
Izuku couldn't help scratching his cheek. "Is there something exceptionally…bad, about your timeline? Because I won't try and lump everyone's experiences together, but I don't think that any has come back from an objectively good timeline…"
Tokoyami nodded. "It is a tale of great bravery and virtue, but also of immense tragedy and loss. For me, yes…but especially for you, Midoriya."
"I don't typically encourage Fumi's speech habits, but he's right in this case. Our story isn't for the faint of heart." It was sobering that two pupiless eyes alone could convey the severity of said suffering to the Travelers.
"Well, we have over a week, and we have some stubborn fuckers in attendance." The group of eight turned as a group of four approached from behind another trash heap, with Sero in the lead. "The Tokyo Travelers have arrived."
"That…sounds like a bad name for a sports team." Ojiro chuckled, before glancing to the person on his other side. Izuku himself couldn't help but double take at the seemingly floating clothes, and unintentionally stare harder when he realized who it was.
"It's not nice to make a lady feel self-conscious, Izuku." Hagakure's sleeve raised, and Izuku could envision the invisible girl hiding a laugh behind her hand. "And before you ask, I'm not the Fool, so by process of elimination…"
'The Hierophant.' Izuku nodded, something tingling in the back of his mind as the statement sunk in, before his eyes then trailed over to the fourth member of the group, one that he hadn't met before.
'I think I know who this is, but something feels…off.' The boy's tall and muscular physique, along with the neat blue hair and rectangular glasses were a dead giveaway that this was Iida. The plain white button-up shirt and navy blue slacks only added to the straightforward air Izuku had been informed of. But…aspects grated against that conclusion. The shirt's sleeves were rolled up to Iida's elbows, showing off his forearms. Underneath the shirt and pants, Izuku thought he could glimpse the lack of shifting fabric in certain areas. And the boy's posture was tense, but not to the point of rigidity. It wasn't even like Kacchan's, which screamed of eagerness for a fight at times. No, Iida's body seemed to give off the air of preparedness, of the violent variety.
Dark eyes zeroed in on Izuku, and as Iida walked straight towards him Izuku couldn't help but be impressed as his head tilted up towards the taller boy. As Iida raised his arms, Izuku was internally preparing for another reunion with the sand, but expectations were subverted as two large hands clapped onto Izuku's shoulders.
"Midoriya! I am pleased to see that you are well. While I was…unable to save you during my time, you may rest easy with the knowledge that you will be safeguarded from all that would seek to harm you." Iida's hands tightened, but not uncomfortably. "That is a promise."
"Yeah, not to break up the love-fest, but we should probably make sure not everyone is walking right through the main entrance." Izuku perked up as the familiar voice droned out. "It looks pretty suspicious to see a bunch of teenagers heading into a junkyard at night, after all."
"Toshi!" Everyone turned as Hitoshi walked into the clearing from the opposite direction. And with him…
"Hello, everyone! It's the brave and the bold!" Kaminari swept in and wrapped an around around Hitoshi's shoulders. "…Wait, which of us is which?"
"I'm not going to answer that question." Hitoshi replied dryly, lazily shrugging off Kaminari's arm to walk over to Izuku, before glancing around at the groups. "Well, you all are certainly a sight, and my eyes are definitely sore, but you're certainly not a sight for sore eyes."
"Fuck off, Eyebags." Kacchan growled, before nearly getting whacked in the face by Mina's waving arm.
"DENKI! HANTA! Get in here!" Mina shouted, and Izuku could tell Kacchan was digging into his well of patience. Meanwhile, Sero looked uncomfortable at the demand.
"Mina, I don't-"
"Nope, get in here!"
"Raccoon Eyes, just-"
"Nope!"
"For fucks-"
"Nope!"
"Can you say anything except nope?"
"Yup!" With that, Kacchan and Sero both rolled their eyes before Sero approached the group hug and was yanked in Mina, with Kaminari throwing himself onto the pile without preamble. "The Bakusquad is back together!"
"Ba-ku-squad! Ba-ku-squad!" Izuku was smiling ear to ear watching Kacchan surrounded in a bouncing group hug, with three loud Travelers and a begrudgingly smiling Sero trapping him in. "Ba-ku-squad! Ba-ku-"
"Oh heck no! DEKUSQUAD, to arms!" Izuku's brain short-circuited as Ochako literally flew over one of the trash piles before landing on the sand with a soft thump. The casually-clothed gravity user straightened with a grin, before looking around the area. "…Oh, we're still missing Tsu. Well, while we're waiting, IIDA!"
