Love me like you do

Summary: One lie, that destroys Hermione's whole life. Harry and Ginny believe that lie, so there's just one person to comfort her. Who, you may ask? Of course, Draco Malfoy.

Fred and George

"Thanks for everything, Draco. Thank you for being there for me in the last five weeks. You didn't have to do it, and I'm very very grateful for that", I finally say.

Draco looks at me with wide eyes.

"You want to move out?", he finally asks stuttering.

I look at him.

"What? No!", I say slightly taken aback. "Well, of it's okay with you, I'd like to keep living here," I add a bit shyly.

He sighs in relief.

"You didn't really think...," I ask.

"What am I supposed to think when you tell me that the Weasleys have offered you to move in with them and then that sentence...," he says, slightly offended.

"No, just after the letter I realised that I've never really thanked you and that it's not a given that you took me in."

"You've already thanked me so often and with you I'm not that lonely, but I still have a life-sized heat bottle with me", he grins.

I grin back. "Yeah, yeah, you teddy bear."

"But what have you written the Weasley Twins?", he suddenly asked interested.

I shove the letter towards him. He begins to read out loud.

Hey Freddie and Georgie,

considering the circumstanced I'm really fine. Please don't worry about me, I'm really fine.

I'm sorry that I just disapparated, but I though it was for the best. And it was good. I was picked up by an old acquaintance and I've lived with him since them, which is why you're hopefully not mad that I'm not moving in with you.

I for one wish that we could prove the truth someday, but I don't think this will be in the near future. Even if (sorry) Ron isn't the brightest candle on the cake, he really gave much into that lie. Extremely much. I think it may just be years until Ginny and Harry find out the truth…even if I'm really disappointed that they didn't even listen and think me the person to do that…I didn't really hide, but in the beginning it was really hard for me to get clear with all this and I've tried to leave everyone and everything, but without success, because my 'saviour' didn't let me und forced me to get outside again.

Ronald really went to the Daily Prophet with that lie?! I can't believe that he used to be my best friend! I really didn't know…, because fortunately not everyone reads the Daily Prophet and I was with people who didn't read it or just aren't interested in it…

I'd probably have asked myself what was up with everyone on Monday…but thanks to you I know what's going on!

And I don't care if he's happy with that daft dimbo! Even if it still hurts, I now know his true face and I'm happy to be rid of him! Imagine I'd only found out about this in a few years…I wouldn't have wasted just half a year of my life with him, but a few years…

Maybe we should meet sometime in the next few days, then I can introduce me to my 'saviour'. Bu please don't be mad at me and don't tell Ginny and Harry.

I love you too,

Hermione

"So I'm your saviour?!", Draco grins when he finishes reading.

I turn red. "Uh…yeah, I guess…I mean, I probably would've killed myself or something if it wasn't for you picking me up…", I mumble while rolling the letter and tying it to the owl's leg. I go to the window and let it fly away.

"Come here, princess", Draco says, after I closed the window, and spreads his arms.

I throw myself into his arms. "My teddy bear", I mumble into his shirt.

"Welcome home", he smiles.

I look up to him.

"Thanks."

We get interrupted by a knock on the window. His owl is back and she still has a letter at its leg.

"What's her name, anyway?", I ask.

"Hermes."

"Oh. It's a he?" Draco nods.

I take the letter from Hermes and stroke his feathers.

"It's from Fred and George."

I open the letter and read it out loud.

Hey Hermione,

we're happy that you're okay.

We'd really like it if you came to the shop with your wonderful saviour tomorrow. We'd like to thank him personally that he was there for you when we weren't. And why would we be mad?! He can't be that bad…and even if….he helped you and that's what counts and totally shows that he's a good person.

No matter who it his, we'll thank him and won't kill him or something.

Freddie and Georgie

"Their faces are gonna be perfect…me and a good person?!", Draco laughs.

I look at him. "You are a good person, Draco", I say seriously.

"You say that to the youngest Death Eater in history?", he asks and lifts an eyebrow.

I swallow. "Even if you don't see it like that, you're a good person. And you're not one of them."

"But I helped them take over Hogwarts and I switched to his side in the last moment", he protests.

"So? You didn't tell on us when you had the opportunity, and you offered me, a muggle born, to move in with you without a flinch and were there for me when nobody else was", I answer back.

He opens his mouth and closes it again because he can't think of another argument.

I grin in triumph. "See, you're a good person."

"Maybe we should answer them", Draco tries to change the topic.

"Yes, we should", I join in and take another parchment and the quill. "When should we meet them?", I ask.

"At two?"

Hey Freddie, hey Georgie,

We're already excited for the meeting tomorrow, we'd come at about two.

I know that you wouldn't kill him, but even I didn't expect for him to help me.

So, see you tomorrow,

Hermione

Draco calls Hermes and I tie the letter to his leg before he flies off again.
