Spider-Man/Doctor Strange The Midnight Sons Chapter 9
The team of Blade, Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange were underground in the subway as The Legends with Spider-Man, Moon Knight and Ghost Rider were planning a last stand on the heart of Manhattan to draw in as much attention as they could buying precious time.
Blade lead his team along the same tracks he tailed Satana in. "Shouldn't be much further" Blade assurered as the trio come across the open portal to the underworld.
"Over there!" said Wanda as the three rush over.
Doctor Strange looks down below as he then hears a voice talking to him.
"Sorcerer..."
"What's wrong?" asked Wanda.
"He's coming. We're running out of time" said Strange.
"Who?" Blade asked.
"Mephisto" Strange answered
Meanwhile in Manhattan, Ava and The Legends along with Spider-Man, Moon Knight and Ghost Rider were prepared to hold the line.
"Zari, you Gary and your brother prepare the ship in case we need to bug out. The rest of us have one job to do *readies bladter* give em hell" said Ava as everyone formed a circle back to back.
"Here they come!" said Moon Knight as the horde of the underworld were heading at them full force.
"These bastards want hell on earth? Let's give them scorched earth!" said Ava.
"Was that supposed to be a one liner?" asked Nate.
"I just figured since this is usually Sara's thing, and given she's not here..." Ava began.
"She'd be proud" Nate finished.
Constantine puts out his cigarette as he says, "Worse ways to go out. This'll hopefully be the most fun"
"Let's burn these pigs!" shouts Mick as he fired the first shot as the heroes began the fight.
"Strange, it's now or never!" said Blade as Doctor Strange began the ritual to send everything back to the underworld once and for all.
Deep below as Mephisto made his ascend, he notices how his daughter's work is becoming undone. "NOOOOO! DAUGHTER!!!! WHERE ARE YOU!!???" asked Mephisto as he quickly got her to appear above ground.
"Oh you've gotta be shitting me?" Satana said as she appears before the three heroes.
"Wanda that's your cue" said Strange as he remained focused.
"I'm on it" Wanda replied as she used her hex magic to send the daughter of the Mephisto backwards onto a pillar crashing through.
Satana comes to as she dusts herself off of rubble and debris.
"You Witch!" she says as she flies after Wanda as the two women battle it out.
The two trade blows if Hellfire and hex magic send the other against the wall and even up above ground.
Doctor Strange was frantically trying his best to quickly seal up the portal but Mephisto had other plans as his army began making it's way to their location.
The roars echoed as Doctor Strange and Blade look at the direction it was coming from.
"Just keep at it. I'll hold them off." said Blade as he reached for his gear and began to set traps and load up his guns.
Elsewhere, the Manhattan Last Stand was still underway. As the armies of the underworld kept coming, the heroes continued to throw everything they had. Ava and Mick were blasting from practically every direction as they also used their guns to smack them away giving them breathing room that was rapidly diminishing. Meanwhile Moon Knight was throwing Moonerangs left and right as he also had his bo staff to defend himself with giving himself some space. Spider-Man and Nate were doing their best to valiantly hold their ground as the armored up Nate offered himself to be used as a weapon for Spider-Man to swing around with his web. As Nate lands he begins to get overwhelmed.
"NATE! HANG ON!" shouts Spider-Man as he swings into action helping his teammate. Spider-Man quickly punched the last of the underworld army that had Nate pinned. Spider-Man then pulls him up as a Werewolf back hands him onto a car causing Nate to hit it with a haymaker returning the favor as he helped Spider-Man back on his feet.
Ghost Rider and Constantine used their Hellfire to burn everything in their path. Constantine threw fireballs and used shield spells as Johnny Blaze used his chain and his mouth as a flamethrower as the flames spewed out in a massive blaze.
"Bloody hell. Nearly burned off my goddamn eyebrows ya wanker!" said Constantine as Johnny simply screamed at his face as a reply.
"Cut the chatter! Zari, Gary we need an airstrike. NOW!" ordered Ava.
"Got it Cap! I suggest you get clear!" said Gary as The Waverider fired its guns as it thinned the herd of the underworld army.
"Heads up team. You got more ghouls and goblins coming in" cautioned Zari. "From where?" asked Ava. "Uh guys ?" said Spider-Man as he looks behind him.
"Ahhhh shit" said Ava as the team prepares for another round.
Meanwhile outside the city, a lone figure on a motorcycle was en route. "Bloody hell. This is definitely Mephisto's work. Gonna be a lot of monsters to hunt. Thanks for the heads up Marc. There's not a hunt too challenge for me or my name isn't Elsa Bloodstone" said the woman as she rode into Hell on New York.