Ochako launched herself at Iida as Izuku looked around at the other Travelers helplessly. "D-Dekusquad? What's…" Izuku looked desperately over at a simultaneously amused and pained Kacchan.
"Wrong person to ask, Izuku." Izuku wordlessly turned to Hitoshi, but the lavender-haired boy silently shook his head in a 'you were not a squad-type of person' manner.
"Chill out, Green. Let's see…" Izuku followed Kyouka's finger over to a joyful Ochako bodily lifting Iida into the air with her hug, with it being ambiguous whether she was using her quirk or not. "There's you obviously, those two, Tsuyu, Todoroki, Hitoshi if you can drag him in, Hatsume if she remembers to interact with human beings, and me."
"KYOUKA!" Mina spluttered, and Hitoshi seemed to be desperately trying to reconcile the possibility. Meanwhile, Shouto and Mei were nodding along sagely. "How could you betray us like that! I even called you a part-time member of the Bakusquad! How did you even join the Dekusquad in the first place?"
"There were some…extenuating circumstances…" Kyouka replied, blushing. "And step off your high horse Mina, I'm betting someone was at least a part-time member of the Dekusquad too, hmm?"
"…I plead the Fifth."
"We're not in America, Pinky!" Mind-blowing connotations aside about having a 'squad' centered around him, not to mention being named after his old 'nickname', Izuku observed the group of now fourteen Travelers come together like members of an old team…which, he supposed they were.
"My, with all the noise, we're certainly in the right place."
"YAOMOMO!" There were at least half a dozen cheers as Momo primly stepped into view holding a box, with Tsuyu next to her carrying what looked like an identical box. And behind them both, a head taller than even Momo, was a boy with spiked brown hair and large lips grinning as he carried two boxes on his shoulders. "SATO!"
"Hey everyone! I hope you're all hungry, because we…" Sato trailed off as he caught sight of something, and Izuku followed his line of sight over to…Kacchan. The muscled boy's eyes narrowed, but seemed to shrug it off. "We picked up some dinner, courtesy of our esteemed Vice Representative!"
"WOOHOO! Three cheers for Yao-"
"Let's try and keep the conversation to a dull roar before we have the police called on us." Hagakure's voice cut through Mina's jubilance as the acid user blushed in embarrassment.
"It would not look good for any of us if we were found as a group in the middle of a scrapyard at night, Kero." Tsuyu bluntly added, and the louder members of the group winced.
"Now, as Sato mentioned, we took a bit of time before coming here to buy some dinner in case some of us have not had the chance to eat yet. Now, all the food is relatively standard, but I made it a point to-"
"I'm sure any food you purchased for us is appreciated, Momo. Let's get those boxes off of your hands." Shouto moved forward, and soon the rest of them were aiding in the effort before a loud crash came from nearby.
Instantly, Izuku watched as this group of teenagers consciously shifted into battle-hardened fighters. Spreading out, all of them wordlessly agreed to cover all vantage points as everyone held their breath. Soft footsteps approached, and from around the corner came…a beat-up table?
The dented piece of furniture was lowered, and pale gray hair, black eyes and a mask appeared. From his angle, Izuku saw four separate hands gripping the four legs of the table, and as the boy caught sight of the veritable ambush that had been set up, another two hands rose up as one waved to the group while the other sheepishly scratched his cheek.
"…I suppose I should have given advance warning. In my defense, you are all very loud and I overheard everyone talking about food, so I brought this over."
"Shouji!" Izuku beamed at finally getting to meet the voice on the other side of the phone, and Shouji's eyes zeroed in on his. The tallest member of the class walked over to where Momo was, softly set the table down in the sand, and walked over to Izuku before encircling Izuku in a very comfortable six-armed hug.
"Hey Boss. It's good to finally see you again." For an absolute powerhouse, both Shouji's words and touch and were gentle as he lowered Izuku, both boys noting that everyone was unabashedly watching the exchange.
"Uhhh, w-why don't we all set up for food?" Izuku stammered, and the mood thankfully relaxed.
Kaminari nodded emphatically. "Yeah, I don't know about the rest of you, but the ride over definitely got me-OH SHIT!" Kaminari jumped about a foot in the air and pointed, and everyone whirled around to the sight in question.
