Jasper's P.O.V.:
Edward didn't try to call me again thankfully. I also was working with Bella after school on how to defend herself incase he did come back. Nina and Carmen were busy with trying to find a way to tell the boys the truth without scaring them too much. As if that was possible I was surprised when Bella handled it without running away. She's a fast learner that's for sure, Nina would probably use her gift to her advantage in a fight and Char said she's been looking up how to fight on her own. Peter was seeing how much Nina had learnt since Carmen was spending whatever time Graham was awake with him.
I just finished with Bella for the day when my phone went off. I checked my caller Id and figured if it was Edward I wouldn't pick up. But it was Alice this time so I better answer it. Why would she call me on a Friday afternoon? Right before Nina was planning to go on a date of sorts. I answered my phone after a couple of rings. "Alice what's going on? Are you hurt?" I asked her as Bella went inside.
"Jasper, thank goodness. You had me worried that you wouldn't pick up. I'm not hurt Emmett is making sure Edward and Carlisle can't touch Rose, Esme or I. But Edward and Carlisle are accusing me of helping you leave to return to your real family. I might have been rude to Peter and Charlotte but it was wrong for me to do that. They are also accusing me of wanting to leave. I think Carlisle is losing it Jasper. You left on your own I didn't help you. Anyway I was going to leave soon and was going to see Bella. I saw something happening in town but I think you got that covered. I'll stay if you need me to." She replied and I texted Peter to get a room ready for Alice. Now I need a plan to get Esme out of there since she'll probably get Emmett and Rosalie out first. I could use Nina her power of invisibility would make it easy for her to go in unnoticed by Edward. But I don't know if Esme would trust Nina so easily. Maybe Carmen would be able to gain Esme's trust easier if she changed her appearance to look like Alice or Rosalie.
I'm going to need Nina's input on a rescue plan for Esme and I knew it. "I will probably need you to stay we're going to be spread thin if Carlisle has gone crazy. Since my other sisters will be trying to protect some boys they found and I'll have my hands full with Bella and her dad. You can stay with us I already asked Peter to set a room up for you. Grab whatever you want from the houses Carlisle owns that you stayed at on your way here. We will talk later I have to make sure my sister dresses appropriately for her date tonight." I told Alice and she pretty much screamed through the phone at the thought of one of my siblings on a date. We said our goodbyes and I hung up before driving home.
When I got home I saw Graham in the living room alone. "Carmen didn't trust Nina to get ready for her date alone." He told me chuckling. Carmen would at least not go overboard unlike Alice. If Alice was helping Nina it would have been lots of makeup, elaborate hair and a dress with heels and some flashy jewelry that's not Nina. Nina probably prefers a more natural makeup look, her hair braided out of her face, either a simple dress or a skirt or jeans with flats and her charm bracelet plus a simple necklace. With Nina less was more she didn't need a face full of makeup, lots of jewelry or a fancy dress with a elaborate hair style to make her look beautiful. She reminded me of Bella that way since Bella is beautiful just by doing little things. My thoughts were now on Bella again.
Peter and Charlotte came back just before Riley showed up. "Carmen, he's here I'm so worried that I'll scare him off." I heard Nina say from her room as Carmen opened the door. Carmen just came downstairs and went over to Graham who was waiting for Riley to finish taking to Peter and Charlotte. Nina came down in a dark blue, off shoulder top with a skirt the same color giving the illusion of a dress, she had her hair pulled out of her face with a brown hair band, she went with flats that matched the hair band and had a thin brown belt on her waist, her makeup was simply done and she had her charm bracelet on her right hand so it wasn't in her way. The brown and blue went well with her coloring since she was in Australia.
"Crikey , Nina you look ace don't forget your lippie when you leave mate." Graham said in shock on how Nina looked which got Riley to turn around. I took a picture of her and sent it to Alice with the message does this meet your standards. She replied quickly saying she would have done it differently but the style and colors fit my sister well. Riley was looking for the words to say to Nina. I was still trying to figure out what Graham said I figured that when he called Nina mate he meant friend but what did lippie mean. I think he meant very good or excellent when he said ace but I don't know I can ask Carmen. "You look wonderful Nina like a goddess." Riley told her which got her to smile. Carmen asked Nina which coat she wanted to wear out the brown one or the black one she went with the brown one obviously. Carmen placed the lipstick which was more of a gloss in the pocket and we waved Nina and Riley off.
