Nine
Cap, Black Widow, and Luke went to the SHIELD base and saw five SHIELD agents patrolling it. "Huh, not abandoned as we thought." Luke said. "Don't worry, we'll knock them out then get in." Cap replied.
Cap ran toward the SHIELD base. The SHIELD agents fired their machine guns but Cap blocked the gunfire with his shield before he frisbee his shield, knocking out two of the agents. Cap grabbed the shield as it returned back to him and kicked the third agent in the face, knocking him down. The last two agents were about to fire at Cap but Black Widow zapped the first with her taser disk and Luke knocked out the second with an uppercut. Then the three of them went to the door but it was locked. Cap tried to use his shield to bash the door open but it didn't work. Then Luke stepped up and shattered the doors with one punch of his fists.
"How'd you do that?" Cap asked. "I experimented-on a long time ago. I don't wanna talk about it." Luke replied.
They went into the SHIELD base and it was full of computers. One of the computers turned on and it showed a green hologram of Armin Zola. Cap had a confused expression on his face.
"Steve Rogers, Captain America. Luke Cage. Natasha Romanoff." Zola said.
"Who are you?" Cap asked.
"You already know who I am. I am Armin Zola. I may not look like the man I was before but I am." Zola replied.
"How did you survive?" Cap asked.
"When HYDRA fell, I faked my death so people would think I committed suicide like the others. But instead I transferred my mind into what I believe you call the internet." Zola replied.
"Why is SHIELD attacking me?" Cap asked.
"SHIELD isn't attacking you. HYDRA is." Zola said.
"HYDRA died with Red Skull." Cap replied. "No, captain. It survived. When SHIELD first started, I infiltrated their computer network. I began building an army with the help of Alexander Pierce." Zola said. "Pierce had the others build the satellites for me and they will kill all of HYDRA's enemies. That is how HYDRA returned. A parasite inside SHIELD. I also had Natasha spy on the Avengers so HYDRA infiltrated the Avengers, too." Zola said.
Cap turned and looked at Black Widow, shocked. The Avengers and SHIELD had been infiltrated by HYDRA all this time and no one knew about it. Not even Fury.
"It's just the job. No hard feelings." Black Widow said.
"When will the satellites attack?" Cap asked Zola. "Tomorrow, at midnight." Zola said. "Unfortunately, you won't be around when HYDRA begins the new world order."
h Suddenly, there was the sound of sirens.
"I am afraid we are both of us, out of time." Zola said.
Then an air strike began as missiles peppered the SHIELD base. Cap blacked out as the world around him exploded.