A wide, muscular build lead up to an uneven rock-shaped head. With his square jaw, it was difficult to tell, but the mouth definitely seemed to be smiling as the boy mimicked Shouji's earlier wave.
"Kouda, when the hell did you get here? I didn't hear you at all!" Kirishima exclaimed incredulously, before Kouda raised a hand and pointed at Shouji.
"While everyone was distracted with Shouji." Kouda quietly replied. "I was still noticed."
"Yeah, I heard him coming and thought that everyone knew." Shouji nodded along.
"I noticed him too." Hagakure added.
"I have my earjacks."
"I saw him."
"Dark Shadow relayed the information to me."
"No shit he was coming."
"OKAY, no need to roast a guy! That's not manly at all!" Kirishima shouted mock-defensively, and everyone laughed. Within a few minutes, a few other tables were pulled out of the junk piles by Sato, Kirishima and Kouda, along with instructions by Kacchan to move carefully because "If any of this shit topples, it's only going to make Izuku's job hauling all this stuff out harder, which is going to make my job harder!"
As the boxes were opened and bowls of warm food were pulled out, Momo turned to Izuku. "Oh Izuku, before I forget. I made sure to pick up katsudon, since I know that's your favorite."
"Thanks Momo!" As Izuku leaned over and reached into the box, he felt a distinct wave of aggression, though he could feel it wasn't aimed at him at the very least. Grabbing the katsudon, Izuku straightened and looked around, but everyone looked normal. "Umm…did anyone happen to feel anything weird just then?"
A chorus of no's sounded out before Ojiro pulled Izuku away, citing that it was "better to remove the point of contention from the battlefield." As everyone found various places to sit on either junk or the sand itself, a voice rang out.
"Bonsoir, everyone! My flight has landed and I must report that airplane food is still repulsive." Izuku had to blink to confirm that there were indeed sparkles appearing around the newcomer, most notably around the face sporting a finge of blond hair, indigo eyes and a feminine face. "L'etoile has arrived!"
"Hi Aoyama…okay, I have to ask, are the sparkles a secondary quirk or effect of your naval laser?" Izuku asked curiously, flinching as Aoyama's head swung in his direction.
"Non, mon ami. This is merely the result of my natural charisma, you see?" Aoyama winked for good measure.
"…I still call bullshit."
"KACCHAN!"
"It doesn't matter. C'mon Aoyama, grab a bowl and dig in!" Mina gestured to a space in the sand, and Aoyama moved gracefully towards the rest. Before reaching Mina though, Aoyama turned and kneeled down to face Izuku.
"Mon ami, I always cannot help but admire how dazzling you are. Even with the limited time you had, and the doubtlessly drastic situation you have been placed in, you have risen to the challenge with aplomb. As we move forward, never lose sight of that, compendre?" Izuku felt his face grow warm at the prace, and not trusting himself to choke through his mouthful of katsudon, merely nodded. "Merveilleux!"
"Aww, how did I end up getting here last? I live closer to here than almost all of you!" Everyone turned as Mineta stepped into the area, a fact that was not lost on some people.
"Welcome, Mineta. There is a portion left for you in the box, but I must warn you that any continuance of your…antics will be met with reprisal." Momo stated smoothly, though judging by the clenched fists of many of the Travelers, the kind of reprisal was rather clear.
"Oh come on! I'm from a different timeline than everyone else, just like everyone here! Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty?!" Mineta groaned.
"Again, that's America. Welcome to the law of the jungle…or junkyard, in this case," Kyouka replied with a glance at the junk heaps.
"…Fair. Mark my words though, I'll show you I'm different!"
"Noted." Hitoshi said. "Not believed, but noted."
"I'm guessing, altogether, we're very different from what you imagined of us, huh?" Ojiro questioned to Izuku as everyone settled into their food. Izuku took a moment to gaze around and listen to the various discussions.
"-you had to do what for your final exam? That's crazy!"
"-absolutely horrible. I didn't have to deal with the Commission considering the circumstances, but-"
"That definitely did not happen during my Sports Festival! The matchups-"
"Huh, I guess Bakugo's love of spicy food spans across timelines."
"DAMN RIGHT IT DOES!"
"It is definitely different…" Izuku agreed, smiling softly. "But I think in many ways, it's better than what I could have imagined. I'm just really happy to meet everyone, and that all the Travelers get to be together…well, except for one."
