Synapse

Albion bridge

It didn't take Synapse long for him to arrive to the bridge from his quarters. By the time he arrived, however, the speech from the Delaz fleet had already started.

"People of the Earth Sphere, listen to me!" Yelled a man in front of all the screens on the bridge of the Albion. Synapse, upon seeing the face of the man, saw that he was Aiguille Delaz, based on pictures of the man back in the One Year War. What the man said next confirmed it. "My name is Aiguille Delaz, leader of the Delaz Fleet, a remnant of the once-great Principality of Zeon of which I was a captain at the time. As you all know, the once-great nation that was the Principality of Zeon had fallen three years ago. Taken down by the cowardly and corrupt Earth Federation that keeps spacenoids chained and oppressed. Replaced by a weak government that bows down to their every whim and demand while its people suffer." Delaz closed his eyes in sorrow as he thought of all the people in Side 3 that were being oppressed by Federation rule and those fools in the other sides, who were blind to the oppression of the Earth Federation onto Spacenoids. He would pity those fools if they weren't part of the reason that Side 3 was suffering right now. When he learned the other Sides were supportive of the punishments given to Side 3 after the war, he wanted to so bad punish them all, but right now, he needed to focus on inflicting as much punishment to the Federation as possible in order to reignite the fire of freedom and hope in the people of Side 3. Retribution will come later. He then opened his eyes again and spoke up.

"But though the Principality of Zeon is now gone, its principles and ideals still live through the people that still believe in them, and the spirit of Zeon is awaiting one of those people to resurrect it from the dead and being it's work anew." Said Delaz. "I am one of those people. As well as everyone under my command. We still believe in the ideals of Zeon Zum Deikun. We believe in the ideals of Degwin Zabi. And we will not stop until their dreams become a reality and see to the revival of the Principality of Zeon. And today, we will take the next steps to complete both goals." Delaz then showed everyone watching his broadcast the GPO2 Gundam, stripped of its original weapons and, in their place, was a massive launcher on it's back. "And we'll be using the Federation's own follies to achieve them."

Kai Shiden

"Well shit." Thought Kai as he heard Delaz's speech. He had just come back to his apartment after a long day of reporting, only to end up hearing all this from another crazed Zeon remnant idiot that thought they can do anything against the Earth Federation now they're all beefed up and modernized. Except, perhaps this one can actually do something against the Earth Federation. Or maybe not. Things have never gone the way for the Principality of Zeon and its remnants in the last months of the One Year War and beyond that. All due to AIs and the sheer numbers of the Earth Federation military and its industrial capabilities. Oh, and Amuro too. Yes. So, Kai was confident that they can deal with this Delaz fleet with ease. Though, he also knew that unlikely events can still happen that can prove him wrong. Oh, how much he didn't want to be wrong. Especially this one. Either way, though, he was going to have a lot of things to report in now with this recent of events.

Taking a sip from a can of soda he had, Kai wondered where Amuro was and how he was reacting to this.

Earth

Amuro Ray

Back at Earth, in an apartment complex, was a brown-haired young man with equally brown eyes, watching the broadcast of admiral Delaz with disgust.

"Even with all that was revealed, of how monstrous the Zabi family was and how wrong the actions the Zeons did during the war, there are still people out there that want to bring about dictatorship. What is it with these people?" Thought Amuro Ray, the White Devil, as he sat on a chair as he contemplated what this Aiguille Delaz has in store with this Gundam they have. And what they meant on the folly of the Federation and how it'll help them in reviving Zeon. It was only when the arrival of his girlfriend, Chan Agi, did he stop thinking of all this, though he was slightly worried about what will all this pertain.

Albion

"This mobile suit. This weapon of war. Is built for the purpose of sending a tactical nuclear warhead." Said Delaz, saying each and every word with disgust. "Yes, the very same weapon they banned during the One Year War and continued to ban following the conclusion of the war. This weapon is a piece of evidence that shows the corrupt and hypocritical nature of the Earth Federation government. How they eagerly condemn one side for doing something and will do the exact thing they condemn when it suits their needs. This is why the Earth Federation needs to be destroyed, replaced by the Principality of Zeon and its core principles and ideals. Unlike the Earth Federation, the Principality of Zeon will not care if you were born in space or under the gravity of Earth. We are the superior government. We will bring about the illumination and prosperity of humanity. Not the corrupt Earth Federation that only promises decay, stagnation, corruption, and oppression. And well will be the spark that will bring the end of the Earth Federation!" Delaz then began to yell out. "So, hear me, Earth Federation and all its lackeys. The Principality of Zeon will be reborn through my actions. The people of Side 3 will rise up again and free themselves from your oppressive grip. And we will tear down your oppressive regime in the name of humanity and for the name of the Zabi family. Zieg Zeon!" He said that last sentence with his arm out in the air, screaming it out. Everyone then heard the chant of a thousand more men and women as the phrase Zieg Zeon permeated throughout the transmission. As the soldiers of this Delaz fleet chanted, the reception to this speech was mixed.