After Nina left I chose to talk to Peter about Alice coming back while Carmen got Graham something to eat. We made plans to have Bella over for the weekend as well so we can practice more and if Carmen chose to tell Graham the truth Bella might be able to help him work through it. We thought it would be best if Carmen picked up Bella tomorrow. "It's good to see that Nina is learning self defense since your siblings seem overly protective of her." I overheard Graham talking to Carmen and she told him that we're working on it but you can't be too careful Nina's uniqueness. I went to play a game with Peter and Charlotte since we didn't have much to do that night . Carmen and Graham went up to do their homework till either he went to bed or Nina got home. Carmen came down after Graham went to sleep. I left the game to Peter and Charlotte so I can talk to her about some of the things Graham says.
"Carmen can you explain some of the things Graham says to me he confuses me sometimes." I explain to her and she nodded telling me to take a seat. She then proceeded to give me a crash course on Australian slang. This lasted till Nina came home. So Graham reminded Nina to bring her lipstick with her when he told her not to forget her lippie since lippie is Australian slang for lipstick. I don't understand why Nina would want to put more make up on.
"How was your date, Nina ballerina ?" Charlotte asked Nina as soon as she walked in the door. She was clearly happy because I wasn't getting any other emotions from her not even the loneliness that she made apparent to me recently. She was in love that was a good thing for her. Nina told Char and Carmen about her date while Peter and I started making a plan to get Esme safe from Carlisle and Edward but Emmett might send Rosalie ahead and protect her himself. I was thinking for a while before I heard Nina suggest either buying a karaoke machine or going on a group date where she went. I might have sang or sung which ever you prefer to say in the past but that was years ago. I'm pretty sure Char never heard me sing since it was when we were still human when Nina was dumped by someone named Samuel but I don't remember that name or his face all I remember is the pain that he caused Nina. Peter, Carmen and I were trying to cheer her up for days maybe weeks after the break up.
That was the first time Nina shut down from any one. We're used to it after a hundred years but we started safe guarding her and I was worried when Peter wanted to introduce Charlotte to Nina. But seeing Nina happy made us happy and if Riley was what makes her happy along with the arts then he's okay until he hurts her. "Nina, can you come help me for a bit?" I asked her as Carmen went to hunt and Charlotte went to get a room ready for Bella. She walked over, looked at what I was planning before sitting down and started thinking. She suggested code and sending her in to get Esme. Since we plan on giving a wrong answer in case Edward tries to read Esme's mind or Emmett's if he's still with her. We will know the real answer and tell Esme to focus on a fake answer to the code so when one of us show Edward will be confused . Song lyrics are too easy so we stay clear of those. We also stay away from the words Jasper, major, Captain, Bella and forks. Since Bella means beautiful in Italian and my name being a type of stone it could have been a misdirection but we just chose to avoid them the answer Esme thought of could include them actually I encouraged it.
We eventually picked the phase the hummingbird flies in the sparkling snow. With the replies of while the black sheep bleats it's lonely tune and the bear is asleep in it's cave. There was no way Edward would understand that since he knows no one who matches the description of a black sheep or a hummingbird. And Nina had enough songs in her head to block Edward from reading her mind but we will give her a disguise anyway Alice maybe. Or she can have a temporary tattoo that only Esme will know about that might work if her gift can hide it. Nina and I must have been thinking the same thing because she suggested a tattoo instead of playing dress up. She drew a small snowflake with a hummingbird which got me to laugh. She then pointed out the inside of her arm where she'll draw it with markers. I still wasn't sure about this so she drew something that looked like a hieroglyphic on her wrist and she made it look like it wasn't there at all. "I've been practicing my disappearance as part of fighting. Thought this trick would come in handy it won't reappear until I want it to even if I disappear and reappear." She explained to me while making the mark reappear. We texted Esme and Emmett and code and that someone with an animal from the code on them as jewelry or a tattoo will help them soon just act normal for now.
Emmett responded first asking if he should send Rosalie with Alice or after. I looked at Nina who responded after we don't want to raise suspicion when they both don't return, wait until my sister Nina contacts you it should be less than a week. Emmett quickly replied with a you got it. I might have found a new nickname for Nina maybe Athena because here we are planning a rescue operation and she's no worried about it relying on her so heavily. She helped with the code, the timing and now Emmett on when to send Rosalie. Even more she volunteered to go do the rescue herself. Or maybe I could nickname her Buffy, Emmett once told me of that show and it's characters. I'll ask her which one she likes better later.