Ojiro nodded, noting Mei and Momo giving Izuku a piercing stare nearby, having heard him. "…I'm glad to hear that."
Eventually, dinner was finished, all related trash was cleaned up, and the tables were gently placed back onto the piles in case of future use.
Which lead to the first task of the esteemed Travelers: sleeping arrangements.
"What do you mean, all the girls are staying together!"
"Mon ami, would it not be more preferable for me to stay with you rather than Mister Grape?"
"Hold on, how come Todoroki and Shinsou get to stay at Izuku's?"
Somehow, despite the planning Izuku and Kacchan had done, this was shaping up to be more difficult than anticipated. And given Kacchan's tenuous grasp on his temper…
BOOM
"SHUT UP!" All conversation momentarily ceased as Kacchan glared at the group. "Now, Izuku and I have been in contact with Yaoyorozu and Iida, and we have already planned on these sleeping arrangements. For whatever shitty contrived reasons you have, I'll handle 'em. All the girls are staying together with Ponytail because the old hag and Auntie Inko would die laughing and die crying respectively if we brought girls back with us. For the guys, we've split everyone up so that there's a balance of quiet people and loudmouths like Dunce Face."
"Oi!"
"Lastly," Kacchan ignored Kaminari as he glanced over at Shouto and Hitoshi, "What's the big issue with Icyhot and Eyebags staying at Izuku's?"
Over a half-dozen pointed looks were sent towards Kacchan, who met each stare incredulously. "…Are you serious? That's what the collective bitch fit is about? Your tug-of-war over-"
"OKAY everyone, let's just calm down here." Ojiro held his hands and tail up peacefully. "Why don't we just do this; Tokoyami and I will swap places with Todoroki and Shinsou. That should solve the issue, right?"
Shouto shook his head. "There is a glaring security issue in case any-"
"Todoroki." Shouji's soft yet firm tone stopped Shouto's argument. "If's it's security you're worried about, Mineta's not bad, Ojiro's no slouch, and trust me when I say that I've got experience protecting Midoriya Izuku. Moreover, you can't tell me that there's much stronger than a controlled Tokoyami and Dark Shadow at nighttime."
"…I still-"
Shouto paused once again as Hitoshi laid a hand on his shoulder. "Let's be fair, man. Reciprocity and all that."
Shouto glared at Hitoshi shrewdly. "With your own position, you would not contest this either? What is your aim?"
"My aim," Hitoshi yawned, "is to get some sleep because most of us have been riding on trains for a while, not to mention planes, boats, and however Yaomomo gets around. Plus, we'll be spending most of the next week mashed up together anyways."
"…Fine."
"Alright then, that's settled. All the girls are staying with Yaomomo. Kaminari, Kirishima, Sero, Sato and Kouda will stay at Bakugo's. Aoyama, Todoroki and Shinsou will be with Iida, which leaves Tokoyami, Mineta, Shouji and I for Izuku. Does anyone have any other problems?" Ojiro's calm tone seemed to be lulling everyone back to normalcy. "Great. Let's tuck in for the night and reconvene in the morning."
As everyone separated and the group of four began following Izuku to his home, Izuku turned to Ojiro. "That was really impressive, Ojiro. I didn't even know what the problem was, and you solved it so calmly and simply."
"One of the skills that I worked on was my presence, both physical and otherwise, and how it gets conveyed to others." Ojiro replied, before a smile appeared. "As for the problem…you'll catch on soon enough. Class 1-A is not exactly well-known for keeping things quiet or secret."
"Clearly you haven't experienced the default response whenever I ask for your stories…"
… … …
Three of Cups: Being appreciated for who you are and appreciating others for being themselves generates its own happiness. A reminder of belonging to a group of like-minded people, with a spirit of mutual support, encouragement and teamwork. Celebrate coming together and others from the past coming back.
A/N: The gang is all here it seems. Not too much progression in terms of chronological days, but the reunion is a pivotal aspect to Golden Week here. Rest assured that I won't be taking another ten chapters on Golden Week alone; the story will continue chugging along. As for the Travelers' stories, I'll admit to being torn. I could go into each individual timeline in depth, but then we'd all be sitting here for weeks on end. Then again, I think each one should get their foundations established for references later on. I'll have to toy around with the balance, but there will be a list for everyone to keep their stories straight, literally and metaphorically.
