Darkhuntressxir- Would you like him to have an affinity in water,lightning, and wind. Or have an affinity for water and lighting and learn how to use wind as well, I couldn't really tell what you meant sorry. And about Itachi all I will say is kinda. September 15th
It has been a really good few months for the Hatake household. Kakashi is truly happy Naruto is in good health has a few friends who he loved spending time with. Ayame has been around a lot spend about as much time at Kakashi's house as she does at her own home.
The Hokage assigned Kakashi to find all the Root members as possible and either have them join ANBU or retire considering most of them didn't have personal skills to be in the regular ninja forces. Although there were a few who were fiercely loyal to Danzo, Kakashi didn't mind though it gave him a new chance to practice what he has been perfecting lately.
Kakashi spent quite a lot of time training in the past few months he managed to reach new levels with Lightning Release, something he called purple lightning. And any time a Root member wanted to try him he obliged seeing it as a perfect chance to test his new jutsu in combat. At first he wondered if it was a Kekkei Genkai considering he had Itachi look at it with his Sharingan active but he couldn't copy the jutsu. In the end Kakashi just assumed this was the last step of mastering his best affinity.
Itachi has been over a lot more as well since his mother became clan head he would often grab Sasuke and head to Kakashi's house. He was very grateful to Kakashi and Ayame for being so kind to him. He was also glad to see Naruto pull Sasuke out of his shell a little bit. Itachi wasn't a very vocal person so you might not be able to tell if you didn't know the boy personally but his brothers future was far more important than his own in his eyes. But that's not to say Itachi isn't happy he views Kakashi, Naruto, and Ayame as siblings. He cherishes every minute he gets to spend with them.
Itachi has also been trying to figure out his MS that he unlocked by killing his father which subsequently did the same for Kakashi. But he told Kakashi that it would be best if he figured the eye out before Kakashi tried it. Not knowing the draw backs someone that's not an Uchiha would suffer from using the MS. So far Itachi has only figured out he had a new ability to shoot black flames, which he calls Amaterasu.
Something he hasn't told anyone but Kakashi was that he would be joining Jiraiya in his spy network soon. While he wasn't thrilled about not being with Sasuke often, he knew this would help the village a lot. While he admired the Hokage he thought of Jiraiya as the ultimate type of shinobi one that protects from the shadows. No need for credit or glory although Jiraiya received both he knew the man wasn't in it for that his soul purpose was to protect his village and his precious people, something Itachi could get behind in full force. Plus he made Kakashi promise to look after Sasuke while he would be gone for long periods of time, he also planed on telling Shisui to do the same when he tells him his new job.
Hokage's office 6:44am
"Ayame-Chan to what do I owe the pleasure?" Hiruzen asked before taking a sip of his tea. "Hokage-sama I'm not sure if you know or not but today is Kakashi-kuns birthday is today, I was hoping you could maybe keep him busy somehow till about 3 today. Next time you stop by it's on the house if you can do me this favor." Ayame asked respectfully. "Hmm make the next two times and we have a deal." Hiruzen said receiving a nod back. "Thank you so much Hokage-sama I also expect you to come by Kakashi would be glad, plus Naruto has been asking about his Jiji." Ayame told rather than ask as she sent a glare. "Understood I'll be there." The Hokage said with a gulp from the glare he got.
Hatake residence 7:30am
"Ayame-Chan I'm glad you are here I've been summoned think you can watch Naruto for a bit?" Kakashi asked. "Sure babe be careful I'll cya soon" Ayame said giving the teen a kiss as he was walking by. "Always." Kakashi said with a wink before disappearing. "Always the charmer." Ayame said to herself before going to see her favorite blonde.
"Hey buddy are you hungry?" Ayame asked receiving a hug and a nod from Naruto. "Rawman pwease?" Naruto asked giving his best puppy dog eyes. "Yeah I'll make some Raman but don't tell your dad he thinks you should cut down on the Raman." Ayame said getting a smile that could melt anyone's heart. "You stay and pway wit me today mama?" Naruto asked after Ayame lifted him up to the chair at the kitchen table. "Yeah baby I'll be here all day. Do you know what today is?" Ayame asked as she started his Raman. "Umm Tuesday?" Naruto more so asked than answers. "No well technically yes, but today in particular is your daddy's birthday." Ayame said.