Nina hid her temporary tattoo as Carmen came back inside. We started telling her what we came up with and she sighed. "I knew that I shouldn't have told this one about how code works ." she said putting her hand on her face. Nina just laughed and continued explaining our plan trying to get through it before Graham got up. Charlotte would go with whatever I planned but Peter was surprised by that fact that I'm not telling Nina to sit out of this one and send Carmen instead. Carmen asked a few questions and Nina was the one who gave her answers since this was mostly her plan.
Afterwards Nina went to shower and get ready to get Bella with Carmen. "So was this Angel dove's plan or yours major?" Peter questioned as Charlotte went to the kitchen to cook breakfast for Nina and Graham. I told him it was mostly Nina's idea and Charlotte was surprised by that . We had to drop the conversation though since Graham came down ready for the day. Nina came back down in a shirt with hieroglyphics on it well one it was the same one on her arm she told me it meant life so I couldn't complain. She went over and said good morning to everyone being excited about having Bella over. I got a text from Alice telling me that she left.
Carmen and Nina went to get Bella after Nina ate something and I moved anything that had to do with our plan to a different room. Peter and Graham were playing a game when I came back I was excited to see Bella even with everything going on. Charlotte was working on her laptop or lappy as Graham called it once when Nina was working on hers. " Hey Charlotte get off your lappy and come join Peter and me for a few rounds." Graham said and I just laughed we waited for Carmen to come back with Nina and Bella. I would spend a little bit of time practicing with Bella while Nina does her practice by herself and Carmen would spend time with the others . The door opened after a bit and Graham went to give my sisters a hug. "Hi Jasper, nice to see you again Peter and Charlotte." Bella greeted before getting a high five from Graham. Peter and Charlotte waved at her. "Hello Bella, Nina can I borrow something from your room later?" I greeted.
I watched as Nina lead Bella to a guest room talking about how terrible ex boyfriends can be laughing about it. Carmen was talking to Graham like normal. I went to Nina's room and started looking for a guitar I thought it was time to start playing music. Nina would like it Bella might be surprised. I found what I was looking for before I went outside and started trying to play. I definitely need to practice but Bella came out ready to practice self defense with me. Nina probably walked by us since I heard a note play from the guitar I brought out but didn't see anything Nina must have either been using her speed or her invisibly. Bella and I started practicing where we left off yesterday.
She did well and Nina came back later. "Movie night! Break time Jasper." Nina exclaimed excitedly. She was almost bouncing as she went into the house picking up the guitar I took from her room on her way in. Bella just laughed at her as we went in. When we got in Nina was already in the kitchen making enough food for the seven people in the house even though only three of them ate. Peter was watching her like something happened. "How late does she think we'll be up?" Graham asked and Peter laughed telling us what movies Nina picked. She picked quite a few movies and I think the food was more for her to snack on during the night since there was no way Bella and Graham were going to be able to stay up to watch them all. Carmen went to get in her pajamas after spreading blankets all over the living room with pillows in case Bella or Graham fall asleep during a movie.
Nina placed all the food on the table and we all went to put our pajamas on before meeting in the living room. Nina had her hair braided in two braids over her shoulders and wore pants with a ladybug spotted print with a black shirt with a bright green cat paw print in the middle of it, Carmen didn't do anything to her hair and just wore black track pants with a blue tank top. I found Bella in a brown shirt with gray track pants by the food talking to Graham who was in a similar Color scheme to Carmen but darker blues, Peter and Charlotte came down in matching stars and plaid but on had stars on the shirt and the other one their pants. As for me I just went with a green long sleeve shirt with brown track pants. Peter, Charlotte and I thought it would be best if we wore long sleeves and pants so Graham wouldn't see the scars and ask about them.
As we started our movies Charlotte cuddled into Peter that didn't surprise me and the others didn't notice. Eventually I felt surprise coming from Graham so I looked over to find Carmen cuddled up to him. "You're freezing Carmen." He said as he wrapped them in a blanket and I could tell that Nina was happy with what was happening between her friend and sister. We watched more movies and made comments about things like how silly the plot is eventually Graham feel asleep still cuddling Carmen. Nina took a picture of them to show him tomorrow when he got up Bella eventually found her way over to me and since Graham was asleep she could ask me what she wants till she herself fell asleep.
"Why did you send your family to look out for me? Don't get me wrong I'm happy you did and that you came back I just want to know why." Bella told me after sitting next to me for most of the night she was keeping Nina company. Nina was too focused on the Movie at this point to pay attention to our conversation or she might have told Bella that I love her. I could tell her that but I don't think she is ready for a new relationship so soon after Edward. But I think if I don't soon Nina will probably tell Bella for me.
