I wonder what those people are thinking, as the ninjas either wearing disguises or not wearing any disguised whatsoever tell them about the island and how they are trying to be a place of peace.
Are they hiding inside of the ruins of what was once their hometowns or villages?
Are they hesitant to take the maps that lead them to the sand village location?
Are they widows- orphans- deserters that have had enough of all of the fighting and just want to live their lives away from it?
Or are they elderly that know that they could never make the journey but want to at least know that they tried to lay whatever remnants of the families they once had rest somewhere far from where they died?
The sky is getting darker, the funeral is over by now, it's better if I head home.

It's been a busy weak, news about people going up the castle spread like wildfire, not a surprise because there's not much going on here.
If it's not the usual monster attacking the animals or some critter eating the crops noting worth mentioning happens.
Oh yeah, some guy from the rain village arrived saying he wanted to buy some supplies and handed us both a ton of money and a list of the things he needed.
Poor guy nearly lost it when we just gave him the stuff he needed, he didn't ask for much just a couple of hundred thousand pounds of food- low-level potions and cloths.
All of that we have tons of and hell we even gave him some extra to get rid of the stuff, after all, everything he asked for was junk, drops the monsters on the bottom floors leave behind.
"Yui! get back here now!" I call Yui and her friends as I notice a giant wave of people getting closer.
"Get them to the town now," I say to the guards who immediately do what I say
"Asuna," I say to my wife as I run towards the growing wave of people.
"I know," Asuna says to me through my help screen as I stop running, all of the people coming are injured- half-starved or in rags, a lot of them are healthy but those are the lucky ones.
"We heard that there was an island in the middle of the desert, somewhere safe, that was opening itself to the people," A man says to me as he walks up to me
"Kirito, tell them that they will be fed and allowed into the castle in time but they have to be inspected first," Asuna says to me
"Everyone that sick- old and pregnant, get to the front of the line," I say to everyone and the people start to push each other forward.
I need to stop this before it gets out of hand, and so I allow myself to relax and let some of my presence to leak out.
"No fighting, everyone pregnant- old and sick to the front of the line."
"These people are the ones that can die the fastest, so after them are children and by that, I mean any woman carrying babies and anyone twelve or younger go next"
"After them, it's going to be a boy-girl- boy-girl," I say to the people who just look at me with resentment and fear in their eyes.
They just keep on coming, all of our people are working on getting everyone through and resettling the people to one of the other towns, but before that, we have to get the dolls out of there.
Some of the elderly or pregnant women refuse to leave because they have either kids or a husband still outside waiting to get in.
Luckily we have more than enough room and it's not as if we don have enough monsters to kill to feed all of the new arrivals.
The real problem is the ninjas that arrived with all of the people, they offered themselves as mercenaries and to work as police in exchange to be allowed to live the rest of their lives here.
Others said they are sick of all of the fighting and warned us that someone is spreading the word about us and is preparing to attack us and that they were using the people here as a way of weakening us.
The first part was obvious, there's no way our guys could get the word out this fast, but the fact that someone was planning to attack us, was news to me.
The moment the council heard the second part, they immediately put those guys on the yes we can trust these guys, but just to be safe let's keep their names separated from everyone else.
"That's interesting," I say to myself as I notice that two more doors are being opened
Just how many doors does Aincrad have?
The group of people is separating into two more groups and we are starting to get rid of all of the exes people outside of the walls of the castle.
"Kirito can you hear me?" Klein says t me through my help screen
"Yeah I can hear you and yes I'm still doing guard duty," I say to my old friend
"We decided to go through with sending people up the mountain, use the fights as a form of entertainment for everyone."
"you know a way of distracting the people from everything that is going on and the monsters the people kill will be used for re stoking our supplies," Klein says to me, the fact that he even knows about this at all means that the higher-ups already decided this and are telling this to everyone.
"What about the new arrivals?" I aks him
"That's just the thing, we're offering this to anyone that wants to go up the mountain" Klein answers me
Now I get it, they're planing on thining out the populations both of the new arrivals and the monsters.
It's a smart plan, everyone will think they are being treated as equals while they are sending themselves to die and those that don't die will have to rely on each other to live.
Not to mention the fact that all of the samurais and players populations are made up of people that have experience fighting monsters and all of our people are people used to killing other people.
"Excuse me can I get some water please," an old man wearing a horned headband, with long gray almost white hair asks me and I hand him a plastic cup so that he can fill it up
"It's hard to believe a safe place like this actually exists," the old man says to me, but I don't answer him, the guy is fishing for information, plus from what my help screen tells me his stamina is through the roof, not to mention his strength and speed.
"Sorry but I can't have conversations with anyone, I need to do my job," I say to him and the old man walks back to the line of people.
'hat was that?" Klein asks me
"I don't know, I didn't bother talking to the guy" I answer him
The sun has finally gone down it's going to be a while before anyone comes to replace me.
Five days it took five days to get everyone relocated and we are still finding people passed out in the desert.
One good thing is that amongst the newly arrived people we have a lot of teachers, carpenters, and one or two doctors, not much to work with but it's something.
The fact that the dolls give jobs to anyone is something that came in handy, so a lot of people easily found work that we either didn't want to do or found pointless at the moment, so giving things to do to people isn't a problem.
Oh yeah the dolls, turns out that if we move a doll from a town or village it automatically assumes a new role so we don't have to worry about them, they become anything else except monsters so we don't have to worry about them retaliating.
Oh yeah, because so many kids came with all of the refuges we had no choice but to put them in the red light district, hold on I know what your thinking, but remember that the only freaky stuff going on in there is between humans and dolls and tall of that is in small patches of the district.
So the orphanages are kept separate from them, so the kids don't see any freaky stuff going on in there.
Other than that not a lot has changed, the people are just living their lives, and besides the fact that we have to take extra shifts patrolling the different villages nothing new has happened.