"That was great thanks mama!" Naruto said after finishing his second bowl. "Your welcome buddy just make sure you don't tell daddy about his surprise today if he comes home before we're ready okay." Ayame said while washing the dishes. "I pwomise." Naruto said. "I have to go and get some stuff for his surprise so Uncle Tenzo and Aunt Anko will be over in a little bit to play with you ok." Ayame told the boy as she took him down from the chair and let him play. "Yay Tenzo and Anko come to pway!" Naruto shouted the young blonde wasn't exactly a quiet kid.
Hokage's Office
"Hey Kakashi I need to some discuss some things with you." Hiruzen said prompting the young man to take a seat. "What's up sir?" Kakashi asked curiously. "Well first off I'd like to thank you about handling the Root situation, you have been very affective to say the least. I'd also like to say I'm proud of the man you have become I also know your father and sensei would agree." Hiruzen said taking a drag from his pipe not missing the fact Kakashi flinched a little at the mention of his father. "Thank you sir." Kakashi responded not really knowing what to say. "Kakashi while I can't tell you how to feel I think it would do you a lot of good to deal with what your father did I'm not sure how you should go about that but you can't let it eat at you for the rest of your life son." Hiruzen said with a sigh
"So I should just forgive him? I haven't told anyone this but shortly after he died I was sad truthfully mad at the village that they put him through this. So to cope I just focused on work. But when I took Naruto in that changed my perspective, what kind of father would abandon his son like that what kind of scum do you have to be?" Kakashi spit out the question like it was venom. "I'm not asking you to forgive him Kakashi far from I'm asking you to deal with it whatever way you see fit but not dealing with it isn't helping. Kakashi you are still fairly new to being a father but I can promise you, you will mess up not on purpose but it's bound to happen. Look I just ask of you to consider what your father was going through." Hiruzen said getting a nod from Kakashi.
"How is my grandson I haven't been able to come by in a little while." Hiruzen asked changing the topic. "He's doing well I've been trying to work on his pronunciation but it's going slowly." Kakashi said with a warm chuckle. "He's not even two yet cut the boy some slack." Hiruzen laughed. "I've been meaning to ask you not as Hokage but as a father do you think it would be wrong of me to to push being a ninja on him?" Kakashi asked unsure of himself. "In a normal case I would but unfortunately Naruto is no normal case I don't think he would resent you for it." Hiruzen said honestly. "A part of me hopes he isn't a genius it's never easy for a prodigy." Kakashi whispered speaking from experience. "Unfortunately I have to agree. The life of a prodigy is never an easy one, but all things considered I'd say you turned out pretty well so far." Hiruzen said with a chuckle.
"How is Asuma doing have you heard anything from him lately?" Kakashi asked. "He writes every once in a while said he was improving rapidly." Hiruzen said with pride in his voice. "That's good to hear I have a feeling that Naruto might get his fathers wind affinity and while I'm trying to learn it I'd like to get Asuma to show him some things when he gets a little older." Kakashi said. "I'm sure he wouldn't mind, maybe you could convince him to start making me some grandchildren while you're at it." Hiruzen chuckled.
"I know I'll probably have to take a genin team before you want me to take over but do you think we could hold off till Naruto graduates?" Kakashi asked. "I suppose that will be ok but you know the rules a father can't be his sons sensei." Hiruzen added. "I'm aware but I'll at least be able to do some joint missons with him hopefully. I never got the chance to do any with my father unfortunately." Kakashi said reminiscing. "I know you are weary of the Hat Kakashi but I think you will make a fine Hokage. Even though you don't say much you carry as strong of a will of fire as anyone." Hiruzen said with pride.
"I guess the team 7 line is bound for the role huh?" Kakashi asked playfully. "If only my idiot student would have taken up the mantle for a bit we would batting a thousand." Hiruzen chuckled. Without realizing he had an uninvited guest coming through the window. "I resent that comment old man." Jiraiya said making an entrance. "Just know you are the reason for these grey hairs dammit." Hiruzen scolded. "If it wasn't for me you wouldn't have had any fun training two prodigies." Jiraiya countered. "I suppose you are right about that. What brings you home Jiraiya?" Kakashi asked. "Well I was coming to get a report on your pupil." Jiraiya said.