"Because I thought you would like to have protection in case other vampires try to harm you again." I told her and I mentally added so I would have a way back to you. Bella looked like she was going to fall asleep but she didn't move and I wrapped a blanket around her. Carmen was watching the movie while Nina got up to get more food. Eventually Bella did fall asleep next to me and I moved some hair out of her face. We should have a few days before Alice gets here and if they are all like this none of us would complain. Carmen looked a way from the Screen pretending to be scared of our current movie and buried her face into Graham's chest. I wonder if something happened to him if he would stay away. I hope we never have to find out that answer since it might break Carmen and then Nina would go looking for him.
Nina stopped trying to scare Carmen and put a fantasy movie on not a vampire one or we wouldn't stop talking about how inaccurate they are. The four of us continued to watch movies throughout the night as Bella and Graham slept. Nina continued to snack on food. We ended up watching about ten movies before Bella woke up. Carmen was still cuddling with Graham when he woke up not that he was going to complain about having Carmen near by. I can't remember what movie we were watching at this point but Nina went to the kitchen to cook Breakfast for herself, Bella and Graham. I turned the movies off and we all went up to get dressed. Carmen forced Nina to include fruit in her Breakfast and not just meat and potatoes which got her to pout. Graham and Bella laughed at my sisters before Nina went to get dressed. "What are the odds that she's come back down in a graphic t-shirt?" Bella asked us and we laughed.
"High, she has a shirt for every book series, movie , game, show or whatever she likes. She made most of them I think." Peter explained and we laughed more. Nina chose to come down without a graphic t-shirt instead she wore a lavender peasant blouse with tan colored pants. We were all surprised at this but didn't say anything. Bella's phone went off and we listened to the conversation. Bella sighed afterward. "Guess my weekend is over Mike called in sick I need to cover for him." Bella explained which got me to sigh I didn't want Bella to leave so soon.
"I'll drive her I was going out anyway." Nina said as Bella went to pack her stuff. Nina ran outside while Bella was still packing her things and I followed her. I didn't see Nina grab Carmen's hat and coat on the way out but she did. I hid unless asked for my help but I think she has this covered since it's just a mime.
I watched as Nina quickly tied him up and dragged him of before placing Carmen's things in the back seat of the car she was taking. "You can stop snooping around Jasper that mime was looking for Carmen and I did what I had to but his buddies will be here eventually. Ask Carmen to fill you in when Gray is busy or asleep." Nina explained as Bella came out so I stood up and gave her a hug. I watched as they left before heading inside. Peter and Charlotte were working while Carmen and Graham were doing homework.
It wasn't long before my phone went off telling me that someone was trying to call me. I looked at the caller id it was Alice again. So I picked up writing on paper to set ring tones for everyone later. "Hello Alice." I spoke into the phone. Did something go wrong? Because if something went wrong I should let Nina know so we can adjust our plan.
"Jasper is Bella still with you? I saw things Edward will come after her and friends of someone named Carmen Sandiego ." Alice said and I yelled up to Carmen to get her friends here now things just got complicated as I headed out to keep an eye on Bella at work. "What of Charlie and my sisters? Will Edward come after them?" I asked her and she told me she didn't know. I sighed so both the boys were targeted and probably the ones I keep seeing Nina interact with dressed as Carmen.
She told me that she should be here the day after tomorrow and wanted to get gifts for my family so I told her what everyone likes and gave her an idea for Graham and Riley as well. "Jasper last I checked you had four siblings did one of your sisters find their mate?" she asked me and I told her they both did. She wasn't surprised that I gave her ideas for Bella as well she told me thank you and hung up. The first thing I did after she hung up was text Nina, Emmett's number and sent Emmett, Nina's number telling him wait until she texts you to save this number she'll use an alias or nickname.
I waited for Bella to get off her shift at work when I saw Nina walk by with Riley. We just waved at each other but I gave her a look that said we need to talk at home. She understood of course and she sighed before she started to walk Riley home. Bella came out smiling at me before pulling me into a hug. I took her home and told her about my phone call with Alice. "He's what?" Bella asked angrily but I reassured her that my family ,Alice and eventually the rest of the Cullen family with the exceptions of Carlisle and Edward would be here to protect her, Charlie, the boys and Carmen's friends. I didn't know at the time that an old enemy would become an ally or that some of the Volturi guard would get involved either. I was going to call Garrett and was going to ask Alice to call Tanya and Kate but if Edward was going to attack and Carlisle lets him we're going to need help.