Some were laughing at the delusions of the Delaz fleet. To them, they were just a bunch of renegade soldiers that refused to acknowledge their side lost and this was just a pathetic way for them to hurt the winning side as some sad way of revenge or hurrah that won't matter in the grand scheme of things. Others were nervous, especially amongst the more cautionary elements of the military and government branches of the Earth Federation with many worrying what this Delaz man will do to achieve his goals. And others, specifically those in Side 3, were getting angry or sad that another rogue element of their former military was out causing troubles for the Earth Federation, despite the fact it'll only make things worse for the people of Side 3. Some of their ranks even worried about possible retribution for this recent affront to the Earth Federation as none of the other rogue elements broadcasted their intentions to the entire Earth Sphere.

As these varying people were reacting to the announcement of Aiguille Delaz, captain Synapse was ordering his crew to contact Federation high command so he can deliver them the good news. That he had the intel they needed in order to defeat Delaz and his plans before they could inflict serious damage to the Earth Federation.

Delaz

Soon after Delaz made his speech, Gato made his way to congratulate Delaz for his speech.

"That was an excellent speech, sir." Said Gato, smiling at Delaz as he made his way to him. "The Federation high command must be shaking in their feet upon hearing your speech. Even more so when we succeed in Operation Stardust and bring about the revival of the Principality of Zeon." Delaz smiled at that as well as he looked at Gato.

"Indeed, with the success of this operation, we shall bring back the fighting spirit of our people and bring about the restoration of the Principality of Zeon." Said Delaz as he looked at the GPO2 Gundam. "And we'll use the Federation's own devil to accomplish our goals." Smirking at the Gundam, Delaz was enjoying the irony of it all. The Gundam had been part of the reason the Federation had tipped the balance of the One Year War, along with the creation of artificial intelligence and the White Devil himself. The irony would be more if they had the White Devil committing this act of heroism or an AI was helping them, but alas that was all wishful thinking. Not that it mattered much in the grand scheme of things. "Justice will be brought for all the injustices done to Side 3 both after the war and during it. We shall be the instruments of which the Principality of Zeon will be reborn. And the Earth Federation will fall as it should have three years ago."

"Indeed." Said Gato as he looked at the GPO2 Gundam with a smile on his face. The day of reckoning will soon arrive. And the Earth Federation will finally fall and a glorious new age for humanity will begin.

At least, that was what they thought.

Few hours later

Von Braun

"And you're absolutely sure that this intel is legitimate?" Asked admiral Wyatt as he looked at Synapse with skepticism. Synapse simply nodded as he looked at the admirals Wyatt, Tianem, Kowen, general Revil, and various other officers that made up the Federation high command as they contacted each other from all across the Earth Sphere. Some were on Luna II, others were located at Konpei, and others were located all over the Earth Sphere or on Earth itself. Synapse, meanwhile, was contacting them all from the relative safety of Von Braun. And he was currently in the middle of telling them of the intel he received from a traitor within the Delaz fleet itself. Some, however, were skeptical of the intel as it came from someone in the Delaz fleet that they have no knowledge of prior to all this. They were worried that it was merely an attempt by the Delaz fleet to divert their military forces away from the fleet's true objective. And Synapse understood that logic. He himself would have been on their side if he didn't know anything about Cima or seen her in person as she gave this intel. So, his goal now was to convince them of the legitimacy of Cima's intel and act on it.

"Yes sir, I believe the intel is legitimate." Said Synapse, contacting them from a high-tech communication tower reserved for military personal. "I also believe in the story of the Delaz fleet defector and her lust for revenge. If we need confirmation of at least part of her story, we can contact captain Lombard and see if his story correlates with the events of this Cima Garahau told me." Kowen nodded at that and said he'll notify Lombard immediately of this and ask if he knows this Cima Garahau. With that out of the way, Synapse continued. "I also believe we have more than sufficient forces to effectively act on this intel and have enough to act in case it's all a lie."