"I'd say he is ready now to be honest with you, if I were to measure him I'd say he is at a high A-rank and I think he still has room to improve hell the kid doesn't even think he's figured out his new MS all the way yet." Kakashi spoke with pride. "That's good to hear I had planned on taking you under my wing but the old man has other plans for ya I guess." Jiraiya said with a chuckle. "I just ask you let him come home a little more often than you do. I know he won't ask to take a lot of time off but he loves his brother deeply and will miss him very much." Kakashi requested. "I don't see a problem with that I'll be the one doing most of the heavy lifting at least till he gets some experience under his belt." Jiraiya said evenly.
"Any word on either of my former students?" Hiruzen asked. "Unfortunately not there good at covering there tracks. It still amazes me I'm the last one here." Jiraiya said with a frown. "The life of a ninja can break a person all three of us here know that for a fact." Hiruzen said getting a couple nods in return. So what's the word on our relations with the other great nations?" Jiraiya asked. "Only one that will have anything to do with us is Suna, Kiri is locked in a civil war right now. Kuma and Iwa are still bitter about the third war." Hiruzen said with a sigh. "You know you aren't exactly convincing me to take the hat with your words right?" Kakashi asked with a laugh. "I suppose not but still one ally is better than none. Besides the leader of the rebellion in Kiri sent me a letter requesting help I've been considering sending Jiraiya to aid them, then they would be in our debt giving us two allies." The old man said with a grin.
"Well I guess I've taken enough of your time Kakashi-kun go home and say hi Naruto for me tell him I'll take him for some Raman soon." Hiruzen said with a smile. "Hai but I ask you switch it up that boy needs to slow down with the Raman." Kakashi deadpanned. "You plan on stopping by before you leave Jiraiya he hasn't gotten to see you in a while?" Kakashi asked. "I plan on visiting the Gaki." Jiraiya replied. "Alright I'm off." Kakashi said with a wave before heading home.
Memorial stone 1:00pm
Hey guysfigured I'd stop by before heading home. It's kind of crazy to think I'm 16 now. I miss you guys a lot still but I'm doing better about dealing with it, Naruto doesn't let me stay down for long. He is so much like you Kushina but the older he gets the more he looks like you sensei. He sees Sasuke a lot I'd say there about as close as a two year old can be with another, it's actually pretty fun to watch Naruto try to bring Sasuke out of his shell. I've been pretty busy lately with Naruto, ANBU, and lord third trying to show me something's about the job. It's still crazy to think that he wants me to take over for him, I wonder what you would think of this sensei you would probably tell me I'll do fine like you always do who am I kidding. To be completely honest if it wasn't for your dream obito I don't think I don't think I would have accepted. Well I have to take off now I'll cya later.
Hatake residence 2:30pm
"Honey I'm home." Kakashi called out opening the door. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Everyone called out. "So you were why the Hokage wanted to talk to me today." Kakashi said while getting a hug from Ayame. "Maybe, I know you don't celebrate your birthday often but I wanted to at least have our friends over you deserve this Kakashi-kun." Ayame said. "Thank you very much for this I have to admit it's nice to have everyone over." Kakashi said with a warm smile.
The rest of the day was a great one for the famous copy ninja there is few things that he truly enjoys in life but being with his precious people rank at the very top. He was glad to catch up with everyone also glad Naruto ate his piece of the cake, he's not very fond of sweets but his blonde haired buddy has no problems with such treats. He ended the night with his pup sleeping close beside him something he wouldn't change for anything.
A\N- bit of a shorter chapter I have a lot of family up for the holidays. Hope you guys had a great holiday if you celebrated any! I've come to the conclusion that I'm going to jump forward a bit I really want Naruto to start his training and I can hardly contain myself, for those of you that will be upset about this I'm sorry but alas what can you do. I hope you guys like what I'm doing with Itachi as well it seems like protecting the village from afar is just his destiny but hey at least Sasuke won't be so emo right? I also plan for Sasuke to be a bit stronger as well, Itachi will show him some things when he comes home from his trips with Jiraiya and he will spend a lot of time at the Hatake house so he is bound to pick up some tricks.