I ran home after getting Bella home and making sure she was inside. "Family meeting now." I said as I got inside. I saw Nina run into the meeting, sound proofed room to make sure we don't wake Graham up . Carmen wasn't to far behind her still on the phone with her friends while Peter was already inside getting everything set up and Charlotte was just finishing making Nina a snack. Once the five of us were inside I closed the door Nina was already working on her arm to get Esme and Emmett. Peter had all of Nina's notes on the Cullen family in a board with blank paper next to them.
"Alice called me we're in trouble and our rescue operation will have to be pushed forward. Alice should be here the day after tomorrow. Carmen how soon will your friends get here ? Nina how soon do you think it will be okay for Emmett to send Rose and how soon can you leave?" I asked my sisters but I wasn't getting nervousness from Nina instead she seemed calm about all of this. Carmen told me the day after Alice gets here her friends should get here she never actually met player so that kept him safe and she doesn't interact with someone named Jules for her safety as well and the last one has been doing her missions while she's here so he's probably just going to go home and lay low. So we need two more rooms ready. Nina pulled out her phone and texted Emmett to Send Rose tomorrow and that she's coming but instead of using her name she sent a snowflake emoji at the end of the message. She's playing with Edward and Carlisle by using her dead nickname they'll expect a weak ,defenseless girl, not the sneaky, strong one that is Nina.
Nina finished her drawing on her arm, told us to make a reason for her absence and left. Carmen and Charlotte went to get rooms ready for Rose and Carmen's friends. "Do you think she's ready for this Major?" Peter asked me unsure if sending Nina was a good idea but I just nodded my head. Nina took an older car a car from 67. She will probably stop a bit further away from the house then walk the rest of the way. She had her plan to get them and she'll do just fine.
Charlotte came in again. "Major do you or Carmie think you can drop Nina ballerina's school work off for her she has it all done I just checked." Charlotte explained to me and I went to Nina's room to check it out. English was done, her music project was on a USB stick that had a music theme, her drama project was in a binder that she drew a few musical logos on, her history project was on another USB stick that looked like a black cat, and the others had a similar pattern she made it obvious which project was for which class the USBs had her name on attached to the chains on a braided cord of sorts. She was ready for anything to happen.
I dropped off all of Nina's stuff for her the next day at school. Carmen told Graham and Riley that Nina had a friend who needed her out of town for a while a few weeks probably maximum. Bella knew where she went of course I told her she asked. "Do you boys want to hear a story about Carmen Sandiego?" I heard Carmen ask Riley and Graham while I texted Alice to tell her that Carmen has her friends coming here and if she can get a hold of Tanya and Kate for me. She knows Nina left already and what she's planning.
When we got back one of the boys that I've seen Nina talk to was there. "Carmen thank goodness you are okay some mad man tried to attack Antonio and myself." The man said and I got Graham inside before calling Garrett. Carmen came in not much later thinking about something . I went to see Bella again she wasn't surprised that I showed up but happy I did. I laughed and mentioned having more humans in the house which got Bella to laugh two. "how many does that make now?" she asked me that would be three humans and nine vampires in one house . This should be fun.
The day after that was slow and Bella chose today to hang out at our place. I did eventually set ringtones for everyone. So when I heard the first bars of Nina's ring tone which was a cover of how you remind me sung by Avril Lavigne I picked up. "Hello Nina how's it going?" I asked her as Alice walked in and hugged Bella. Nina gave me a quick update when Alice asked for the phone. She probably seen something so I handed it over.
"Hello Nina I'm Alice Brandon formerly Cullen I just want warn you Edward will try to read your mind. And do you mind if I drop a gift for you in your room for when you get back?" Alice said waiting for a response from Nina who said sure and made sure we're all okay before hang up. Carmen and Graham came in at that time. "Alice this is my sister Carmen and her friend Graham, Carmen, Graham this is my friend Alice Brandon." I introduced them and Carmen seemed to be judging her while Graham gave her a hand shake.
"Carmen something went wrong with your friends." Peter said coming down stairs and turning on the news. The plane Carmen's friends were on didn't takeoff but the of the passengers were missing. "Edward did that but he wouldn't put them in the house in Alaska or here." Alice confirmed my suspension and I know that he was trying to separate us. If Carmen goes to find her friends it would leave the four of us till she gets back or Rosalie gets here and Nina gets back with Emmett and Esme but that means no time to hunt till enforcements get here if Carmen leaves.
