AN/

Hello! This Chapter features Liz and Nikolas! Fun fun fun!

So this is the first chapter to take this long. I wanna apologize. I didn't forget about you guys I promise! I needed to take an extra day for mental health reasons. Sorry!

I hope and have a feeling this chapter will be worth the wait!

-End of AN-

Nikolas stepped through the open elevator doors of the General Hospital main elevators. He got off and was relieved to finally find who he was looking for; Elizabeth.

"Elizabeth!" He called out, walking over to her.

"How did you know I would be here?" She asked him. "I'm here for a postpartum check up, not work."

"Well I called you and you didn't answer so I asked Franco." Nikolas told her.

"Oh wow. You called Franco, you must have really needed me." She joked knowing the two weren't the biggest fans of each other. They'd grown to a mutual respect which was much more than she ever hoped, but still weren't the type to just chat.

"Yeah, I do." Nikolas admitted. "But how are you? Everything okay with you? And Lauren?"

"Yeah." Liz said happily. "We are good. Franco is watching her while i'm here. Bringing a baby to the hospital for no reason is no good. I'm sure he'd showering her with affection as we speak."

"That's good." Nik said, smiling. Even if Franco wasn't the ideal guy, he was happy she was so happy. He always just wanted her to find happiness.

"So you needed me?" She asked him, curious.

"Yeah….." Nikolas said unsure how to ask this. "I know you aren't working right now but your still part of the staff."

"Yeah…..and?" She asked, not seeing where he was going with his request.

"I need your help to do something.."

"Do what?" She pushed.

Nikolas still wasn't sure what to say or how to say it. Better yet should he say it? Should he even be doing this? Yes. Yes he should. But it didn't make it easier.

"Nikolas, I'm not helping you if I don't know what i'm helping you do." She told him, folding her arms over her chest awaiting his response.

"I need to hack into the hospital computers and change some test results." He finally admitted.

Liz's eyes went wide. Not that Nikolas would do something a little grey morally, but that he would expect her help with it. "Nikolas that's serious!"

"I just need you to watch guard." Nikolas explained, hoping that would soften her to the idea. "You, working here and all, could mean you'd be good at stopping someone from coming in or anything."

Liz was kinda shocked she was thinking about it, yet she was. She really wanted more details though. "What test results?"

"Paternity."

"In Port Chalres? Shocker." Liz said before realizing that Nikolas didn't have any babies. "Who's?"

"Avery's" He said.

"Avery's?" Liz asked, remembering the fact they were indeed a paternity in question for her. "Why do you need to change Avery's paternity?"

"Ava wants to go for full custody and frankly after what happened so do I." Nikolas admitted.

"Oh...Micheal…" Realization washed over Liz. "Ava must be really worried."

Nikolas nodded. "She won't have to be if we win custody though, and it'd be so much easier if that little girl wasn't Sonny's."

Liz and Ava had made their way from judgmental acquaintances to friends but even if they hadn't Liz didn't doubt she'd feel for her. She couldn't imagine the constant worry of a mob hit put out on your young child. She could however remember grieving Jake, and she didn't want that for Ava, nor did she wanna see Avery hurt in a situation she was innocent in.

"Okay…" Liz sighed. "For Avery's sake, it's worth the risk."

"Thank you, Liz." Nikolas said, sure he couldn't do it alone. He grabbed her into a big hug which she returned to her oldest friend.

"The easiest computer to not get caught at is probably the one directly in the lab. You'll have direct lab results and it won't be abnormal to review them on it. Plus the lab has two doors which can help if you gotta get out quick." Liz said, thinking it through carefully.

"The lab?" Nikolas felt overwhelmed. "The lab's always have people in them."

"No. Labs can get booked out by doctors and luckily for you I think Dr. Ward is on her lunch break."

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go." Nik said, as him and Liz took off in the direction of the lab.

Liz led the way but Nikolas was so eager he was right beside her. They finally got to the lab that was booked out and it looked like it was empty indeed. But for how long?

"Okay, just be safe and if you hear me bang into the door it means go." Liz said, urging him into the lab and standing outside the door casually as she could while watching.

Nikolas got into the lab and it was the average hospital lab. He couldn't tell what the doctor who booked it out was trying to work on, but it didn't matter. What mattered was the computer, which he could see sitting on the desk at the other side of the room.

He walked over to it, careful to not knock anything over or leave a trace. He sat down at it and was able to get in using the doctors information that was left.

Then came the searching.

Patient: Avery Corinthos

Bingo. There was only one Avery Corinthos, and this was definitely her virtual file.

He scanned up and down, passing through pointless information like how up to date she was on her vaccinations and her blood type before finding a test run on her. The first ever test ran on her as just a tiny baby. Her DNA test.

As he looked over it, he realized something he never knew before. They had actually tested Carly against Avery. He assumed it was because of Morgan and Sonny's close relationship biologically.

Great. Even easier than switching who the father is he just needed to switch 'no match' to 'match'.

He scrolled a bit more to the portion of the test that tells you the match percentage and was about to edit it when he did a double take. What? He read it again. And again. But it wasn't going to change.

The page clearly read 'Match'.
