Will's P.O.V

When we appeared back at camp, it was early evening. There were a few campers around, but most of them were at campfire. I looked back at Nico who had gone pale and was swaying slightly.

"Infirmary for both of you!"

Nico took a few shaky steps and then tripped. Luckily, I caught him and picked him up. He was in no condition to walk.

When we got to the infirmary, closely followed by Kate, I laid Nico on a bed. He wasn't fading, but his darkness levels were dangerously high. I checked his pulse and took his temperature. He needed rest for now and he had a fever. Kate was standing awkwardly by the door.

"Can I give you a quick check up?"

"Sure."

She came to sit on the cot next to Nico. I took her pulse. It was high and regular, indicating high stress. She was cold, but I knew that was a child of Hades thing, thanks to Nico. Kate seemed fine, just stressed. I guess moving into a new place would be stressful to anyone.

"Are you feeling okay?"

"I'm fine."

"Yep, you're totally Nico's sister."

She smiled. "I'm fine though, really, just a little nervous, I guess."

"If you want, you can sleep here. Nico is not going anywhere for now."

"Thank you, Will."

Kate climbed into a cot and closed her eyes. I sat down on the edge of Nico's bed and I held his hand. I watched the sunset. It was a beautiful one. Blues and golds mixed with the nearly black sky. Stars began to show up.

And then the peace of the evening was broken by Kayla. I let go of Nico's hand quickly, hoping that she didn't see us. I stood and Kayla flung herself at me.

"Jeez, Kayla, I was only away for a day."

"Are you okay? Any injuries?"

"No."

"Are these two okay? Is that Nico's sister?"

"Yes and yes."

"Have you taken your meds?"

"...No."

"Why not?"

"I forgot to pack them."

Luckily, Hazel and Reyna ran in, saving me from Kayla's wrath. She had to bully me into taking my anti depressants and she knew it. Hazel ran to Kate's bedside and looked up a me.

Kayla glared at me. "This conversation isn't over." Then she walked out.

"Their both okay."

Hazel breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank gods. Is this my little sister?"

"Yeah, her name is Kate."

We looked down at her sleeping face. She looked sad as she slept, her face still containing the stress of the day.

Reyna was standing by Nico. "Did he pass out from shadow traveling?"

"No, but he went pale and shook for a while, and when I got him here he fell asleep pretty fast."

"Hazel, let's leave them to rest. They're in good hands."

Hazel nodded and they walked off. As soon as they left, Kayla walked back in and she looked mad. I wasn't going to weasel my way out of this one.

"Kay, I'm sorry, okay? I'll take them tomorrow."

"You'd better."

"Kayla-"

"Look, I don't care if it was an accident. You need to take them."

"It was only one day, and I feel fine."

"That's not the attitude."

"Look, I'm sorry! It won't happen again."

"What's going on here?" Nico was awake and blinking the short lived sleep out of his eyes. "What's Will done now?"

I didn't want Nico to know. He knew I was probably depressed but I didn't want him to find out the other issues like this. Kayla looked uncomfortable too.

"Don't worry Nico. I'm sorry I woke you up." I tried to lighten my tone, but it still sounded monotonous. He didn't buy it either. He raised an eyebrow and looked at Kayla suspiciously. She looked at her shoes to avoid his gaze.

"Deathboy, can I check your vitals?"

"Way to change the subject, Solace."

I took his heart rate and temperature. He was still feverish, but it was easing off. Nico laid down again and closed his eyes. I couldn't tell if he was sleeping or not, but he needed rest.

"Will, I hope this won't happen again."

"Yes, Kayla."

She walked into the supply cupboard. Whenever she was angry or nervous, she would organise. We had pristine cupboards.I slumped in a chair next to Nico's bed, and dozed for a little while, never really sleeping.

Lily's P.O.V

I ran to the infirmary as soon as I heard Will and Nico were back. I hoped I would find one or the other there, as the infirmary was Will's haunt and the two boys were inseparable. If Kate was alive she would be there. If.

It was early morning, so I hoped someone would be there to let me in. I knocked on the door. Kayla opened it.

"Hi Lily. What do you need?"

"Are Nico and Will here?"

"Yes."

"Do they have a girl with them?"

"Kate?"

"Can I see her?"

"Yeah, she just woke up."

Kayla took me into one of the wards. Two beds were occupied. Nico sat up in one, with Will sitting next to him. In the other...

Kate was stretching like a cat. She looked different. Her hair was longer, and her skin was paler, and it was pale before. When she noticed me standing by the door, her hands went straight to the pendant around her neck.

Kate's P.O.V

Lily stood by the door, awkwardly, like I had done last night. I held out my arms to her. She burst into tears and ran to hold me. My beautiful petal was here. She wrapped her arms around my waist, just like she had done before the hellhound, before it all went wrong.

I hugged her tightly and kissed her hair. She took the cat necklace off and put it around my neck. I gave her the lily pendant back. She kept repeating "You're here, you're here, oh my gods."

I laughed. "Missed me petal?"

"Never do that ever again. You scared me."

"Never again." I promised.

"Never again..."
