Eijirou
Eijirou sits idly on the first step in the staircase with Mina in his lap. She's hunched over his phone, trying to curate which pictures to post.
He looks around the living room. Everyone's downstairs celebrating in their own ways. Jirou and Kaminari are playing piano, Yaoyorozu and Todoroki are feeding each other candy from the gingerbread house they're constructing, Midoriya and Tsuyu are on a video call with Tsuyu's family while Uraraka looks on fondly. Bakugou's sitting on the couch by himself with his arms crossed over his chest.
Iida and Camie are nowhere to be seen.
"Cute. Cute. Eh. Cute. No. Delete that one. I look twelve months pregnant there." Mina says, swiping through his camera roll.
Eijirou redirects his attention back to her and blinks down at the photos. "I think you look cute."
Mina recovers the photo and gives it another thought. "I guess I do," she says, leaning in to kiss his cheek.
"Outta my way," Bakugou steps over them on his way upstairs and gives her a dirty look when she tries to snap a picture of them kissing.
Eijirou pulls away, embarrassed.
He's felt kinda guilty for every kiss he's had since they'd arrived. The same way he feels guilty about sexting Mina late at night while Bakugou's in the bed beside his, scowling at the ceiling.
"What's he all grumpy about?" she pouts.
He scratches the back of his head. "I think he's still upset over the other day."
Mina rolls her eyes. "He's so dumb."
"I think he's just lonely."
She looks over at Uraraka and runs a hand through her hair. "I was hoping they'd talk by now."
"I was hoping they'd talk a week ago."
Mina wraps a lock of hair around her finger and sighs. "Well, why don't you go give your boy some good old best friend advice on how to keep his girlfriend happy?"
He frowns. He's literally tried every night since they first fought to get him to make up with her.
"I don't know," he mutters.
She starts running her hand up his arm. "Please? I don't want them to fight on Christmas."
His eyes skim over all the gifts under the tree. He wonders who got who. "Me neither."
She pokes his bicep. "So go."
"I've already tried, Mina." he sighs, "He won't listen to me."
"Well try harder." she says, pressing her nail deeper into his skin. Hardening on impact is a reflex at this point.
He looks on at the party again. They wrapped up dinner a while ago and none of them really celebrate Christmas so there isn't much else to do. Still, he'd like for them all to be downstairs and bored together.
He slaps his palms over his knees as he rises. "Alrighty, then," he says, taking a step up.
"And when you're done," Mina mentions, "Come back downstairs."
He raises a brow at her. "For what?"
"Secret." she winks.
Eijirou blushes slightly on his way up, trying to imagine what's in store for him. He reaches the door to his room and takes a breath before turning the knob.
Bakugou is in bed, scowling at the wall again.
"Hey," he says as he walks in.
Bakugou grunts back.
Eijirou sits on his own bed and plays with his thumbs idly. "Crazy party out there, huh?"
"Wild." he scoffs.
"Kaminari was really going in on the caroling,"
"He sucks." Bakugou says.
"Yeah." he agrees. Bakugou seems sociable. He isn't as violent as he was yesterday. Eijirou figures he can try bringing it up.
"So," he clears his throat, "You two still haven't talked?"
Bakugou's scowl softens for a moment. He scratches the bridge of his nose. "Nah."
Eijirou watches as Bakugou scrubs his face with his palms. "I feel like the worst kind of shit." he groans. "And it fucking sucks. I hate Christmas."
Eijirou nods, happy to hear him letting out steam.
Bakugou pulls the pillow out from under his head and throws it up to the ceiling.
"Tonight I felt so fucking shitty, I wanted to go up to her and say sorry just get it over with, you know? But every time I tried getting close to her, she gave me this look and I felt like shoving my own hand down my throat and blowing myself up from the inside out."
"Damn."
"This is all Deku's fault!" he shouts, chucking the pillow to the wall.
Eijirou watches it fall down to the floor. He wouldn't blame this on Midoriya, but he's glad Bakugou's finally talking.
"There you guys are!" Kaminari says as he barges in through the door. Bakugou pulls his other pillow out to throw it at him.
"Get the fuck out."
Kaminari grabs the pillow and chucks it back before jumping on Eijirou's bed. "I'm not here for you,"
Eijirou gives him a small smile. He'd wanted more time with Bakugou. He won't talk around Kaminari now.
"Wish I'd roomed with you man," Kaminari tells him. "Todoroki's fucking boring. Whenever I try starting a conversation with him at night, he's already snoring."
"Where'd you go?" Todoroki says, walking in through the door suddenly. He rubs the sleep out of his eye. "I was so invested in your story."
"Why are you guys here?" Bakugou barks.
"Yeah, shouldn't you guys be at the party?" Eijirou asks.
Kaminari puts his head on Eijirou's lap. "Nah, that shit's dead."
"Yeah," Todoroki says, snuggling up beside Bakugou.
"Get the hell away from me!" he says, kicking him in the ribs.
"Don't be like that." Todoroki mutters.
"Besides," Kaminari says from his lap. "This is where the real party's at."
Eijirou chuckles at that. Bakugou rolls his eyes.
"So," Kaminari brushes his blonde bangs back to look at them. "Who's gotten lucky?"
All three of them stare back but don't say anything.
Kaminari threads his hands behind his head and sighs in relief. "So it's not just me who's under a dry spell."
"Wait," Bakugou holds a hand up, "You're saying none of you have had sex?"
"Nope."
"Nah."
"No."
Bakugou looks skeptical at that.
"Well, I've tried," Kaminari says, "But Kyouka's on her period, so."
"No, she's not." Todoroki says, half asleep. "Momo told me she just said that so you'd stop asking her to come to our room."
Kaminari's head jolts up when he hears that.
"Fake." he cries and pulls him phone out. Eijirou cringes as he reads the text he types out. is that mouth on its period?¿
Bakugou laughs at Kaminari's expense.
"Well, whatever. I'm having a talk with her tomorrow. Because that's what mature people do." Kaminari says pointedly. "They don't just bottle things up all week. They talk things out."
Eijirou looks over at Bakugou. Todoroki opens his eyes to stare at him too.
Bakugou scoffs. "She's the one who won't talk."
"Maybe because she's waiting for you to apologize?" Eijirou suggests lightly.
Bakugou slaps his palms over his face again. "Fuck my life. At this point, I just might."
"Really?" Kaminari gasps.
"Hell no."
They all sigh and shake their heads.
"Fuck off," he says, "None of you would apologize for a joke."
"You aren't funny." Todoroki says.
"I would literally confess to a crime I didn't commit if it meant Kyouka would keep talking to me." Kaminari says.
Eijirou doesn't say anything, but he gives Bakugou a little smile. Even if it's all his fault, he still feels bad for him.
"Whatever." Bakugou grumbles. "Can you guys get the hell out now so I can go to sleep?"
"Let's have a sleepover," Kaminari smiles. "What do you say, Todoroki?"
Todoroki puts a thumbs up in the air and crawls under the covers. "All jokes aside," he mutters, "You really oughta just talk to her."
"Why do you guys keep acting like I'm the one who won't speak to her?"
"All you did was yell." Todoroki points out.
"For good reason!" he growls. "She wants me to do whatever she wants."
"She just wants you to stop being a dick to Midoriya." Kaminari says.
Bakugou exhales through his nose loudly. Then he grabs his pillow and screams into it.
Kaminari starts laughing at him. Todoroki cracks a grin in his sleep. Eijirou smiles to himself. He thinks they're finally getting somewhere.