"While true, the Delaz fleet still has a nuclear weapon." Said Tianem as he tapped his fingers. "One that we have no knowledge of its yield or tonnage. Regardless of that, them having a nuclear weapon still warrants caution as that weapon can still unleash havoc on anything in our arsenal. Still, I say we place some faith in this intel and act on it while making sure there are contingencies in place in case it's all a fluke. As Synapse has said, we have more than sufficient forces in play in the areas the intel mentions to both act on the intel and to not act on it. Plus, it wouldn't surprise me that this Cima is legitimate in her hatred for the Principality of Zeon and want to see those that still believe in it to die or worse. Especially if her story is true." A few officers nodded in agreement at that, knowing just how much hatred some Side 3 citizens had for the old Principality of Zeon and those that wish to see it come to life again. A few other officers were still skeptical about what to do and were about to voice their opinions when another voice spoke up.

"I agree with admiral Tianem." Said Jamitov Hymen, a commodore that was responsible for handling financial assistance to various Federation forces and projects. The man had been stationed on Luna II, doing his job when he heard of Synapse's report and so he arrived to have his voice be heard, having just enough authority to be involved in this meeting. "Even if this intel is nothing more than a pathetic attempt by the Delaz fleet to distract us from their main target, we have hundreds, even thousands, of warships to deal with them if we play our cards right. For if we let the Delaz fleet get even one of their objectives, it shows the weakness of the Federation despite all of our advancements. So, therefore, I propose a plan that can act on the intel and leave no room for error on our part and leave the Delaz fleet utterly annihilated and embarrassed. First off, we shall continue on the naval review, acting as if nothing is out of the ordinary, and when the Delaz fleet attacks, we shall respond accordingly to standard procedures, letting them believe we don't know of their plans and when it's time for them to unleash their nuke on us, we have our most elite pilots deal with our stolen Gundam and foil their plans on the naval review." Upon hearing that plan, some officers didn't like how it was putting their soldiers at unnecessary risks and were about to express that, but Hymen continued. "Another part of the plan will be to ambush the fleet that intends to hijack the two colonies that are being sent to Side 3 for the purposes of the Colony Reclamation project as well as the one sent to reinforce the one that is attacking the naval review. And to prevent any unforeseen circumstances, we should keep under observation those the intel highlights as key to the Delaz fleet's plans as well as those that they are close to. We cannot afford to let what is probably the largest concentration of Zeon remnant forces getaway after this affront. If they want war, we should give them total war." Upon hearing all that, Kowen spoke up against Hymen.

"Jamitov, while your plan is sound in many ways, it places many of our men under risk." Said Kowen. "Not to mention we're placing much faith in the abilities of our pilots in preventing the Dela fleet in launching their nuclear weapon. I don't doubt their abilities, I'm saying, if they fail, a lot of our men will pay the price. Not to mention, we're risking two colonies in this plan. Colonies don't grow on trees, we need to be extremely careful or we will be down two colonies." Jamitov's mouth twitched at that, but other than that he didn't react to Kowen's protests.

"With respect, admiral." Said Jamitov. "You don't win battles by being cautious or not taking any risks. And considering the dangers, if we fail to disrupt the Delaz fleet's ability to complete their objectives, the risks in my plan are within acceptable parameters." Kowen simply sighed at that. Knowing what would happen if they fail. And how many were going to die if that nuke went off. He wasn't going to deny the fact that, in these circumstances, most risks were acceptable, but he still wasn't comfortable with how Jamitov was so callous with the way he explained his plan. Call him paranoid, but something about the senior financial officer made Kowen a bit uneasy. The glint in his eyes. The sheer contempt he had for Zeon. Something about him was off that Kowen couldn't just point his finger on. Still, there had been plenty of unpleasant officers in the Federation that was used to dealing with so someone like Jamitov wasn't something new to him. Still, he was going to bring up his worries for the sake of reminding everyone that they also had priorities in the relative safety of their men and Federation infrastructure, making their jobs that much harder compared to the Delaz fleet.

With Kowen not arguing further against Jamitov, Revil then began to join in on the conversation.

"With no further arguments against Jamitov's plan, I assume we are all in agreement to his plan of retaliation against the Delaz fleet." Said Revil, looking at all those assembled from his office in Luna II. Upon seeing no objections, Revil then looked at Jamitov and spoke. "Very well, Jamitov, your plan is approved. Now, tell us further details of this plan of yours so we can better prepare our forces against this Delaz fleet." Jamitov just smiled at that before telling them all that he had in mind for his plan.

A day later

Unknown location

A phone ringing for a few seconds caused a hand to be brought before it and for said hand to bring it to its owner's ear.

"This is captain Bask Om. What is it?" Said a tanned man with red googles as he answered the phone. The man was wearing the uniform of the Earth Federation space force, his uniform signifying him as a captain. After a few seconds of hearing what the caller said, Bask Om smiled. "Understood. I'll get the men and their machines ready." With that, he ended the call and began to smile darkly. Everything was going according to plan.
